I hated for today’s session to be over. I was enjoying the shells so very much today and the water was clear and the cones were beautiful. I just enjoyed it so much. It only seemed like five minutes at the most.
I cried noooo! when you left that gorgeous broken moon snail with the brown and white swirls. I would have loved to cut that into a pendant and wrapped it in some gorgeous hammered wire. I always find beauty in the broken shells, though. All the Alphabets were super cool. The Florida Cones are actually my favorite, though. They have such beautiful swirly colors. I keep a Florida Cone in the console of my car with a bunch of rocks that I have collected from special times and places. I call them my memories. The Florida Cone I found on my 50th birthday on Kice, and besides the fact that it makes me remember how happy I was that day, it really is just beautiful. You got so many gorgeous shells this video. 🥰
Me too. I think I would have had to keep the broken moon with the chocolate and white swirls. It was so unusual. I wouldn't normally keep something that broken but I was amazed. It truly reminded me of a chocolate/vanilla swirl ice cream cone.
I love when you go to Keewaydin--I rewatch those older trips, too! Yes, couldn't believe what good shape those cones were in--most even had perfect apertures, and the colors! Stunning colors on the apple murex shells, too! Great horse conchs, colorful moonsnails, that very cool worm snail and you even picked up a mossy ark--it was like a dream you would have of a perfect shelling day! Thanks for filming so we all could go with you!
Beach time is the best time. I turn up the volume, close my eyes and imagine I’m there. I am really loving those buttercup lucines, jingles and the scallops.
I was telling my daughter about my find of sa d dollars and she lives on great barrier island in nz qnw she said they call them snapper biscuits because they feed on these. Linda at whakatane Nz.
I vacationed on Great Exuma Island, Bahamas for 2 weeks and shelled almost every day! I found so many keyhole limpets, teeny tiny to very large.I have quite the collection of them and variety of colors too☺

Ilona, it was so fun to be out there. Shoot, it's always fun, but when you can pick up awesome shell after awesome shell it's pretty hard to wipe the smile from my face. My projects tend to take me about three times as long as I would like them to, but I am working on a little something that I hope to unveil by the end of next month. Wow!!! Beautiful treasures today!!! The waves were breaking a little stronger today with the tide coming in; fabulous sounds to go with the fabulous sites. Thank you for a lovely day!
WOW! What a day! That large apple murex was spectacular. And I totally get why you pick up lots of conchs ... the variety in colors and patterns is really something to behold!
That trip was unbelievable! I would have been so excited with all those alphabet cones. Thanks for bringing us your shelling adventures. Shells were so beautiful!
I just went on my first 3 hr shelling tour to 10k Islands- Kice Island and Dickman's Island in July 2024. I found 3 alphabet cones, one in great shape, one pretty beat up and the other one was a piece of one. I want to find some baby cones and alphabet cones on my next adventure. I will be going on another shelling trip in less than 2 weeks to Fernandina Beach which is relatively close to my home in SE Georgia. I will be on the hunt this time for shark teeth near the St Mary's River to add to my collection, pretty black/gray shells of all types and my hubby on the hunt for some spanish rials with his metal detector. I am totally addicted to shelling and have learned so much by watching your channel. I definitely want to check out Keewaydin Island next year on my way to Key West.
Got us excited - going to Keewaydin in a few days!!! My first trip to Florida to do shelling - and am with my sister. We are making great memories. Have been to Dickman's and a couple of beaches up by Venice - great for tinies! Still on schedule are Sanibel, Keewaydin and Kice. Then it's back to the great frozen North in about 10 days. You can take away the heat - but you can't take away my memories or my shells!!!! {{shelling hugs}}
@@SWFBeachLife Aww...well..we gotta thank The Lord for creating these beautiful creatures of beauty, He cares even for the smallest, like the sparrow. He knew you would enjoy these beauties, it's His blessings to you, Enjoy 😊
I just went to Keewaydin on Saturday with Ali & Captain Carlos and found soo many cones, a beautiful red true tulip, two rose murex and a decent size horse conch! Fabulous shelling!!!!!
Btw.. I’m wanting to find a long lightening welk egg casing for my show and tell for kids stories at my church here in Oregon… we love the Fla keys.. I lived in ft Meyers as a kid
I really enjoy your videos. I was born and reared in North Florida, now living in New England but with family in JAX and SW FL. I really miss the beach and shelling but get to enjoy by watching your videos. Thanks for bringing all of us along!
