- The Dewalt 2100psi 1.2gpm Electric Pressure is the newest offering from Dewalt's Pressure Washer line up. A Sleek design with some of the best on board storage I have seen from any electric pressure washer. It comes with an integrated telescoping handle and wheels for easy transport. A strong caged frame allowing for other items to be stacked on top of it when moving it from job to job or just storing it in your garage. By all appearances, this little electric pressure washer looks amazing and different than many other electric pressure washers. But how does it stack up to its competition when talking about performance? Well, In this video i test the actual usable PSI and GPM, noise level, and amperage draw to find out just how well it compares to other similarly rated units. ENJOY!!!

I just bought this pressure washer based on your video and I really appreciate it and the fact that you listed where to get the other hose and connections.. I bought it directly from your link made it so easy appreciate it man thank you.
Great Vid thank you. I am a 15 year Car detailer turned to motorcycle Mechanic. I took all my skills and added them to motorcycles.
I like how compact that unit is. Definitely a space saver. Great review as always 👏.
Bro you are the absolute authority on pressure washers. Love the videos
Really appreciate this review. Was thi king about getting this unit to start my car detail business. 👌
Very good and thorough review. That little DeWalt pressure washer looks IMPRESSIVE! Really well thought out, especially with that on-board storage, telescopic handle, on-board tip storage in the handle (which looks stout). And with the DeWalt name, hopefully it lasts like their other power tools which lasts for YEARS and YEARS! Very nice looking little unit. For a enthusiast just getting into more extensive detailing, this little unit would be perfect.
Dude from this day on I'm not watching anyone but you and Apex, couldn't be happier ☺
Excellent review. This made me change my mind on this product...I'm going with the 2400.
Clear and concise review. Well done and thank you.
Looks like a great pressure washer, thanks Josh 👍😁
Old PW just game up the ghost and this one looks like a no brainer for me, Dewalt makes good stuff.
Review gave me way more info than what I was looking for. Thanks!
you bet!
Just received mine from HD. Your review is spot on. For sure the hose needs to be greatly improved otherwise seems to be a well built unit. Thanks for the nozzle data. !
I have the Dewalt 2100 PSI 1.2 GPM Pressure Washer. I use it to clean the vinyl fence and to clean concrete also to wash the car. I put a pressure gauge on my unit to check the PSI. With the white spray nozzle I typically see pressure readings of 1400 PSI. I use the white spray nozzle for cleaning the fence and it does a great job. The Yellow spray nozzle I use to clean concrete and typically I see pressure readings of 1700 PSI. The Yellow spray nozzle does a fantastic job cleaning concrete it is just slower than a bigger unit. I have seen the line pressure on my gauge go as high as 2600 PSI and the output pressure reading at the nozzle at a steady and amazing pressure of 2200 PSI.
Josh, just picked up one of these pressure washers after watching many many or your reviews and detailing videos. It has decent numbers and should be perfect for what I am looking for. Got the last one at my local HD. Already ordered the UberFlex, quick connects, foam cannon, and nozzle tips so looking forward to putting it to use on our cars. Thanks for doing such a thorough job on all these various brand reviews as well as the other auto detailing videos. It is much appreciated!
Jeff: did you manage to find a quick connect to attach your foam cannon to the trigger? I’ve tried, but ¼” is too small and 3/8” is too big. 😩
@@e46Kyle I never found a fitting to put a cannon directly on the Dewalt gun and actually purchased a separate gun for the cannon. However I am getting pump surging with this setup so not sure if changing the orifice in the cannon would help.
This worked perfectly for what i wanted. I have a pontoon boat and the deck is vinyl. The seam where the boat seats meets the floor is hard to clean with a brush and you have to get down on your hands and knees to do it. This thing worked great. Not only does it ckean well, but the nozzle reaches perfectly. I dont need a lot of pressure, just an easy way to clean cordlessly. I store the unit in a locked compartment and just carry the battery back and forth.
Battery?
