That looks awsome. I'm giving it a go myself for the first time making a compass slab for my uncle's house to go in the yard. I never realized that you could just use plastic mesh one hour after twisting up a bunch of wire😂 Making stuff is fun😅
If you’re using it as a kitchen counter, ardex will look rubbish in no time as it doesn’t have the hardness of microcement. Microcement is a polymer based product, kind of like a mix of resin and cement.
@@RefreshHomeImprovements I'm planning on creating a foundation base on which water pump will be installed. I've bought wire to create a mesh. will use it inside cement filling. will it be added strength? any suggestions?
Z forms are trash. I use regular lumber wrapped in packing tape with silicone caulking in the corners, 3000 psi cement only mix (different than concrete) with pea gravel and 2% liquid calcium chloride. After thousands of sqft of countertops this is by far the best method i have found
Just a quick misconception to everyone choice of words on concrete. You do not pour concrete, workers Concrete is placed in the desired location. Great job on how well the counter top finished out.
It sure poured out of that bucket they weren’t placing it with there hands or any tools. I hate when I was in the union and they would correct that term not even true masons say placing concrete because no one actually grabs the concrete and places it we throw it and pour it.
That oatmeal came out great! 👍
So good 🙌
Needs more raisins
This is like spending a fortune having your room replastered, then covering it in woodchip wallpaper.
That looks awsome.

Have fun! We agree!
Your final job looked good 👍
Looks nice! What sealant did you end up using?
Ardex sd-m?
What is the white mortar you used on your last surface? How is it made? With love from Turkey.
It’s Ardex Feather Finish
@@RefreshHomeImprovementsIs that not that a underlayment? Looks great
Future reference, use a release agent around the Forum.
Cooking oil outta work just fine
The concrete needs to be looser and will pour better with less screeding. Looks good tho
Good tip 👍 Thanks
It doesn't matter. They covered it with something else to have a smooth finish.
@@crustyflatonion9595 it does matter, it's easier to work with from the start.
No, oatmeal consistency is what you want for countertops
Say more about Artex...why? Just to color match? How does it impact the strength, durability, etc
Because of colour, yep!
If you're coating it why do you make it out of concrete? Stained concrete would have more value correct?
I love the idea but the cost of the cheap plastic forms that you throw away is outrageous.
Great video… how is it holding up
Perfect
One way to ruin a concrete counter top... cover it in Artex 🤢
😂👍
coated with Ardex? whats that? epoxy?
We used their feather finish to replicate a MicroCement finish.

Vegan friendly counter top
What concrete is that
Check out our full video👍
Try polishing
Why use wire mesh
The mesh comes with the product for added strength💪

Any videos on this method. Would love to see it before I do my Bathroom counter.
Any videos of your method? Interested
Apreciate you
Wait you recomend doing 100% cement with wire and no aggregate?
So i would do fine with the 90lbs bags of cement from depot?
Thanks
Sandmix really?😂

So it was pointless then yes 👏🏼 👍🏼 good job num nuts
Don't ever ever pour concrete on counter top. Tell your client to get dem granite. Concrete is disgusting, I have it - speaking from experience.
That's ugly.
Thanks! 😅👍
Concrete counter tops are doodoo looking.
All this stupid work just got buy some granite or quartz
Granite is so 80’s