I so love watching your shelling adventures. I'm taking my daughter and 2 1/2 year old grandson to Keewaydin Island on March 13th. My grandson loves watching you a Plum Island Sea Cabin. He is getting good at naming the shells.
Always too short! Great haul, though. That huge moon snail is beautiful. Thanks again for your bright and shiny outlook and for sharing these adventures! Can't wait for next Sunday!
Thanks for taking us along again! I was really hoping to get to Florida this year, but unfortunately not. My husband will travel by himself to see the grandsons. I'm having issues with my lower back, again, and I will be getting injections again. I just can't sit, stand, or walk for very long. These so-called "golden years" are literally a pain in the butt! I'll just keep living vicariously through you. Hugs!
Lovely day at the beach and wonderful shells. I so enjoy watching how respectful you are of the living creatures. Always a joy watching your day at the beach. 😊
I enjoyed all the shells you picked up today. So beautiful. I enjoy the beach time. Hearing the water and waves. Thank you for sharing your videos. It really does help relax me and just enjoy it all. Have a wonderful day.
What an amazing day shelling! Cones galore! I was on Dickman and Kice islands last week with SWF Natical shelling and it was super. Found so many shells, even a baby’s ear!
Good evening, Beach Angel! What a wonderful day at Keewaydin! Such beautiful shells today! Not as many as you found last time, but lovely ones, just the same! It can't always be a many-shells day, but that's what makes those days so special! I like the cones and whelks and the egg cases are amazing! The horse conchs are gorgeous! Oh, you do the same thing, "please, oh, please, be empty!" I never know if I'm talking to the sea or the shell or myself! Nice lace murex, too! You know, I really think the scallops are my favorites, humble as they are. I'm getting my gear in order, and have two separate shell bags, like you. I used to use bread bags for the littles and box-store bags, several inside each other, for the heavy shells. I used my pockets for fragile shells. Since "knowing" you, I'm actually getting mesh carry bags for mixed shells, a mesh backpack for the heavies and a small handled bag for fragiles. Water shoes, shorts and a t-shirt under windproof pants and a windbreaker complete my fall shelling wardrobe. Just point me to the sea, 'cause I'm ready! I'm growing a bit more excited with every lap of the waves on the shore. Soon I'll be quite insufferable, I'm sure. I'll be so shell-minded, I won't be much good for anything else. I do hope to get down your way some time. My husband has brothers in Apopka, and the next time we go there, we are going to make a slightly out of the way side trip to your area. (My idea, not his). Spring is hastening its arrival here, though I strongly suspect that there will be a real cold snap at Easter. I think it's a visceral reaction, when you see a shell rolling in the surf, to bend down and grab it, don't you? Like Pavlov's pooches, we have trained ourselves. Good on you for picking up to much trash! Ha! You're going for the land record for Fighting Conch Collections, right? Do they have an Olympic event for shell collecting? Oh, the suspense of waiting for your surprise! I know it will be worth it! Thank you for the boat ride, the sunrise and for the shelling trip! It's always such a treat to go along with you! Happy days and good shelling to you, dear Beach Angel. Love from the Lost Mermaid
Yes, I do believe I have been trained to immediately bend down and grab shells if they are rolling around in the surf 😂 I guess it's better than drooling right? And it sounds like you are just about ready! I had a SUPER fun day not too long ago (I'll be sure to share) and picked up so many shells that within the first hour I had to unload them from my shell bag and get them into my backpack. Good call on the backpack! It's a lot easier to carry the weight on your back than over your shoulder. And I just may end up with that record for the fighting conchs. I just can not help myself! Hugs! 🥰
i don't know if I'm the only one but, I scream out the name before she does. Thank you for teaching us! I'm from Florida. Nice to learn the real names!
How cool to have found your channel. Love that you know all the shells names. I started collecting as a young girl. My grandparents had a beach house out in Springs NY. The bay beach was filled with shells. I had a mirror with a shell frame & a lamp made from a ginger jar filled with shells.