I recently picked one up on sale ($200). I purchased the the recommended Uberflex hose for mine. The kinky stock hose drove me nuts and is the only negative I have on this unit. It was obviously built to a price point. The suitcase design is a storage game changer. It should win an award. Excellent tip on the UberFlex hose!
Success.....I know from reading many of the comments, that many of you like myself have wanted to make the gun a "Stubby" as Josh mentioned in his video. They might make one, however I couldn't find anything that would work directly with the OEM thread (14mm 1.5 pitch by the way). what I finally did was take the gun apart, remove the OEM fitting on the end. This is a 1/8 pipe thread, at this point you just need a reducing bushing. I went from 1/4 to 1/8, then added on the 1/4 quick connect fitting. Put the gun back together and it looks like it came that way.....minus the Teflon tape....LOL I shot a small video and will post it to my channel when I get a minute so you can see what the finished product looks like. Hope this helps a few of you out there and I would like to thank Josh for sharing his time and knowledge to the rest of us.
Thank you for the help and explanation I just don't understand why Dewalt couldn't have just manufactured the OEM on the gun this way in the first place smh.
@@Buddy-sg8hd Your most welcome and I wonder that often about many products.
i have been fighting this for the last few days trying to make it a stubby handle could never find the right reducer. annoying they have to make stuff difficult lol
@@jacobfisk9427 I left a video on how to make this a stubby. I have used it several times now. Works great
thanks for this. Sounds like this machine is a go then. Will pick it up tomorrow and tackle this within the next day or two. Thanks again! Cheers!
Just picked one of these up! Thanks for your reviews, helped me to decide go with the DeWalt v Greenworks for what I’m going to use it for. I’m off to your Amazon links for ultra flex because that OEM hose is really bad.
Love your Galaxy! Thank ya for the test
What an awesome and thorough review. Ended up pulling the trigger on this one! This channel is so insightful, and this guy is very honest and positive! Hope this guy explodes on UA-cam
Recently acquired this unit and so far super happy. I researched this first and price point is a premium for the clever design. The suitcase size, storage bin, and ease of use are major factors. It has an axial pump, so heavy everyday use isn't advised. And yes the hose sucks.
Are axial pumps prone to failure? Just curious
@@Speedstack21 yes, compared to an oscillating pump their life expectancy is about a third. It deals with the components and mechanical wear. I've now had mine half a year and love it. Handle is a awkward to put in and the nozzles fall in the storage part; otherwise love it.
@@help33etk thanks!
Still in use best to you
@@help33etk i got mine with an asurion 3yr warranty from amazon. Honestly having it fail naturally would be nice I'd just use the credit for a better one with oscillating pump! Thanks for the info
Can you make a video on which Generators you recommend for a mobile detailing set up? Thanks and great vid!
Hey man thanks for the information 👍. Very helpful sir !
Great review as always. It would've been better if the extension would come with a quick connect to the gun so you can switch from a long to a short or vice versa. Price Is a little steep, but you're comparing to a higher end tool brand. Good job.
Just got myself one and it’s fantastic, I did upgrade to the Uber flex hose tho. But one thing is in the manual it does say to use the unit lay down. Awesome video!
is the uber flex hose superior?
Thanks to this review I hit up my local Facebook Marketplace and found a unit for sale. I won't go into any details of my purchase experience but lets just say I scored a new warranty replaced unit from Dewalt for $70 CAD. One thing you missed about the handle is the locking tab which is inset on the plastic frame, excellent idea.
Great review
Great video again Josh! Is there anyway we can get that gun by itself? Or do you have a link for a comparable gun that holds the tips?
Nice review, looks like a great unit. Love how compact it is; for the same price point as the Greenworks 2300, it pulls lesser but still good PSI/GPM numbers but it doesn't have that annoying delay, huge plus. I have more faith in Dewalt's reliability than Hart, Greenworks or Ryobi. Seems totally worth it, just wish every $200+ pressure washer came with an uberflex or similar hose.
You get what you pay for. Cheap pressure washers are just that... cheap. Imported units must come with a hose and trigger. Some kind of law.
just ordered one!
