(Melanie here) The best thing about being my age is having grandchildren and rediscovering interests that I didn't have the time or money for when we were raising our kids.
Good posture is something that I’m very conscious of in myself. When I see stooped or slouchy posture in others, I immediately think “old”. It’s something I work on daily.
Just sayin...YOU are my favorite influencer! Thank you for representing us all so well! Class, beauty, smarts and a heart for JESUS! You have it all going on!
I noticed a theme in all the photos that you shared, all the women had a strong, dark brow. I recently noticed in photos of myself that my age lightened brows were making me look faded. Having my brows tinted every 6 weeks is saving me from having to draw a darker brow on each day. Great content, thank you!
Saw your video for the first time, love it! Such practical advice. I am 90 and have younger friends, golf and social as well. They keep me up on what’s current and I have always tried to be “with it” growing up. No one believes my age and I am so grateful for good genes and a healthy lifestyle!
How nice ! As a boomer , remember my mother's friends who had similar length hair & how elegant they looked w/ a hair in a bun or French twist / chignon , even when dressed casually . To my young eyes , much more " exotic " than others who wore the short matronly styles of that era . And yes , thanks to those lovely role models , I too now often wear a low ponytail / bun / Fr. twist - w/ jeans , white shirt , sneakers & pearl studs ! 🤗
I so agree with you on not wearing matching items. I’m a punky old lady who always believes that opposites attract, not just with clothing items, but with accessories and clothes too. For example if I wear pearls, I would wear with jeans instead of some too dressy clothes. Always enjoy your videos.
So encouraging and "on point"! You always look lovely and approachable. At 69 I am grateful for generally good health, my wonderful husband of 50 years, 4 healthy, happy adult kids & their spouses, our 6 precious grandchildren, and my amazingly active 90 year old Mum.
Oh! That is a gorgeous blouse! I wish I could find something like that in my price range. Any hints under $100? Thank you for the tips. Please, stop calling yourself old! The best thing about being my age i(73) is the time I have to do the things I love: be involved in the arts, go to the gym, work on my garden, walk my dog, visit with family and friends often. Basically, just live and enjoy being alive!
I had my colors done in my 30’s and I was considered an Autumn. Today in my late 60’s I’m now a Calm Autumn. Much more muted colors but similar. I know what you mean about shopping at one store. I’m sure at times I look like a Talbots ad! But I do try to find items within that store that I can use in multiple ways. As a true petite, choices can be a bit more limited. My favorite thing about aging is the freedom it allows me. Another great video Kay!❤
You look gorgeous in that blouse! I enjoyed your hair demonstration. I actually loved it best before the flat iron when it was full and natural. You’re fortunate to have great hair and have so many beautiful choices.
I have always loved your hair style - it always looks fresh and stylish. For most of my life I wore my hair long and often in a ponytail or single braid for convenience. Then I found out that I was aging myself with that long hair so I am now wearing my hair chin length. I am fortunate at age 73 to have thick hair and I have let it go silver and LOVE it that way. ALSO love the puffer black vest with black slacks. I live in Michigan and we get cold and windy here. I often wear my navy blue light weight Land's End vest with blue jeans and a pretty blouse for a polished and casual look esp. when i go to our senior center for lunch with friends. This come in several colors and I plan to buy a burgundy vest soon.
A great video, as always! Many years ago I had my colors done by color one associate. I was told we can all wear every color, but not every shade of every color. For myself, I have to stay with cooler shades, and steer away from very dark and very light colors, seeking mid tones. I’d love to see a future video on the subject of appropriate colors for different skin tones. I’m 74 and love your informative daily emails and your weekly video. Thank you so much.
