GREAT! Well done. Well first of all, you need to get android studio and you need to download the Android Build package for the unity editor in unity hub, i recommend looking for a tutorial because i remember there were quite a few steps, good luck!

Darker maps could be cool and could highlight the lights on the robots.
Thats what i was thinking yea, i dont want it too dark though because well, i spend so much time working on assets i want somebody to see them hahaha. But i definitely think its the way to go, also its easier to direct the player to where they should go with lights in important areas rather than all over the place

Thanks so much!!!! Ive been super motivated lately and the hard work is really showing. I probably wont have time to make a tutorial level but ill just have probably one level in the demo that you can mess around in.
Not to add more to your plate but It would be cool if you programed it to keep the momentum on the body that you switch out of. Then you could jump towards a void and switch to another enemy and the body you switched from would fall in to the void or level trap. You get the idea. I guess you would have to grab the vector length and rotation before the switch and apply a launch character with that. I am new to Unreal dev so I don't know how that would work.
I already have that planned but for now my enemies are really badly made, so ill have to completely overhaul how they work. I always had this level in mind where there was a massive grinder like the ones you see in those satisfying youtube videos, and you werent given a weapon so you had to jump into the grinder and switch out last second to kill everyone.

The more variety in what you can go into the better i think, if its set in a factory surely thered be plenty of other bits of ondustrial equipement, assembly arms, cleaning robots, forklift etc. That can do different things but have drawbacks. Even if used as a last minute save yourself option it could be cool
Yea it would be so cool if you could turn into an assembly arm and just slap the enemies around or something haha
I know that pistols in games (like basic pistols) are really weak but I love how pistols feel, especially when they are a little underpowered. A game that pulls of the best pistols I have ever seen is definately shatterline, the game def didnt do it on purpose but the pistol is SUPER CRISP and whenever I play i only use the pistol as its more fun.
therefore a pistol would be very cool 👍
I have the exact same thing with games!! I always love using pistols, its something about how fast they are that makes me gravitate towards them. I also enjoy that they usually fire super fast and just feel more responsive than rifles or smgs, ive never played shatterline so ill definitely check it out soon :)

you said something about virus growing stronger? this instantly makes me thing of some sort of talent tree or progression to gradually make your guy stronger. perhaps more stats when omniswitching idk.

Yea its exactly what i was thinking for progression, a skill tree, but more suited to the theme of hacking/viruses, so maybe different folders in the server that your virus lives on that you can open or something

Grappling hooks!!!
Now I know what you’re thinking:
how will grappling hooks fit in with the plot?
Well, there should be a level where you are infiltrating a robot training facility and you can pick up the grappling hook there. That’d be epic
Ive also thought about grappling hooks a lot and i really like the concept, but with my main mechanic being omni-switch, you wouldnt be able to hold onto one object as you are always switching bodies, also i think that people would use the main mechanic less if there was a grapple option, but maybe i could make a specialised robot that maybe cant shoot, just grapple to balance things out, thank you!

One explanation for the advertisement would be, since the robots are Machine Learning based, the more they see the company ad which is actually a propaganda, they will have stay more loyal to it ?
Or you could make that a huge screen and thus the the company motto will be used as a logo, just for the sake of "professionalism"

So i know i didnt explain it very well, but you are in the real world, you are just a virus that can take control of real robots if you know what i mean?

The game looks amazing so far but the viewmodels really annoy me for a few reasons. Not only does it look uncomfortable, but it also obscures a wider part of the screen, and especially blocks out the middle a bit, which visibility is important for shooters cause you need to see where enemies are at and especially know whats below you. Both of these factors really make me question the real decision process behind this. Perhaps adding a few options for viewmodels could help, either allowing you to put it more to the side like a normal shooter or be able to hide it completely, both giving you much better vision imo. I appreciate your work though, and its really shaping up to be a cool indie title. Hopefully you put my suggestion into consideration, but you don't have to act upon it immediately. ;)
See ive been thinking for a while about the viewmodel, and i know its weird to people but i think its mostly because its new and it hasnt been done before, i want to keep it, i know its not for everyone but at least it makes my game more unique, ill probably adjust it futher down the line and i definitely see where youre coming from. Thanks for the feedback, its always great to hear what people think :)
Its already looking way better with the new models! But considering its based 100 years in the future or something I would think about changing the guns to like lasers or somrthing.