DeWalt took a page from Bosch with power box radio. Using there roll cage idea on this that's a nice idea my friend owns a cleaning business and uses a gas powered pressure washer I should tell him about this
The design and durability looks great, fantastic design. I'd like to see how this compares to the ryobi and chemical guys pro-flow, or other compact washers. Looking to make a very mobile kit that fits in a trunk with everything but still works well so this one is high on my list now.
Gteat review. What was the decibel app you were using?
Seems like a nice unit. The internal storage is nice in theory but if you have to take wand apart every time might be a pain. Quick connect might help. Thanks for your content. Can you do a video about best one step paint correction before ceramic coating please?
DeWalt has now come out with a 3000 psi it would be great to see a review on that.
Agreed, does the 3000 let you adjust the power to 2000 if needed? (Washing home aluminum siding)
The max operating out-put pressure can be effected by the supply water pressure too. In a commercial setting you can have higher city water pressure than you would have at your home. I run an average of 55 to 60 psi in my house because it has a regulator on it. At my garage it comes straight off the water meter and there isn't a regulator for the 1 hose bib that I have down there and, that usually runs around 130 to 140 psi. Crazy water hose pressure too, I usually replace 1 or 2 garden hoses a year because I'm to cheap to buy GOOD hoses LOL... My electric pressure washer says it's a 1900 psi unit but, connected to the house I only get around 1600 to 1675 psi. At the garage, I gets closer to 1800. No, it still doesn't reach 1900 psi but you see my point. So for me it seems to make a difference. Thank you for the review, Have a good day!
Another 1.2 GPMb🤦🏼♂️🙅♂️ come on, enough is enough!!!!!! (Referring to makers and brands) you’re awesome brother, thank u for all your hard work
great video quick question why do you recommend not using the soap tank
Great bud. I’m debating about getting this or Adams washer. Which would you recommend?
Have you done a review on the new 3000psi DeWalt? Great videos!
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
From a user's perspective washing an old muscle car, lower psi for the soap and rinse nozzles is good, so it doesn't get under light seals and covers or are too hard on trims. An adjustable nozzle is even better. Very nice review.
It would be cool to see a review update if you were able to make it a stubby and use it in your business.
You can ! M14x1.5 female to 1/4 NPT male
Sounds exactly like the harbor freight unit I bought that lasted a month. It's probably the same pump in a different package, just like most out there
Appreciate your reviews Josh. I wish you would run the foam cannon test with each review though. Considering seriously this DeWalt unit, but wonder if the brushless Ryobi 2300 is better or worse?
I’m stuck with the same decision. What did you end up with?
@@michaelmendoza5361 the Ryobi and its been great so far. Used it to clean entire driveway, back decking, patio furniture, siding on house and several car washes.
@@rollingreclinerRecumbent good to know! The only reason I want the dewalt is the storage, but there is a ry 2300 for $180 at a liquidation sale. So I may end up getting that now. Thanks!
You said the Ryobi 2400 was your favorite but the picture and words on the screen are Dewalt 2400. Which one should I look at as well? Thank you. Great information.
would u get dewalts other pressure washer with the bigger wheels?
Do you no what quick connect goes on the end of the wand for the foam cannon?
I just bought this for my car I'm an uber driver 🙃 thanks for the awesome review 🙌
Awesome video! Do you have the link for the stubby adapter that you mentioned at 18:00 ? I have this exact pressure washer and would prefer to have it shorter like you mentioned... Just need to get that adapter.. also don't see it in the description...TIA!
Great videos
With you testing all kinds of electric pressure washer is it worth the money…. In your own opinion which one will you recommend the best
@imjoshv Great video. Is there an attachment to allow me to add 1/4” quick connect to the front of the wand handle to make it a stubby with quick connect spray tips? Similar to the Mckillans design but with the DeWALT handle?
When i store this for winter in my shed can i use pump saver with this to winterize it like i do with my gas powered unit?
What advice do you have for someone using ceramic coating for the first time and what’s a good product?