That pear whelk was begging you to take it home Sharmon! Come on now! 😂 Seriously, I've thoroughly enjoyed your beach hunt tonight. You have me wanting to go back down to SWFL and I just got back from Pass A Grille last week from an awesome shelling trip. ☺️
LOL! It's happened before and I've picked up the same exact shell! Holy smokes was this shelling day fun. I've seen what's been going on up at Pass A Grille - at least you probably have yourself a bunch of urchins!
at 24:35 that is also a juvenile Anadara transversa... likely. And at 24:50 that is a very nice alphabet cone or Conus spurius... with an intact lip as well it seems. That is really nice. Little mineral oil, data slip along with it and you're done. at 28:23 that is a really special pattern, also because that Strombus already had a white vertical line on the previous whorl... and exactly ne whorl later again a white vertical line. I don't see a repair on that point, only a pause in growth, and as a result a commarginal growth line. And indeed, those are all called 'fresh dead'. Some fresher than others.
i was on keewaydin twice in mid-january a week apart. first time shells were meh! and i picked up a lot of garbage, but second time was cone-a-palooza...such a special day. still treasure that day over the 5 i spent in 10k islands! i so look forward to sunday afternoons with you. thank you so much for taking us along. ❤
There's no guarantee with the shells, but when they decide to show up, isn't it so much fun? I'm glad you got to have that amazing feeling of finding all those treasures too!
I am so happy to watch your new video after work tonight and wow all these alphabet cones are amazing ! This island was truly spectacular with all the beautiful shells ! Thank you for another fantastic shelling adventure ❤️🐚🏝️🦀
I've been following you for a little while, didn't know until now you were a Jersey Girl ! Enjoy the warmth and sunshine, still cold and yucky here in the Garden State. Love your clips, esp. during our NJ winter. 👍🏻😃🏖️🐚
Absolutely love watching your trips to the beach, one day I will make it to SWF and do a shell tour. We have had so much sand wash up on our beautiful North Sapphire Beach in New South Wales, Australia that shells are few and far between. We usually have tritons, cowries , abalone , turbans , trocus, baler shells , bonnets, limpets, and coral as we are at the southern end of the barrier reef chain, with the Solitary Islands etc but alas we will have to be patient until they return. Have a lovely weekend.🐠🪸🐬🦀🌴🐚🦑🐢
What an amazing day!!! I can't believe how many alphabet cones you found. Thru out the video I was yelling shut up!!! 🤣😂. Holy cow🤯. Always love coming along with you. Thank you for the beautiful video as always. 🥰
Maddie, what a great day you had. It’s getting hard to pick a favorite every video. There’s so many that I love.. I agree with you for today.. That Moon snail is STUNNING ❤❤❤See you next time my friend!! ❤
Makes my heart happy and sad at the same time. Happy you get to go and take us with you, but heavy sad that I can’t be there too. What I wouldn’t give to do the Sanibel slump again, feel the warm water lap at my feet, wind in my hair, salty mist in my glasses and beautiful sunrises. If only wishing could make it so.. 😢
Hi Sharmon, sooo excited for this island today!! Holy moly it is a shell explosion! ( : I love spiny jewel boxes! ( : I love gastropods!! Soooo gorgeous!! Funny you said that about gastropods. I am in CT and Rhode Island or the Cape are my two shelling spots! Occasionally CT shoreline. But only find jingle (which I love) and slipper shells there. I swear! Non-gastropods! Boring! ) : Wow, the second apple murex is beautiful! ( : Pretty gaudy Nautica! ( : Wow, all those shell casings! ( : Those were huge! ( : Pretty calico scallop and lettered olive OMGGGG...that orange scallop is amazing! ( : Love the alphabet cones too! ( : You were just pulling them in when you finally got back to the alphabet cone zone! Lol! ( : The fighting Conches didn't disappoint today either! ( : What an amazing shelling day today! ( : You were on fire! ( What a wonderful beach day! Thank you soooo much for taking us along to the beach! ( : Yayyyyyyy... can't wait for next Sunday; woo hoo!! ( :
Awesome to find all those alphabet cones and horseys! Normally hard to find, makes me sad cuz something is causing their demise. Wonder if red tide related. Love your videos.
I miss shelling. I grew up in Massachusetts and lived in Florida briefly. A fisherman took us out to an island off of Pompano Beach and that place was crawling with wall to wall crabs. No thank you! I don't think I picked up one shell on that trip. I was too busy dodging crabs. lol!
Hi and happy end of the week. I don’t know how to contact you so I am posting it in your latest video. I was flipping thru my Southern Living and there is a post online about the Florida Beaches. Because you were the first ‘sheller’, I am able to recognize all the beaches and shells. I received some shells from SWF and proud that I knew the names or at least the common names. I got a huge flat, a cowrie, a type of murex, a turkey wing, a rough scallop, a moon snail and two small crown conches. Some other smaller shells that I am not quite sure of their names. I have unpackaged them a dozen times to look at them. I wanted to thank you for opening my eyes to the world of sea shells!
