    You have an amazing talent, the small details that go into constructing these guns is amazing.

    Good shooting! (Glad I was in the Army, not Navy) ...naval gunfire has so many more variables than Artillery... Moving platform, moving target etc.....
    However.... comma.... Excellent vid, superb scale shooter! Well done!

    Stunning piece! After 45 years of black powder shooting, I have two concerns; the love and tenderness that that steel slug is inflicting on the bore and the possibility that the slug might float off the charge while handling-leading to a "short start" situation with resulting over-pressure.

      Bob Connor I have no idea what you just said but I am just liking it because why not?

      Could you maybe explain as I am just a normal person with no knowledge of canons.

    • @kc6kkn
      @kc6kkn 4 роки тому +12

      Thomas Vervaeck , essentially, being a smoothbore, the shell might float towards the muzzle as he is replacing the cannon on the firing mount. This would allow some space for the charge to build up pressure before expelling the shot out of the barrel. Too much overpressure, and the barrel could come apart catastrophically.

    I like this one better than the first one you was shooting. Please start sale in these. Send me a price I’d love to give my son that’s in the marines one and my daughter who’s in the air force. They would be tickled pink to have one. Thanks for your great work and videos.

    I wonder if paper charges would speed up the reload and make it more accurate since it has to be removed for every load

    If only they could have taken the gun out of the Vavasseur mounting to load it, as you did. In fact, it seems like the block and tackle method of gun handling would be superior in a muzzle loaded weapon. At least when it comes to reloading.

    That’s really cool! Question though, because I know nothing about what your doing, does adding more power cause the slug to go higher? Or just faster?

    • @MangasColoradas941
      @MangasColoradas941 4 роки тому

      iirc it increases the velocity which increases the speed and the increase in speed changes the trajectory I.e both faster and higher

    he should stop fiddling trying to aim the thing and simply find out what the group pattern would be. It does not appear to be rifled and I imagine the pattern would be a little wild.
