Okay, this is probably the greatest "No BS" video I've ever seen. Straight to the point and very concise, awesome job!! I haven’t tried it before, but I’m pretty sure if you put your SD card in your computer you should see your save file next to your game in the folder. You may be able to view more options on your list by going into RetroArch settings/user interface/menu item visibility and enabling 'show core downloader' and trying that. You should be able to see core options/manage cores in settings as well. If you're having issues you can try installing muOS on a new SD card I uploaded a complete guide yesterday for the SP, but it uses the same file for different RG35XX devices. I want to use the right analog stick for my camera movement while the left analog stick is for character movement, but i don't know how to do this. Please help
If you're in a game, go into the RetroArch menus to change your controls. I gave some quick examples of changing your controls in RetroArch towards the end of my 'muOS full guide' video (the video is about 30 minutes long for so) I would focus on your character movement first. For example, if your character movement is set up with the D-pad directions by default, then change it to your left stick (up, down, left, right) Then using the same logic, set your right stick for the camera movements up, down, left, right somewhere else on the list of controls. It just depends where the camera controls are on the list of options The camera movement may take some trial and error, but if the game supports it, you should be able to set it in the RetroArch menus. It's not the most user-friendly experience, but check out my guide on changing buttons, and you can do the same thing with the sticks

Ugh. Just got MM+ now I’m having second thoughts after seeing this video. Which one do you prefer? The MM plus is great esp with Onion. The form factor of the H is appealing to me. Which one would you choose? #FirstWorldProblems.
I have a MM+ review video and I discovered that I personally have an issue where my thumb covers the speaker on the corner a lot. So if I chose a vertical form factor, I’d choose the RG35XX Plus. So this horizontal version is perfect for me because it has added joysticks for some of the 3D games it can play, as well as arcade games
Once you’re on the blank screen you can try a couple things: -Hit the ‘reset’ button next to the power button -If you shine a flashlight at the screen on a sharp angle, you may actually be able to see the menu. Go to settings and turn up the brightness -Install new custom firmware from the community on a new reliable SD card. Your old SD card’s files should still be accessible using a computer -Get it exchanged from where you purchased it from, as it should be working without glitches. Those default SD cards are not very reliable
Yep you can connect multiple controllers and set them up in RetroArch. When you’re on the main menu go into ‘RA Game’ so the games start up using RetroArch
I just got mine yesterday and I’ve charged it and tried everything but it won’t turn on the green indicator light won’t show but the only thing it does is show the charging indicator
Try charging it using a computer USB port. Regular charging blocks for phones may be too powerful and not charge it correctly. Hold on the power button for a few seconds after you charge it for awhile. Also try hitting reset in case it's on some kind of black screen if power does not work
I find it a lot more comfortable. The RGB30 felt like a brick to me and the edges dug into my hands. This one is a lot more ergonomic. All the buttons are great. The dpad on the RG35XX models is good and works fine but feels a little squishy when you play games like Pac-Man, Contra etc
Waiting on this to come in the mail. I've been waiting for this handheld for quite awhile. Dont get me wrong I wanted a metallic RG305/405/505 but the price is just too high. This is perfect.
I really love this handheld for the budget range. I think you’re really going to enjoy this, especially if you put community software on it with a new reliable micro SD card. If you decide to stick with the original card and software, at least backup the files somewhere so you have them. Let me know what you think of it 👌🏻
It’s a little laggy sometimes, but playable. I’m going to try custom firmware in the coming weeks and see if the performance improves at all for Vice City Stories and Tony Hawk Pro Skater for N64 etc. and see what settings improve them as well. Thanks I’m glad you enjoyed it!
I never used mine, but that is pretty common. They’re pretty generic protectors just to protect the main area of the screen. You could you a different modified one if you wanted, or get a protective case
Yeah 35xx was like that too. 405m had a screen protector that actually fit so I did put that on but the 35xx and 35xxh just have to go without. Think they just have a lot of these 3.5" protectors that don't quite fit they want to get rid of...
