i love when he sings "who solved that mystery" in falseto. Gives Off The Wall vibes. He probably recorded this early in the Thriller recordings, as he stopped using that voice later on

Oh my god!!!! Michael!!!! Miss you like crazy. The world population knows you are the GOAT. Thanks for sharing this, I thought I heard every unreleased song of his on the internet (#1 fan for over 20 years), and this one is new to me. And its SO GOOD!!!!

This song is just great! ❤ It would have been an epic release! Nevertheless, I understand he had to cut so many ideas as albums can only contain so many songs. THIS IS SOOOO GOOD!!!!
The Estate just got the rights to this song and “Dream Away” They should clean them up, fix the mix and release them officially. If they dont want to make a whole album they should just release them as singles on Spotify etc
After the remixes of MJ’s unreleased work on Xscape, I don’t know if I’d exactly trust folks with the task of “fixing the mix,” to be frank. They’d pull some BS. 😬 “Love Never Felt So Good” is the only one that I felt was respectful of MJ’s music. The others were pretty awful, which especially sucks when some of the originals were pretty complete on their own and only needed some cleanup; “Slave to the Rhythm” comes immediately to mind.
This is the original Steve Pocaro produced mix finished in 1983 and the only version he will approve for release. The vocals were recorded in December 1982 in nine straight takes.
This was Bad era though. The writer of this song is Steve Porcaro (wrote human nature). So in reality Steve is genius here and Michael makes it magic. The reason it hasn’t been on anything is Steve owned this song and Dream Away. So nobody could put on anything. BUT he just sold the rights to those songs so soon we may hear the original versions in good quality along with a new reconstruction of the music with polishing the vocals. Dream Away was super ahead of its time. Only thing about Dream Away is it doesn’t have those sweet harmony back vocals we love but, it’s something different and just a straight vocal with a message. All we have heard online is just a “version” of the songs. But soon we will hear them now.
OMG his vocals when he sings so fast and emotional, my heart can´t take it... the first listen I couldnt believe my ears... the song is ok but MJ takes it to the next level
yeah, super different and it's what makes the song I believe. He still has the Mike-isms but singing about a specific song, dating back to 1945 and talking about those events. This sounds like a finished song.
I´m thinking that for the movie promotion the estate is gonna release a new compilation album or an album featuring songs from the movie and some unreleased songs! I hope they release this song with new mixing
HOW WAS THIS NOT RELEASED???? I will never forgive Michael Jackson for not putting this song on one of his studio albums and also not putting “Blood On The Dance Floor” on an album rather than having it on a compilation….
Because it's a demo, it was supposed to be smooth criminal, it ended up being a demo, guess mj didn't like it, he changed it to smooth criminal, the story he's telling in Chicago 1945 is the same as in smooth criminal, just different lyrics and sound, the smooth criminal official music video actually represents and tells the story of Chicago in 1945, so this can't be a released track, bcz it was changed.
I do not think it is right to call it "Chicago Nights" as the title stands for INVINCIBLE ERA unreleased song, and Chicago 1945 (this audio) is from THRILLER-BAD ERA...
@@philcanselmo9436no it's from bad era, because it was meant for smooth criminal, it was originally the smooth criminal track, but mj later changed it, why do you think it's called Chicago 1945, the smooth criminal official music video actually represents Chicago in 1945, it's the same story but different sound
Sounds a little earlier to me. I thought for a while that this was Thriller era with an uncharacteristically aggressive approach, but revisiting it again, it sounds like very, very early Bad era to me. Like Al Capone kinda period. But his voice didn't change a whole lot between those albums, mostly his singing style, so it's hard to pinpoint it for sure.
It can't be a single because it's a demo of smooth criminal, al capone is not a demo it's a song on it's own that's it's released and Chicago 1945 is not
@@LunaticOptimist It could have been but it was unreleased but it could have been finished and easily been on a soundtrack. They are all 3 different songs
People I’m not surprised at hearing unreleased tracks because just from the dangerous album, he had well over at least 100 tracks and had to break it down to the 14 tracks they was on the album and he also gave away the track joy to teddy riley for the first blackstreet album.
observation, this song is not from 82, it started to be made at the end of 83, after the release of Thriller, and by the sound, this version appears to be the version worked on in the Bad sessions
@@larrymcdowdell274 it's definitely not Thriller, because it didn't even exist in that period, it could even be the version from the Victory sessions, but I think it's the version from the Bad sessions
@@MJBR_Official I'm sorry but i'm willing to bet it's most likely 1982-84. You could make the excuse it's both Thriller and Bad era by that though, I guess it comes down to what people want to accept.