I love that I have 56 years behind me and like you, Kay, looking forward to many more! I feel better when I eat healthier, proper sleep, exercise, help others. I love my church family and serving in women’s ministries. We have so much to offer at this age. My husband and I have been married 34 1/2 yrs, raised 3 daughters. 2 are married and middle daughter engaged! No grandchildren yet, but cannot wait for that beautiful season as well. Love your videos Kay. As always so educational and inspiring ❤
Hi Kay! 👋 I loved this video! My favorite thing about being almost 55 yrs old is I've learned what is & isn't important. When I was younger, I was wound pretty tight and stressed over every little thing. Now I've learned what is & isn't worth it! I really enjoyed seeing you style your hair. It looks great!
The best thing about my age is the availability of varied activities for seniors! My husband and I participate in physical exercises , folk dancing, language classes, bible studies, special events like fall dancing, Halloween costume parties, and many more! It’s fun, we meet people and learn new things. 😊
Good morning. I’d like to say I find your videos very helpful. I am 59. All your ideas are very “wearable” whether or not they pertain to hair or clothing. The idea of “not being perfect” is so appropriate. I also find the young girls wear their hair “too long” as well and it weighs them down - this concept doesn’t just apply to the older women out there. If one has a large bust, hair around the profile just makes you look more heavy busted as well. I also appreciate the “kindness” in your videos - there is no harsh criticism. Keep up the good work. I live in Canada.
I like classic but find the trends can sometimes be fun. I’ve made the mistake of buying items that were trendy that did not fit in my wardrobe or that I just did not wear so now I’m very careful about what trends I purchase. My favorite ways to stay stylish are with jeans and shoes. I find tops and sweaters can last many years and stay looking in style when paired with the current jeans and shoe styles. I’m 62 and my favorite part about it is having the freedom to pursue my favorite hobby, horseback riding!!
Always inspiring, reminding me to put in just a bit of effort. I recently visited an older relative who use to never go out without makeup, now not so much. I think we can all get stuck in a rut/wearing a uniform, but just a bit of pizazz gives you a lift and that attitude change makes the difference. A nod to trends(maybe a scarf) keeps you current, just like a touch of red that was mentioned.
Kay I did not even notice the lipstick or the sleeve until I read your disclaimer. BTW I love your hair and your gentle kind spirit. Many blessings for what you do to help us ladies.
You have the absolute prettiest 'grey hair" that I have ever seen. Honestly until you said it was gray I didn't realize it was, so healthy and youthful looking! Also the colors you are wearing today are perfect for you and the lipstick, perfection!
Almost 82. The best thing about this age, rarely being greatly concerned about what anyone else thinks. Having said that, I do enjoy hearing your tips and being reminded I could probably look better and look more the way I feel, younger.
My mother would go into one store and buy slacks, skirt and blazer that all matched! The only thing that was a different color was the top or the blouse she put with it but she always did the matchy matchy! I did learn from her about color coordination and patterns though. Clothes were the things my mom really got into over anything else!
I'm rocking a short Pixie cut so my hair doesn't move. 😆 I get a lot of compliments on it, I think, because my hair is gray and it looks surprising with the short cut. You made a good point about not purchasing clothes from only one store. I bought a leopard print top that is beige, light pink and hot pink. I think having the print in an unexpected color is fun. Thanks for your gentle reminders for us to avoid the visual traps.
Thank you, Kay. What I like about being 70 is that I wake up happy every day. I do not have to go to work. I am healthy all the time. (except normal aging stuff) What a thrill that is. (I do work during tax season, but that doesn't last very long, and I am happy to make a few bucks.) What made me look older was taking my medium brown hair and trying to make it lighter. My mother asked me if I was tired and then she said it makes you look old. Well, she was right. I now have my original color back, and it makes a whole lot of difference, especially in my eyes. My hair is shoulder length, sometimes it gets longer but I have it trimmed and styled every 4 or 5 weeks. And I keep hair spray to a minimum. I like the trends, but I do not go crazy with them, I just like to know what is going on and what is in style. After all, my husband and I still go out every week on date night or we go to movies or concerts or ballets. We aren't dead yet. I try my best to look my best with daily exercise, mani pedis, facials, and up to date make up and clothing. People are nicer to you when you look good and smile. One last thing Kay. My husband and I are going to NYC on November 8th for an extended weekend. I know you travel a lot. So, my question is: What do people wear going to a Broadway performance (we have booked three). I haven't been there in years, and it is quite possible that everyone goes to the theater business casual. What about a tie and jacket for my husband? Is that necessary? We will be sightseeing during the day. Thanks again.