Well Penny you are so very welcome. I myself had no idea how fun of a hobby beachcombing can be! And once I started learning about the critters forget it. The beach is an amazing classroom and nature is the best teacher 😌
Everytime you say "Lets Go to the Beach" I say "I am ready" Hello from Snowy cold Michigan. Thanks for taking us along!😂

Thanks so much for leaving such great info!
i was on keewaydin twice in mid-january a week apart. first time shells were meh! and i picked up a lot of garbage, but second time was cone-a-palooza...such a special day. still treasure that day over the 5 i spent in 10k islands! i so look forward to sunday afternoons with you. thank you so much for taking us along.
Thank you for tagging along with me!
Thank you for making my Sunday so much better!! Stay safe and happy shelling!
Wow! Awesome Cones!
What a great trip with so many beautiful shells. Such colorful scallops and I love those horse conchs!
I've been following you for a little while, didn't know until now you were a Jersey Girl ! Enjoy the warmth and sunshine, still cold and yucky here in the Garden State. Love your clips, esp. during our NJ winter. 👍🏻😃🏖️🐚
Stay warm beach friend! I'm a little jealous of the snow days you may get, but at least I won't have to shovel!
I was drooling reading, tritons, cowries, abalone...its the rarity that makes them so special!
I really enjoy the shelves that you’re showing a love the colors. I love everything.
What an amazing day!!! I can't believe how many alphabet cones you found. Thru out the video I was yelling shut up!!! 🤣😂. Holy cow🤯. Always love coming along with you. Thank you for the beautiful video as always. 🥰
Gorgeous haul! So happy for you!
Maddie, what a great day you had. It’s getting hard to pick a favorite every video. There’s so many that I love.. I agree with you for today.. That Moon snail is STUNNING ❤❤❤See you next time my friend!! ❤
I have to get down there to find some shells like you found. My husband and I will be in Mexico Beach for a month in June. I can't wait!
Such a great trip. We went to Keewaydin last month. So much fun!
What an awesome shelling trip Sharmon, I know you had a blast. When you give us beach time, do you not look down? Thanks, have a great week.
Amazing day !! Thank you !!
I looked forward to your video all day, and what a reward!! 😊 such spectacular finds today!!! Now I can go to sleep, dreaming of shells 🐚 ❤
WOW WOW WOW! What an amazing day at the beach!
I hear you. I wish I could make that happen for you too!
Boring! ) :
Wow, the second apple murex is beautiful! ( : Pretty gaudy Nautica! ( : Wow, all those shell casings! ( : Those were huge! ( :
Pretty calico scallop and lettered olive OMGGGG...that orange scallop is amazing! ( :
Love the alphabet cones too! ( : You were just pulling them in when you finally got back to the alphabet cone zone! Lol! ( : The fighting Conches didn't disappoint today either! ( : What an amazing shelling day today! ( : You were on fire! (
What a wonderful beach day! Thank you soooo much for taking us along to the beach! ( : Yayyyyyyy... can't wait for next Sunday; woo hoo!! ( :
I'm glad you enjoyed your time on the beach! Thanks so much for coming along with me!
So fun! I needed to hear the surf today.
All those cones! What a wonderful day you had! Thanks for my weekly beach time! ❤
Seriously...fantastic finds and all on one beach ! You're killing me ! The shells were beautiful today . Luv'n this . 💖
I knoooooow! So fun!
Thank you! Please let me know🙋
Wow! Nice haul!
Your videos are the best! Thank you for another great adventure! ❤
Thanks for watching!
So many beautiful cone shells! 😍
That was pretty exciting! Nice shells!
As always a pleasure
The arrangement of alphabet cones looks like a box of crayons with all those colors!
I was too busy dodging crabs. lol!
I would have loved that experience! I might have been a wee bit creeped out over all the crabs but it must have been cool to see!
Another great day! I would love to live there and be able to go shelling so often!
I'm so lucky!
Thank you Sharmon. My dog passed away last night and I needed this distraction.
So sorry for your loss. Sending consoling thoughts. Losing furry friends is, perhaps, the hardest thing to go thru.
Awe MaryAnn I'm so sorry ❤️
@@SWFBeachLife thank you Sharmon. ♥️
@@pennywebb867 thank you Penny. Yes it feels like a big empty hole in my soul.
I'm so sorry for your loss, MaryAnn. Prayers for you.
Thank you 🥰
Hi and happy end of the week.
