I really love your channel, Cannon has been my number one brand for years. Two weeks ago, I purchased the Sony A7 iii from watching your videos. I have failing in love with the A7 iii, very good quality. Thank you so much ☺️
So good to hear you so fascinated about Poland. I hope you find some time to visit Kraków and southern Poland during your next visit. I would love to see my city through your eyes and lens and perhaps to become inspired again. Best wishes as always!
Hi Julia ! 🤩WOW ! Great to see the travel vlogs are back. You make travel so much fun ! You get all of us to learn from you and see things from a NEW perspective. Yay ! Thank you 😃👋🙏
I must say your approach in introducing us to 35f1.4 is amazing. It doesnt speak about spec or technical, instead of depicting a practicality. Thank you, i am planning to go to tibet next week but i wasnt sure whether i should bring 35 or 85 for my 24-70 gm ii companion?
You take beautiful pictures whether they are the curved lines of pretty models or the hard lines and perspective of architecture! 24mm is the way to go! 😍😍
Now i can see a city where I'm living, from a new perspective, such a beautiful experience. I must take my camera and do some shots soon too. btw. I love Weranda too 😌
Another wonderful, engaging story. Thank you for sharing. Nice to see this more casual side of you and Dan together, your sweetness toward one another is touching
Hey ! Great video, me and my friends are coming to Poznan in 2 weeks could you let me know which places to visit and which bakeries & restaurants to visit and the temperature daily 😊thanks!! X
Often when I do street work, depending a little on the time of day anď sunlight, I still find that very, very underated- in fact nobody even mentions it, Sony Zeiss 35 2.8 is just a brilliant lens. Have never really needed something like a 1.4- very shallow dof?
I was searching through your channel for a general-purpose prime - not for portraits. Maybe the 35mm would be a good choice (vs 50, 85, 105 and 135 for instance)?
Julia this is great content, i think u should make this kind of video regularly because this kind of video is for general audience i think, make a video that general audience can understand
Hey Julia, very good video. It helps me visualise and understand this focal length even better. I wonder if you don’t mind to do a 50mm video for travelling?
It’s funny how you say Poland is so pretty. I am from Poland and when I am there it is so hard for me to get inspired 🙈 grass is always greener on the other side!
I am so excited about your footage. If have heard Poznań is such a beautiful city. Polish cuisine is also said to be very delicious. What are your favorite places in Poznań? Wish you and hole Team a wonderful day. Thank you so much for this wonderful video!!! 😍👏
Thank you! I agree, Polish food is delicious. I honestly just love wandering around the old streets of Poznan, there's something special about the city that I love!
Hi Julia! Noticed you didn't bring your A7C with you. Do you find *that* much of a difference between the A7iv and the A7C when it comes to purely travel non-paying gig photography? I mean in terms of convenience, smaller body, lighter body, etc. I have the A7iv and I'm on the fence about buying an A7C purely for travel. :) Love seeing you and Dan just hang out - Poland looks fab!
Not bringing the A7C was such a sad choice for me honestly! But ultimately Dan and I decided to only bring one camera body each to make days out easier for ourselves and also so we could bring more lens options instead lol. The main reason I decided to bring my A7IV over the C is that I was planning on doing some portrait photoshoots during this trip (which we did quite a few of them!) and I really love the image quality and resolution of the 4 for that.
@@juliatrotti Thanks so much for such a thoughtful answer. I decided to grab an A7c for everyday and non-paid-gig travel :) I hear you about packing logistics! We're going to Jamaica and my son (8) is really into photography so we're trying to figure out what to bring, how much to bring, not weigh down the bag by 40 pounds - lol. Safe travels to you and Dan!
Yes!! We went there at the end of our road trip, it's been high on my list to visit for a long time and I loved it :) it will be part of another vlog I have coming in the future!
I agree, I forgot to pack my 35mm on my last trip and ended up only having my 24 and 50. I realized how much more I liked the 24 than the 35. The 35GM got the boot when I got back because it was such a boring purchase for me. 24/50/85 for travelling now!
