Hi Kim! Thank you!!! I'm so glad you found me! I feel like I'm getting a more keen eye as I learn more with each experience! It's so fun. I appreciate that though...it's very encouraging! :)
So so good, right!? It was SUCH a fun sale. I only wish you could have the possibility of meeting the person and complementing their taste! I believe that about the Singer sewing machine.
Omg, I just pulled out of the parking lot. Again. 😂 If you ever see me, say hello! It’s a good one. Glad you’re enjoying my channel…good to have you here! ☺️
I love your channel and your enthusiasm! The quilts are amazing. I inherited quilts some antique and some vintage. My grandma was a quilter and she made appliqué quilts for twin beds. Lots of appliqué quilts. Her daughter, my aunt also quilts and won first place in world contest a few years ago. Every year you need to get the quilts out and shake them out and kinda throw them in an unfolded pile. This prevents them from getting wear from them being folded. There’s special soap at quilt stores to launder them. I’m going to send you the name of a stain remover that is sold at fabric shops. It’s something grandmas and works. My MIL Was a navy nurse in Panama. She brought back embroidery placements that are still in the original package. My grandmother painted an entire set of China, 8 place settings and 4 pieces in each place. She knitted me cardigan sweaters, made me 5 dresses for 1st grade, sewed all my Chatty Cathy doll clothes (I still have them), embroidered dresser scarfs, knitted afghans, baked cherry pies from her cherry tree, she did it all. She was Swedish and her parents immigrated here to Iowa/Illinois. The Winnie the Pooh pictures are so cute! I put Mary Engelbrett pictures in my daughter’s room. She retires her prints so if you see them pick them up. If you ever get to Iowa, stop in Kalona near Iowa City. There’s a nice size Amish community there. Lots of quilts. They have a fall festival where they sell them. A couple antiques shops too. There’s a store out in the country that is Amish. I buy my wooden spoons there. Over on the west side of Iowa is Walnut Iowa. Best antiques in the state. They have a utube channel. Several years ago I took my mom and sister to where my grandfather grew up in Illinois. We went to Galesburg. Wonderful antique shops there. But estate sales are the best. I always remember which house I bought certain things. You can tell what the people were like when you go. Nice things usually. I’m in the process of buying a large set of Fostoria American dishes. I inherited a set from my grandma and am turning the one set into two so my daughters can each have a set. Sorry so long winded, take care, Jan
Wow, amazing stories, Jan! Yes, I actually grew up in a small town known for its Amish population and we have several good family friends who are Amish, so we see quilts often. ☺️ Yes, that stain remover is like Grandma’s stain something or other. I know what you’re talking about. That’s great to know about the Winnie the Pooh prints being retired. They’re precious. Be well, Jan! Thank you!
This video made me smile. I love your taste. The quilts are Wedding Ring and Drunkards Path. What a great find; the Wedding Ring quilt is an advanced pattern. Too bad the quilter didn't label them since she did such great work.
How interesting! Now that you say that, I bet you’re right! What a wonderful little trinket to have! Now I need to boil some eggs! Might have to keep it now ☺️
I was just at one two weeks ago on the Northside. It’s definitely worth a visit. However, I have to say, estate sales are my favorite I think. Download the EstateSales.net app…you can put in your zip code and see a map of sales around you including pictures, so you get an idea of if you’d like to go or not.
if you had some time for adventure, there is a goodwill in Niles/Skokie on Toughy and then one in Evanston on Dempster and Dodge then somewhere in evanston there is a salvation army...are relatively close to the edens and each other
I used to get infusions near the Evanston one during my pregnancy, so I tried the Niles/skokie one a couple times and never had much luck. The Evanston one I’ve had a couple scores, but it’s a bit of a hike for me. Thank you for the suggestions though! Ironically I just passed that Salvation Army the other day I think, but didn’t have time to stop. I think some day I’ll give that a try! 👍
In looking up comps also look up how many is selling. Compare what is listed to how many has sold. And look up how much it was sold for, not just how much it is listed for. You don’t want to get anything that has a sell percentage under 50%.
Okay, THIS is the stuff that I need to get a better grip on. Thank you so much for imparting your knowledge! What's the easiest way to see what something has sold for? I think I figured it out on Ebay the other day, but now I don't even remember. They don't make it super easy to find out...or at least I have not found an easy way. Me. I'm the problem it's me. Lol. Thank you again, Kim!

I'm sorry but I will not be subscribing I do have a problem when buyers keep saying oh isn't that cute but I don't want it. And we don't find out what you do want like or buy
Oh I buy plenty, but I can’t buy it all because I’m almost maxed out on space as it is. I bought quite a lot at that estate sale, which is shown in the haul at the end, but maybe you didn’t make it to that section. I respect your decision though…hopefully you give it another shot at some point. ☺️
Love your videos! These quilts are just all amazing! So pretty! 💙🩵
I thought so too! What great finds! Thank you, Trudy! Glad you’re here! 😃
The quilts are in such lovely condition. The ring one is the pattern “Double Wedding Ring “. Beautiful! 😍

Beautiful finds at the estate sale. I believe the quilts are Wedding Ring and Drunkard's Path. ❤
That sounds right, Donna! I’ve heard of Wedding Ring, but Drunkard’s Path is a new one for me…the perfect name for it though! Thank you!
