I watch many "Trade" related videos because it presents the picture of what makes America great! Your channel reinforces that picture! I look forward to viewing your gift to America every week. I'm convinced that producing a great video is an Art Form ... some have it and some don't ... Rock On!
Never fails when you take time off, you always get the worst job when you come back. Y’all handled it well. Be Safe!
Ha! It’s great that well drilling became a family outing with the cool doggo. 👍🏻
Cicadas are crazy loud !
strange sounding cicadas
They're above ground and in heat. My neighborhood has been roaring for the past week.
I know of a guy that pulled a no start, commercial vehicle out of the road with a set of jumper cables 😂 it was a pinch situation ofcourse, but it worked somehow!
In some pinch situations it seems you can make a lot work on hope and prayers and McGyver you out of there. But do not try the same in an everyday situation, it sure wopn´t work at all.
You guys should look into communication gear like sonetics. I got them for our crew and it's so much nicer for communicating.
Couldn't see the drop until you stepped in it. That was deep. Nice job.
Its nice to see the rig doing so well.
thanks phillip, great video. greetings from uk 👍
Good info on the real world of putting wells in!!
I lost water coming from my pitless well. Your videos helped me with everything. My pump was dated 1992! After replacing it and no water still, I found out it was a bad underground wire from the house to the well casing. Anyways, thank you for the videos. It helped tremendously
Good feeling when hitting big water Thanks
Geweldig gedaan het is echt een top job 👍Groetjes van uit Holland 👋🏼🇳🇱
YOU are Pumped UP, and you got the crew all excited to be back doing what you love !!!
Good to see ! You inspire young men to get a trade that is needed by their community, Then the rewards will come.
Providing a needed service better than others will do is an extremely fine thing that gets a real man all pumped up and makes you want to strut a bit !! You deserve it, Strut !!
I grew up in the PNW on a late 70's Ingersol Rand TH60 with a steel casing hammer mounted on an International Loadstar 5000. It is interesting to see different practices from another part of the country.😊
great show thanks
Nice job guys
I have alot of respect for what you do. be safe brother
Good job man. I enjoy your videos.
Man they did an amazing job with the refurb on the smeal!
Good job and wow on the 50GPM
Great job, cant wait to next video
Good job man
Very cool
Wow I love wach your videos
Cool 😎
Everything is soooo different with that rig to what i used here in Sweden, when i was working for a drill company. 👍 We used a Nemek drill rig, on tracks, that is able to raise and tilt the mast in any direction. And with a 20 bar (290 psi) air compressor, powered with a CAT C13, just screaming wide open! (To be honest, that air compressor was too small.) But it makes me happy to see someone being proud of what they are doing! Good work, fellas!
They make 1 in pex and it been being used since the 60s it doesn't fail unlike pvc
@H2O Mechanic My suggestion is you guys invest in some pig mats to place under the hydraulic valves for the next six months at each drilling site until you find all the leaks.
It'll help you find leaks faster while under load/working conditions.
Not to mention that it will clean up a lot faster without spilling oil everywhere you don´t want it as it stays contained in the mats.
Well, you guys do good work. Up here in MI, we had several years ago, a driller while on a job, blow the truck engine. They had to bring in a crane to pull the engine. The rig was stuck there for 2 weeks. Front bumper 5 foot in the air.
try the "Yankem" Ropes if you ever have problems, nice job!
Love these H2O Mechanic videos! I wonder how he can estimate the flow rates just by looking..
Look into midland radio’s. We absolutely love them
I started working for a 3rd generation well driller who still had a couple cable machines, talked of a rope machine where you had to turn the rope every 3rd hit. And it was the farmers responsibility with his team of horses to move the rig to next job. A long way from the State of the art Chicago Pneumatic well drills we used. His brother used Ingersol rand drills. The CPs in my opinion were superior
Look at Yankum ropes for some great tow straps.
You got bugs making a racket in the background? I've read they got a cicada hatching event .
We used 6 5/8 steel casing, welded
We use steel casing up here in New England and don't have that issue when we hit a lot of water! FYI
Can you come to Hedgesville WV? Really enjoy your videos.