Unfortunately the 24 was Dan's only lens for video so I didn't want to steal it from him haha but I really want to visit a city with only a 24 to see how it goes! I was really tempted by it on this trip
I’m so happy I finally have time to edit these! Hahah I can’t believe it either, but then I ended up taking all these photos on my 35 and I’m happy with them so maybe I’m being indecisive for nothing. And yep, I still have my 20 - I’m using it for the vlogging shots in this whole video!
Thank you! Ah these vlogs are a bit messy to colour grade because I shot a mixture of S-log, Cinetone and Standard picture profile hahah but I have my personal vlog LUT applied to everything and I just tweak each of the clips for exposure and white balance.
Poznan was actually one of the only places we didn't wake up at sunrise haha I think because lots of the city was under construction it wasn't as busy as it normally is in summer.
That’s my city! :) So happy You’ve enjoyed it. Yeah, the construction has been (and still is) a pain in the **, but hopefully it’s all for the best. It’s kinda refreshing to see these places, that I know so well, through somebody elses perspective. Let me know if You’d like some pics after the construction is done. :)
I did!! I have actually been to Poznan once before about 5-6 years ago (there are some very old photoshoot behind the scene videos on my channel if you scroll way back) so I have seen it when it's not under construction thankfully!
Woow. I watched some of your camera comparisons and lenses. Nice to see you in my city. What a surprise. Enjoy your stay!!! A little bit unlucky because many restorations and renovations started in Poznań and this city lost a lot of its charming view. The city is dug up everywhere. Any many works stooped or slow down because many workers come back to Ukraine fight for their country.
I didn't know Dan is originally from Poland (his last name sounds Polish, though). Now I'm becoming curious how you guys met, if you ever want to talk about it 🙂 Oh, Prague is really beautiful for photoshoots, I come from the Czech Republic, so I know what I'm talking about, although I live quite a long way from Prague 😁
I agree, we have visited many times but there are STILL some places we want to go to. We went to Szczecin once before many years ago to see a friend and we went this time as well, it's such a great city!
Do you have any use for something long? I feel like a 135 or 70-200 might be a really nice to add to the mix. But yeah, it really depends on what you shoot/your style of photography!
Honestly nowadays I'm leaning towards 24, especially because 24 is such a nice focal length for video too and I do a mixture of both! I ended up only using the 35mm for photos in this video :)
No wonder you are looking for a 24mm... I first thought at 0:49 that you would actually trick us into believing this was the actual shot, camera held in landscape, picture being portrait. But then I saw this pattern again at 1:39 and... yep - you're getting portraits out of landscapes. Sure you don't wanna add an A7RV behind that soon-to-come 24mm? 😀 Ah, forget about me, no one will notice 😄
I did not crop any landscape shots into portrait in this video. I usually shoot one landscape one portrait photo of the same location and choose afterwards which one to edit! Just happened to be the video shot I got that didn’t line up with the photo haha
I am from Pakistan city Karachi I am your big fan also I have my channel name is Sebastian show photography. I learn lots of photography tip or trick in your videos...

How beautiful the sun light in the beginning of this video
Thank you Julia, have a nice time in Prague, and a new video from Prague
Thank you!
So many seem to be going tighter now (40mm for example) so it was refreshing to hear you say you want wider - me too.
So good to hear you so fascinated about Poland. I hope you find some time to visit Kraków and southern Poland during your next visit. I would love to see my city through your eyes and lens and perhaps to become inspired again. Best wishes as always!

yes 24GM!!!! gogogogo
I’m curious to know why you weren’t using a larger f/stop besides f/1.4 on your street/building photos? Was the larger aperture needed for low light?
Often when I do street work, depending a little on the time of day anď sunlight, I still find that very, very underated- in fact nobody even mentions it, Sony Zeiss 35 2.8 is just a brilliant lens. Have never really needed something like a 1.4- very shallow dof?

Always love your travel vlogs...So good! Oh...you traveled with the 200-600? I have done that too.. What a pain. It takes up so much space..
Thanks Steven! Haha yep we did, it is such a big lens but it was worth carrying it around, I got some great shots with it :)
