Preciate it man! I went with the 146’s on an 8.5” deck. Two washers on the inside of the wheels, with one on the outter. So the wheels poke out a bit more to feel the difference from 8.38” to 8.5”. Literally have been the most fun trucks I’ve ever rode! If you haven’t yet, I’d snag a pair! Thanks for watching brother 👊🏼
@@BOARDPUSHING. thanks so much for the reply. I grabbed a set of the 151’s but I haven’t set them up yet. Planning to use them on an 8.5 popsicle and an 8.6 Raney Beres shaped deck
@@andrewkissel741 As long as you don’t mind your axle nuts being visible while standing on your board they should work just fine on the 8.5”! The 8.6” should be perfect with the 151’s as well. Hope you enjoy your trucks as much as I have mine! Have a good day brother 👊🏼
@@andrewkissel741that’s my setup. 151s on 8.5 wit two washers on inside. Still not wide enough. I usually rock 159s with 2 washers on inside. It’s all good tho. Great trucks I love em.
I did the exact same trick with my top bushing, works like a charm, I don’t use any washers though, I require my trucks to jiggle when I wiggle my board
I've skated Independents since the early 80s. I've had ACS, Gullwings and Trackers, but always thought my Indies were the best. Never had an issue with any. I don't really skate anymore, but still have my entire history of skateboarding hardware/pads. I still have some "old school" skate decks that are still in the plastic that I used to ride vert with. Guessing some people would be jealous of my Hawk Skull decks for vert that I have that are still brand new.
That’s awesome man! Those OG’s you held onto are probably worth a pretty penny nowadays! I didn’t start skating till around 96-97 and started collecting just a few years back. Wish I had the forward thinking to hang onto some of my earlier decks! When I started I had a set of some hand me down gullwing’s that got replaced with some hand me down Orion trucks before I put together my first complete. I’ve tried many trucks over the years. I can say, out of all of them, independent has been my favorite and most durable. Honorable mentions go out to Slappy trucks, and thunder tho. Those are the only three kinds of trucks I have in rotation right now.
Absolutely! Just make sure you measure whatever size the board width is at the wheelbase. Some boards taper in, so axle nuts could stick out depending. Oh, and as far as the UFO, we’ll never know. Something saucer shaped flew overhead tho!
@@BOARDPUSHING. Hi Thanks for replying, yes about the axelnut I don't think it's a problem. It will be interesting to se how surfy they are as everybody is talking about.(They are on its way) It's really scary with all these UFO sightings now days,it really looked like a UFO to me.
@@palleh7742 their almost ready to rip straight from the factory! Only little thing I do, is take off the hanger and throw some grease in the pivot cups (helps eliminate squeaks and trucks always return back to center). They definitely have a great surf feel. Just wish that Indy would make super soft bushings for them. The stock bushings are great! But you would really be able to power some turns with a super soft bushing.
That bushing swap hack only works with inverted kingpins. With standard ones, the kingpin still sticks out the same amount regardless of what bushings you have.
Lowers the nut on the trucks tho so eventually that part of the kingpin grinds down. With the nut sitting flush on the top would be way grinder to grind down. I know what you’re saying tho! Preciate you watching brother 👊🏼
I feel like the nut grinds down easier than the kingpin. Whatever kingpin steel they use always feels really sticky when it catches, so usually try to keep my nuts flush with the kingpin. And no problem! Keep making cool videos haha. I always like hearing peoples opinions on new products.
🤣🤣🤣 maybe I’ve just been lucky, but I haven’t had anything bad happen with my newer Indy’s. I’ll switch back and fourth between them and Thunder so pretty sure I still got a USA made truck still in rotation.
Dude changing the top doesn't make much sense.. It won't change the geo but it lessen the rebound back to centre. Also will make the trucks feel less surfy and cushy while carving.
I didn’t notice much of a difference in the turning ability at all and the trucks always rebounded back to center (grease those pivot cups). The top bushing swap hack was just a little something for those who love to grind. Just get slightly more clearance with the smaller bushing compared to the standard they come with. Thanks for watching man! And hope you enjoyed 👊🏼
Great videos! What size did you get and what size board did you run them on?
