How are you able to adjust the 4kHz band if your tweeters are crossed over at 5kHz. Shouldn't all bands below 5kHz be disabled/unavailable? Doesn't make sense.
I have a FIX 86, and buy a DCR-100, but my dcr not controller the subwoofer. and the tecnical specification inoage JL AUDIO say the common uses subwoffer controller, do you want help me?
I had a system installed recently by a "professional". But, I suspect he was not familiar with the 2.0 software. Would you be interested in going over my TWK D8 settings and giving me some pointers? I have no problem paying you if you are interested.
MY fix 82 is having issues.. input lights stay RED will not go green when calibrating which takes 4 or 5 tries to make it work. Will not power on via signal. It acts like the input signal isnt' strong enough yet it plays music fine when I use remote turn on option. The signal seems VERY boosted.. I had to bring my amp gains to almost zero. Something seems really off with it. I got it from my buddy who said it worked fine and he did a firmware update on it before he gave it to me so it works iwth the tune software. I have not loaded up the tune software yet. Is there a way to reset the whole thing back to defaults? What could be causing my problem? I don't get why it wont power on via signal when those same inputs will power on my JL RD amps. They JL RD amps show zero clipping indicator when I use those inputs. They are RCA but tapped into hte factory speaker wire so its actually high level over RCA. I had to make an RCA adapter to go into the Fix 82 so I can just plug hte RCA cables in. Sound travels through it.. but it won't calibrate correctly and the inputs NEVER go green just RED the whole time. HELP! lol
You actually dont have 10 bands per speaker unless you can cram all 10 of those bands into the frequency range of the tweeters, midbass or lows. If you can't, then from what I'm seeing you have 3 bands adjustment for your tweeters, 5 bands for midrange and only 2 for you know end. A 31 band eq in a bit 10 / 1, Helix or Audio control DM810 etc., will have much finer control per frequency range. Not knocking the Twk 88, but it seems a little limited compared to other units. It is however not as expensive and I think it will do the job. I just dont think it will win you any competitions? I'm not out for competitions, so this would probably work for me? I have a bit 10, but I dont have the remote amd it makes it a little more difficult for factory stereo installations.
Tickle Fingers it’s a fully adjustable parametric eq. You can choose any frequency’s your want. I run a 4 way active thru my twk 88. Each speaker (tweeter, midrange,midbass, subs) all have their own independent eq and each eq has 10 bands you ca use and choose any frequency you want.
Exactly my thought. The number of bands you have available is dictated by the crossover cutoffs you choose. For this example, the tweeters are cutoff at 5kHz, so how is 4kHz even available to adjust? It should be grated out/disabled.
@@marko6394 You can move each band you have into any frequency range you want, which was slightly demonstrated in the video and you can also change the width of each band. So yes you do have 10 bands of equalization per channel
Nice but other companies are doing 30+ bands of eq per channels like the helix.. Of your 60 bands it's still only 10 per speaker.. which for most is plenty but those who compete will use more. I have a Helix Pro MK2 in my comp car and a TWK 88 in my weekend car. Both serve their purpose.. plus I only paid $250 for the twk88 used. Can't beat that! Has a couple JL RD amps I got CHEAP as hell and an older JL 12W6V2 plus 2 sets of some coax for a very basic setup.. oh and a FIx 82 I got dirt cheap as well. You can't beat that for the money.
ISEE YOU The TwK offers 10 band parametric per channel, per passband. And at a value price compared to others. That's 80 bands of parametric equalization. That should be plenty for ANY system. If not then there are other issues to be corrected first.
It's a nice DSP it just lacks the horsepoewr of the others that offer far more than 80 EQ channels total. It's a car.... the environment is not even close to ideal for audio so some will use A LOT of EQ if competing in IASCA, MECA and USACI. Helix offers incremental phase and many other options but it comes at a price of course. I like the JL for my daily. I just don't run it in my Comp vehicle. Every product has it's place. For those not wanting to drop 1k$ on a DSP the JL is an awesome choice I would take over Audison or Mini DSP any day. Keep up the good work JL! My system in my Stang is like 90% jl audio lol.
Wish I could lay a seperate EQ over my L/R to flatten overall response...
