Big Flare Players Enter as a Solar Storm Heads for Earth | Space Weather Spotlight 18 November 2023

This week our Sun launches another Earth-directed solar storm, which is predicted to arrive either late on the 19th or early on the 20th. Although the storm is weaker than those from earlier this month, it is strong enough to possibly bump us to storm conditions for a short while, bringing aurora down to mid-latitudes. It will be followed by some short pockets of fast solar wind so we could be in for a bumpy ride through mid-next week. Radio blackout risk remains low, ensuring good propagation conditions for amateur radio operators, but the risk for big flares will start rising this week due to several big -flare players on the farside rotating into earth view. GPS reception should remain in the good range on Earth's dayside over the next few days, with conditions possibly worsening as we move into early next week. However, on earth's nightside, minor issues will likely exist anywhere near aurora during the solar storm. Feb 17 2023 I flew in a plane from Hawaii to mainland- hours after the class x2.2 solar flare
Got extremely unwell midflight and for days following. Had to return to Hawaii the day the CME hit. Unwell for weeks.
Travel your flights safely y’all
(Those with gut issues are more susceptible to acute radiation poisoning…I’m living proof with celiac)

From Dr. Skov's report, Solar Weather should not have been an unexpected factor in the loss of signal with the Space X Starship Rocket Test as the Booster Detached and they had to do a Self Destruct on it 8 minutes in. Still good progress though. That rocket is so big it could carry up the weight of the ISS in 4 trips.

just wrap your phones in a faraday cage or a simple aluminum foil... and it will be safe from solarstorm emp if that keeps you up during night

How I wish someone could do this kind of updates on the Pacific rim area particularly the Southeast Asia including Guam, PNG, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia and my country, the Philippines. I'm sure once this is made, many of us, Filipino would subscribe and support this channel. Recently, we had a magnitude 7.2 earthquake but noone seems to know why. Was a coronal hole facing our area at that time? I really want to know?
There is no connection between space weather and earthquakes.

Some astrophysicists believe that when a coronal hole appear and facing Earth, it disturbs the inner core of our planet causing earthquakes and waking up volcanoes and even creating new ones. Check it again. There must be a correlation

Ive noticed that when we get solar flares hitting earth, the weather goes off the charts too.
As I noted.. today is December 10 we have a storm that stands from Canada to Mexico. Look at the radar! These solar flares are affecting our weather!

A Solar "storm" has only one thing in common with an earthly storm and that is the flow of charge. There is no wind coming at us, nor clouds just a stream of positively charged ions flowing out from the sun, a current, an electric current. A stream of ions, positive or negative is a flow of current.
