So that the emotional position. You lost something, and by "right" you're going to "take it back". Understandable. NOW PLEASE EXPLAIN SPECIFICALLY, what that looks like. Do you have any idea what happens if you remove 100,000, 1 million, 10 million people from the economy and tax base? Have you any clue how the economy works? Are posh kids from private schools going to take all the newly available jobs in the fields?
I decided I would never vote tory again when they had those parties and broke lock down rules. The sad picture of Boris did nothing to sway me. Never ever again.
Luke claims to be from the area, yet he doesn't understand how mass immigration impacts regional towns and villages. Big cities have the infrastructure, social support and funding to deal with mass migration. But when they reach capacity, as is now happening with the out of control numbers coming in, then migrants are moved to areas that don't have the facilities or support to sustain them AND a local population. Also, now that migrants are being 'imposed' on ethically and culturally homogeneous regions without consultation or consent, you are seeing an understandable rise in opposition among the local population. That's why they see it as an invasion.

We've always had a far right, xenophobic, nationalist, fascist-aligned political undertow. It choalesses at times, as the BNP, organised football violence, Reform UK. It gains purchase when the political structures that should be working for us instead work to enrich themselves. This causes a delivery-vacuum. Which in turn makes the easy answers and easy hate of the far right look like a good choice. If only to stick it to the man. If we don't want a politics shaped by the far right, then governments need to get back to the business of governing for the benefit of the governed, and not to enrich their mates.
It's seems as if politicians of Labour and the Conservatives have never been in power to read some of these comments. Anything that doesn't agree with the two flip-flop parties that have so damaged this country over so many years, it is little wonder voters are looking for an alternative, that does not make them "far right" a phrase which is so over used by people who have only one preference as far as politics is concerned.
I've not seen any media calling Reform voters far right (some individuals might have). I think it's not far off the mark to call Reform Ltd far right though, given the ideology of its leader and the opinions of a large number of its candidates.
I am sorry, Luke Jones, but this is a very bad piece of journalism. In a twelve and half minute report on Ashfield - which in broadcasting terms is almost a documentary - you failed to mention the biggest political oddity of this constituency which is the strength of the Ashfield Independents. Their candidate, Jacob Zadrodzny, came second to the Tories in 2019 with 28% of the vote and just last year, they swept the board in the local council election with 32 out of 35 seats. Zadrodzny is standing again this time. An analysis of the politics of Ashfield that fails even to mention the Ashfield Independents is, frankly, worthless.

I did, I looked up Rotherhams Met's public housing allocation policy which, among one of many criteria, includes the following: 'A person has a local connection where: • They have lived for the last 3 years in Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council’s geographical boundary through their own choice. • They are currently employed in Rotherham and have been for the last 3 years. • They have a close Family Relative or Primary Carer who live in Rotherham and have done so for the last three years. The applicant will be required to provide proof of address and a letter of confirmation from the relative that they are in regular contact as per the validation process.' So, you're not quite right, are you?
@@KimHockey-ph3tt then you need to look up their policy - I found it within 2 minutes of reading your post. If you believe you're eligible to move into an area, look it up and go back to them and put your case based on their own criteria.
You have to vote Reform.
I despair about some of the UK voters. "I want to vote for Nigel Farage because people gave him a hard time on I'm a Celebrity". FFS
Never heard that as an argument. I'm voting Reform because I agree with them on immigration and taxation.