This looks amazingly cool. For the omniswitch animation, you maybe could grab the other robot and when you switch into that robot (idk, seemed cool)
Thanks so much!! I see where you are coming from but the problem is that youd have to be super close to omni-switch then, which is not ideal, ill think about something more physical, maybe you shoot a wire into the next robot or something

Maybe the virus is a spider robot and you have to get close to the robot to hack and control it or the spider shoots a wire at the robot and then controls it

You should add a settings menu where you can change you graphics and change the position of your gun. Also i hope you dont make the graphics thingy a lackluster low to high toggle, indepth settings are soo much better for changing graphics.
I dont even want to think about that haha, ive heard it take literal months for gamedevs to finish their settings menu, but ill definitely have to do it soon
it would be nice if beside robots there were humans, like instead of siple fps you can do some cqc movement and the humans around can like be launched or held as shield, if you lack a platform they can be used to jump.
I like the idea and if i had a bigger team i would definitely consider doing it, but i think since im working solo it would take me way too much time. Cool idea though thanks
If you add a menu and settings menu, add graphics settings (such as texture quality, model quality, shadow quality, drop-down menu for resolutions, v-sync...), add FOV slider, add FPS counter setting and add custom bindings.
Also add Gamemodes. The main one: story mode (with Easy, Medium, Hard, Hardcore, Nightmare difficulties) and the secondary one: Sandbox (just like mniecraft creative; you will be able to choose a map to load to and it will have openabme menu for spawning stuff)

I really like the idea but im working on this game on my own and level editors are nutorious for being really time consuming and difficult to make
I love the idea of long range movement shooters, but besides the sniper you promised ina earlier video I don’t think you have a ranged weapon, though idk if that matters with the main mechanic
First of all, thank you for watching another video from my channel i really appreciate it :) I was thinking the sniper would have no scope on it, and no ADS, so you would effectively use it as a long range shotgun, because the last thing i want in my game is players to hardscope at the back of the map and kill all the enemies from there.
since the point of the game is the omniswitch (was that the name), why not add more machine which you can point and possess (stationary i mean, just for fun interaction, like to grasp and two robots), then you get out into a smaller and weaker drone and need to possess another robot.
I really like that, i was thinking that in the factory area you could take over the machines they use to build robots and fight with them, and a drone would be awesome too. Thank you for the suggestion :)
also for reload animations it would probably feel cooler if instead of a normal reload the character spins the gun, especially for the shotgun and revolver

if u take out antivirus u should get more time in the body except of unlimited. it will keep the game pacing.
I actually had a friend tell me the same thing today and i completely agree. I was just thinking how stupid it would be to add a button that just removes the main mechanic from the game, so your idea is 100% the way to go :)

I don't know if this would be a good idea or if it fits what you were going for but maybe there could be a gun where you shoot a usb containing the virus into other robots and machinery for a set amount of time.
Maybe not a gun, just because i dont know how id explain every robot carrying one of those. But it could be a skill that you can unlock later through the game

I think youre onto something with the tours, because i dont think there would be people monitoring cameras in 100 years, the cameras would probably be smart enough to do that on their own. Ill definitely keep this in mind :)
You need a sound effect for the omniswitch, and maybe some glitch overlay on the sides of the screen. Also, how did you make the muzzle flashes? I'm making an fps in unity right now and I have been trying to figure that out.
You read my mind. In my newest devlog did did exactly that haha. I didnt make the muzzle flash btw its just a png i fiund but i replaced that aswell now. If you need help implementing i can tell you how i did it

Yea.. sorry i was just away spending loads of money(rich person stuff). I really like that idea for the camera hahha, just have some ridiculous frame rate like 2600fps or something in the corner, 32K, ill also have an option to return to your previous body if you cant find any other ones. Ill definitely make the guns have something more scifi, just havent been sure on what to do because i dont want to go overboard, i love the way titanfall 2s guns dont seem very scifi, just very modern.

You should look at superhot mind control delete it also has the switch bodies mechanic and ghostrunner because its futuristic and has movement loll. Also i think some guns kinda get too close to your face when moving
Well.... uhhhh.. this is awkward. I thought i came up with this mechanic first because ive never played mind control delete before. Hopefully it wont be too similar haha. I think ghostrunner has too much movement, which wouldnt suit my game very well. Thanks for the suggestions haha

Interestingly no, i havent even played ghost runner, which i know is weird but i just never wanted to spend money on it and now ive kinda just forgotten to try it, ill keep my eye on it incase it goes on sale.

