Sorry for your loss brother man. Driver camera? Faces inside the truck too? In Canada, their court ruled that driver facing cameras infringe on your expectation of privacy. The US needs to pass that too because while inside a truck with the curtains pulled around you should have an expectation of privacy.
Good to hear from you. Thanks for the video and updates in your life. Praying for a smooth transition in your new truck as well as peace for your family. So sorry to hear about your father-in-law.
Hey man welcome back! Had me confused for a minute when you said you went reefer! Sad that I won't be able to have you as a tanker trainer now but glad you are back and getting it again. So sorry for your loss also. Give your wife our regards ❤
Rex, I'm very sorry for your family loss. Thoughts and prayers for you and your bride. I have really enjoyed your videos. I started out hauling horses then changed direction and hauled exotic cars along with some landoll equipment work. I was in my twenties back then, now turning 67 and enjoy the memories of old school trucking. It's nice to ride along and see how much the industry has changed. Stay safe, keep up your great attitude towards life and people.
love your video. Thanks for explaining what happen as I was searching for your video and this is the only one in the past month Good you are taking care of the family. God bless you on the road and your family. Take care. Enjoy the video nice
I'm sorry to hear about all that. It's interesting to see the switch as well, and I'm curious about why. I'm currently in TNT, a bit of 10k miles in, and I'm still concerned and confused about whether I will go company or lease. Again, sorry to hear about yall's loss. Rest in peace.
Pro tip to slide your fifth wheel…. Release the pins, dolly down, dump your air bags, slides like butter. Lock pins, slide to lock, reinflate, dolly up
So sorry for the loss of your father-in-law. Seeing you in that Pete reminds me of my time on the road. I had 2020 579 when I was trucking. There was a nice barbeque restaurant I liked to visit on my route during my time out on the road in Mt Vernon, TX at the TA Express.
So sorry for your loss. Glad to see you again. Missed your content. Really like that black satin jacket you were wearing at 2:09. What does it say on back?
I wonder if Prime still has that local run. In 2016, i did my psd with the local guy, and we went to the truck near the pilot and delivered to grocery stores around the area. It was cool because i got to see the two towns i grew up in that I hadn't seen for a while.
Damn I was going to be coming to prime inc a couple months and was gonna see if you could do my TNT training specially since I can learn not just the trucking side but also the lease/business side.
Wow. Just wow. Lost my wife the same way. Okay. Let's get centered and refocus. Solo, and going to be safe and make money. God bless and safe travels. Condolences to you all
God bless you and your family, loss is always hard. Stay safe and appreciate the time you have with family while they are still here with you. I learned the true value of that after losing my Mom, Dad and Older Brother in just over a year. I just came across your channel, I subscribed. I was wondering if you can tell me if my wife and I, team driving, in the tanker division at prime is a good choice based on your experience? Will we get the miles to be successful?
How are you doing Mr. Rex Norm Kolenda 1944 from Marlette Michigan When did you move over to the reefer aside from the tanker side at prime ink master Rex
Does Prime tanker division operate in Texas? When I applied, I wanted to do tanker. First day of orientation I was told I could only do reefer or flatbed being that my home state is Texas.
About that camera. They lied to you. Its always recording. How else can it grab a capture when an incident occurs if it isn't always recording. Now maybe both lights are on IF they are actively monitoring you but, its always recording.
Yes, just like how you’re always being recorded at McDonald’s, Amazon, Walmart and every other job that you work for, let’s not make a camera such a big deal
Always recording, usually only saved video about 30 seconds during a trigger like bumps, hard braking, speeding, following too close or whatever. Don't do dumb things that will cost your job. Companies can mark you as unsafe on dac report since they got you on camera if you do something stupid
i was just goingthrough your videos and noticed you basically haul inedible. It doesn't look like you haul HazMat. or do you? do you have the endorsement?