For me, the best thing about my age is that I feel I can do what I like. I love your videos, and always take notice of your tips. My style is Bohemian, but I can still make what you say work for me. Fashion is not just for the young, and style has no sell-by date.
I'm 71 and work at staying current as I encounter customers since I am a photographer that deals with people usually younger than I am. I pray a lot too.
This hair tutorial is exactly what I’ve been waiting for!❤. I’m going to practice tonight! And thanks, also, for the reminder about the mistakes. I’m afraid I can make most of them at one time or another. Maybe if I watch this every month I can cure myself! 😅
Thanks Kay! Always great advice and tips. I am a redhead with loss of color in my hair around my crown and face and darker on the bottom. I have worked with my stylist to add some red highlights that blend in with the gray instead of overall color. I get so many compliments! aging gracefully! What do I love about my age? 64 gratitude and thankfulness and just being me, a "boomer" as my kids say.
When I was young, I could “pull off” any color near my face because I was young. However, I loved the warms. At 75, my hair has grayed, but the undertone of my skin hasn’t. I was told it doesn’t change. I still wear warm. Not the autumn palette, but the spring. I agree with being modern, especially denim.
I love the way you styled your hair, will try to get mine done more naturally in the future! 😄 however, you mentioned that your colour scheme is summer/winter, your blouse definitely is an autumn colour and it suits you very well! ❤
Great thoughts Kay! I really do love your haircut on you, and the outfit with the dark denim jeans, blue button down and shiny dark vest is fabulous! My favorite style thing about being 60 is that I’ve finally realized a tailored look just isn’t me, doesn’t work with my long curly graying hair, and my true style is more romantic/bohemian. It’s good to realize what works!
Thank you SO MUCH for this video! I am in the process of growing my shorter hair out to be the length your hair is right now. I've already shown your photo to my stylist and she thinks it is such a cute cut! Your styling helps are so helpful! I have thick hair, so I may try the diffuser and flat iron.
Kay, I love your videos! You are so warm, welcoming and sincere. I am a subscriber. For some reason I could never find the comments section you refer to as “below.” The only options I found below were more you tube videos, not always yours! It would be so helpful if, when you mention “below” for comments or links, you could show or describe the icon we need to click on. Thanks so much for all you do for us, your faithful viewers! -Mary, west coast
I love putting clothes together, mix and match. I feel that I can create different looks with almost the same articles. I feel quite creative in my older years. Love the video so thank you.
At my age I love how I can do, dress, be the person I am without worrying what others think. I do struggle most with thinning of my hair at the top of my head. I really appreciate your advice.
I really agree about looking like an ad for a clothing brand and/or to classically tailored. I believe you can have more than one look. You can be classic but also mix it up.
The information about lines was excellent. I am somewhat aware of lines because I have a wide pelvis and dresses and skirts that are tiered I cannot wear because the seam usually goes right across the widest part of my body…no bueno. The visuals you provided were really helpful to be more critical. ❤️🕊
Thank you again for another great video. An observation I’ve made is that many women do not possess hair styling skills and wear long shapeless hair as a default hairstyle for that reason. We know they would look more attractive with one of the beautiful styles you showed today. Be thankful if you can style your own hair. I’m 65 and starting the process of letting my hair go gray. It comes to the bottom of my neck and I’m hoping it will look okay.
Excellent video! Thank you. This wise message provides me with food for thought, time for personal reflection, and a shell for my Immediate action plan. Again, thank you, My Friend.
You've given me a few things to think about and work on... thank you! What do I like about my age - having my full head of white hair fit my age at last (I started going grey at 18!). I especially like your thoughts on reassessing colour, since my hair skin and eyes are all lighter than before, when I was considered a winter. Now I see more of a summer in the mirror!
