You can surely use flower leaves and stems, but it is the root that has all the good properties. And when you have harvest the plant you should just let it rest for a day or two and then chop it up and put in alcohol 50/50 or 96% When it hangs in the broad daylight and sun it bleeches and loses some of the wanted medicinal strongness. I also wanted to say that if you heat the tincture so it is too hot to drink, it will also lose the medicinal properties as well as the alcohol.