Just a question from someone who is thinking about maybe going to prime, but what is a normal truck lease payment when driving for prime? If you feel comfortable sharing
I worked at prom from January to August of this year. I can tell you that I lived off savings I made OTR the year before while I was at prime. It averaged around $3,000 of expenses for my truck the least I had at the company prior to them was only 1300. Yes prom was very expensive and they make you pay for a lot of things, but I did get my highest grossing loads at prom. However, it definitely was not consistently high loads. I'm local now but I'll be back otr next month cause I miss the money
Condolences to you and ur wife on the family issue. I listened to ur quick review on why you quick running refer and honestly i dont think you gave it a fair chance. Yes trying to reach the live load dept to verify all the info can take a while but not normally. That long wait time you had was the exception not the norm. I've waited over an hr for them to answer. When that happened i went outside and rechecked everything but i kept the paperwork with me in case they answered. Normally they answer within ten or fifteen mins. Having to slide tandems is no big deal. Takes less than two mins when you know what ur doing and simple math. Having to worry about refer fuel is no reason to quit either. Thats the easiest part of the job. The load and unload wait times is what you should be concerned with. They can drive you crazy. Some places are relatively quick and some places can take many, many hrs. You didnt get a true feeling of what reefer is like. Not at two weeks. Give it maybe six months and not during winter bc being shutdown for inclement weather and the appt time at the customer has to be rescheduled will make you want to quit. Run like march- august. Were you able to sleep with the reefer running?
Hi Rex. Sorry for your loss. I am looking for info to find out if I want to try to go lease so please forgive the questions. Your 2k settlement is after all expenses (truck payment, fuel, insurance, etc.)? Second question, that 2k, for the average person should still be looking at about 30 percent taxes bringing the true take home to approximately $1.4k? Am I calculating these expectations correctly? Thanks in advance.
Your calculations are correct if you don’t have any deductions then 30% is correct. This is why I write everything off like my cell phone bill. Sirius XM, my truck internet, I also write off my home office as my work office which is a huge deductions.
@@truckingwithrex Thanks man, I am single no kids and have been over the road before in a box truck. I think I can put in a solid 6 months at least in a lease and dedicate myself to working. As long as I don't get skunked on the loads or a lemon truck I think Ishould be ok.
Oh no they put Netradyne... A.K.A "Big Brother" in your truck... it tracks all, speeding, cornering, seat belt even slight bumps that's a bit rough. It tracks eye movement as well. You will even get infractions for touching anything like your phone if your truck is in gear. Best of luck with REF-Trucking. side personal note from me, if you got the option to ditch the cam do so...
I drive for a reefer company based in Texas that offers 10k for every driver you refer. With your subscription base, this could be beneficial for you. There is no cap on how many drivers you refer so the skys the limit. If you're interested, let me know and ill shoot you the details. Also I'm real, currently in New Jersey, they are experiencing their own version of the movie Independence Day with all the drones flying around.
Woah Woah! You need to give us an explanation for switching to the dark side! Wish you would had done a video about considering this! Us tanker yankers would had said hell no! FYI I knew a really successful guy that would always put his truck in the hole and taking advances. His fleet manager was forced to give him good loads to get his truck out of the hole! LMAO! Yes this was with Prime!
I thought I’d have more training opportunities like training 3-4 guys at a time and be home everyday but obviously this didn’t work lol some of these PSD trainers are making 250k a year w2 money if your training 3 guys at a time. Prime was only giving me 1 at a time so yeah….
Bro didn't learn from his first lease. Prime is a waste of time.....I challenge Rex to post up some REAL settlements and show how it's really going. After it all shakes out, you make rookie company driver money.
Calling in to verify your bols before departing is crazy. If you're doing what you're supposed to do and paying attention there should be no reason to show any of that to dispatch
Only God knows how much I need this job 😢 Lord when 🥹thank you so much and I’m so glued to your videos , hopefully one day my dream will become a reality

Yes! Only trucks available at the time I got a new lease was international or Pete so chose a Pete
Hey Rex what's up my guy so what made you go to a pete instead of another freightliner
When I went to pick out a truck it was international or Pete no freightliner trucks 🤷♂️ people snatch them up quickly
