Bro grapes are being grown in southern Maharashtra like Solapur, Northern Karnataka like Vijayapura. In these areas farmers highly depend on drip irrigation. Since there is a good amount of sunshine throughout the year disease incidence is a bit low compared to areas where moisture is high say like western maharashtra. As far as I have seen farmers use a lot of pesticides since they don't care much about export even then they make around 5 lakh/acre/year . If you consider the local market for grapes it's highly volatile. I've seen farmers giving grapes to village people when the rates have fallen too low.

Uncertainty is most prominent factor in farming. This pen and paper approach will not work. High interest rates, lack of proper knowledge/ training, no good initiatives from govt. are also responsible for pathetic condition of farners.
Their are many intermittent in supply chain and logistics which are indirectly eating the real money of farmers because of lack of knowledge in farmers In our region the agriculture traders have lot of money and luxurious lifestyle and farmers can't afford the minimum basic regular needs 😢

FACT : Only a few people can make farming efficient. Also people who are successful in farming are also selling their own crop by making products. Otherwise, the world wide truth is farming can't be profitable and all over the world farming is subsidised by the government. The government keeps farming alive just in case there is war, The country needs to produce its own food.
Thanks to think school for uploading this video's. It throws open lot of true information and irrelevant myth people have about agriculture. Hats off kudos.
"As an agriculture graduate, I have been passionate about farming, particularly vegetable cultivation, and have been considering starting my own venture in this field since I graduated a year ago. Currently, I am not employed, but I am not seeking a job either. Instead, I am focused on building something of my own-a business that aligns with my interests and academic background. This video has been incredibly informative and inspiring for me, providing valuable insights and guidance that will help me take my first steps into farming and agribusiness. However, as I’m just starting, I am currently lacking the initial funds needed to get everything off the ground. If anyone has suggestions for low-cost methods, small-scale setups, or potential funding options to help new farmers like me get started, I would greatly appreciate the advice. Any tips or resources would be a big help!"
Hi @ThinkSchool, an awesome informative podcast about agriculture in India. The different interpretation of app symbols between urban and rural India was very interesting. Whenever, you have the next agricultural podcast or video, please ask the guests about the now repealed three farm laws, how would they have enhanced agricultural GDP and increased farm output and incomes if they were implemented. Thanks, Arun
I really love the podcasts but the signature style of think school is research and videos on geopolitical issues linked with economics .please do those videos as well that will help u keep the number of viewers with you and help all those preparing for upsc and other Ssb exams . Thanks
@Sai Gole - at 16:39 you said crop rotation is required. My question to you is - are you sure grape cultivation (or wine yards) are rotated every 4th or 5th year and can be switched to Pomegranate?
No taxes on farming is very complex thing, some exploit it some need it. Those who can exploit it earn very big from it. Bad for country's economy but cant do anything due to loopholes. Those who cannot exploit it are marginal, middle class or in debt trap. Some way should be there to tax in a good way farming as 80 cr people not taxed are getting benefits of 1.3Cr middle class people, middle upper class. People say India to be next China, China gets so many subsidies due to their policies, but here 30%tax on profit. Thats why people dont show full income declare losses. Negative income, at least above 15 lakh should be slashed to 25%. Over 10-15 Cr profit you may do that..
*Pls do a podcast with a ZBNF farmer... the new gen farmer... Andhra Pradesh is one of the first state in India to recognize the benefits of ZBNF farming* and is moving entirely towards ZBNF farming. *MSP should only be given to ZBNF farmers.* ... although this ThinkSchool video got just 200k compared to an average of 500k-700k... this type of content can really change India... and *provide employment and agricultural startups than go stand in line for a interview in hope of a 20,000k salary for a 12hr job in an IT company.* As future gets more and more AI driven and robots invade office space in the next 10yrs... Agriculture will be the biggest boon for the youth of India. *Else India will be the country to suffer the maximum unemployment of its largest pool of youth in the world* ... and joblessness could encourage youth to take up petty jobs as criminals, thief or terrorists. *Youth who are busy working for their family/company/nation are a blessing... jobless youth who stand around street corners and in farms are a crisis waiting to happen... they are easily swayed by cunning politicians and criminals.* So it is VERY MUCH NECESSARY for UA-camrs like you who have a big audience to encourage youths to understand that there is money in farming and SUVs can be bought by intelligent farmers too. .. Today it is very difficult to encourage youth of India to take up farming even though it is the most easy way to make money... as you can see that most farmers are dumb and would not survive even a single day in any office job but they do Extraordinarly Well in farming (if you consider the size of the house they live, the number of pets they own, the vehicle they drive and the social network they command). .. *The fact we forget to see is that a farmer who earns Rs 20,000 per months lives the lifestyle of a person who owns Rs 100,000 salary.* *Don't go by the farmers clothes... The city guy who earns Rs 100,000 salary lives in a below 1,000 sqft flat... while a farmer lives in a 3,000 sqft bunglow* ... even if its thached roof ... the ROOF and FLOOR is his own... huge difference... farmer eats the best freshest food ... city guy eats the worst food... Farmer gets unlimited water from well while the city guy has to get up at 7am to catch the 1,000ltr of water a day ration that he gets... The city guy has a cat or a dog as pet and will surely not be able to afford to keep a cow... but a farmer can easily afford it and has dogs, chickens, goats etc... The farmer can throw 2 solar panels above his roof and get free electricity while the city guy has to pay minimum Rs 2,000 every month for electricity... on the nights he uses the AC to sleep comfortable he has to pay more... ABOVE ALL The city guy travels almost 100kms DAILY to office (which by itself is a very stupid act)... and is heavily pressed for time... the farmer is not... has a lot of time.... HUGE DIFFERENCE considering all aspects.
I think for every village , Government should find out what crops they are growing and give machinery for that whole village and nearby villages. Government has to cut all subsidies and use money to fund machinery to villages
I am working in Karnataka. My agriculture land of ancestral property 6 acres is in Andhra Pradesh( Anantapur district), which has 2nd least rainfall in india after rajashthan. Even my father sold his 23 acres of fertile land 25 years back because cost of production was not matching. Only for few reasons. Main thing was water availability, if government provides water, then i want to choose agriculture as second income.
From the same district, I feel your father has done a great service to you by selling it as this would have helped your family finances get better which wouldn't have been achieved by holding the same land through out this 25 years. Also, if you could share, I am curious to know how that amount was utilized?
We need improved weather prediction, skilled & willful farm workers, qualified tools ( yes, you read it correct) , timely support from technicians like electricians, plumbers. Another big deal is, market.