Yankum ropes can help with the pulling straps
Tough job handled well by professional people. Love the content. Long time viewer. Got a question from Manahawkin NJ. I have a well. Township ran city water but were able to keep our wells for laws etc. Went to have mine serviced because it wasn't working. Repair company said that because of a casing leak sand was washed into the well and is keeping the pump from being pulled up. How else can this be pulled out and restarted? Thanks so much JT
Need water? Call Hensley. Were fast and friendly.
Looks like a good day to break in new clothes! 😁
Never know what you'll find under the ground...
I hope you had a safety rope when you went into the hole!
I was holding the winch hook
I can’t wait for the cicadas to go back underground. They are diving me insane.
you can really hear the cicadas in the background sounds like an spaceship
That will teach you to wear new cloths on a shake down drilling. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Only wish I was closer to test out Virginia drilling. It's much different up here in the Sandhills of Nebraska. lol Ever think about going with business band radio instead of CB?
I'm also not a big Pex fan in certain applications. All I hear is how good pex is until it breaks and decouples.
I have a well being redone, new pump, another 6 foot added on the casing in order to bring it above ground level and replace the water pipe coming into our house. My house is built on a steep hill with flat 15 foot backyard which the well is located. My problem is water is running out of the well casing unless I am using water. Is there anything I can do to stop the water. I would like to add a dry patio.
Sounds like the roar of cicadas in the background. They are deafening in North West Georgia.
Great video! I have a question, how do you know how many gallons per minute flow when you do hit water! Is it by eye or is there a gauge of some sort?
Just wondering if you guys have heard about Radon in houses being a bigger issue when the well is drilled near the foundation of the house? Up here in Canada, the government is saying so.
How do you "level" the rig or "plumb" the "Tower"?
Is there a video showing how you know the gpm the well is producing. Found this site a few months ago the water well process is quite interesting.
He does it by experience watching the flow out of the well head. Probably a good estimate.
want to push 4" PVC using water pressure down 100' for a well in Florida. question can this be done??
I'm just curious, Have you ever encounter with the deep water blow out(artesian well)
When you finish that job how much did I would like to know what the total cost is total job cost thank you even if you put the pump in and everything
Hey Buddy If you don't mind can you tell me the average drilling feet per hour with this machinery
Let's go people................ smash that 'like button' and 'subscribe button'.
what was in the aqua clean container? you showed a clear tube with beads flowing through it. what is it and its purpose?
Drill foam.
41:10 in video. Your rig is missing something,, a piece of 14 inch or 20 inch schedule 80 pipe about 4 ft long.. normally gets pressed into the ground around the top of where you're drilling so that when you start your hole it doesn't blow out a 3 ft cavity.. I've seen well drilling videos and probably 22 different countries.. you're the first rig that doesn't use one of those. To direct the material coming out of your hole.. another thing that I would ask about. Most of the wells that you're drilling are in North Carolina.. but your main shop is 1 mile north on the North Carolina border, in Virginia on interstate 15,, the only reason I question that is because I live in Wisconsin. If a well driller would come over here from Minnesota. Or Michigan or Illinois.. the point that I am getting to is that if the well driller here in Wisconsin wants to come and drill a well depending on where it is they only needs like one permit.. a driller coming from a different state. Has to jump through a lot more hoops so that they know the ins and outs of what you can and can't do in this state.. so being that you're out of Virginia and you're doing jobs in North Carolina doesn't complicate the paperwork..
It's extremely complicated to abide by both state regulations and each different county has different rules.
What your talking about is called a diverter, it's basically a T that carries away the well cuttings. In theory it would help, but it still can blow out. We've lifted the earth from 15-18ft deep in a 30ft circle before. It's scary & can flip a Machine over. Once the ground lifts, you must add water or slow penetration rate .
Need to go with gmrs handheld and mobiles for everybody you can get a license from FCC for $35 no written test fill out the paperwork online and get your license and you can operate several radios off of one license . I have my Amateur ham license and my GMRS license also.
Can you tell us why hitting a spring is bad? Being as you drilling for water, the uninformed would think that was good. Glad to see you hit great water.
Injecting air in the ground to cut a hole, air follows the spring & blows out the surrounding ground as it did here. Typically springs are surface water, & have bacteria.
Great video . U allways have a hiccup or two with anything but everything turned out good .
Spent 40 years in the offshore oil drill business. The last 20 years in deep and ultra deep water. Think about running 250' of 350#/ft 30" surface casing and not tagging the seabed until you run about 4500' for drillpipe. Other than that not much difference.