Alright first thing, congrats on 1k subs!
Second thing, the design of the robot is fine, but the proportions are completely out of wack. I recommend making the legs as beefy as the torso and head, shrink the head a bit (or make the rest of the body a bit thicker), and make the arms larger (and try to give them shoulders to attach the blue shoulder joints to) but I think if the legs fit with the torso and the head is shrunk, then proportion-wise It'll start to look better. I think you need to make somewhat of a glowing spine to the robots too that will fit the design of the arms?
Third of all thank you for making the flash not flashbang, that was very considerate
the design is looking pretty cool, I think the rails being yellow and black everywhere you go is a little harsh, but its a large step forward. I like all your level ideas! I think the one where you sneak around the office is really great, and I think it would be funny if you could overhear conversations the robots have or something. It would be funny if you could steal a shirt and tie and have a little sequence where you pretend to work there to get from one place to another? I know all that gameplay stuff will come much later but, you know, cool to think about.

cameras, I love it. I think I'd be an interesting way to be able to move across the map if you have to keep swapping cameras as a movement mechanic?
I love everything that youre doing, and how different you want this to be compared to other shooters. I really love the work put into these dev logs and I cannot wait for the playtest

Ive SOOOOO much work to do on the map, tbh, i threw this together because i panicked when i realised i wont have much to show for this devlog, so while the assets will stay, and i will make many more, expect to see some more huge changes on the map for the next devlog, definitely by the playtest.
I want you to be able to turn into machine gun turrets, maybe drones that cant shoot, but maybe drop bombs etc. Im super excited for all these to be in the game.
Thanks so much, im really trying my best to not stick to all the preconcieved ideas of an FPS game because i see so many indie devs just trying to copy COD or Battlefield, and i just dont think those games have much of a chance to stand out from the crowd.

One thing I recommend is overhaul the GUI like it would be awesome since your going for futuristic esk type thing I recommend taking inspiration from cyberpunk plus if you do the GUI it will just perfectly piece the game together
I also recommend adding a sliding mechanic and also a button to flip your gun from sideways to normal
Yea i agree the HUD is super weak, which makes sense, i havent touched it in probably a month so ill actually start working on it within the next few days hopefully, i love cyperpunks UI i a lot so ill definitely give it another loook
I already have sliding, its just not sure useful and you cant really tell its happening so ill have to work on that, as for the arms i think im keeping them like this, or very similar because its more unique and honestly i just really like it
they enemies have lungs for faces so it make sense to make them smoke

U said in video that "You want to make a very fast pace game", but don't u think that 2 shots from shotgun at point-blank range is too much? I mean ttk is too big (Or long? Dunno, don't care). Also i think that you need to create some high-tech weapons (Cause ur game is happening in future lol) like laser pistol that will have more effective range and accuracy but lower damage than modern guns or plasma pistol that will have slow projectiles and loading time but high damage and/or radius.
Yeah, about distance: how about adding effective ranges for different weapons based on their type, barrel length, etc? This will stimulate players to parkour all over the map to get closer to an enemy, something like "Ghostrunner". And melee weapons can be a tool to vary gameplay too
Anyway, already added game in a wishlist, looks really interesting. Good luck, mate (Sorry for mistakes, english is not my native language)
But melee weapons have to be balanced, maybe something like automatically (Or kill-) charging energy swords that will oneshot usual mob while in charged , but two- or threeshot in uncharged variant
Hey thank you so much!! First of all your english is amazing i didnt notice anything :) i definitely have lots of balancing to do, i do cheat a little and i only show when my game actually works, so theres lots for me to change behind the scenes.
Im not sure about futuristic guns, i really like how titanfall 2 did its guns, even though they are from the future they are still very realistic, i kinda want to avoid the stereotypical laser guns of scifi. Im also going for more simple gunplay, as thats not where the focus is, its on the omni-switch. But ill definitely be balancing and changing things as time goes on.
I want the parkour to be smooth and feel good but i think ghostrunners and games like ultrakills movement wouldnt really suit the game i have in mind, hopefully i can have you guys better understand when i do playtests.

Well, in short, im supporting your anti-cliche politic, it was just a suggestion about futuristic guns in futuristic setting (CZ-75 and mp9 are a bit odd and out-of-setting imho. But classic in the shape of double barrel shotgun and revolver is a must have lol), we have pretty futuristic guns in real life like P90 or Calico M960 (Or M950, its so cute oh my god) even if these guys are pretty obvious choices, you got the point
Somewhere here i realized about why you don't want to peek at ghostrunner (And utube decided that my comment has no right to exist). In this game how to get closer to an enemy was an entire task and a big part of gameplay. Oh, btw, do you know about "Turbo Overkill"? I think you can look at it's weapons' design, futuristic but not too much

I dont have plans to remodel them, maybe re-texture some for later levels where they have better technology, i dont like the cliche "laser gun" from scifi so ive really tried to stay away from that. I love the look of titanfall 2s guns, its the perfect mix between scifi and realism, maybe ill add some scifi acessories to my guns. I love how Get to the orange door looks, but thats part of the art style and it would look very weird in my game

So this might be a little disappointing to you, but i used substance painter, you have to pay for it, but if you want to try it, there is a month free trial. I modeled the door in blender BTW