It's threw their shops, new buyers get 50% off plus if ambernic is running a sale that makes it cheaper. The shops rotate between ambernic, kitty and miyoo with sales
What you get might be different than mine. You get a ton of games, but you may not have some first party games like Mario as the SD cards are avoiding getting in trouble with Nintendo now. I’d recommend getting the biggest SD card option for the most games
I have sound on tv. The Bluetooth controllers can be set to player one in the RetroArch Quick Menu. You can change which port player 2 is. So for example, I can set player 2 Bluetooth controller as ‘Port 1’ and player 1 controller as ‘port 2’ so you can use Bluetooth as player 1
I need a little bit of help, I have actually switched to garlic os but when the game starts, my buttons don't work at all, except reset and power button. I will be really greatful if you can guide me here. When I try to power off by holding the power button, it doesn't power off but instead restarts automatically. I'm kinda worried here
If your buttons work on the menus, maybe Retroarch didn't assign your gaming buttons? Maybe try reinstalling it again. If you don't have any luck with Garlic and you don't mind losing the Bluetooth feature, I would suggest watching my full muOS guide (its actually the 'Refried Beans' version of muOS) then update that version later. I have a short update guide video to the new 'Refried Beans' that came out in July, which is super quick to update. It works really well... just make sure you select 'RG35XX H' when you install it
@@Raiden-o7g it sounds like something was corrupted during the install definitely. A new SD card (not the black one that came with it) is the best way to go. Just format it and start over. If that and muOS don't work, it might be worth getting a refund or exchange
If you're using your original black SD card, it might be corrupted. You could try pressing 'reset' when it's flashing like that. You can also let the battery die while its on. Try taking out the card, then turn it on & off, then put the card in and turn it on again. You should see if you can access the files on your card using a computer and save them so you don't lose them. After that, use a new reliable micro SD, such as a Sandisk, and either download their updated software on their website and install it. Or download and install muOS (but Bluetooth will not work) I showed how to install updated software from their website in my 'RG35XX SP' review.. I also made a video about installing muOS if you'd prefer that software. It's a similar process for your RG35XX H
Newfoundland, Canada. There is over a 500 year history here with Irish/British and other accents. Many people from here sound very Irish. Glad you enjoyed the video 👌🏻🦇
I uploaded a complete guide yesterday for installing muOS for the SP, but it uses the same file for different RG35XX devices. muOS does have Pico 8 and mine is working I've never downloaded any Saturn games for it, but I believe other UA-cam channels have tried it out. I think TechDweeb did
You should check out RetroArch menu settings such as frameskip and over clocking. Reddit is a good place for resources about gameplay performance within RetroArch
It may not be a possibility. I would suggest putting custom firmware on it using a brand new SD card that is more reliable using your computer. Access your old SD card using your computer for any files needed
Why my RG35XX H cant do a short cut save and load with NDS emulator, but the other emulator can. Aswell as the toggle speed, I am using right analog and turn left instead, anyone please help
Most of the emulators are actually using 'RetroArch cores' so RetroArch offers those shortcuts. The NDS emulator is a standalone software, so it offers only what is inside the emulator itself. It's not using RetroArch. So when you have a game open just go into the menu settings and see what it offers. The NDS emulator should have shortcuts available
@@batpixel thanks for the response! So I changed the inputs, but it still seemed to be the old ones, is there something I have to do to finalize the changes
@@jslic13I don’t have access to mine at the moment, but when you make changes in Retroarch you can usually save your changes in the menus. I have a video about mapping a 6 button SEGA Genesis controller in RetroArch where I save everything everywhere lol that might help you out in the mean time
You could try both plugged & unplugged. When you're on the loading screen press the restart button. Try starting it without the card in it. Then with the card. But the black SD card that came with it could be broken, so you could try my muOS guide on a new Sandisk card. Or check if you can download the stock software from the Anbernic website for the H (Just follow their guide, I use Rufus to install software on new cards) Just make sure to select RG35XX H when installing the muOS 'Refried Beans' version if you try my full guide on that. Then update to 'Baked Beans' which only takes a few minutes to update. I made 2 videos about those. Baked Beans might have a version you can install directly, but they suggested starting with Refried and doing the quick update. The only thing you'll lose with muOS is Bluetooth capability. You may be able to get yours changed for a new one if you just bought it