Thanks for the long videos too. You could go to an hour and id't be ok by me.
Chinesium brass fittings, avoid them. Made is USA fittings are still available.
I have a question for anybody that could answer. Out of all the videos I’ve watched related to removing a well pump I don’t believe I’ve seen a pit less adapter with a seal. That appears to be what I’m dealing with and I’ve got the seal loose and can get the system to lift up about a foot and then it appears the seal is catching on the casing. Now this seal is 4ft down the casing. All the videos I’ve seen with a pit less adapter it’s about 4ft down the well with a well cap on top but no seal. Am I just missing something? Lol
Hydrolic? What is that
you don't want trees within 50 feet of a well, is that while drilling ? is it ok to have trees within that 50 feet after well is drilled ? will the roots damage my casing ? my casing is steel with a pitless adapter
It's simply because the other truck must park beside the drill rig to bring in extra rods if it goes past 400ft.
@@h2omechanic oh , thanks , makes 100% sense now duhhh , good luck on your 100k
Cicadas?
I hear them
I think this is the plaque, famine year so cicadas…they might be in the area where 2 different years are coming together, the 13 and 17 year cycle has hit this year. Also there is a particular region in the states where the 2 different years overlap…….pestilence…..lol
@@jamessullivan6985 Live in Oklahoma as a tween during an emergence. Was amazing the drone that went on all day.
How long have you been in the business?
Est 1982, I've been here for 18 years
Beware pressurized hydraulic fluid. A "hydraulic injection injury" can be disfiguring or cost you a limb.
was that the same picky homeowner where you found multiple power line breaks from when they made that covered patio and he DIDN'T want a junction box on the post of the patio but you had to replace the entire power line to the well anyways ? "Well Pump Troubleshooting" from 3 weeks ago
You gold mining or well drilling
Let me guess, someone said “this will be easy” before you left the shop.
Yup! How'd you know!
@@h2omechanic Drilled enough holes to know that’s the kiss of death. That and anything you drop within 10 feet of the hole has a good chance of going down it.
Regarding the water leak job....people sometimes forget tgeres only so much the customer is willing to pay for. We van recommend whats right, but that doesnt mean the client will approve it
Who decides where to locate the well?
Permit has a well location area
In ct the board of health
About the copper adapter that broke, you put it back the same way as the first time. You're going to be back out there in another 18 months. Think real hard on this. You are the expert, you know there is going to be stress on this adapter and it's going to break again. Ask yourself why did I put that back together the same way next time. You could have put a couple unions in, or at least reinforced the connection. Sorry, that was not a good repair.
You forgot the part he asked the homeowner as in fixing it the right way, but the homeowner wanted back the same way it was before. So, this is going to be on the homeowner. Also, he said you taking 13 Gallons per minute down to about 8 Gallons per minute with the PEX pipe, which he was referring to the pressure that going to be created with going back the same way, that means he might have to be back out there. As he said while walking away, what can you do if the homeowner does not want it done the other way (right way). Also did not charge him for the fix.
@chrislee5696 You guys are one hell of a well drilling team, I would score you a 10. Sorry to upset you.
@@RVerJerry You did not upset me, just wanted to point out that the home owner did not want it the right way. Also I do not work for this company just a viewer and yes they are one hell of a drill team.
@chrislee5696 Sorry Chris, I thought you were a monitor for the channel.
Boy, Don't you ever go in a hole like that without a rope around you and two men ready to pull your skinny ass out !!! That rig can slide back when it caves in and burry you !! After hurricane Katrina (Waveland MS), working in wet sand, it happened ! Be Safe !!
I liked the videos a lot more when they showed more drilling and less complaining about how hard the job is.
Eh, I didn't see it as complaining as much as just having a frustrating day and people get to see that it's not just as easy as dropping a drill in the ground and suddenly you hit water. Tell it like it is just as much as having an easier day.
My goodness you 5 weeks off seem like a distant memory now. Well done excuse the pun.
26:00 the background noise reminds me of a Radiohead song for some reason 😂
was that the saggy da old folks will know that show
All that $$ spent and you are having to redo alot of it yourself
Why dont you show the completed well running instead of your face all the time?
Enough mats!! Have the customer pay $1000 for a cheap rock pad for you!! Crushed concrete, rejected road base or something to give you a base!!
🤙👍