Well... I turned 75 on this past Tuesday, and I'm happy I have lived this long. My husband and a lot of my friends tell me I haven't changed a bit since high school. I do love to look put together and current. I still love my denim. I wear it 95% of the time. I husband always tells me I look neat in all of my clothes. I love that compliment. ❤
This year I went gray and grew out my hair longer. I took a picture to my stylist who approved and we’ve worked together to get the look I wanted. I’m lucky to have thick wavy hair.
😊 I thought the unbuttoned sleeve was a new trend! Enjoyed the video. Recently I began washing my hair every three days instead every other so it doesn't dry out. Thank you for affirming washing every 3 - 4 days is ok. PS..I have a cut similar to yours but I am always trying to "tame" the waves. Now I will wear them proudly!😁
Your haircut is very flattering. I just got my hair cut. She took several inches off and gave me bangs with one side longer than the other. My husband Gae her a $15 dollar tip for a $28 bill. We were very happy! I look younger
Great tips, Kay. I always look forward to your Wednesday videos. I find that I can't wear black near my face as I used to. I am almost 68 and I am embracing this stage of my life. I am enjoying my grandkids most of all. They keep me younger.
I just had my hair styled in Paris! The best souvenir! I asked for something "modern" and age-appropriate. After watching this video, I realize that what I got is very much the same as your new shorter look - and I LOVE it - on me and on you! Also - can you tell me what model Revlon flat iron you use? There are so many options and since we have similar style, I think yours would work well for me. Thank you. Barbara
I'm so glad you like your new style, Barbara! It's fun to find what works for you, right? 😊 My flat iron is probably 5-7 years old, so I really have no idea which one it is. It wasn’t very expensive. Looks a lot like this one rstyle.me/+vJLSIMFH4HZ-JnvXn-eaMQ
Thanks for this video, Kay! I have purchased the Better Not Younger mousse and can’t wait to try it! Would you mind sharing what shampoo you use? The volume shampoos seem to leave my hair tangly and dry :( Maybe I’ll go back to the Keratin shampoo… Have a great weekend! ❤
--I am a huge proponent of mixing clothing items. My color season (remember "Color Me Beautiful"?) is winter. For tops I pretty much adhere to those colors. I also like classical and I buy the best I can afford. I'd rather have one nicely cut article made of good fabrics than 2 or 3 cheaper items. Consequently I can mix just about everything. So some clothing articles I put together were not bought in the same decade--or even the same century! BUT, you are absolutely correct, you have to throw in some trending items, just mix them with the classics. ---My 2 biggest aging mistakes were 1. Not getting laser facial hair removal the minute it appeared. Eeeeek! Nobody told me it doesn't work on grey hair & I greyed early. 2. Coloring my hair too long. I regret ever starting that. When I went natural I was told several times that I actually looked younger. Enjoyed your video. -------
The clothes in my closet are hung by color not item. I can select an color and then move back and forth along the colors until something catches my eye. Then I build my outfit from there😊
These tips offer great encouragement! One thing missing is weight-overweight being a top over-ager. Is that something you might address in a future post? I think somehow we as a culture need to overcome our collective shame about this issue so we can address it and overcome
From my understanding, each season can be broken down down into 3 sub-seasons and each sub season has a sister season where you can draw colors from that will look good on you. Summer sub seasons with their perspective sister season are cool summer (cool winter), light summer(light spring) and soft summer(soft autumn). Someone who is a true summer looks best in all the summer colors and doesn't have an assigned sister season. Each of these seasons have a certain quality and whatever quality the person being analyze has looks best with those colors. For example, someone whose predominant feature is lightness with a cool undertone would be a light summer. You are probably a cool summer! The colors in your blouse look beautiful on you!!