@@alexkoch3712 like I said, it's definitely not 82, the song didn't exist at that time, and it doesn't seem to be from 1983, it's either the version from the Victory sessions or the bad sessions
@@nathanheaton2546 Chicago 1945 was never worked on for Thriller. Chicago 1945 was created a week after Thriller was released in December, 1982. Chicago 1945 was reworked many times to be intended for future albums like (1984) Victory, (1986) Bad, (1995) HIStory, and (2000) for Invincible. Chicago 1945 was supposed to be on Xscape but Steve Porcaro refused a remix and preferred the original version to not be tampered with. This was confirmed by Steve Porcaro himself in a seminar last year, and in June 26, 2014
Now, WHY wasn't this on either THRILLER or BAD?! This sounds great! This could've been a radio classic, 40 years ago. As always, THANK YOU. Again, why in God's name was this not included on Thriller 40, if it was part of that era? It has an absolute MJ/Toto/Rod Temperton vibe about it
Sure, but they decided they'd rather have people begging for more than feeling exhausted by the end. Invincible definitely could've lost a few tracks. HIStory and Dangerous are kinda the same… too much to digest at one time. 😋
@@KingLarrY4k34 According to Wikipedia, each side of a vinyl LP can hold 23-25 minutes of audio. Compact Discs can hold 74-80 minutes. So _Thriller_ was actually a full-length album (42 minutes) by 1982 standards. 🤯 _Bad_ was 44 minutes on vinyl, with a bonus song ("Leave Me Alone") on CD. Every album after that was designed to max out the length of a CD at 77 minutes, which means the vinyl edition is always a double album. _HIStory_ fits on _three_ vinyl LPs (77 minutes of new songs).

Chicago
It was Chicago 1945
Cubs lost that year, but Al Capone was found alive
They searched forty days, in the suburbs of the night
But they found him, alive
Alive
Young Joe DiMaggio hit his first home run
People gathered 'round, basking in the sun
Three girls disappeared, on a cold windy night
Never to be found again, never to be found again, so
Who solved that mystery late Chicago night?
You can't hide the truth, so won't you turn on the light?

It would have been an epic release! Nevertheless, I understand he had to cut so many ideas as albums can only contain so many songs. THIS IS SOOOO GOOD!!!!
Michael Jackson makes paradise great again...right now❤
If you see this comment you're dream partner loves you so much 🦋💍❤
This sound is so 80s!! I likeeee 🧐
The Legend lives forever..MJ songs will never fade away. Rest in peace our King of Pop.
This is the song Steve Porcaro
Great song... Thanks for sharing this masterpiece
The Estate just got the rights to this song and “Dream Away”
They should clean them up, fix the mix and release them officially. If they dont want to make a whole album they should just release them as singles on Spotify etc
How do we know they got the rights to them?
I dunno they might not release it due to the leaks
Make it an animated music video.
Steve Porcaro said this was worked around 84 during the Victory Tour, so in reality wasn't in 82
Recorded in 82, reworked in 84, 86 and 98
The vocals were likely recorded a few years before the instruments on this version.
It was recorded in December 1982 supposedly and was expected to be on the Jacksons' Victory Tour album in 1984. Unfortunately it never did.
This is the original Steve Pocaro produced mix finished in 1983 and the only version he will approve for release. The vocals were recorded in December 1982 in nine straight takes.
Either way, this song was first originated in the Thriller Era, then came Al Capone, and finally Smooth Criminal.
michael jackson staring directly at the screen is scary 1:06
His eyes are so seductive 💕😘
Once we've seen the zombie Mike in the Thriller video, those eyes did become intimidating
BECAUSEONTHECOVEROFTHECHICAGOTRIBUTEFEATUREDTHEWORLDSFAIRR!! BOI that line was quick loll
WHAT A TRACK!!
