Kalahira, this one’s heart is pure, but is beset by wickedness. Guide this one Kalahira and he will be a friend to you as he was to me. Good old Thane, selfless to the end.
I’m surprised that we never see any Hanar with a Drell in game. In the 1st game it makes sense cuz they probably hadn’t been thought of yet, but we never see it in 2 or 3. I know there’s not enough Drell for every Hanar but I would expect the ones leaving the water to take a helper with them.
you see the drells loyalty in mass effect 2-3 with thane in that even though he is dieing he still comes with you in 2 and still risks his life to help in 3 this for me was the saddest event in the entire game as i had come to really like him as a char and to see him fall at that door chasing the assassin after having fought him off almost by himself was heartbreaking
I had a dream that the Mass Effect franchise was reinvigorated by a new game called "Mass Effect: Rakhana Prospector" that's story was a little foggy, but vivid. A new engineering process allowed a heavy element isotope that was previously considered dangerous trash that was found in abundance on Rakhana to be refined into high grade Element Zero. You played a "Prospector" an individual the Citadel Council approved to stake/sell/etc claims to the various Mass Effect factions, all of which had their own interests and tactics, and the main branching story basically involved helping or harming the interests of these factions, or emergent factions on Rakhana and the inhabitants and such. In my dream it played kind of like Fallout but with biotics, but the perspective wasn't as fixed. I know it doesn't really make sense given the ending of 3, but I was honestly really disappointed when I woke up and realized the game wasn't real at all.
heh, thanks man. With the way things have gone I think it will probably remain in dreamland, but it's safe to say the series has definitely had a huge impact on my life. I was disappointed, but inspired, and maybe someone else with the right talent will make a similar game or one inspired by the same sort of things. Thanks for hoping with me.
I've had a few dreams that I think would make interesting games. Unfortunately I start forgetting mayor details as I wake up. 😳 To fast to write it down. If only we could record our dreams! 😂
I like how you dig into the cultural info provided into the came and explore it as much as you can without making something that's too speculative. I especially dug your interpretation behind their religion and what they must have felt when the Hanar arrived to save them and their seeing Kahje.
I'd like to but I feel I'd need to make time to watch enough to draw conclusions (having seen barely any Stargate and only a bot of b5), otherwise I'm just reciting facts from a wiki page. :/
Look this is a great video and all. But the soundtrack just makes me think of old school Arch Warhammer talking about The Orcs I mean not for any political reasoning or anything its just he used this music.....almost like its copyright free or some something....
Shame about not having much to do with them as ied have loved a game set only on somewhere like omega, imagine a detective style game that has you in the boots of a drell or salarian gum shoes type character trying to uncover who is behind a string of murders (not every ME game needs to save the whole galaxy) shame that with MEA been set up to fail by the higher ups at Biowear it failed and we won’t be seeing any more ME setting, and it was a great setting, there is few settings I could see as been real (Star Wars, Babylon 5, Star Trek DS9 but not the rest of ST) and the mass effect setting is one of them.
the hanar are nothing more than big stupid jelly fish as seen in mass effect 3 when that one at the citadel turns off the defense grid because he finds out the prothens are turned into the collecters so to me they will always be big stupid jelly fish
Mon Calamari (RIP Ackbar)
Certifiably Ingame Legends please.
Ice Warriorssss....sss.ss...s
then the Zentradi from SDF Macross (not Robotech) after this.
Certifiably Ingame it's very cool being an ice warrior.... I'll show my self out

That sounds like a cool concept for an ME universe-set game, and I hope that one day soon, your dream comes true. :)

That's an excellent idea

Bro if you really remember all that shit, you're a drell IRL

Please do some races from the endless universe like the lumeris or the sophons or even the humans of that universe.
I'm sure someone else has said this but seas are often associated with afterlives on earth aswell.
I like your channel!!!
Thx for this! At this point content like this is clearly soul food for me ^-^' I miss the ME2 days...a lot.
I always thought of Kepral's syndrome as a form of emphysema... seems like a pretty screwed-up downside of their life on Khaje
I like your videos, thanks for taking the time to make them
Mon Calamari please,....with some cocktail sauce as well....
Male Shepard & Kaden Forever...............I mean, good video about the Drell:)
Off topic... Will you be doing Cultural Indexes on other TV shows, like Babylon 5 or Stargate?
I'd like to but I feel I'd need to make time to watch enough to draw conclusions (having seen barely any Stargate and only a bot of b5), otherwise I'm just reciting facts from a wiki page. :/
Mon calamari! Best ship makers in the Galaxy
Well, if memory serves, reptiles in real life have 4 skin pigments instead of one as its the case in mammals. So it makes sense XD
Ignoring the part that the Drell are aliens and stuff
i love your videos
(Unauthorized first contact and then illegal migration and finally enslavement).
Those Hanar are real heros
It's not enslavement and how is it "illegal" when it's to their own planet?
"also of you lick them you'll trip balls" 😂
do Human of Star trek and Xindi-Primate
Mon calamari

He was indoctrinated. They were pretty clear on that.