Hey I’ve been playing the pokemon emerald and I can’t figure out how to use the cheats on them. It’s very possible that I’m just stupid and doing it completely wrong but I’ve been trying to the cheat that gives me exp and it says to press R + A whilst the exp gained is displayed. I’ve tried using both right bumpers and and A at the same time and can’t get it. I’ve also tried the restart button too but that just restarts the system. Ik this is very specific but on the off chance you could me it would be much appreciated
Okay 3 things: First if all, you’re not stupid lol secondly, I have been hearing that people have been having issues with Pokemon emulation across different handhelds, so it may just be the way RetroArch is running the Pokemon games and needs an update. Third thing, I would highly suggest posting this comment on Reddit in a Pokemon/gaming emulation group and see if anyone else has found a solution to this. Reddit is a very good resource for this kind of stuff too
I would suggest trying the shortcut Menu+Dpad left/right to choose a save state to load from, for example Save State 1. Then press the shortcut Menu+R1 to save the state… then make sure you’re loading State 1 with Menu+L1 If that whole process isn’t working, on the main menu of the system, are you going into ‘RA Game’ to start up your games? That will ensure you’re using RetroArch for most of the systems If that don’t work, try using a standalone emulator from the first option in the main menu, instead of RA Game
I juat got my RG35XX H yesterday and sometimes when i boot up the system or game it will go to a blackscreen any way of fixing this problem ? Thank you for your time 🙏🏽
change the core with y button on the rom, if you are using PSX the Swanstation core is the best or download another ROM, i have problems with the US version of Silent Hill 1 and play the PAL Europe Version of that rom, with some configurations made by me on some points the videos of the game dont works and stuck on a black screen, that problem i resolver by disablle widescrenen hacks and PGXP improvements, and enable afther that events.
Another option besides the cores & ROM files is to change the software. So you could pick up a new reliable SD card and download muOS, just make sure to backup your files from your old card first. I made a video about installing muOS yesterday for the SP and it uses the same file to install for any RG35XX devices. But you will lose the Bluetooth function, and it's not reccomended to use with HDMI out at the moment until an update comes out to fix the audio bugs
Did you open your games under the ‘RA Game’ folder? They may have released different software on the SD card for these. You can also put custom firmware on these using a new SD card from the community
@@batpixeli was playing pokemon with the ra folder and it was working fine but now when ever i open up with the ra folder i cant even interact with the game and the menu is in chinese, so i can play pokemon but without fast forward witch is pretty annoying bc i was abt to b4 it started popping up with chinese text at the bottom
I haven’t tested it but I’ve heard you’ll get around 3-4 hours. There may be some reviews posted that test the battery specifically. It also depends on factors like the screen brightness and what games you’re emulating etc, so it’s variable that way obviously
Try in an area with no other Bluetooth or wireless devices. It may be possible that your Bluetooth controller will not work with it. I used an Xbox One controller and a Retro Fighters Brawler N64 controller. Also in the RetroArch Quick Menu try setting controller 1 input to ‘port 2’ and then controller 2 input to ‘port 1’ so you can use your Bluetooth controller for port 1 (player 1)
RetroArch supports net play. There is a great video about it by Retro Game Corps and Reddit is a good place to read about it. A lot of people have been on a mission to get Pokemon working with net play, so definitely check out those resources
It likely has more features and better hardware than something that came out a couple years ago. I haven’t got my hands on the 351 though, but I’m sure there are very detailed videos on it in comparison to this one
Great question. I’d personally choose the H because it’s smaller and more ergonomic which I enjoy. But there’s no denying the RGB30 has that beautiful square aspect ratio screen
You could try a new SD card and download an updated version of the software from the Anbernic website. Or use my full guide on installing muOS if you don't mind losing Bluetooth. muOS is awesome. Just backup your files from your black SD card so you have them. If none of that works then yeah exchange it
Everyone showing how to connect the plugs.. seriously, can't the people know how to plug the wires.. I was looking for a video that shows me how to connect it to TV and make it work by choosing the correct mode..