I will suggest go directly to big customer such as big hotel I was manager in hotel where we were purchasing black pepper and white pepper from farmer he use to come every 3 month he was giving us 10 percent discount compare to our wholesalers
I have a questions : 1. The prediction of crops prices is vulnerable which affects the decision to sell the crops or store in warehouse/cold storage. I was wondering, Do you guys think, the MSP on crops which is been introduced before a showing season by CACP can be considered by farmers to predict their profit. BharatAgri could help in forecasting the cost of production and MSP could be considered to selling price?
@@Mr.TgunChill Make sense, the purpose of crop insurance is to safeguard farmers interest in natural calamities and pest. I am not sure, insurance can be considered as a price of crop
Being an agriculture student i can confirm farmers are not earning..it’s the politicians and businessmans who have hundreds of acres land and money to invest

The podcast is of good quality, but the structure of the questions and the clarity provided to the viewers, particularly those involved in farming or agriculture, could be improved compared to other podcasts. 🌱 While the discussion on crop selection and certain points is informative, 🌾 a more organized structure covering the entire process from land preparation to consumer delivery would greatly enhance the understanding of the viewers. 🧑🌾 This approach aligns with the principles of agricultural extension. 🚜 I offer this suggestion with the utmost respect for your well-established channel and its ongoing success. 🏆

Only a few people can make farming efficient. Also people who are successful in farming are also selling their own crop by making products.
Otherwise, the world wide truth is farming can't be profitable and all over the world farming is subsidised by the government.
The government keeps farming alive just in case there is war, The country needs to produce its own food.
This podcast is mainly focused on Maharashtra that too crops like strawberry and grape which yield more in that region kindly cover for UP also
Thanks to think school for uploading this video's.

Thank you Ganesh! 🙏🏼 happy married life. (Didnt know about it until now)
Hi @ThinkSchool, an awesome informative podcast about agriculture in India. The different interpretation of app symbols between urban and rural India was very interesting. Whenever, you have the next agricultural podcast or video, please ask the guests about the now repealed three farm laws, how would they have enhanced agricultural GDP and increased farm output and incomes if they were implemented. Thanks,
Arun
Thanks a lot for conversing in English In this show❤❤ it helps us alot to understand deeper
Can you please make this video in hindi language so that the farmers of my village can understand very clearly 🙏
The most important podcast ❤