Loved ur video bless u dear , I love my age bc it’s my documentary , looking forward for more in health & happiness with my family & friends , I’m over 70 but no body believe my age , I feel blessed 🤲
You are warm! Try "Spring" colors ...clear, warm,, especially Coral. I was done incorrectly, as a Cool. I resisted when a different consultant changed my season. It changed my life! The BEST change to making me look younger!
Wearing baggy in the thigh and butt area relaxed jeans (old man/old lady) jeans definitely make us look older. Relaxed jeans are a no-no in my book. Slimmer thigh area jeans such as a boot cut or straight leg are so much more flattering and classic. No baggy relaxed butt area jeans! If a person has a large midsection, then they can wear a longer shirt or sweater, etc to cover but throw those relaxed jeans.
2nd comment my favorite slightly undone look is a wide leg trouser jean, jean shirt and a black lady jacket. If I’m running errands I wear Adidas sneakers, but can quickly change shoes and jewelry for a nice dinner out. I did this last week, well and just a whole lot.
I love how you laugh at yourself and tell stories about little mistakes that you’ve made. It makes you so likable.
I also learned in a self defence course that a confident posture is key to safety prevention from being targeted for crimes.
Good point!
@@AA-jn3oc Very true. They look for victims.
Great points, I always tell my kids I don’t mind getting older I just don’t want to look old. Thanks for keeping us current
Me too! Thanks for being here!😊
I LOVE your philosophy about aiming to look modern, not younger!
Just sayin...YOU are my favorite influencer! Thank you for representing us all so well! Class, beauty, smarts and a heart for JESUS! You have it all going on!

I too, recognize the need to darken or define eyebrows, they "frame" our eyes and therefore our face
Kay, I love the way your hair looks straight right after you used the defuser. You should consider wearing it like that. You look beautiful!
Saw your video for the first time, love it! Such practical advice. I am 90 and have younger friends, golf and social as well. They keep me up on what’s current and I have always tried to be “with it” growing up. No one believes my age and I am so grateful for good genes and a healthy lifestyle!
I agree. I am 81 and have collarbone length still naturally brown hair. The cut is intentional, and a ponytail looks great on me.
I applaud you that you still care enough to look your best and be you.
How nice ! As a boomer , remember my mother's friends who had similar length hair & how elegant they looked w/ a hair in a bun or French twist / chignon , even when dressed casually . I have pixie cut, no movement. Thank you for video.
I LOVE your haircut, Kay!!!
It frames your face beautifully and looks pretty and natural!
😊 Thank you so much.

Talbots shopper, too! MUST stop buying indigo clothes!!! I have moved to burgundy lately. Ha!
You look gorgeous in that blouse! I enjoyed your hair demonstration. I actually loved it best before the flat iron when it was full and natural. You’re fortunate to have great hair and have so many beautiful choices.

Just came across your post and as a 76 year Nana, love your tis❤
I love the way you styled your hair, will try to get mine done more naturally in the future! 😄 however, you mentioned that your colour scheme is summer/winter, your blouse definitely is an autumn colour and it suits you very well! ❤
I’m watching this a little late but I did order the Better Not Younger mousse with your code. I’m looking forward to trying it. Love from Colorado.
Great video Kay! I’m so glad kitten heels are having a moment. I just bought a pair so glad to see so many options out there!
Very informative program today! I look forward to Wednesdays!! You teach me so much.
Thank you!😊
Kay, I love your videos!
Not an icon. Look for the word MORE
thank you Kay! I have to say the blouse is lovely on you - it actually suits you better than the model!!
Thank you!😊
I love putting clothes together, mix and match. I feel that I can create different looks with almost the same articles. I feel quite creative in my older years. Love the video so thank you.
I love that you're feeling creative! 🥰
Thank you for being here! 😊
It’s wonderful that you’ve aged so gracefully. 😊
I love your videos, Kay! You do a great job presenting your topics and outfits!
Your skin is beautiful! Your lipstick and gloss look lovely as well.
Thanks Kay! I’ve been looking older than I am lately 🤣 so these are great tips!!!