Where are yall getting this misinformation from about the Bad era this sounds nothing like the bad era
OMG his vocals when he sings so fast and emotional, my heart can´t take it... the first listen I couldnt believe my ears... the song is ok but MJ takes it to the next level
I feel exactly the same way
Best comment 🌹🩷
I was looking for this enhancement, it was soooo necessary, perfection ✨
This is amazing. Thank you very much for posting it.
its a really underrated song. waiting for it on your channel as it provides the best quality
I have been a fan for years and thats the first time Im hearing this. Thank you so so much for posting it. Those songs mean the world
this was ready. amazing and catchy! love you MJ
agreed! a shame it wasn't released
Mj flow on this one is so different and its fucking massive❤❤❤❤😮😮😮
yeah, super different and it's what makes the song I believe. He still has the Mike-isms but singing about a specific song, dating back to 1945 and talking about those events. This sounds like a finished song.
I could avoid listening to you to think I have life. And one day, you are back, and my life still breathing
I´m thinking that for the movie promotion the estate is gonna release a new compilation album or an album featuring songs from the movie and some unreleased songs! I hope they release this song with new mixing
OMG this is gold!!!!!!
fans sleepin on this leak fr fr
his best unreleased song imo
@@MoonwalkingKingdomI love this one and dream away!
@@MoonwalkingKingdomthis is my third favorite behind hot street and get it
I finally found them all - Chicago 1945, Al Capone, Smooth Criminal
The best yet ❤
How...When? Steve Porcaro made it sound like it would never see the light of day. God bless you!
this was leaked
HOLY COW!! THIS IS SOOOO GOOD!! TELL ME….. WHY AM I JUST FINDING THIS SONG NOW?
ok someone explain how i’m just hearing this song now
this is a masterpiece omg
3:15 takes me to HEAVEN
Unreleased, i think someone recorded it on their phone at the In the studio seminar or it was from Brad Suns stolen laptop
i LOVE Chicago 1945❤❤❤
Same
King of pop is back 👏👏👏
Michael jackson forever 😍😍
This has to be coming from heaven. This song is amazing.
Finally! Thank You Sven!😃💥💥💥
Heartbreaking lyrics.
Thematically it's similar to Al Capone/Smooth Criminal. In another world, the 3 songs would be a suite or something.
Would be fantastic suite
This has nothing to do with those 2 songs tho It would be cool if it was
@@KingLarrY4k34 similar vibe, but dude from above forgot to mention Blue Gangsta. it has the same vibe too
@@richard6932something like that
@@KingLarrY4k34yes it all has to do with missing girl, which can be Annie, looking for Al Capone who was part of the crime
Superb song. Jackson should have released it.
Michael Jackson thrad era
HOW WAS THIS NOT RELEASED????
I will never forgive Michael Jackson for not putting this song on one of his studio albums and also not putting “Blood On The Dance Floor” on an album rather than having it on a compilation….
Fr. Mj had material for at least two albums post invincible with the unreleased material we know at this point
@@LunaticOptimistbro made up his own fanfic, nice
Chicago 1945 sounds absolutely amazing!!!
Hope this unreleased song is officially released at some point!!!
Michael Jackson is amazing!!!
This is definitely Thriller era MJ
This is incredible Sven, thanks so much for all you do.
This song is really great.
The track should be on thr40.
Thanks.
Malheureusement il y a eu des embrouilles entre Porcaro et l'Estate 😢
Cannot believe the estate didn’t put this out. Absolute genius ❤
They wanted it for Xscape but Steve Porcaro didn't want his song to be remixed
@@TheShark94700 fair enough in that case. All the original versions on Xscape are way better than the remix's.
I’m going to preform this at a show!
This feels really Back To The Future-y
It does sound a bit like "The Power Of Love" and "Back In Time" by Huey Lewis and the News
Tiktok brought me here. This is one of those rare perfect songs. Deep meaning. Perfection.
Exactly ❤
Screw tick tock
Lovelove love. Michael😊
Nice song , damn Michael jackson is so magical, his voice is just a gift for all of us , oove him so much . Long live love the king
Oh this bangs
Great enhancement!! Will you ever enhance 'dream away'?
Amazing!!!
I do not think it is right to call it "Chicago Nights" as the title stands for INVINCIBLE ERA unreleased song, and Chicago 1945 (this audio) is from THRILLER-BAD ERA...
