The foo fighters are probably one of the only bands that gets far better once you “get to know” the members, because Dave, Taylor, pat etc are the most wholesome guys ever man
@@justinpicard16 unless you’re a musician yourself you’ll never understand what it’s like to want to perfect your art. If he wasn’t playing the way Dave wanted his music to be played i feel like Dave has a right to redo the drum tracks given that he’s the main songwriter of the music
I feel that's true with most bands I like. I can't think of a band I like where once you get know them your disappointed. Obviously there's great bands with shitty people in them. But I think getting to know a band always makes their music that much better (I guess as long as their cool people).
"Wholesome" is an odd word choice. By rock standards, yes, they are fairly wholesome. By normal standards, they are definitely not wholesome. I don't think wholesome is a good thing, so that's fine with me. Dave smokes a lot of pot, smokes cigarettes, drinks alcohol, and was fairly crazy during a certain period following Nirvana in Los Angeles. He has fornicated with a LOT of groupies. We know all this from his auto biography.
I never really cared about the Foo Fighters, until I started seeing some of Grohl's videos, and his humour and humility. especially, how he shows respect and pays homage to other great artists before him. Now I'm a big fan.
I came to the FF that way too. I'm at the age and space of mind where... How you're made up is as or more important than who or what you are... I dig FF music but I absolutely love and respect Dave and his hardcorely-humble way...
Without a real high fi system, you can't really hear what Copeland is doing and you won't get it. Once you hear him in a high resolution system he becomes one of the best drummers ever and super entertaining to listen to.
Foo Fighters are such an inspiration. Especially Dave. One of my local heroes. “The reward of playing music is playing music” my band will make it. Mark my words. We will open for the foo fighters!
I was at that show. David Grohl got on top of a port-o-potty in the middle of Dodger Stadium and played his guitar. I still wonder if there was anybody doing their business in there while it happened.
He literally goes to dinner parties and loves to tell everyone how much he hates jazz drummers. He's very open about it. Stewart is a great drummer for sure but he often makes Ginger Baker seem mildly opinionated and/or arrogant.
When that helicopter flew over, Dave got on the mic pointing at it and said “there’s Stewart!!“ - was awesome to see those guys fanning out over him, and then when the Police came out Stewart absolutely crushed it and drove their whole set home
what insight you have!! i thought i was imagining the tension and weirdness when dave approached stewart copeland's table! i thought maybe copeland might have just been not used to dave's type personality, but i think it was more about ego. but dave is such a natural sweetheart he can mediate any situation!!
When I was a kid in Grade school (5th grade) and Jr High, The Police had been my favorite band, and THEN I found Heavy metal in High school. It was the 80's, heavy metal was everywhere, I still love metal. Now, IF The Police are REALLY going to get back together, I would be shocked. The guys had not gotten along very well, especially Sting and Stewart Copeland, But, who knows, maybe they will tour again? Taylor had been a very talented drummer. And seemed like a great guy, I can see how Stewart would get along with him. Okay, so, at the approx 2:30 mark Dave says that he can't wait to see "The Police" perform, so, they did? At the end of the video, there is a band performing onstage, BUT, it is NOT "The Police" meaning the ORIGINAL band with "Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland.
Aunt KItti's having the most lovely time ever. They have everything here. There was a Kiosk where they sold Orange Julius AND personal fans -- both - at the same time. Heaven! (Time out: This could sound weird. I'm goofing, because I feel awkward with my fannish flames for both S.C and F.F.)
Was listening to the police and randomly thought "I bet dave grohl has something to say about stuart copeland, wonder whats on youtube" and here we are
Funny - Dave & the Foo's can fly Stewart across the country on a private jet and here he pretends their catering at this stadium gig is like that of an unknown garage band on a club tour with a $20 budget.
+spinalcrackerbox yeah lame, especially when he turned it down to begin with looking very disinterested then starts going on about how he wished they could have lamb, dave I know your trying to be entertaining but try and at least be a little believable
ya, ghrol complains about not having lamb and eating hot dogs, but the foos have a private jet. you came a long way from scream dave. p.s. you are still my fav drummer
I've never found Matt Cameron particularly as technical and jazzy as Copeland. More simple (but not in a bad way, just his own style). Jack Irons of the Red Hot Chillis and Pearl Jam (for their Vitalogy, No Code, and Yield albums) is probably a bit closer in my opinion.
Know every police song and nirvana and even them crooked vultures were good...but why do the foo fighters have a jet? I dont even know any of their songs
I'm a huge Police fan. You really haven't listened to the Foo Fighters. You can hear Copeland's influence on Taylor Hawkins. I love the Foo Fighters. They don't have an Andy Summers. But then again, who does?
mnegline1971 Listen to The Feast and the Famine and Best of You... those songs alone entitle them to a private jet so they can fly anywhere the fuck they please anytime they want imo
they are the biggest rock band in the world right now and for a long time now? Have sold a gazillion records and sell out show after show and play a gazillion shows a year........money happens with this.
Alexander Ruiz , it *was* contrived, and someone, somewhere, knows why. It was not spontaneous. Someone is trying to send a message about food. Or something. Awkward and not flowing. Painful to Watch.
Seriously….lol…you all are putting way too much on it. Besides, the middle was edited out…and dave's…"Lamb, we get hot dogs"…just playing the part!….People are way to serious and read too much into things.
slight clash of personalities, but they were just greeting each other. Dave was joking bout the food, his tour rider is very in depth right down the the type of ice in his drinks.
Copeland is prob the most unique and creative drummer ever

My 3 favourite drummers EVER together. Wow.
Some drummers get slagged , like Ulrich, but there is not one comment anywhere on the internet that slags copeland. His drumming is so fucking clever
Taylor loved Stewart Copeland, Neil Pert, Alex Van Halen and of course Dave Grohl
What a sad day 💔🤘☮️😢

How ironic to be watching this video right now. R.I.P TAYLOR HAWKINS you will be missed brother!!! 🤘🤘🤘
Fun interplay and chemistry between Taylor and Stewart here...

R.I.P. Taylor. Dead at 50. Damn.

Stewart hates jazz

David G is what every famous person should be. Humble, funny, and a great family man.
So is Stewart. Both are super cool guys and timeless. And so talented! Rock on!! God bless you all 🙏❤️🙏
Man Dave never seeing the Police reminds me to be thankful I saw the Synchronicity tour at Day On The Green. Snuck right in there at the end.
I saw the Police in nov 1979 expecting s pop show I saw my first reggae concert
Cool, I had no idea that The Police got together to play again.
RIP Taylor! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🥁🥁
I saw the Police in New Giants stadium. Mostly everybody got to see Stewart Copeland and cross that off. He was really good too.
That was cool. They all seem like nice guys.