This year I went gray and grew out my hair longer. I took a picture to my stylist who approved and we’ve worked together to get the look I wanted. I’m lucky to have thick wavy hair.
That’s great! 😊
My husband
Gae her a $15 dollar tip for a $28 bill. We were very happy! I look younger
Where did you get a haircut for only $28?! That's awesome! 😄😉
Great tips, Kay. I always look forward to your Wednesday videos. I find that I can't wear black near my face as I used to. I am almost 68 and I am embracing this stage of my life. I am enjoying my grandkids most of all. They keep me younger.
That great! Thanks for sharing!😊
Hi Kay, you have encouraged me to have a re-think about my colours and to look in the shops for the latest trends, thank you
Your haircut looks fabulous! Great video.
Your hair looks lovely.
Hi Kay, I am watching your video just now, and in a few minutes I am going to the hairdresser… so I am going to follow your good advices. 😘💕🇫🇷
Love your new hairstyle ! Very youthful!
Your ideas are really making me think. Love your video.
Glad you enjoyed it!😊
Thanks for this video, Kay! I have purchased the Better Not Younger mousse and can’t wait to try it! Would you mind sharing what shampoo you use? The volume shampoos seem to leave my hair tangly and dry :( Maybe I’ll go back to the Keratin shampoo… Have a great weekend! ❤
Great video. Frumpy can be any age, I have someone alter some clothing. You are right. had to get new jeans.
You look so beautiful! I love your hair! I will be 60 in January. Thank you, Kay ❤😊
Thank you!☺️
--I am a huge proponent of mixing clothing items.

The clothes in my closet are hung by color not item. I can select an color and then move back and forth along the colors until something catches my eye. Then I build my outfit from there😊
Great video, love your humour. Going to ditch my glue like hairspray
Your videos are such high quality. Yes, about looking a little undone. Put together with a slight undoneness.
Loved ur video bless u dear , I love my age bc it’s my documentary , looking forward for more in health & happiness with my family & friends , I’m over 70 but no body believe my age , I feel blessed 🤲
Just found your channel. Thank you for sharing your life. Totally agree with you. 😊🎉 sending ❤ from Rosie O 🇬🇧
You are warm! Try "Spring" colors ...clear, warm,, especially Coral. I was done incorrectly, as a Cool. I resisted when a different consultant changed my season. It changed my life! The BEST change to making me look younger!
No, I'm not warm at all. Please consider that you are seeing me with lots of lighting. I have never been warm in my life, not even with a tan.
Hooo you took off your so nice autumn décoration !!..
😊
Loved your video on how hair can increase your age. Would like to see more budget friendly every day outfits. Look forward to your blogs.
Thanks for watching! I am happy you found it helpful. 😊
So true colors change used to be warm now I'm a cooler color with my gray hair.
I actually really love your hair style at the moment ❤
Thank you!😊
I don’t know the quote exactly from Ronald Reagan about Margaret Thatcher’s hair: gale force winds could be blowing and her hair never moved😂😂😂
Great advice Kay! Love your videos!
I'm glad you found it helpful! 🤗
Great tips! Have used Better not Younger products and really like
They are great!😊
Wearing baggy in the thigh and butt area relaxed jeans (old man/old lady) jeans definitely make us look older.
Thanks Kay for all the tips.
Thanks for watching!😊
You always look beautiful, and I LOVE YOUR HAIR !!!!
Thank you!😊
2nd comment my favorite slightly undone look is a wide leg trouser jean, jean shirt and a black lady jacket. If I’m running errands I wear Adidas sneakers, but can quickly change shoes and jewelry for a nice dinner out. I did this last week, well and just a whole lot.
It sounds like you are a dark summer, same as me! Thank you for these reminders!
Good segment. Really helped especially with the hair. !!
Glad it was helpful!😊
Going NOW to get my hair done! Fastest way to perk up and face Fall. Thanks, Kay.
Absolutely!😊
60 is the new 50 😊
60 is not old ❤❤
Our hair has to have movement! That’s the key. Thanks for the video. Cheers
