This dozer is definitely going to be a 6 or more episode series. Nice to see a full crew getting involved in this episode. The banter about the screwups was very entertaining.
Well, RIP that motor. Y'all can rebuild it though no sweat, but man I'd be draining every tank you can open by hand to check for gravel in the mean time.
Guys it’s now official Clint and C&C Equipment Rocks 🪨 Rock On Clint and Kevin Great video as always Glad the crank and bearings weren’t totally destroyed Got lucky on that Can’t wait to see the dozer up and running
Hi Clint and Kevin, you were really lucky with that engine. I still hope everything goes well for you. You're going to have what you paid for that dozer. Let's not hope that less is better. Thanks for sharing my friends. Have a great evening, and God bless you all at C&C.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. The diagnosis videos are some of your best. Sad to see so new of a motor with so much damage but great to see it’s not going to the scrap heap. Good one to put the found foreign matter and ruined parts into a diorama for visiting guests to look at in a waiting room if you have such an area. Next impossible task is to determine what parts are missing and needed from the dozer. Your wealth of knowledge is impressive to see in action. Wishing you and your family the best.
I would have liked to see the inside of the oil pump! given everything that remained in the filter she must have seen some pass... Thanks for these videos Clint! 👍👍👍
Hello Clinton, thanks for an interesting and distressing video today. I don't understand how anyone could pour gravel into an engine and think they have the right to do that. It was nice to see Mr. Chitwood hanging around with the boys. Cheers from Canada
I enjoy the causal banter and obvious good relationships exhibited by all of you. It makes it a pleasant experience for use viewers. Having some experience with heavy construction in the 60’s and 70’s, it’s fun to watch the process you go through on each piece of equipment. The narrative is interesting and important to the viewer as we vicariously “fix” the problem. Keep up the great work.
OK, so gravel in the engine: that I would never have guessed! Isn't it amazing how so many people think the engine was swapped before sale. There is no way they would have gone to that bother, oh hang on, I used to work for a dealer who "rebuilt" tractors and sent then painted to look super. I was a trainee mech and was told to rebuild engines with whatever parts we could find in the scrap boxes, seconds piles, or under/over sized cams we had. When I asked where I could get some new pistons etc, was told not to worry as engines never got checked as they were usually disappeared "in transit" and never got to where they were meant. Needless to say, I left soon after.
Hey Clint, Have not commented in some time but have been watching all your videos. I was hoping to visit all of your folks this spring, but life happens I get better then the wife gets sick. Anyway I enjoyed the videos I have heard of people sabotaging engines. I don’t why people get off on it. I look forward to the rebuild. It was great to see your Dad.in the shop and helping out. Give him our Regards.
It’s a sad day when people have to sabotage equipment, there is no real reason for it. I have been involved in repairing 2 sabotage pieces of equipment, not fun and expensive. One thing is for sure, the right guys are working on the engine, it will run like a Swiss watch when you’re done, of that I have no doubt. Thanks for the update, enjoyed watching.
Not the first time I have seen this had this happen to a 3508 only the damage occurred was much worse great video thanks Clint and Kevin and Tucker and Scott
JUST FOUND YOUR VIDEOS TODAY . You can tell the quality of work you do by how clean and organized your shop is . I worked in a shop with many other people , and found the most organized people did the best work .
I guess that could have been worse. Have you looked in fuel and hydraulic tanks yet? I worked for a dirt contractor and they sugared our equipment on a job site. They ended up building a corral with construction fencing and hired an armed guard to keep people away from the equipment at night. Since they kept coming back.
The next time you want to tumble polish rocks - use a rock polisher....not an engine oil pan! Just wondering - when you find obvious criminal damage...do you let the army people know about it??? Great video! Collect all the rocks & auction them off! Thumbs up! Jim
Having a late night here in the uk watching this instalment, great watching but as the guys have said more episodes for this rebuild, I'm away next thursday so can you put another episode or two up before that please. 🙂👍 thanks guys.
Hey Clint, like seeing your dad work with you and Kevin. Please include him in more of your videos if he is willing. He must be extremely proud of both you and his grand children. Keep up the good work and content.... from fan in Bozeman.
Can't believe the filter stopped. all the dirt from destroying everything. I'd say you hit a home run on this machine because it could been a total lost engine.