I’m the video you stated you don’t recommend ever using the built in fluid container, what do you recommend instead? Is their an attachment that works with the wand provided? Looking to mainly do sidewalks, driveways and exterior of home.
thanks for the review! would you say you could do some light duty sidewalk cleaning with this unit? or mainly just for car detailing?
I’m looking for a pressure washer for home washing. Would you get this dewalt unit and use the Uber flex hose or get the adams 2.0? It’s on sale this weekend. Thanks. I love your videos.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 very nice review thank you
please do a review of the costco husqvarna 3200 psi gas pressure washer
Really like the handle and wand(extension) as you mention, I want to buy out side of US but I could not find other than the US(parts store for DeWalt only for domestic) any suggestions to have this handle and wand out side of the US or you can help me to purchase and ship?
What hose would you recommend replacing the factory one with?
Can you do a review on this vs the Stanley 2150 pressure washer ?
Awesome video, I may have to get one of these. I didn't see a link for the 1/4" quick connect that you talked about at the end of the video. What thread is it coming out of the gun?
Same here... Anybody found the connector?
Could the hose be the limiting factor on the psi Max?
Like 👍🏼 videos keep them coming I watch them all and even go back and watch them
But have you ever thought about testing the ryobi 1800 pressure washer
That’s what I want to see thanks have a great day
Terrific review Josh. I do normally like Dewalt products BUT they do get a bit pricey at times. Longevity testing might be in order?
What about storing the accessories with quick connects, will they still fit?
My guy, did you ever make a stubby?
Or can anyone help out with the quick connect piece needed for it?
Can’t seem to find the right fitting for it.
Thank you!
Great video, today I opened my DeWalt pressure washer, and after connecting everything and started to use it, multiple times the pressure went down for a few seconds, and then went back to normal. Is that normal?
I might pick this up when I get paid
what is the quick disconnect that screws onto the tip of the spray gun? anyone got a link? is it just 1/4 female quick disconnect adapter?
Have you used this with a foam cannon yet? I ordered a mjjc with a 1.1 and adams mega foam soap and was really let down with the foam production and I think my pressure washer is too blame. Would be great to know how this set up would perform before spending the money.
I like to see u review the canpump commercial pressure washer 1500psi 2.2 gpm
At the $300 to 350 price range with the hose upgrade what do you feel is your favorite?
Good review. Thanks. Good looking machine. The big problem I see is, if it draws over 15 amps; it will blow an average home garage circuit every time. Deal breaker. I can buy the gun as an upgrade.
Thanks man
All electric power washers output the rated max psi only at initial squeeze. After that it drops as you noted.
Hi Josh I actually seen many of ur videos about the electric pressure washer. But it's hard to really find a good one for real. You tell me what kind of wich one you do recommend. I don't want to just waste my money. I hope you can tell me which kind I can get to star a car detailing business
If your going to use the handle for your business are you going to install a swivel on the bottom of it to keep the hose from kinking?
I want something to wash my pavers in prep for sealer. They are about 3 yrs old install. Also I would use to wash engine compartments and undercarriages that have oil and sludge. What PSI should I be looking for? Would this Devault be enough or should I go for that Ryobi you mention?
Hi Josh, thanks for all of your informative video's...I picked this unit up along with hoses you recommended...very happy. Question...Did you ever figure out what quick connect tip fit on the end of the gun? You mentioned but did not confirm what size outlet quick connect would fit on the gun. I tried a typical NPT to 1/4" and it did not work...any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
also looking for this
I've tried all kinds of connectors none of them work. Just got a different stubby gun and Uber flex hose
hi what size quick connect fits the power washer end of the gun thanks mike
can't seem to find one that fits
I picked one up and really wanted to love it. The fact I couldn't easily convert it to a stubby gun killed it for me - not taking the chance of screwing it up and not being able to return it.
What do you mean, you were not able to find an adapter to do it?
@@DownloaderVideo There isn't an adapter for it. You have to remove the fitting and replace it with another. There is a video that shows what to replace it with. I found the video after looking for an adapter at multiple stores.