This one is from the thriller ear , the bad re-recorded version is unleaked/unreleased
@@philcanselmo9436no it's from bad era, because it was meant for smooth criminal, it was originally the smooth criminal track, but mj later changed it, why do you think it's called Chicago 1945, the smooth criminal official music video actually represents Chicago in 1945, it's the same story but different sound
You can tell that the vocals were recorded in the Bad Era
No, it was recorded a week after Thriller.
You are right. It was recorded for the BAD album but it didn't made the cut.
Nah it sounds more thriller
The vocals and synth are definitely post Thriller. This is for Bad era.
This is worth downloading
This could've easily been on a soundtrack and released as a single the same with AL Capone
Could have been the soundtrack to the untouchables.
2:11 - 2:22 first time listening and this slaps hard
People I’m not surprised at hearing unreleased tracks because just from the dangerous album, he had well over at least 100 tracks and had to break it down to the 14 tracks they was on the album and he also gave away the track joy to teddy riley for the first blackstreet album.
OMG I LOVE THIS SONG THIS IS MAGIC
observation, this song is not from 82, it started to be made at the end of 83, after the release of Thriller, and by the sound, this version appears to be the version worked on in the Bad sessions
Nope this is the Thriller - Victory Version
@@larrymcdowdell274 it's definitely not Thriller, because it didn't even exist in that period, it could even be the version from the Victory sessions, but I think it's the version from the Bad sessions
@@MJBR_Official Its Thriller Era I Ment. The Victory version Was The One That Got Leaked
Amazing song
I deeply love this song with all my life
When it's in HQ it sounds more thriller than Bad era
it was worked one for thriller but never made it so reworked for bad album then i heard rumours it may have been worked on during invincible
If you hear closely, doesn't have a lot of difference between bad and thriller era.
Just a little more deeper
The vocal is very Thriller era. The overall track (drums, horns, synthesizers) sounds very much like a production from Bad era.
@@captaindeadass4847this vid is the 82 version
Now, WHY wasn't this on either THRILLER or BAD?! This sounds great! This could've been a radio classic, 40 years ago. As always, THANK YOU. Again, why in God's name was this not included on Thriller 40, if it was part of that era? It has an absolute MJ/Toto/Rod Temperton vibe about it
This should have been released. This and Carousel and Someone in the Dark. So much wasted material. Thriller could have been a 20 track album.
Sure, but they decided they'd rather have people begging for more than feeling exhausted by the end.
Invincible definitely could've lost a few tracks. HIStory and Dangerous are kinda the same… too much to digest at one time. 😋
@@crnkmnky dangerous had a good amount tho your right about invincible, history was a double disc album so i think that doesn't count
@@KingLarrY4k34 According to Wikipedia, each side of a vinyl LP can hold 23-25 minutes of audio. Compact Discs can hold 74-80 minutes. So _Thriller_ was actually a full-length album (42 minutes) by 1982 standards. 🤯
_Bad_ was 44 minutes on vinyl, with a bonus song ("Leave Me Alone") on CD. Every album after that was designed to max out the length of a CD at 77 minutes, which means the vinyl edition is always a double album. _HIStory_ fits on _three_ vinyl LPs (77 minutes of new songs).
My fav unreleased MJ song except this isn’t the Thriller era session. This is the recording from 1986.
Steve Porcaro from Toto is an amazing writer producer…
Hope Chicago 1945 eventually gets released on cd
Michael Jackson the one and only God Of Groove
I’m in Chicago now
Who's here after the estate bought this song and dream away
When they do that?
I'm happy i found this hidden gem yesterday 👍🏻 love michael
yall i dont care this screams bad era, the raspy voice and the beat. Its so late 80s mike
That’s exactly what I was thinking when I was listening to it. I think thriller Mike’s voice was a lot lighter and smoother than this.
I actually heard it was supposed to be on the victory album
I can only imagine, if Michael made a new version of this song, it would be groovy asf..🔥 I can feelit.
He made many versions of this song
these vocals!! whew chile
Because of this song every time I hear an ambulance I immediately think of it 😭
Love. Mj. Genio. King. ❤🎉😮😊
This one reached my soul .. I thank Jesus. This is BEAUTIFUL 💯