Clint, this dozer is in rough shape to say the least, but it’s nothing the C&C Crew can’t handle! Kevin, you dah man! Take care and I’ll see y’all down the road…
Don't know who, but there are a lot of crazies out there. But, if the crazy who dumped two hands full of gravel in that engine hadn't done it, the little dozer might still be pushing dirt someplace else. Poor little orphan. At least she's home and getting a lot of love.
Sadly, anyone who questions the climate theology gets call a conspiracy theorist. In reality it’s the “climate emergency” is the biggest scam ever. It will eventually settle but not while any of us are still alive.
It's a great thing that you pick those up for scrap/parts prices😂 A person can afford to put a $1000 and a couple hours into them when they are that nice😊😊😊
Love the channel man. You have great content. I feel like the mechanic did a LOT of work here trying to figure out the timing issue from seeing that pump gear and the key. They probably didn't want to pay him and he made sure no one else could get it running too!
Makes me wonder the real reason why anyone would want to dump gravel in the motor, to see in in the oil pan. OM, and all the silcone makes me think whom ever tried to fix this for whatever reason, used over a tube of silcone thinking it woud make a good sealeant?? NOT!! With all that Kevin and Clint has seen, this doesn't surprise them much..what a mess..then again, know that at the end of all this, this machine is gonna humm like a kitten, and be worth some big bucks as well. Looking forward to seeing this whole repair series..enjoyed seeing your dad..
Always nice to see your Dad working and laughing with you but he's old school like some of us he's thinking secretly in the back of his mind if it was his machine and he found out who did this to the machine the guy would never have to worry about going before the judge 😂😂😂😂😂
Hey Clinton what a terrible waste these Greenies are a big problem here ,general vandalism a lot of small operators take their machine home every night to risky leaving it on site, big operators hire security guards with Dogs to watch their machinery at night, even brikkies take their mixer and barrow home every night sadly Australia isnt what it used to be . But on a brighter note really enjoyed this pull down edition your Dads a funny guy like father like son Have a good weekend Mate Kym Adelaide
Extra valve collets 1984 a UK ford transit van had a valve collet stuck in the oil pump, we tool the head cover off and all the collets were in place; we dropped the sump and found 3 extra collets and a hole in the mesh oil strainer. The extra collets must have been there since we bought the works van from new. Years of the collets bashing the mesh strainer until it failed. We had another van and after a fairly long run it would smoke like mad; we tracked that down to the oil being pumped into the rocker box cover until it flooded, we were not sure if the head oil drain paths were too small or the oil pump was too much.
Sell a locking system modification to your customers...especially those that are buying equipment from you. I bet Chris would buy one as his equipment is always on different job sites.
Good luck guys, thanks for sharing Clint and Kevin, I’ve learned a lot from yall! Kirk from Louisiana sends prayers to yall and your families, I hope yall enjoy the Memorial Day weekend! See ya on the next one! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙋🏼✌🏻✌🏻
A friend told me as a kid they were at war with strip miners back in the early 70's. After hours or on weekends they would sneak onto the job sites and sabotage equipment. Pour BB's down the oil filler tubes, drop fist size rocks and pour gallons of used engine oil down the exhaust tubes, dump buckets of sand in the hydraulic tanks, nick and cut belts, put pinholes in hoses, take bolts out of tracks, take the air valves out of truck tires, cut or put pinholes in fuel lines, put chunks of logging chains down the rock crushers, put superglue in every lock or starting key slot on equipment they could find on the job site, all sorts of crazy stuff. Can't imagine what all the miners would of have done to them of they'd of caught them.
Fascinating to watch you guys tearing the engine down. I can imagine it’s going to be several thousands of dollars just in parts. Labor several thousand dollars. I’d say at least $6,000 to $8,000 just in the engine not to mention the rest of the dozer. Love the channel
I know it would be dang near impossible but it would be cool to find the real story of the rocks. Enjoy these tear down and rebuild vids Clint. Nice job so far. Never have seen a piston melted like that. We know it will run when your done!
Gave Scott the camera and it was like Santa gave him a new harbor freight tool look how confused 🤔🤔 he got when you handed and let him the fancy ratchet and socket 😂😂😂
''We're in 5 cylinder territory'' did I laugh!
Kevin, tell Clint you will put a 350 Chevy up against any Ford any day! Chevy engines out last Ford 2 to 1! Much better oil pressure too!