New enemy idea, tank guy thing it's just a normal enemy with a shield so you can't switch to it without breaking it and it also has a big gun
I really like that idea, or maybe their antivirus is so strong you need to shoot it out before turning into them? I was thinking a turret with a minigun would be cool, but it cant move so you are an easy target

I think that would be a bit overpowered, maybe for a bossfight or something? But i dont see it working very well for the moment to moment gameplay
A great amount of progress! The editing looks way better now too. Even if the subway surfers part was mainly for retention and advertising and gradually annoyed me. Though for the security cameras, something just feels off about how it looks exactly the same as in the robots eyes. I think giving the security cameras very little grain can help it look better. For the robots, I like how they look, but something feels off about them. Either because it looks too medieval or because there's nothing implying on how the robot can "see". Maybe add something to show how they can see. For the lore, it's really cool, and it could be a cool idea if the "smart person" could just be you, because you created the idea. For the current factory level you showed, something feels off about it. Mainly because of the lack of some textures and walls, but from my eyes there's less going on than with the other factory, mainly because its supposed to be a little older and run down, but it just doesn't feel right. For the Omnitronics logo, I really love how it looks but for when its showcased in the levels maybe it could be animated and have a ' for the "won't". For the particles after omni-switching, they just feel a bit unnecessary, I would recommend removing them. But this video also gave me a few ideas:
1: add windows in a few levels to signify that there's a world out of the factory and that the outside is not just a generic unity skybox. Could be a perfect place for a WebBound easter egg.
2: add a cafeteria level with generic futuristic cafeteria food and "food" for the robots, mainly charging stations, oil, et cetera for keeping the robots in good condition. And putting the robot food in other levels for emergency use can be a good idea. Maybe you can even model and texture a stuffed pretzel crust cheese sauce pizza from Little Caesars for the cafeteria.
3: add some sort of human-like organisms to show that people run the place not entirely the robots.
4: add places where the robot could be or come from to signify why the factory is full of robots on their own.

And also, a idea relating to your game advertising in general, but I find it weird that you aren't advertising any of your other games in the description or videos. It would be a good idea to give the games a little more recognition, even if WebBound only has 50+ downloads.
Thank you! I tried to take on some of the feeback you gave me on my editing and i basically completely removed all the text which actually made the editing take so much less time, and from what i can see, the retention is actually better somehow?????
I think either grain or just loads of camera-like UI would do the trick.
For the robots i actually tried to add an eye in the crevice but it just didnt look right, i know the proportions of the enemy seem to be a little off so i think ill do a minor redesign on the enemy a little later on.
I have a story thing prepared for the "smart person" at the start of the game so ill probably voice him myself, also saves money on a voice actor haha.
I actually threw the factory together last second becuase i didnt think there was enough content here for a devlog so ill be changing it a LOT in the coming weeks, wouldnt even be surprised if i completelty remade it.
I also think the particles are not great so ill play around with some other ideas.

@@Wishbone_Games Your welcome! I did forget to say that I actually had better retention with the lesser editing. For the robots, what if the "eyes" weren't in the middle? Because this company wants to make humanoid robots, the "eyes" should be where average human eyes should be. For the factory, it's not a good idea to drastically change something last second just for more screen time or things to show. Including if it's rushed. And I don't really like the virus remover gimmick. Because you can just go forever without omni-switching. Which in return doesn't go with your philosophy with the game. But I also have a few more ideas:
1: when you enter a security camera, it would be a good idea if you can see the robot you left the body out of. And then when you leave the security camera you will go back into the robot.
2: It would be a cool idea if the organisms get added. Andd if this game take's place in a working day for the organisms then while you're in levels the organisms may be in they can fight back while you attack them. In a generic non-violent way though.
3: if you destroy a robot, it would be a good idea if the robot parts of the robots break and fall apart.
4: if you use the explode gimmick, it would be a good idea if the robot parts would fly off when they explode.

when you make the office level i would recommend adding a lot of camaras to get past all the enemies. Another thing you could do in the office level would be to make the player able to switch to a robot office worker to not be spooted by the other robots. You should then be able to switch to another camara and then to another robot to get through the level.
I was thinking a very similar thing aswell, i think thats the way to go, i cant wait to start on the office area i think it will be really unique for an FPS game
This game actually looks amazing, it truly goes to show how much effort you have put into it in the past 2 months. I am definitely going to wishlist it as soon as I get the chance. I really like the story plot and I think it is great for the bases of the game. Congrats on 1K and I really hope to eventually see the game completed 👍

Maybe have the enviroment look somewhat like portal 2. You did already make it so that it's very open.
Ive actually been taking a lot of inspiration from titanfall 2s factory level, i really love the vibe, portal 2 has a really cool aesthetic too which ill definitely take a look at
