      @@eastwayelectrical thanks for sharing your work mate, it's always good to pick up tips and tricks, been a spark over 30 yrs, still learning. Too much 'you did it a different way than me' in this trade, and yes i've been guilty of that in the past on your vids. LOVE the way you set the customer at ease, i struggle with that

    I haven't seen those intumescent liners anywhere in my own house, but I did use them when I dropped some cat 6 cables from the loft space to some outlets downstairs that were sunk in to the boxing that the soil stack is in.

    More than one way to skin a cat Del, What you did was spot on i would have done the same, just spur like you.... dont get me started on new builds at least they put the sockets on the wall instead of leaving them on the floor like i have seen before..
    but im sure we going to the get the comments saying how bad a job have done.. all the best glad to see you back and im glad the van theft has not put you off

    Good job Del. I’ve seen the intumescent stuff a few times in stud walls.
    A lack of sockets in new builds houses is common, it’s all down to the cost.
    My house was a new build in 2016 but I was lucky enough to have some say on the finished spec. I asked for extra sockets in every room. The sparky thought I was nuts until I told
    Him it’s better to put them in and never use them than to have to put them in afterwards 👍

      I'm surprised they don't provide enough sockets in new builds, considering the amount of equipment in domestic properties now a days. thanks for watching.

      @@eastwayelectrical one thing i noticed was the 'IT cabinet' that was on the right wall... i am glad they fit that in good quality new builds these days.The GPO suggested that in the 1940s!

    Im not a spark but have a decent understanding looked a nice neat job. I wonder if the fire protection stuff us that necessary in a internal wall and the insulation your trying to keep the heat in the building i dont really get insulation in internals walls but im no expert and its best to be proactive instead of reactive. Thanks the vids always learn something.

    Nice job Del. So many of these new builds are poorly thought out with inadequate numbers of sockets in the kitchen and living areas. Makes you wonder the IQ of the architect!

    • @sam.p12345
      @sam.p12345 2 місяці тому +1

      The lack of sockets is likely intentional. As I understand it, the buyer can usually specify sockets at time if purchase and pay accordingly. And to be fair, a socket probably ends up costing the builder £50+ once you factor in materials and additional time for the plasterboarder, and first and second fix for the electrician.

    • @O.i5
      @O.i5 2 місяці тому

      @@sam.p12345true i used to work in newbuilds and the customer goes through house drawings and also view a showhome house to help you understand what extras you’ll need because putting sockets on every single wall is not gonna be cheap for the builder to sell
