I rreallllly appreciated this video-- when I travel I really don't like to bring more than one lens with me, so this type of review was great vs. those who review while keeping in mind a whole kit!
I love love LOVE 35mm 1.8, BUT for travel I really want to get the Sony Zeiss 35mm f/2.8. I’ll probably regret not bringing something with a wider aperture because I love wide angle with shallow depth of field, but you just can’t beat how small an A7C with that almost pancake lens is. And taking the really shallow depth of field away from my bag of tricks will challenge me even more next time I travel. Regardless of what lens you bring though, bringing only one focal length takes some serious balls IMO.
Love your videos Toms! This is a month away, but can you do a Black Friday shopping list style video for cameras and lenses that you recommend to keep an eye out for at different price points?
Thanks buddy! Ahh I would love to, will try my best, but don’t promise. I’ve already recorded 4 videos that haven’t gotten around to edit them but will do what I can. If not for black friday, perhaps for Christmas 🎅
@@rekinxxxl Yes but I meant that a 35mm on APS-C is 50mm equivalent. As you say, Toms must have been using FF (I wasn't sure which Sony he was using 👍🏻).

Hey Miranda! Thanks so much for the kind words! Glad the video was helpful and good luck with your channel 🙌
those street shots in turkey are amazing!
Great opportunities wherever you turn 🤌
Your pics from Istanbul are fabulous! Looking forward to a video too! Based on the outcome, the choice of the lens was wise.
Thank you buddy! Im getting more and more used to this focal length, really liking it 👍

Yeah, finally new video
Lots of new videos are filmed, now just need to edit them so stay tuned 💪
Hi Toms, it might be a good idea to clarify if that is 35mm full frame or, in the case of APS-C, 50 mm equivalent ?
35mm FF , 23mm APSC equivelent

Granted, he does have it listed next to images with Sony A7IV and the lens :P@@mc5869
You are absolutely right MC, I should’ve clarified - I meant the 35mm focal length so as Rekinxxxl says, that would be the 35 on ff and 23 on apsc.
Sony FE 35mm 1.8 vs Samyang AF 35mm 1.8. Your thoughts? :)
Wait two weeks and answer might surprise you 🫣
You got me intrigued 😏😄
Yeap, excellent in all sorts of conditions except for vlog and talking heads shots. This is when 24mm would weigh in a little bit better.
You are 100% right. Ive been neglecting 24mm for too long thinking its bit “too wide” but now thinking back when I had a loner, I enjoyed it so much