Ironically, to use HDMI, you do the exact same thing. Just plug it in. You don't have to select a mode. The port uses HDMI Mini, not a normal HDMI port
@santosh0535 your tv could be on the wrong HDMI. Try different ones? All I had to do was plug it in to HDMI #1 and it worked fine. Try doing it while you're in the main menu of the system. If that don't work, turn it off, unplug it, load into a game, then plug into HDMI. It's reccomended to exit a game before you unplug from HDMI, but I also shut it down before I unplug just in case
Haha cool! 😆 lots of different sounding accent areas here on the island. The accent is around 530 years old I think. Some people here sound very Irish and we definitely have lots of culture and ancestry from Ireland

Let me know what you think of it 👌🏻
How is Vice City Stories running? Your video is fantastic! This might replace my RG405M once I am done with it.
@@batpixel thank you for replying! I am subscribing to your channel and hope to see a new video with cfw perfomance for these platforms. Thanks again!
Awesome, welcome to the channel! 🦇
I heard it ran rough but mine seems fine? Def playable.
Did you use the included screen protector mine does even go to the edge of the glass cutting off like .5mm around it, is yours like that?
I never used mine, but that is pretty common. They’re pretty generic protectors just to protect the main area of the screen. You could you a different modified one if you wanted, or get a protective case
Yeah 35xx was like that too. 405m had a screen protector that actually fit so I did put that on but the 35xx and 35xxh just have to go without.
Think they just have a lot of these 3.5" protectors that don't quite fit they want to get rid of...
For some reason I can’t fast forward when I want too ???
So it only works sometimes? Maybe it’s a button issue, try changing the shortcut to another button in the RetroArch settings
am connected to a pc monitor but I get no sounds and the resolution is off,,please help!
There could be a number of reasons for the audio, but you could try an update. You can change video options in RetroArch menus
Finally found how to add the n64 thanks
Enjoy 🦇
Just ordered this for $30 with tax and shipping included
😮🤯
Where did you order it from?
How? From where did you order
@@abbathahzan I got mine on ti.k t.ok form ambernic direct
It's threw their shops, new buyers get 50% off plus if ambernic is running a sale that makes it cheaper. The shops rotate between ambernic, kitty and miyoo with sales
Are the preinstalled games as good as on the R36s? I don't want to customize it, just play
What you get might be different than mine. You get a ton of games, but you may not have some first party games like Mario as the SD cards are avoiding getting in trouble with Nintendo now. I’d recommend getting the biggest SD card option for the most games
I love it but the only problem ive had is it suddenly getting stuck on the startup screen after a few weeks of using it.
It may be worth installing custom firmware with a new reliable SD card, but if it’s only been a few weeks you may be able to get it replaced
Ive read that connecting it to tv through HDMI may have no sound, as well as bluetooth controllers always being pre set to player 2. Can you confirm?
I have sound on tv. The Bluetooth controllers can be set to player one in the RetroArch Quick Menu. You can change which port player 2 is. So for example, I can set player 2 Bluetooth controller as ‘Port 1’ and player 1 controller as ‘port 2’ so you can use Bluetooth as player 1
@@batpixel thanks for the quick response. I think I'm going to get one
Let me know how you like it 👌🏻
I need a little bit of help, I have actually switched to garlic os but when the game starts, my buttons don't work at all, except reset and power button.
It works really well... just make sure you select 'RG35XX H' when you install it
@@batpixel My buttons are not working in the menu, it's not even starting up and neither yellow nor orange battery colours are working.
@@Raiden-o7g it sounds like something was corrupted during the install definitely. A new SD card (not the black one that came with it) is the best way to go. Just format it and start over. If that and muOS don't work, it might be worth getting a refund or exchange
My device always flashing "exiting" when i turning on
If you're using your original black SD card, it might be corrupted.
You have a really interesting accent. Where are you from?
Awesome video btw. Super helpful.
Newfoundland, Canada. There is over a 500 year history here with Irish/British and other accents. Many people from here sound very Irish. Glad you enjoyed the video 👌🏻🦇
@@batpixel oh I was totally going to guess Irish Canadian!! My only frame only frame of reference is Letterkenny.
Hahaha that’s hilarious
How's Saturn on it? PD Saga decently playable? Edit: CFW? And if so does it have Pico 8? Edit: stock doesn't look bad but still worth asking.
