A New Earth-Directed Storm Comes while Another Wanes | Space Weather Spotlight 09 November 2023

- Author's Note: I originally shot this forecast before the Earth-directed storm launched. After I posted an early version for my Patreon community, I saw that indeed Region 3483 and 3484 caused an Earth-directed solar storm to be launched-- exactly what I mentioned might happen! So, instead of tanking the whole forecast and starting over, I decided to augment this one with details about the solar storm launch and update the 5-day outlooks in the process. It seemed to fit, since the forecast was heavily focused on the potential of Region 3483 anyway.
Forecast Synopsis: Our Sun sure has woken up in a big way! We havent even fully calmed down from the big G3-level solar storm we had back on November 5th and already we have another chance for aurora! This is thanks to new regions 3483 and 3484 that have emerged on the Earth-facing Sun quite rapidly. Their explosive growth triggered not only an Earth-directed solar storm launch, but also a mild radiation storm too! Learn the details of this coming solar storm, catch some brief aurora highlights from the recent storm we just had, and see what else our Sun has in store this week.

Scientists recently said we`d only get 20-30 minutes advanced warning if a very dangerous solar event happened. I thought we had hours or days? I can`t keep all my things in Faraday cages 24/7 and if a very serious CME happened I always thought I`d have time to unplug my camper from grid power, disconnect my solar panels, and try to protect my expensive radio receivers, inverters, batteries with BMS boards, etc by shielding them so I can have electricity for basic needs until the grid is repaired.
That’s bc mainstream scientists won’t tell us until then lol. I love the UA-cam channel suspicious observers for this stuff. His earth disaster cycle documentaries are 🔑 key!
I bought a gas generator, a solar generator, stocked up on food supplies to last a while. Not able to do faraday cages on anything. Have the ability to store only about 30 gallons of gas in Jerry cans. I keep my 2 vehicles filled every Sunday so if need be I could siphon from them if need be. I have 2 siphons, one for river water, one for fuel.
I`m stuck in the Louisiana boondocks with no car. I bought a gas generator but have never used it. I decided to invest what little I had in solar batteries because I can`t legally drive on my medications so why waste money on a car. My solar ran my air conditioner through five extreme heat emergency power outages this summer but if another hurricane hits I will need both unless I upgrade my system to keep up with nighttime use too. If I was in a city I could get the parts cheap but not here where everything has to be shipped. @@thurgoodstubbs9670
Just don’t give into fear. No need in worrying about something that will never likely happen in your lifetime.
Flares take minutes while cme’s average 3 days to reach earth. Gotta listen to what it is for how much time you have

No. Just the red aurora you see in those pictures. The blasts of fire mustve come from somewhere else!

Those massive solar storms triggered seizures in several friends of mine and non-stop horrible back pain for me... good thing I had a shielded box to crawl in.
Yikes -- seizures? I hope your friends (and you) are ok. Are they prone to seizures or have underlying neurological conditions already?
@TamithaSkov My brother also has them, always around 2am, but had none. One friend, who lives in England, has had small seizures in the past, but this one was pretty major. He was sleeping in bed and eneded up on the floor with a grand seizure and had to have stiches right above his eye. He is really healthy too, he works out and has a perfect diet, he says it helps. My other friend also lives in England, but I have not heard back from him. I wonder if one area of the world gets hit harder because my brother normally would have one with space weather like this, but he is on meds so it works most of the time. On another note, I have been tracking my wifes migraines for over ten years, she is really sensitive, during solar max she has about 15 migraines a month, it goes down to a few when the solar flares or geo magnetic stroms stop. With a CME, she normally gets 2 migraines, one in right after it goes off and another when the plasma hits 2 or 3 days later.
What kind of shielding do you use against solar flares? I plan on building some kind of protection myself as it triggers migraines for me, that’s why I’m asking.. 😊
@@SacredOwl I highly recommend for your wife ... baco foil , aluminium foil for cooking , yeah that stuff wrapped around her head ..it will help with not receiving solar waves ..mind you if the solar waves contain Jerry Garcia, which is highly likely , dont wear a tin hat ...o.k.

