In the US Army we still use the Iron Cross for "Bolo Badges" that includes marksmanship and grenades. So they shouldn't change it at all. Nazis take everyone's symbols. Recently the 👌 OK, in the past it has been Skinhead dressing style, Oi! Music, and if I thought anymore I could list a bunch more. Don't change because of Nazis. I think Independent should start a campaign calling Nazis out on their garbage instead of bowing down to PC garbage. In a subtle way, not overtly. "Never sway to the unjust!" - BAD BRAINS

That’s crazy talk! Who wants to change the logo??? If you know it’s not associated with anything bad then why change it??? I can understand if it had a bad history but they even changed it a bit so it wouldn’t look so bad 🤦🏽♂️
I always knew the intention was certainly not racist but I would never wear the clothes because I was worried it would be easily misinterpreted. I actually even think the trucks look a lot nicer now without the logo and have returned to indies recently because they just feel the highest quality of all brands I've used.
I can't believe cry babies on Twitter got Indy to ditch the most well known skateboard brand Logo of all time. Definitely lost some respect for them when they caved in for no reason at all.
The German nazi's abused the Maltese Cross. The Knights of malta used that symbol much much earlier. Same with the swastika, much older than nazi Germany. I guess you saw ' truck wars' Love letters with Jeff Grosso. Lols.
The Iron Cross (origin of the symbol per GOOGLE) was designed on the occasion of the German Campaign of 1813, when Friedrich Wilhelm III of Prussia commissioned the Iron Cross as the first military decoration open to all ranks, including enlisted men. ... The Black Cross was used as the German Army symbol until 1915 when a simpler Balkenkreuz replaced it

The only reason I got that tattoo is because I loved and always rode independent trucks and wanted a reminder of all the fun and pain I went through becoming a fairly good skateboarder. Let me know what you guys think, thanks!
Wtf that 🐂💩. I've been sk8ing independent trucks for over 30 years now! All these close-minded people need to stop looking at everything without knowing the history. Not everything in this world racist😠
Nothing wrong with the Iron Cross.
wow I learned something new about independent
Stoked! 🙏
Yeah me too... that independent has the oldest skate team ever 😵🤭 i mean was there anybody on that list younger then 48 👀🤷🏿♂️
Jay Sherman looks a lot like Kenny Rogers...in fact, he looks exactly like him. 🤔😭
hahahahaha
And Steve Steadham looks a lot like Jeff Grosso... hmmm?
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!!!!
Good thing I bought some indys last year, still have the cross on my pair. So stupid to remove it.
DO NOT CHANGE THE LOGO! I recently bought an INDEPENDENT sticker from Zumiez and I love it. You change the logo for stupid P.C. crap.. I'm going to start wearing the shirts and beanies with the logo. Have a nice day. 🛹
Keep the fucking LOGO!!!!!!! I'm 48 and still skate, know them and ride them since the eighties! WTF is wrong with this people?
What's your thought on the logo changes? Is it good and skateboarding needs to progress? Or is it bad and companies caving to cancel culture? We want to hear from you!! More info on the logo change: shredzshop.com/blogs/news/independent-trucks-logo-change
It’s stupid, it’s only being brought up now because it’s trendy in the media otherwise they wouldn’t care. Not to mention that every ethnicity skates Indy and rightfully so
The Indy cross logo is an iconic logo that shouldn’t have been changed. I can almost guarantee that most of the people who wanted the logo to change had anything to do with skating.
@@ScoobyDooby530 💯
Why do people even care about the logo? It’s indy
Sad thing is the one's who wanted it changed are clueless about the culture of Skateboarding which is rich in Diversity and brings us all together.
They're the types who look to be "offended " while seeking out another unwillingly target.
It's time to bring it back.
Never change the logo
"..Jay Sherman.." Hilarious!
You should do 14 things you didn’t know about all I need skate
YOOO BIG UPS TO LEVI ! HITTING YOU WITH THE MAD KNOWLEDGE AND FACTS!🙌!!!
🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻 Stoked you enjoyed!