I uploaded a complete guide yesterday for installing muOS for the SP, but it uses the same file for different RG35XX devices. muOS does have Pico 8 and mine is working
I've never downloaded any Saturn games for it, but I believe other UA-cam channels have tried it out. I think TechDweeb did
Have you tried any Monster Hunter game that it can play? I'm thinking of getting this just to play them.
I have not! There are videos of people playing the PSP version on the 35XX
I still can’t figure out if I am able to increase the gamplay speed could you help with that
You should check out RetroArch menu settings such as frameskip and over clocking. Reddit is a good place for resources about gameplay performance within RetroArch
I need help when I enter a Dreamcast I added it returns me to the anbernic menu if you have the solution please help
It’s possible you may need a bios file. Search Reddit for Dreamcast emulators
Bro! How do u update the firmware with internet connection? I already connected to wifi but can’t find the upgrade option
It may not be a possibility. I would suggest putting custom firmware on it using a brand new SD card that is more reliable using your computer. Access your old SD card using your computer for any files needed
@@batpixel ohh I see, and which custom firmware are you using or recommend? Thx mate
@@Zerck Koriki has been getting good reviews. But it may affect Dreamcast performance. There are a few out there
Why my RG35XX H cant do a short cut save and load with NDS emulator, but the other emulator can.
Hey, I have the same device but the only shortcut that works for me is the brightness one, do you know how to fix that?
In the RetroArch settings menu you can find hot keys that are set up and customize your own
@@batpixel thanks for the response! So I changed the inputs, but it still seemed to be the old ones, is there something I have to do to finalize the changes
@@jslic13I don’t have access to mine at the moment, but when you make changes in Retroarch you can usually save your changes in the menus. I have a video about mapping a 6 button SEGA Genesis controller in RetroArch where I save everything everywhere lol that might help you out in the mean time
@@batpixel okay will try that out, thanks!
Just got mine charged it and it won’t start just on the loading screen
Reddit is a very good resource for this kind of stuff too
@@batpixel sweet thanks
@@maxeikamp5315let me know if you get it figured out 😄
question:
will there be any problems if i try and download new games (n64, psp, gba, etc.) on the stock 64gb and 128gb sd cards?
I put my own games on mine and it was fine, but keep in mind these stock cards are cheap and not reliable
Any other way to get the n64 to show up I’m waiting for my card reader
It won’t show up without any games in the folder. There are no N64 games on the card you receive
I just one can for some reason I can’t save any of the Pokemon games I’m playing … it just take me back to the beginning
I would suggest trying the shortcut Menu+Dpad left/right to choose a save state to load from, for example Save State 1. Then press the shortcut Menu+R1 to save the state… then make sure you’re loading State 1 with Menu+L1
If that whole process isn’t working, on the main menu of the system, are you going into ‘RA Game’ to start up your games? That will ensure you’re using RetroArch for most of the systems
If that don’t work, try using a standalone emulator from the first option in the main menu, instead of RA Game
I juat got my RG35XX H yesterday and sometimes when i boot up the system or game it will go to a blackscreen any way of fixing this problem ? Thank you for your time 🙏🏽
change the core with y button on the rom, if you are using PSX the Swanstation core is the best
or download another ROM, i have problems with the US version of Silent Hill 1 and play the PAL Europe Version of that rom, with some configurations made by me on some points the videos of the game dont works and stuck on a black screen, that problem i resolver by disablle widescrenen hacks and PGXP improvements, and enable afther that events.
Great advice thank you 🙌
Tried using x2 for Pokemon GBA but it does not work
Oh that's weird, are you opening it in RetroArch under the 'RA Game' folder on the main menu?
Ok what are the buttons for screenshot????
Menu + B
@@batpixel whats the menu button???

Hi, is this custom firmware or the one that comes with it
Came with it 👌🏻
My menu is completely different. I can’t do all the fast forwarding or any of that
Did you open your games under the ‘RA Game’ folder? They may have released different software on the SD card for these. You can also put custom firmware on these using a new SD card from the community
@@batpixeli was playing pokemon with the ra folder and it was working fine but now when ever i open up with the ra folder i cant even interact with the game and the menu is in chinese, so i can play pokemon but without fast forward witch is pretty annoying bc i was abt to b4 it started popping up with chinese text at the bottom
@cheddarking8425 replace your pokemon file with a new one. The pokemon game files that ship on these cards are garbage
@@batpixel and i do that by just connecting to pc right? i might actually just get my brother in law to do it thanks for the help 🙏
What is the battery life on this?
