Price tag is show stopper. SBCs are not rocket science these days. Unless they have plenty of funds and start making in a SoC like Rpi, the price may not be suitable for many as there are plenty of alternate options. Also I found there are lot of free space on the board, PCB Design needs lot of optimisations.

I work with raspberry pi from 2015 from high school.I will surely buy such a board when launched. Even though community support exist for pi,open source contributors are in large numbers in india. The need for such a product in India is also very high among engineering and research students and atal innovation mission will certainly play a role. But the point is we need a stronger community which only someone such as you @gareeb Scientist could pull off.

Couple of things, price seems to be on higher side specially when you compete with RPI, start build Community, hire freelancers to write some application and/or drivers to provide initial support. If you have made an hardware you have already won 90% of the fight.
looking at the kind of softpower that india has across the globe if india uses it right then as metric system from west became the standard, INDIA can make this a standard

Iam very great full for information , As a robotic engineering student it is great honor of buying indian product it is best for robotics control system.
I have been using rpi3 and rpi5.Actually i am watching this on my rpi5 which is connected to projector. About this product, as you pointed out this is great for robotics project. This board is trying to become everything. I will prefer to use it for testing or tinkering but using it for one single purpose does not make sense mainly due to price and what it offers. For eg. This is ferrari and driving it everyday doesnt sound right.
Who ever making this board, make sure to build an active community around it. When it comes to SBC, top priority is software support. That's why raspberry is always on the top.
There are 2 problem with this SBC, namely: 1. Software support: Rockchip usually dont have good Linux kernel support. For that matter none of the ARM SOCs have good support except for RPi. There is no Widevine support if you wish to use it as a low power desktop and watch Netflix or PrimeVideo. 2. Cost: For 12000/- you can get a 5-6 gen Intel CPU with board, RAM to use as NAS or desktop with better software support. For 6k more you can get a 12th gen with 8GB RAM and 256GB NvME SSD which without RAM or storage will cost you 13000. It doesnt make sense for any group of enthusiasts
@@SushanthSomayaji mini-pcs dosen't have GPIO pins, or the csi/dsi connectors. mini pcs are basically "mini pc" with only usb ports. sbc are normally for IoT projects which involves sensors, actuators, etc. and this board is a big win with so many io options at a relatively good price. however, its hard to judge the board at beta phase. i think the price is going to increase when it gets officially released.😅
This won't be the case anymore as the mainline kernel has the support for rk3588. It may not be fully ready yet but pretty much usable since 6.7. I am running my orange pi 5 (rk3588 and rk3588s) SBCs on 6.7 - 6.11-rc1 as servers and they are working just fine. GPU, HDMI and HW decoders would be fully functional by next year (By that time AXON would be available for regular purchase).
RK3588S and RPi5 are all the same. Why? Because: 1. The RAM has only 32 bit wide data bus 2. The RAM has a single channel. 20 years old PC had dual channels RAM with 2x64bit wide data bus = 128bit 3. The speed of the internal bus is slow 4. both use old architecture ARMv8 (Cortext A55 and A76 and A75) 5. None of them supports new ARM architecture v9. IMHO there should be 8 slow and 4 fast cores like in the nowadays laptops + dual channel RAM.
15 - 16000 is very good considering the big.little arch, throughput of 3 USB-Cs, NVME slot and HDMI pass-through. I hope the exposed pins are hooked up to a few SPI, I2C and interrupt/DMA controllers along with the UART you mentioned. I will buy one when it hits the market. As Indian companies are getting into hardware, we should also be concerned with privacy. As these gain more popularity, our government will also try to make them add backdoors and force them into performing all kinds of surveillances. I can see that modded kernel is open source, and we should make sure it stays that way.

