That guitar tone sounds really good to me. It's big and fat, but also crisp and well defined. There's a clarity that lets the notes jump out at you. It's got some bite, too.
You say it doesn’t do metal or heavy stuff… then you go on to play some metal and heavy stuff. 😮 and it sound amazing!
It can do it, but not as easily as other guitars at this price. The pickups are voiced to be quite versatile. Thanks for watching! :)

Is it good for metal? And what about the fretboard...i wanna play like megadeth riffs and solo....will it be ok...or can u refer other more versatile guitars...
Maybe Jackson guitars would be a better option for Megadeth etc because they have high output pickups and a 12"-16" compund radius fretboard; great for heavy riffs and solos too.

Not super aggressive tone, for sure, but still perfect melodeath tune and the guitar tone doesn't even sound out of place, so well done Pete!!!

I’ve always seen PRS as a great guitar maker since the early 90’s. Pickups are always an add-on item to the body itself for your liking. 🤘🏻 Your art on whatever you play far reaches over whatever quality. Love the music my dude.

The pickups do lack a little aggression, but it's pretty cool that PRS's budget guitars sound that good right out of the box
Thanks for the vid! Yes, the PUs might not be ideal of metal, but they are incredible for just about everything else. Think modern PAF, with legit coil split. Very well voiced.

Pickups can be easily replaced with much better options, but the PRS SE's playability and finish are second to none in this price range.

Thanks for the review and the track, I was wondering how the new PRS sound heavily distorded and if I should invest in some Bare Knuckles pickup in them. Really nice tone but lacks a little bit of grit for the most intense stuff, but would still be really nice for some gojira-eske riffs I guess!
Or you could keep it all PRS and throw some Tremonti pickups in them

I have an SE. Totally love it. I see no reason to spend twenty times as much to get a Core.

Bangin video man, that solo had som Synyster gates vibe to me, but maybe you could spice up the tea burst with some golden covered 57/66 tw's and use the DPDT TW mini toggle switch for the single coil mode. Then you can choose to fill the second mini toggle spot with their PA2 overdrive or the Pi2 phase reversal. Cheers!
In general, PRS pickups veer towards the mellow and whilst they respond really well to high gain, they are far from metal-oriented pickups. Still, I have to say this sounds pretty amazing.

Just because it doesn’t look metal doesn’t mean it doesn’t do metal. I found PRS guitars are excellent for metal and drop tunings.

Hmmm, I'm thinking get one and throw a set of Keith Merrow pickups in it, you'd be able to make good use of those switches.

Uh... so, there are these things called changing your pick-ups and it's really cool and I think you would like it alot.
hahahaha... just fxking around, when companies send you stuff are you supposed to not alter it in any way or is the instrument yours forever, to do what you please with it? I'd throw some EMGs on it and with that solid body, it would sound so heavy and brutal. I'm really a fan of this guitar, that body style is super tough looking. Good luck with everything buddy and I love your channel!
Shame the switches are not just added to the control knobs as push pull. Cheapens the look PRS.

Pete - Would the PRS Custom 24 be suitable for Rock/Punk style music?? (Paramore, Blink182, Nirvana, AC/DC etc.)
Also PRS did bring out a version with Metal pickups but it was Floyd only :( I was like nooo.
Oh absolutely, it would be great for those styles. If anything the PRS pickups are more voiced in a vintage direction rather than modern styles so they should be able to do Punk/Rock very well. Thanks for watching! :)

Sounds like you listened to a lot of Arch Enemy before writing that song.
I write Lyrics. When I do, I can Hear the Music they are to go with. Problem is, I can't Write Music or Play the Music that is meant to go with the Lyrics. I have Hundreds of Lyrics in Notebooks that All Have their Own Music for but No way of putting music to them.
The One time I gave some Lyrics to a Friend who knew someone in a Band to put music to the lyrics, they fucked up and ended up being a Punk Type Song back in the early 90's. Those Lyrics... "You are Fucking Unbelievable" but EMF took out the Swearing and the music they put them was all wrong.. Was Not meant to be Punk or that style of music. Those were meant to be Harder, Angrier. But people don't and can not believe I wrote those lyrics...
So when I hear Music Like yours, I want to Write lyrics for it but think that you had lyrics in mind but just didn't want to add lyrics, you are all about the music.
Is it Easier to Write Lyrics without Music or with Music in mind?
Tho I do have Great Alternative Lyrics for Saigon Kicks: Love is on the way... to: Murder is on the way.. And flow just as nice and would not be able to tell if mine or theirs were the original lyrics...
