I have never understood a word she says…but what I have always known since I first saw her in the ‘70’s is what an incredible musician she is. What freakin’ talent and passion!
I remember watching her on Johnny Carson in the 70's. She was married to Xaviver Cugat back then. The Coochie-Coochie girl. She was a riot. Still amazing and beautiful. I had forgotten how fantastic she was on the guitar.
Absolutely amazing flamenco player! And I agree why the hell are all those people talking during such a great performance. They have no clue is all I can say. At 70+ she’s still just as good… what a talent!
I remember watching her play back flamenco in the early 1960s. She was introduced as just 17 years old. I was probably 12 or 13 at the time. I later learned that her date of birth was 1952. How could she be that much younger than I? Over the years, I've heard her dates of birth as in 1940, 1942, 1946, and 1952. I don't know if Charo herself knows for sure. Whatever. The lady is a prodigy!
Wow I’m 58 now and I remember watching her on tv..she’s so beautiful and talented 😮 glad to see her still playing and sharing her incredible talent 🙌🏼🎸
Can you not see joy, passion, talent, she is phenomenal, forever, Charo! Chochi, chochi, love her, she is a leader, fearless, that is a true example of courage
Saw her in concert at the Mohegan when I went back to CT, she is incredible at 74 years old, passion, fire, she is the epitome of her status as a world-renowned flamingo guitarist, not only passionate, but presence on stage radiates to each person because she is extending love
Just saw Charo in concert for the first time, last night in Las Vegas at the South Pointe Casino. She blew me away! She is so fantastic, as a singer, guitar player, and all around entertainer. Her energy is unbelievable! She is 73 years old. I am 56 and could no begin to keep up with her. Of all her talents, her guitar playing is what is most impressive. She could play with anyone in the world. She puts on a spectacular show. I have seen a lot of shows and this ranks as one of the absolute best. If you have never seen Charo in person and get a chance, take it. She is amazing!
Long live Madame Charo. Undisputed queen of the guitar. I’ve played for 30 years now and I aspire to be as proficient as she. I bow before her greatness.
She was voted best Flamenco guitarist in the world twice by guitar magazine. People knew it. She played quite frequently on shows like Ed Sullivan, etc.
@suzieredfoxfur6982 I think she chose to affect that ditzy "gucci-gucci girl" persona because she knew where the money was. No doubt it was frustrating a lot of the time to have to play a character who was basically an ongoing joke, but she was able to laugh all the way to the bank and be her "real self" for those who knew, when the time was right.
Thank-you for this excellent video !!! It's a real treat to see Charo perform live with all her amazing skill and talent !!! I was thrilled to see her perform live in Waikiki in Feb. 1996 , and still cherish that evening !!! God bless Charo !!! Muchas gracias 😁❤👍

@@debbielockhart7762 I meant because quite often people that have jobs (as hers) that use their hands and fingers find that with age our hands and fingers don’t like to play like they did before we grow older. I’m 70.
I’ve played violin and guitar for 23 years… really, the calluses only form for about the first six months, when you begin playing, as your skin gets accustomed to the pressure of a thin, sharp string being pushed into it. Lol. But if you’re like me and play everyday, or at least 5-6 days a week, there are no more calluses after a few months.
I have never understood a word she says…but what I have always known since I first saw her in the ‘70’s is what an incredible musician she is. What freakin’ talent and passion!
I don't have a problem understanding her...of course, some of my relatives had WORSE accents when I was growing up.
She said...a song you wanna hear😮
@briankeith6256
You Don't have to understand a Word She Says , Her Excellent Guitar Playing Speaks for Itself.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Holy crap this lady can shred. Still killing it world class style.
I love that after all these decades she remains just as passionate about her love for guitar.
On a side note, why the fuck are all these people talking during her performance? How rude!
Charo breaks cultural barriers with the international language of music! Amazing Flamenco Guitarist !!
Charo being a female, is still one of the world's greatest guitar players of all time.
I remember watching her on Johnny Carson in the 70's. She was married to Xaviver Cugat back then. The Coochie-Coochie girl. She was a riot. Still amazing and beautiful. I had forgotten how fantastic she was on the guitar.

Born January 15, 1951, at 73 she still is going strong, love her, a phenomenal woman
Or 83, depending on which one you believe. She legally somehow got a judge to ok a change to her date of birth back in the 70s, if I remember right.
Segovia personally took over her guitar lessons when she was in covenant school in Spain.
Segovia was one of the best!
In her 70s and still looking as gorgeous as ever.
No she is not. A lot of face-lift in there!!!
She olny gets better with age I love Her passion also❤ John Barnett

The original Shakira. She's bad ass. Love Charo. I wanna read HER story.