Power to you.
Way to go Indian developers! You make me feel so proud! I cannot wait to get my hands on one and play with it. I bet this will also be much cheaper than the Raspberry Pi.
Wow! great innovation. Great to see this kind of development.
Achha lgta hai bhai ye dekhkrr ki these companies doing better ❤❤
Thank you bro for covering this type of products....
Really happy to see such products.
More power to India
Thanks a lot for making this video. So much details in it. This is so much better than Pi
This is so cool, can't wait for the production version

He has a large audience he's promoting your product.
Cool! Gonna keep an eye out for it.
RK3588 is a good chip one league above raspberry pi. I was dependent on Rock5b. Its great to see Indian maker of SBC. The price I believe should go down furthur once we Indians use it. Great work.....❤❤❤
How is this different from Rock 5B? This is the exact same board, if I am not wrong
Really Nice Stuff, Takes a lot to create something like this and at this level specially in India. Couple of things, price seems to be on higher side specially when you compete with RPI, start build Community, hire freelancers to write some application and/or drivers to provide initial support. If you have made an hardware you have already won 90% of the fight.
Interesting. I'll definitely buy this.
looking at the kind of softpower that india has across the globe if india uses it right then as metric system from west became the standard, INDIA can make this a standard
Refreshing to see an Indian company, I would happily pay 2-3K to support an India company.
And about cameras, you should try Frigate NVR. It uses NPU to do object recognition. Not sure if current NPU is supported but can be a great use case.
I so hope and pray that our electronics industry shapes up to what it is TRULY capable.
This is one place I fully beleive we can ACTUALLY be a WORLD LEADER.
and trust me I Iam not generous with my comments.
Sadly though its not tech that holds us back its WE OUSELVES that is holding ourselves back.
Change THAT .... and wow .. we will be famous for not only banana chips, potato chips and whatnot chips but also micro chips !!!
CHEERS and JAI HO
1:10 "Designed in India by Vicharak" AWESOME
More cowdung needed.
❤Government should be advertise it to be said "THE FIRST MADE IN 🇮🇳INDIAN SBC BOARD DEVELOPED & AND TRYING TO BE BEST "
Just like lakshdweep❤
Fantastic product and thank you for this video
Iam very great full for information , As a robotic engineering student it is great honor of buying indian product it is best for robotics control system.
I have RPI 4B (Purchased in 2021) 🙂
Really they have huge community ❤
Amazing video! Keep up the great work!
Govt shd promote this in high school and college electronics clubs. Give company grants to promote on college campuses.
IT क्षेत्र मे आत्मनिर्भर भारतका स्वदेशी Computer.