I wish I had seen the aurora that the solar storm produced. We've had cloudy weather until yesterday or the day before. It sure did knock out shortwave signals.
And here's how I remember the difference between a solar flare and a solar storm. The flare is like lightning and the storm is like thunder. Lightning is a quick flash whereas thunder rumbles for a few seconds. So it is with the solar "lightning" and the solar "thunder." I hope that helps somebody defuse the confusion.
That is a really interesting and useful analogy! Even though the physics behind them isnt the same, the fact that flares are just flashes of light like lightning produces, travelling at light speed, but the solar storm travels more slowly, like thunder does at the speed of sound, demonstrates how separate phenomenon that occur at the same place and time can arrive at another location at different times and last for different durations. I will think on how to use such an analogy, responsibly. Thank you.

Do you have a book on Space Weather for the layman? I am a gov contractor and we are trying to bring space weather onto our ops floor. Noone even know what "space weather" means. I need to get smart and educate them properly, so we get the right tools.
I have some materials, but need better to know what your particular use case is. There is so much to know, not just about solar phenomena, but also about Earth effects. Yes, likely the 11th is optimistic. The radiation storm that was being driven by the coming storm is already dying which tells me that the storm is slowing down. November 12 is likely a much better target. I made my best guess of impact time based on early observations of the event. I still think those are reasonable expectations. If the storm hits earlier than the 12th then it will be a stronger impact that is for sure!

This video is confusing. Did you record it before the last solar storm appeared? What you're saying contradicts the illustrations.
Yes, I did, I had even posted an earlier version on my Patreon feed before the new solar storm launched. I decided to update the current version instead of redoing the whole thing so that I could get it out to you all more quickly. I was already talking about the region potentially launching an Earth-directed solar storm so I thought it would be ok to just include the update at the end. It shows that my intuition was correct! @@MarkusGebhard Northern Germany is possible, but only if the storm comes early (like on November 11th) will this one have the potential to compete with the November 5th storm. That one was truly spectacular. If it had been magnetically oriented better, and we hit the core of the storm, we could have seen G4 levels from that one. In this case I will expect G1-G2 level conditions.

I hope the internet gets knocked out, we would be teleported back to the early 90. When people actually looked up and communicated normally.
Here’s a theory, what if it causes that send us back to the stone age type emp, and that’s when all our problems triple. Or only knock us out for a little and that’s where ten days of darkness comes from

how is that eye pain today? I have same... its space weather.. If you have a blood pressure machine, then check it. Space weather dpikes the blood pressure too. It also activates your ceberal spinal fluid to get rid of the massive metabolic waste generated from your body having to adjust to the imcoming space weather. I had to go in my shielding box a lot, back pain was bad. Just to let you know, its not the solar flares triggering geo magnetic activity that causes the back pain, for migraines yes; the front of the solar flare has charged particles and the movoment of pur shield also releases them. If is cosmic ray secondaries for back pain and some mental issues. Where there is pain from cosmic rays, you will find cellualr damage, arthritis, scarring or fibrosis. (it maybe why grandma can predict the weather, as muons cause cloud nucleation, ok that part is a theory) So looknat my channel.. I explain how to build a shielding box...im working on a blanket, so far so good.
My eyes hurt when they rotate. And I'm not alone - many people, young and old, say this on the net. One day my eyes and joints hurt - and the next day I'm jumping like a squirrel and nothing hurts... I know there are cosmic storms that destroy the Earth's magnetosphere and compress the atmosphere. They affect the energy balance of the Earth - and then there are volcanoes and earthquakes as the Earth tries to get back into harmony. The whole climate delusion about man and cow farts is nonsense. It's just the way it is. We've had space weather since the sun and planets were formed but we didn't realize it.
@VE6XTC Never used to affect me in such a negative way as it does nowadays though in my 20s and 30s.... mini strokes and seizures...Wtf is that about? You should see my nutrition...Supplementation and exercise