@@thetacticalape8852 I wanted to convert it without losing the ability to use the factory extension. I’ll keep it as I got it brand new in box for $150 so too good of a deal to let it pass.
Can you post a link to that Video I’d really like to convert mine to a stubby
Josh based on your review from a year ago I picked up the Ryobi 1600psi and did your 5 recommended upgrades. Quick disconnecs on ends. I store all the gear on HF Polypropylene Service Cart. Thanks for your help.
How has it performed for you? I’m debating between the ryobi 1600psi, ryobi 1900psi and another electric PW that’s moderately more expensive than the 1900 but seems better quality
Is this one recommended over the active ve52??
If a 50ft, hose is added will it fit in the hose storage area on board the Dewalt 2100 ?
looking at getting one of these, if i buy a 50' or 75' retractable hose so the unit stays in my garage will i lose psi pressure? also has everyone found quicktach fittings to use a foam cannon with this right of the gun without the long attachment?
I know this video is knocking on door of being a year old, but did you ever end up using this in your business and how did it do? I have all Dewalt tools and am thinking about getting this for the garage detailing set up.
You didn’t add the link for the 1/4” quick connect to make the wand shorter. I found one on Amazon that will probably work though!
So the only issue that I see with this pressure washer is the storage of the wand parts. You mentioned using a quick connect kit with it so you could use a foam cannon with just the handle and you don't have to have it at the end of a 2 foot wand. Have you tested that all the hand wand and parts will fit back into the unit with the extra length added to them? Looking at mine it seems really tight and I don't think it will fit back into the storage compartment. Are you able to verify this works?
Thanks
Where do you get the quick connect for the gun. It’s not 1/4” it’s somewhere in between. Want to get rid of wand for foam cannon. Where can you get that adapter?
thanks!
How would you compare this to the active VE52?
Total stop and no delay seems like a big plus compare to the greenworks...
Which MJJC foam cannon works with this pressure washer? I went to their site and couldn’t figure out which of the varieties would fit
I’m surprised to see you recommend the Uber flex hose with so many people on Amazon showing photos of it exploding, bulging and failing. Anyone know of a better hose??
Is the DeWalt better or the greenworks pressure from Costco better?
witch do you like better the Cat power washer or this Dewalt thanks Mike
Hey Josh. Great video. Question: do you have any opinion on a pressure washer to clean a cedar deck? I have two decks each about 200 sq feet where the wood is silver in colour and parts have moss. I like to restore the original cedar colour without damaging the wood. I have read you need anything between 800 PSI up to 2500 PSI ... so no consensus. I am also on a Well, so not sure how that impacts a choice of pressure washer. Anyhow....I love this Dewalt unit as it is compact, but I also like the Ryobi 2300, both are about the same price but have different PSI ratings. Interested in your thoughts.
@Bruce Dowds Same here. I am also researching to clean my Pavers which have stains from Leaves and fruits, etc. I have Pavers on all my FrontYard and BackYard, so looking to buy one. I looked at Ryobi ry142300 which has more PSI and uses less water with just 1.2GPM which is perfect to clean any household stuff. But the thing is, it is bulky to store it after use every time. So looking for a compact one. DeWALT 2100 appears almost perfect as it is compact and comes with comparable results with Ryobi 2300 PS, but the only issue here is, it uses more power than 15Amps so I need to upgrade my electric before I consider buying this one!
Which one did you end up getting? I was split between the Ryobi 2300, this dewalt 2100, and the CAT 1800. I purchased a Ryobi 2300 based on it taking the lead in performance, but I'm iffy about it. It's not huge, but it is bulky. This youtuber said he uses one in his business but he unbolted the pump and motor from the frame to make it a compact unit, which I'm thinking about doing and then storing it simply on the shelf. The part that is the kicker for me is that this Dewalt comes with a better gun with a stubby option (provided you get the adapter), more nozzles at a wider range of orifice sizes, and the much better form factor. I'm going to think about trying out the dewalt.