A lot of non-flamenco players have no idea what an incredible guitar player she is. She is extremely talented and also puts on a great show
Good Talent ,just does not age, thanks CHARO❤ Dobie Wan Kanobie ❤ God Bless.
In her 70's doing such? Me on my twenties, my fingers could never? As if she got the anti arthritis in her body, such a legend
Is she really in her 70s though? She always seems timeless to me.
She was, what, 71 here? Still looks and sounds great, and still plays a mean guitar.
Charo is such a pleasure to hear her play. Incredible playing skills mixed with her love for her guitar. You rock !!
Long live Madame Charo.
Undisputed queen of the guitar. I’ve played for 30 years now and I aspire to be as proficient as she. I bow before her greatness.
I remember seeing her on episodes of The Love Boat.
Not many women in their 70s can still be this hot.
It takes a lot of surgery though!
This musical masterpiece will remain immortal forever because it came out of a sad, tormented heart that touches the feeling non-stop🌍
At 71? She is amazing!😮 Love Femenco❤
This woman's an inspiration in multiple ways.
you got that right mate..her enthusiasm for life and love is off the charts...she has a heart of gold
She is a joy to listen to and I love the way she's so into her music
I had her name Charo on my first new car's license plate for years. Talented lady. 😮😎
It's sad she's only known in the 1970's on game shows, guest shots on TV. When she's actually a damn good guitarist.
I agree 100% ... I am totally blown away ... and she is 70ish here
She was voted best Flamenco guitarist in the world twice by guitar magazine. People knew it. She played quite frequently on shows like Ed Sullivan, etc.
Fascinating Lady! With Class.
Charo just Tore-It-Up again Tonight at Mohegan Sun!
Just got home from the show myself.
She is amazing!
Why was she never given credit? She's go an amazing talent voice and guitar!
Was voted the best Flamenco player in the world several times. She was given credit by people that know what talent is.

So happy to see her & still phenomenal!
It’s amazing she doesn’t have arthritic hands or fingers at her age!
Awesome♥️
Why is that amazing? Most people don't have arthritic hands (yes, even at 70).
@@debbielockhart7762 I meant because quite often people that have jobs (as hers) that use their hands and fingers find that with age our hands and fingers don’t like to play like they did before we grow older. I’m 70.
She said all kinds of jibber-jabber, but damn that woman can PLAY!
Meanwhile she definitely speaks more languages than you do 😂
She was trained as a child by Andres Segovia himself.
You didn’t understand her? Lol. She was basically saying she’s at the audience’s service, and she wants to entertain.
@@Tinker-xr1giFun Fact She Can Speak Japanese Better than English.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
The Arabs may have brought us the guitar, but we Spanish perfected it!
Now you can't have a guitar shape in a store window in Saudi Arabia. Too female. What a world.
She's coming to Livermore CA in April. Can't wait to see her!
mujera maravilla 👏🏻⭐🏆🏅
Legend.
She studied under Andrés Segovia.
😮 did not know that!
I heard her say her Daddy taught her a lot of guitar also.
A gem.🏅👏🏻💐
This is going to sound like an odd pairing but I would LOVE to see her and Steve Howe play together. It would be amazing.
Did not see that coming :)
Excellent performance. She must have some really tough calluses on her fingertips or super strong fingernails.
I'd guess both.

Your skin just becomes used to it. Of course moisturizing is good too.
Charo! 😊
Beautiful ❤
Very nice indeed!
WunderBaR ❤❤❤
I feel sorry for people who only know her for those cringy game show appearances
Such a lively version ✔️
Eso vestido que tan bonito
Aguante Charoooooo!!!
1:18 get it
And then there’s a Karen shallow Karen
Doing good for 81 year old.
She's 72. Born January 15 1951.
@@davitofarito That is in dispute. It appears she was born in the decade before that, but either way, she is doing great, eh?
Thank goodness all that plastic surgery did not affect her playing ability!!
She did a concert in Miami this year and one can see she's had another one. 😆
She's super good, it is too bad about her face being warped by all that plastic though, she used to be so beautiful!
I couldn't care less how her faces looks, as long as she's killing it on the guitar.
Dude she is like 80-something, plastic surgery or not you ain't gonna look like you did 40 years ago
@@mongothedogboy would have looked far more elegant and graceful if she kept her real nose at least.
@jojjijoe5215 I agree with you, but I try not to judge people for those sort of decisions.
