    i really hope someday theres a big, publicised documentary interviewing lots of people about how these auditions ruined their lives and all the lies that were put out there. its so unfair that people like debi still get effected by it to this day. the truth should be out there

    I wondered what happened to Debi. It's good to know that she's still around!
    How she was treated by the judges was absolutely disgusting! She has a really pretty voice, also Louis talking about her mum was absolutely horrendous, that would set anyone off!
    She seems like such a sweet woman, I wish her nothing but the best in her life. I do have an air of guilt watching the bad auditions, I used to watch them and laugh at them, because I was young and didn't know any better.
    These are actual people that are paraded around like animals at the circus.

    One thing I didn’t understand was why they played the theme tune to Psycho when Louis Walsh said she wasn’t a good singer. What exactly were they trying to achieve by doing that?
    It seems to me as though they were trying to portray Debbie as a Psychopath or something which she clearly isn’t. Talk about manipulation!!! Seriously!!!
    I really hope that she’s doing well now and she’s fully healed from this horrible experience on there.
    You are a sweet and lovely lady Debbie, so don’t ever let anyone put you down alright.

    • @LadyCandic
      @LadyCandic  8 місяців тому +1

      Very good point. Even their small subtleties were manipulative. She has not healed from the experience because the hate and harassment never really stopped. Despite all of that she has still managed to be an awesome and generous person

    I'll be completely honest. When i was a teenager i would watch the x factor every week and auditions like Debi's and find them funny. As an adult looking back i feel so disgusted and awful about that because people were taken advantage of and used for stupid Saturday night "entertainment" then just left to deal with the consequences for years. Its heartbreaking 💔

    • @LadyCandic
      @LadyCandic  3 місяці тому +4

      I did the exact same thing never realizing how exploited they were. I watched many more of the "bad auditions" because it was better entertainment but now I'm realizing it just lined the pockets of producers at the contestants expense :(

    1st things first : I enjoy the channel and learning of the past contestants we all got to love. Whether that was for good or bad reasons, we all loved them.
    Now on that note , it's really too bad that you take down comments that you feel are negative. I mean, half of these contestants were loved for their negativity. Thus, we wouldn't have even known about them without their OWN negative comments and/or behavior... kind of ironic now considering your disclaimer...
    Negative comments will get pushed to the bottom anyways by users and readers.
    However, negativity is a natural , normal , human emotion. And suppressing that is very dangerous & questionable, and can actually lead to more negativity.
    In a world where Free Speech is under attack by companies & authorities, I find it very concerning that individuals & civilians would take that same stance of censorship, to further propel the attack and degradation of human feelings & rights.
    Like you said, "She's heard it all before" & "After 17 years, those haters should seek council if they're still sour"
    Also, deleting the comments won't help your video's algorithm, but I don't think that really bothers you, as you seem to just genuinely want to make wholesome videos for fun and positivity rather than for views. And we like that 😁
    Again, I love the channel and have been subbed for a while. And wish you would re-consider your stance of censorship. Kind of like when you are researching contestants, but then find out they went down a dark road, and then abandon their stories. I believe your subs got you to reconsider, so we could still hear about their stories... positive or not. Life is not always happy and positive and safe. It's a crazy ride, and that makes it entertaining and worth living.
    Besides, if we don't allow people to be negative, how will we know who the jerks are? Everyone just becomes a fake once we go down that road.
    I wish you'd reconsider and just allow the comments, so we can just "👎" them to the bottom, know who the haters are, and push the positivity to the top... Just like real life.
    Haters are going to hate, and that's fine. But being intolerant towards them is again... ironic at best , but hypocritical at worst ; the "tolerant" being intolerant against someone who opposes them.
    "Protecting" people from negativity only does a dis-service to them in the end. Whatever happened to "Sticks and Stones..." or "Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger". Did we all forget that stuff and just become soft and sensitive?
    Censorship of (what we have left) of Free Speech is a very dangerous road...
    But hey, it's your channel.
    Thanks for the content either way ❤

    • @LadyCandic
      @LadyCandic  9 місяців тому +4

      I understand your stance as I’ve actually held the same regard since the early days of my channel. Debi has developed actually health issues due to the hate she’s received and I have the power to protect her here. Not everyone is level headed.. some people are super angry in life and take that anger out on innocent people. She has heard it a hundred times, but she shouldn’t have had to hear it at all. If I saw a classmate being bullied I would step up and say something. It’s easier here.. I can simply hit the delete button and not give them any power. You’re probably frustrated because it’s harder to express opinions without triggering someone in todays world. I can relate to that. I wouldn’t delete differing opinions, just the straight up hate. Ironically though we are saying this for nothing because everyone has been very nice and supportive :) thank you for subbing!