I haven’t tested it but I’ve heard you’ll get around 3-4 hours. There may be some reviews posted that test the battery specifically. It also depends on factors like the screen brightness and what games you’re emulating etc, so it’s variable that way obviously
I can't get it to Bluetooth my controller
Try in an area with no other Bluetooth or wireless devices. It may be possible that your Bluetooth controller will not work with it. I used an Xbox One controller and a Retro Fighters Brawler N64 controller. Also in the RetroArch Quick Menu try setting controller 1 input to ‘port 2’ and then controller 2 input to ‘port 1’ so you can use your Bluetooth controller for port 1 (player 1)
I see that it have a ps emulator, so I can I get or where can I get ps games?
I am not allowed to share where to get games haha but it does have a good ps emulator
does it support netplay
RetroArch supports net play. There is a great video about it by Retro Game Corps and Reddit is a good place to read about it. A lot of people have been on a mission to get Pokemon working with net play, so definitely check out those resources
I just bought 3 none work lol how do you say qc in mandarin
Where did you buy them from? That's not normal lol you could try installing muOS on new SD cards if you can't return them
@batpixel the new SD cards worked

Is it better than the rg351?
It likely has more features and better hardware than something that came out a couple years ago. I haven’t got my hands on the 351 though, but I’m sure there are very detailed videos on it in comparison to this one
Can it play 3ds games?
It’s suited for original DS games, and won’t play 100% of them. These have limited capability after the systems I mentioned
Love your Canadian accent!
Thank you 😃
I need help on how to get cheats and add souls silver and emerald! Please help
That's beyond what I am allowed to share on UA-cam 😅
Rgb30 or this?
I wanna play nintendo ds games like pokemon diamond and mario kart
I'd prefer the H myself, but both are very awesome. The RGB30 may have slightly better performance. I just prefer the form factor
This or RGB30?
Great question. I’d personally choose the H because it’s smaller and more ergonomic which I enjoy. But there’s no denying the RGB30 has that beautiful square aspect ratio screen
Oh I gotta try rice with n64 games on mine, it's been laggy
Definitely try rice with it. Not every N64 game will run smoothly though. You can try frame skip etc. to help it
@@batpixelyeah I tried it and not much different. Pretty bad for Kirby 64. I’ll try frame skipping
Where is your accent from. It sounds evenly split between american and irish
Pretty much it! I'm from Newfoundland, Canada. It's an island of only 500,000 people but a big land mass. Lots of history with Ireland
@@batpixel That's really cool, thanks for answering.
No prob and welcome to the channel 😃
Maybe I literally have a lemon cause mine won’t play jack shit. I have to use Batocera with Rice for any n64 games to run for instance.
You could try a new SD card and download an updated version of the software from the Anbernic website. Or use my full guide on installing muOS if you don't mind losing Bluetooth. muOS is awesome. Just backup your files from your black SD card so you have them. If none of that works then yeah exchange it
Fast Foward dosen't work in ps1 and ds games
Yeah that's a RetroArch feature, so some emulators won't have it

You could port it if you own it
Everyone showing how to connect the plugs.. seriously, can't the people know how to plug the wires..
I was looking for a video that shows me how to connect it to TV and make it work by choosing the correct mode..
Ironically, to use HDMI, you do the exact same thing. Just plug it in. You don't have to select a mode. The port uses HDMI Mini, not a normal HDMI port
@@batpixel thanks.. nothing is loading.. do we need to select any setting using TV remote or with joystick??
@santosh0535 your tv could be on the wrong HDMI. Try different ones? All I had to do was plug it in to HDMI #1 and it worked fine. Try doing it while you're in the main menu of the system. If that don't work, turn it off, unplug it, load into a game, then plug into HDMI. It's reccomended to exit a game before you unplug from HDMI, but I also shut it down before I unplug just in case