@Sai Gole - at 16:39 you said crop rotation is required. My question to you is - are you sure grape cultivation (or wine yards) are rotated every 4th or 5th year and can be switched to Pomegranate?
It would be great if you released a Hindi version of this video, as it would help many farmers.
Eagerly waiting for organic farming podcast 😊
Amazing podcast wishing more podcast like this on farming as there are very less quality content podcast on farming
please do a podcast on organic farming
GREATEST CHANNEL
Hello siddarth ji are your services available for Telangana
I feel extremely proud to be from western maharashtra Aamhi kolhapuri❤
Thanks A lot for this video. it came at right time for me. I needed it as I am starting to do farming in couple of months.
*Pls do a podcast with a ZBNF farmer... the new gen farmer... Andhra Pradesh is one of the first state in India to recognize the benefits of ZBNF farming* and is moving entirely towards ZBNF farming. *MSP should only be given to ZBNF farmers.* ... although this ThinkSchool video got just 200k compared to an average of 500k-700k... this type of content can really change India... and *provide employment and agricultural startups than go stand in line for a interview in hope of a 20,000k salary for a 12hr job in an IT company.*
As future gets more and more AI driven and robots invade office space in the next 10yrs... Agriculture will be the biggest boon for the youth of India.
*Else India will be the country to suffer the maximum unemployment of its largest pool of youth in the world* ... and joblessness could encourage youth to take up petty jobs as criminals, thief or terrorists.
*Youth who are busy working for their family/company/nation are a blessing... jobless youth who stand around street corners and in farms are a crisis waiting to happen... they are easily swayed by cunning politicians and criminals.*
So it is VERY MUCH NECESSARY for UA-camrs like you who have a big audience to encourage youths to understand that there is money in farming and SUVs can be bought by intelligent farmers too. .. Today it is very difficult to encourage youth of India to take up farming even though it is the most easy way to make money... as you can see that most farmers are dumb and would not survive even a single day in any office job but they do Extraordinarly Well in farming (if you consider the size of the house they live, the number of pets they own, the vehicle they drive and the social network they command). ..
*The fact we forget to see is that a farmer who earns Rs 20,000 per months lives the lifestyle of a person who owns Rs 100,000 salary.*
*Don't go by the farmers clothes...
Very informative and everything was put down with so much clarity. Good to know how start-ups are also catering to the agricultural sector.
This is insightful and curious to watch more, so can you do more podcasts like this?
I think for every village , Government should find out what crops they are growing and give machinery for that whole village and nearby villages. Government has to cut all subsidies and use money to fund machinery to villages
Great you are creating content on all aspects 💫
Thanks!
😢 I know
From the same district, I feel your father has done a great service to you by selling it as this would have helped your family finances get better which wouldn't have been achieved by holding the same land through out this 25 years.
Also, if you could share, I am curious to know how that amount was utilized?
@niteshreddy3691 everything lost.....left with zero penny...
We need improved weather prediction, skilled & willful farm workers, qualified tools ( yes, you read it correct) , timely support from technicians like electricians, plumbers. Another big deal is, market.
Ganesh sir, this video should be in Hindi. It can really help small farmers and provide them with the right mindset.
This video is great, please try to make a detailed one for your Hindi channel. ❤
Excellent video! Very informative, thank you!
Very informative 👍
What should be the minimum size of land for economic feasibility?
I am concerned about marketing of the finished products more than the farming facilities
Please suggest me how to rich form agriculture. Price supply and demand details video
Kudos to both of you.
Can i get more information on sales. My dad grows organic black pepper and coffee in Karnataka.
I will suggest go directly to big customer such as big hotel I was manager in hotel where we were purchasing black pepper and white pepper from farmer he use to come every 3 month he was giving us 10 percent discount compare to our wholesalers
I have a questions :
Crop insurance is a better solution to this than msp
@@Mr.TgunChill Make sense, the purpose of crop insurance is to safeguard farmers interest in natural calamities and pest. I am not sure, insurance can be considered as a price of crop
Being an agriculture student i can confirm farmers are not earning..it’s the politicians and businessmans who have hundreds of acres land and money to invest

கோபாலபுரம் தாத்தா நம்ள ஏமாத்திட்டாரே😂😂😂
Agriculture is a complex problem to solve, i never got the whole picture this explains the sheet complexity.
Onion can be game changer for farmers if they can stored it properly and has high income
I have geniuine doubt. I looked up at the share values of bharat agri. After being listed in 2019, The company haven't earned profit. The balance sheet is in negative for the past 6 years. How can we be sure that what they are suggeting to be completely applicable for buisness. I am not a farmer, but I am asking as curious person, Don't pour hate on me for asking this question.
Dear Think School, Please make a video on how engineering or undergraduates can open a startup or a manufacturing business, and please throw some light on the students from core branches like Civil, Mechanical or Materials moving to IT Industry, please keep the college tier in mind while making the video.
It was a amazing podcast cum case study by Ganesh and guests. I am also a farmer and will surely use consultation of Bharat agri. 👏
Nice episode..... Jz to update very less farmers know English. So, while doing this type of episode communicate in hindi.
This was amazing !!
The podcast should be in hindi so that it can reach to the farmers and they can understand easily.
Thank you so much for the feedback! We will definitely consider incorporating more structure into the future episodes
Thank you so much, sir! I really appreciate your support. I never thought you'd reply, and I'm so glad we're getting into this content creation thing sooner. You're an inspiration to all of us newcomers. 🎉👏👍
Great content 😍, but summary timing could improve ⏰
The content is well-organized and informative. However, summarizing right after each topic can break the flow a bit. It might work better if these were saved for the end of the video. Just my opinion! Overall, great job, and thanks for the content!
hiii.....i really wanna watch your podcasts ,but I don't have such time...id definitely watch em if they are small like 20-25 mins...like you could release the podcast into 2-3 mini episodes.hoping you would do that
You can watch clips then 🫣
You should have asked the workings of traditional farming and new farming ways like hydroponics. also, the difference between them in terms of feasibility.
Please make a podcast on organic farming I want to do this on my land
wow Super insights i got today😊
Hi ThinK Shool Team,
I really like the questions asked in podcast as it was upto mark. Response from BHarat agri team was really easy to understand as they provided it with good examples