Clint I think you got your sense of humor from your Dad!
Really enjoyed seeing your dad and uncle Scott in the shop today. Great video.
Is tht Clint senior?
@@woody95124 it is
Great to see your dad working in the shop, great sense of humor!
Gritty gritty almost bang! bang!
I particularly like the diagnosis stuff. Good job.
I reckon that engine, make a good boat anchor for most…with you guys..it will be the sweetest engine around 😂
Well, RIP that motor. Y'all can rebuild it though no sweat, but man I'd be draining every tank you can open by hand to check for gravel in the mean time.
Some times I hate what people do. I have been more fond of some of the equipment I ran then a lot of people, and that gravel reminded me why.
So true!
Amen, brother.
Equipment and Dogs! I like and trust both of them more than most people.

Great video as always Glad the crank and bearings weren’t totally destroyed Got lucky on that
Can’t wait to see the dozer up and running
Nice to see your dad Clint ,, he taught you well.
Someone was mad about something and the tractor got the worst end out of it 👍🏻🇺🇲
❤❤waiting on a shop build, a collaboration of just the 3 teenagers @ C&C with guidance and oversight from the boss.
Hi Clint and Kevin, you were really lucky with that engine. I still hope everything goes well for you. You're going to have what you paid for that dozer. Let's not hope that less is better. Thanks for sharing my friends. Have a great evening, and God bless you all at C&C.
a nice good evening from Germany ☕.
Torque Test channel actually did a test between the Snapon u have and the Milwaukee Mid Torque 3/8 smoked the Snapon for 250 bucks too, not 600!
Glad to see Kevin stepping up in the teardown; looks like he was a major asset.
Clint Jr knows his stuff...in every direction...

I like the Milwaukee impact. We are steadily swapping our De-Walt for Milwaukee.
Amazing how little damage was actually caused. Nice to have a win. Thanks for sharing.

Your last western phone call went off with just the right timing. You caught Kevin standing there just like he got off the horse (bow legged). lol
Love the video on this JD Dozer . Clint, Dad and Keven .
I love watching this show,, this episode of the three stooges was mega funny
Shame that the motor had someone help it into destruction mode. Excellent equipment repair content! Thanks!
Great content in this video. At one point I was wondering it the previous users were Fred Flintsone and Barney Rubble. Looking forward to the rebuild.
I never understood why people destroy stuff just to destroy it. That 5 cylinder comment was pretty good.
Having a late night here in the uk watching this instalment, great watching but as the guys have said more episodes for this rebuild, I'm away next thursday so can you put another episode or two up before that please. 🙂👍 thanks guys.
I'd say they pulled out the low hour engine to replace a blown engine. Then put the blown engine in the dozer loosely to get rid of it.

Cosby sauce, always smile when hearing it.
Watching you and your crew rarely gets boring to me. T;earring down or building up, as long as you are nice about it.
That is a real shame someone would damage that engine like that. Always enjoy y’all’s work and content.
what a mess, can't believe what someone did to that motor and then what someone did to try and fix it.
sure enjoy your videos
Would have never thought rocks was in it somebody had a personal problem with this machine for sure but it’s looking like it can be saved 👍😎🇺🇸 NY
Great video 👍 Ask Mr Banks for some tuning tips he's done marine turbo's diesel etc ,Is Kevin allowed a pocket pry bar in the work place 😮
Do Banks twin turbo setup and an overall retune. Gale Banks knows how to tune up the intakes to get more power without wrecking the engine.
Always a great video with a lot of humor. Glad there wasn't more damage to the engine. Looking forward to the next video or two! Thanks Clinton.
Did you say your dad run them draglines back in the day?
Love to see him working yours someday

Down here in Atlanta, the crazies just set fire to the construction equipment. Replace all the plastic and rubber parts, and get it back out working.