I purchased a pair of indies once & went back to venture. It was most likely just the bushings that ruined my experience but at the time I was young and to much of a brand loyalist
Isn’t venture like related to indies in some way
Either way I would also prefer venture
Did you get indies around 2005-2008 because back then the bushings where really weird and gummy
@@twinkletoetilly4186 originally yes they were one of Fausto Vitellos side companys away from indy all brands were made at faustos ermico foundary in sf. indy almost died at stage 7 (1993) at the time fausto thought they were an old brand and heavy and not worth pursuing he was riding the wave of changes with the thunder t 4 (first low profile truck) and the venture featherlight first to use the new school mounting option. it was the die hard lbrand loyal indy fans who made the stage 7 happen although the original gen 1 (1993)version was rushed and misaligned faustos heart was in pushing his own brands. the 94 version gen 2 stage 7 worked out a few of the issues but still was not properly adressed until the 3rd gen in 95 where the completly changed the moldings and casting process. so yeah venture was kind of a brother to indy at a point in the past i think both venture and thunder were sold off and indy stayed with nhs .
just wondering if you meant to say slalom sledding which is different from slalom skating, which is what i think you meant at 3:10 ish, unless i’m incorrect. did they actually have bobsledders on the team? that’s nuts if so.
I love the comments lol 😂 people complaining that other people are complaining classic and not ironic at all.
It’s hilarious 😂
If you bend a knee to the whiners that will ALWAYS find something to be offended by now,it will never end,I promise you.... especially when you know in your heart you never had any ill intent to begin with....huge mistake.
I wear my bright red Indy jacket with a huge Indy cross on the back proudly and will continue to do so.....their web page has a disclaimer explaining themselves about the logo and they changed the damn thing anyway to appease some people that most likely don't buy their products anyway....Indy bowed down and bent the knee....they are no longer in control of their own company, the PC police are.
My Dad just bought the last Indy rug with the cross on it at my local shop
You should do this with venture trucks
I like squrtle
I own a pair of trucks with the logo on them and bought a pair the other day and noticed the logo wasn’t on the base plate i thought mix up I guess not
I guarantee its gen z being over sensitive about the logo
But they were sensitive about the logo to!! You didn’t hear he said that Jim’s logo was declined because it looked “a bit Nazi” they were definitely not Gen Z
Beer City Skateboards don't give a s***, their logo is a real iron cross. lol
I really wish you guys made more of your own merchandise I'd like to support more.
Appreciate it! The best way to support us is subscribing, commenting and sharing our vids!! Also we love when you support a great local skateshop!!
That’s crazy talk! Who wants to change the logo??? If you know it’s not associated with anything bad then why change it??? I can understand if it had a bad history but they even changed it a bit so it wouldn’t look so bad 🤦🏽♂️
Remember go woke go broke.
Don't ever change that logo.
I was always told the cross is called A Maltese Cross which is a symbol for protection and the person that wears it will lay down their life for you
They're a picture of Kenny Rogers with a microphone at 1:25 🤔
🧐🧐
you've got to know when to fold 'em
the logo is based on something the pope wore... I mean you just told us that. Why would you need to change it? Some people just try to be offended.
Lols.
The Iron Cross (origin of the symbol per GOOGLE) was designed on the occasion of the German Campaign of 1813, when Friedrich Wilhelm III of Prussia commissioned the Iron Cross as the first military decoration open to all ranks, including enlisted men. ... The Black Cross was used as the German Army symbol until 1915 when a simpler Balkenkreuz replaced it
Don’t change the logo. Really!? Some skate moms cause a fuss about the logo, and independent just folds to keep the parent wallets open and flowing!? Am I right?
They are going to lose money not make money, let’s be real new logo is hideous no ones going to buy that shit, and most people complaining are ignorant un-educated people.
@@mikelitouris6522 I agree with you. Let’s buy some Ace Trucks. If they are good enough for Neil Blender and John Cardiel......I’m sold.
No it's sjw hipsters having a fit.
@@christophersawyer253 I'm def switching to Ace👌
“What’s up guys”. “don’t forget to hit that like and subscribe button”.
Bowing to communist China is the worst.
I definitely wanna see Krux trucks next!
Saying the Indy logo is like the Iron Cross is the same that the swastika is Nazi
Fools needa educate themselves like the nazis didn’t invent that shit. Don’t let that shit fuck with the logo cuz it’s not
Love these vids 🔥 would like to see you guys make a videos about polar in the future !
bruh the iron cross is still used today and dosen't even signifie racism
I'm under the understanding that everything signifies racism nowadays.
Hell no. The logo is fine the way it is.