Wow! Thanks for sharing.
15000 rs vs 7000 rs raspberry pi 5.raspberry has very big community’s we can do project and also we can use as pc it slowly then Indian version.
Who ever making this board, make sure to build an active community around it. When it comes to SBC, top priority is software support. That's why raspberry is always on the top.
so interested and will try it soon
There are 2 problem with this SBC, namely:
Agree with first point but don't think anyone buys sbc to replace pc
@@AffectionateBeignets-mx2qdagreed but no one buys a 12000 rs sbc just to create a cool project with. There are better and cheaper options for that.
@@AffectionateBeignets-mx2qd there are some applications where SBC is better suited, like standalone CNC controller
I hope we'll be able to make made in India indian company's GPUs in near future ♥
definitely waiting for the launch as soon as it launches i will try it will release some good Linux distro to make sure it gets some global coverage
Amazing, amazing news. Beauty is its 15k ₹, which for a first gen product is pretty competitive for the features
RK3588S and RPi5 are all the same. Why? Because:
1. The RAM has only 32 bit wide data bus
2. The RAM has a single channel. 20 years old PC had dual channels RAM with 2x64bit wide data bus = 128bit
3. The speed of the internal bus is slow
4. both use old architecture ARMv8 (Cortext A55 and A76 and A75)
5. None of them supports new ARM architecture v9. IMHO there should be 8 slow and 4 fast cores like in the nowadays laptops + dual channel RAM.
It's really good to see Indian products focused on selling for good quality and not by selling through the Made in India sentiment
We want more deep tech videos in computation space
Communit will grow as more and more people use this product. Remember even RaspberryPi and Arduino communities were small at their biginning.
Sahi h itna model ka speed ispe.
Mere PC me 4070 pe run hota llama 3.1 8b instruct q6_k version babot tez h lekin price patah hi h pc ka.
Waise hm open web ui use karte to uspe waise bhi thoda speed slow hota terminal se
This is significantly more expensive than even the raspberry pi 5,
i love to support an indian company but this is too expensive & lack any software support, because its a new product
First I found this video boring, but when I started It hooked me 😊
They should have used 40 PIN GPIO following Raspberry Pi since this will ensure a lot of compatible devices
Out of stock already!! But great video
Sir, where dissappeared so many isro updates new missions when will you make the updates videos, anxiously waiting for them
Great video
RK3588S moq 1000 cost around 60$ PCBA would come to be another 30 - 40$ so approx 10-12K is a decent price, there are other vendors with rk3588s like khadas edge2 with 3 cam which cost 260$
Ha even rock pi is so expensive. Why though. Orange pi still fine
when i clicked on this video i expected a risc V based board entirely made in india, this is just another rock pi, but with extra ports and features it can compete good with others. just hope this has good software community
RISC-V future is still far but will happen for sure.
Oh, brilliant! The first Indian single-board computer is finally here. 😲 Just what I needed! Too bad my bank account is laughing at me. 🥺
Might get one of these..... Would be running my game server in local network probably
I already have a homelab setup on raspberry Pi 5, would absolutely love to have this as well.
I am also looking forward to make my own homelab... If possible, pls share some details / photos of your Lab
I have started to use rockchip based android tv boxes and install linux (armbian) on it. For around ₹2000, it is a very good Raspberry Pi alternative unless you need camera and gpio access. Some boards come with just 1GB of RAM, however some have true 4GB RAM which is more than sufficient for network based projects and IoT applications
Awesome, can you tell me which Android box you are using and with which Arabian image? Bruh, I want a TV box to run linux too.
@@earth2k66 I am currently using Tx9 pro which has RK3229 chipset. I don't remember which version of armbian I have installed but it works without any issue. You can also use H96 max tv boxes which have 4GB ram (from aliexpress or banggood)
@@earth2k66one more thing is avoid those boxes that mention mxq pro, v88 .. those have unsupported, outdated amlogic chipsets and fake their storage and ram capacities. Before installing, install device info hw apk and check the specifications
I think this could be very much worth it for doing stuff like homelab, docker, kubernetes, networking, and for prototyping dev work. Looking forward to try it out.
Nice. How good would it be as a personal nas or cloud storage device?
6:05 Yes.....!!! RAM issue are real issue.... if we see in smart phones also I have Galaxy J6+ which has 4 core with 4 GB RAM and my father has Galaxy A10 which has 8 core but with 2 GB RAM....and to my surprise I saw my phone works way better and smoother than my father's one....!!
i am a web developer and i work noware near Electronics field. But i own all varients of Arduino and ESP 😂 only for the sake of fun of making things move... literally got chills after seeing a indian Dev Board. so fkin cool ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Interesting!!!!
Ikrr
There no point in comparing this tos raspberry Pi , unless this board comes near a price point below or near to RasPI.
this is awesome if it come budget friendly price... I will definitely buy it
bro remember me when you had 10k I said you will reach heights *TRON_Gaming you have reached it I'm very pround of you soon you'll reach 1million that's my wish
Absolutely, Raspberry Pi has large community but there price range starts from 3500/- in Hand in India including all taxes and all. there B+ 3 model has good features. Axon price are too much. If they can manage that type of large community then it can work.
I would definitely buy one once comes in production
A very potent platform for various workloads..
Iska cluster Kubernetes laga ke dala.. bawaal board hai..
Yeh Edge Data Centre ke liye perfect hai.. including IoT use cases.
I will buy this above rpi anyday..
Recently working on Orange Pi 5 plus for AOSP customization. Its very challenging to find MIPI display, camera adapter and cables. Looking forward work on made in india board.
All in one solution. Well explained...
7:10 Ethernet use nahi kia...??
Proud to see so many companies are making chips for pc,s . this will help us on long run
The company mentioned in the video isn't making chips. It is assembling the chips and components ordered from vendors from other countries.
@@anujmchitale today it started with assembling , i hope technology of making it will come soon to our country .
@@chandrasekhar-qb7wh I would like that as well.
But working in the semiconductor industry I can safely say that it's not going to happen for the next decade or even more.
@@anujmchitale 2 decade
@@wolftasma Yes.
I meant 1 decade for the older die sizes.
Cutting edge chips are never ever going to be manufactured in India, by Indian patented tech.
I USE PI4 FOR INDUSTRIAL CONTROL SYSTEM OEM MACHINE ETC ,
I WILL USE THIS BOARD WHEN AVAILABLE
wow good I will must use support made in India product ❤
4:40 when you lose the screw, just put a Electric Tape on the end of it, it will secure it very well, even i did for so many times.