  • @BlueBlazer47

    Re. Louie's attempts to break out of the "sidelined, nice guy" role, I agree completely. He was very mean to a singer called Emma, partner of the tall, blind man, Pete (?). Louis wrongly stated that Pete's voice was a lot better than Emma's - and it wasn't. Surprisingly, Simon agreed (and Sharon too, I believe). That was baffling. There were hints of Peters & Lee with the duo, as they were BOTH great singers who harmonized well. Louis once even said, in response to Sharon's criticizing him for being gratuitously cruel to a 16-year-old girl, "HE (Simon) gets away with it!" It's a role that doesn't suit Louis Walsh at all. I actually prefer Sharon to her husband, Ozzy, who's a ruddy awful singer and a man who abuses animals.

    Love to know what’s happened to Michael Lewis good or bad even George Gerasimou it’s great just to have the plain truth!
    It took me ten seconds to realise that was Deb at the end because her voice was nothing like it sounded on x factor. She has a terrific voice.

    When I first watched her audition, I was very confused because she's a very good singer, and they told her she "meh", but what really struck me was that the whole situation seemed too unnatural - I felt like Louie was provoking her for no reason, and the background music for some sort of comedic/creepy vibe - the lengths they go to for views...
    Now that I get to hear the whole story behind all this, the way Debi reacted actually makes sense - I would've reacted the same way If I were her, but they manipulated the content, making her some sort of "drama queen" that doesn't take "no" for an answer. Really nasty move.
    X F*ctor did her wrong; they can destroy people, giving them PTSD, and anxiety for YEARS and it's horrible. Shows like this should be illegal. Their ways are just psychopathic. (They did the same thing with Zoe Alexander, portraying her as some sort of Pink wannabe while she tried to break away from that image🤦🏼‍♀️)
    Debi is a lovely woman, and she never deserved any of this. I wish her and her family all the best. And she has a beautiful voice - I felt chills during the final clip.
    Thank you for reaching out to Debi, I really wanted to hear from her. Stories like these need to be told, and need to be heard. 🙏❤

    The judges and producers on these shows are the real psychos, manipulating and exploiting others for ratings/money. It was sad listening to how badly Debi’s audition has affected her life, when she did nothing wrong. People who abuse others in the street or throw things from a car at someone they don’t even know have serious issues and urgently need to seek therapy for themselves. Debi has something the judges and producers of these crap shows will never have: authenticity.

  • @clavierwintergreen5574

    If possible, could you SSL on Andrew Fenlon - the folk who sang ‘House of the Rising Sun’?
    Although his attitude seemed a bit arrogant at first, I think he was unnecessarily attacked (especially by Kara) after a point. The judges also seem to have judged more on things other than his singing.
    On a side note - and I could be wrong about this - it seems as though he might be on the spectrum.

    It seems like you really harp on blaming X Factor for what people like her went through. What about blaming the thousands or millions of people who participated in the on-line bullying, or the in-person bullying? I want to mention here though, just for the record, that while I am a fan of the old X-Factor and American Idol audition videos, I have cringed when people were criticized for their looks (which Debi wasn't, at least in the part of the audition I saw on line). It does and did seem cruel to me; people may be able to help how they act but not how they look.

    • @LadyCandic
      @LadyCandic  4 місяці тому +1

      That’s a recent realization ive had myself as well. It is just as much the viewers fault for feeding into this type of entertainment. They would not have been successful at exploiting them if we as an audience weren’t enjoying it. And it’s not so much the average viewer who liked it, it’s the ones that took their anger straight to them and still do.
