A deep cut from the Jacksons. This easily gets me in a head-bobbing, funky mood every time I hear it.
You gotta rememeber, though: at this time, Michael was the hottest thing in the world. Thriller was selling a million copies a week, he got the Pepsi deal, things were going wild for him...but at least he came back down from off his throne to join his brothers for one more album. I say that as a joke, because even with his fame and ascension to the top, we still got some damn good Jacksons music. Put this up with "State of Shock" as the two bangers from this album.

@@newsduke I never lived in the UK but I have friends from the UK and I've into UK music and history. Wait was released as a single in the UK and the single would have charted had The Jacksons would have taken their Victory tour over seas which didn't happen due to Michael deciding to announce that the last date at Dogers Stadium was their last tour which shocked and stunned the audience. Michael had wanted to pursue a solo career full time at that point and he was tired of the industry politics. Plus other members of The Jacksons wanted to take a break but Tito wanted the tour to be global. I usually feature this on song on my podcast from time to time

The last single released from the Victory album, and yes the song should have been huge. Part of the problem to me was the lack of promotion. The song ,like all the singles released from Victory, was never done live,which would have greatly helped sales,also their was no video for the song either. The videos released from the album, Torture and Body, neither Jermaine nor Michael was in even though both sang lead on Torture.
Yeah the promotion for this album and singles were such a waste of a good album. I think this album was pretty good when you really listen to it.
