- The RG35XX H is clearly the hand hold console to get if you are looking to get into retro gaming scene. Here is what I've thought after playing it so much I ran out of time to make the video last week.

Mine came this morning. Easily my favorite purchase of 2024 so far
Just got my H last week, and I'm loving this little thing. I've got some pretty big mitts though, and I agree about the analog sticks. I'm really hoping people start selling grips for them. I got a cheap one for my Switch recently, and it makes playing in handheld mode a lot more pleasant!
Makes me happy to see other enjoy their retro handhelds 😊 I have an RG351P for GBA, a RG35xx Plus for GB and GBC and an RP2S For NES, SNES, PSX, N64 and Dreamcast :D waiting for the next generation of RP4Pro to hopefully make a choice for PSP (I dont have a 16/9 device yet), PS2 and GC and I’ll be set

Got mine for $28.73 off TikTok shop during their sale and I absolutely LOVE the thing! My first retro handheld. I have all the OG systems and cartridges but this is so amazing to carry around and is a pleasure to play. Only negative is my hands do seem to cramp after a while.
That's a crazy awesome price, I need to expand where I look when I buy stuff like this.

@@jonathanblandon8915 all of the originals are on this, GBA/GB and I believe DS, but you can also add your own games easily.

I love my 35XX H. After the RP4Pro, the next step is the Odin 2. And then, of course, the Steam Deck
Yea thats the ideal collection of these types of products to have. I have a 35XX H and I definitely want to get an RP4Pro. I dont know if Im going with the Odin 2 though. Seems to big to be pocketable and thats the case then I might as well pull out my more powerful steam deck instead.
The only console I didn't have that you mentioned was the Odin 2. Ultimately, I settled on the Legion Go, RP4Pro, and RG35XXH.
I have the Odin 2, it's a great device but big and expensive so have picked up an RG35XX H for a cheap pick up and play device when out and about.
I got one off aliexpress for $49 after shipping, coming today actually pretty excited. Going to install batocera on it, mostly got it for n64 and pokemon rom hacks. I love the pocketability of it too
Got mine for $24 from Tiktok Shop with discounts and a case. Expected to get scammed as Im pretty deep into SBCgaming. Nope got a brand new RG35XX H with everything with free shipping. Insane. Just had to buy a new SD card as the SD cards basically all emulator consoles come with are prone to failure.
Hey, could you help me with how you get the rom files for those games. All the websites I go to look sketchy to say the least.

I'm wondering if the black 35xxH has a different feeling than the transluscent purple.
I have the purple and it feels appropriate to my retro sensibilities to price point.
I have 353m and the two seem to be closer than you think in weight to me. So yeah I guess it is all relative.

Yeah I went down that handheld rabbit hole a few years ago. They have gotten better than when I started. If you would have shown us this when we were kids, are minds would have been blown. Then again some of use are from the Atari/intellevision days… so we were blown away with nes graphics… haha
Its crazy that I haven't seen these before, it exactly pummels the gaming nostalgia center in my brain.
Replacing the cheap and likely to fail SD card that comes with these consoles seems to be strongly recommended by reviewers who seem to know what they’re talking about (that’s another UA-cam rabbit hole I’ve fallen down!).
Every time someone has an issue with the console on the RG35XX subreddit, it’s tied to how bad the SD card is

100%. I replaced both of mine with SanDisk 128gb, no problems.
Easier said than done, been trying to do it on my Mac and I’m lost.
Look, if ya just want to turn on a device and start playing classic games in under 20 seconds this is the console for you. You take it out of the box, fire up a game and bam! your gaming. It's that simple. It came loaded with games which is great for beginners just building their library.

How exactly would you emulate PSP, Dreamcast or N64 without Analog sticks?

A few things. The nice things about the sticks, is you can turn in vertical for tall arcade games, and just use the controls on one side. Also, why would you want it to weigh more? It's a portable handheld. I want it to weigh nothing! :). Lastly, Anbernic does a good job of keeping the OS up to date. Might be worth checking and seeing if you have the latest one.

Hey, I don't know if you're watching these comments, but I got an RG35XX H this week and I'm trying to figure things out - the firmware doesn't seem to be recognizing thumbstick inputs or the clicky buttons under the thumbsticks.
I feel the opposite about handheld weight. Lighter is more comfortable to hold for a long time. More dense reminds you of quality electronics, but it doesn't actually feel better.
Good thing the only primary problems with this is the handheld part but I don’t intend to use it as a handheld. I intend to use it as a portable consule so I can go from TV to tv
I have the RG405v and I like my RG35xxh over it. Really easy to use right out of the box and more built in systems.
Question: what's the use of the two USB-C ports? On my RG35XX Plus, the USB-C port doesn't transmit data, it's only used for charging, and it doesn't actually follow USB specifications properly, either. Does the H support data transfer over USB, or are there any charging benefits to having two USB ports?

I just bought mine ($55 on Ali), waiting for it, but for sure I'd have pick it up faster if the left analog was on the top part with the D-pad under it (like the switch).
Yeah that's the one thing I wish they would change, its not in a usable part of the console right now imo.

Wait until you try out the RG556 for its cost... PS2, GC, Vita... all HD on it's OLED screen, looks amazing.

Yes it is, I didn't enjoy the experience much because the old games were clearly not made for large flatscreen 16:9 tvs. You can do a crop but even then it wasn't great (at least in my opinion)

I bought the last rg35xx and barely used it before it never turning on now. Frozen at main screen. Always something going wrong with these cheaper anbernics, so you're lucky if something doesn't go wrong and you've wasted your money anyway😢 then what can you do? Not be able to send it back! Quality control is not there
Is it best to just buy the base version or pay extra for the 128g or 256g cards?

can you play GameCube games on the ANBERNIC RG35XX H?
Anyone have any advice on getting the retroarch quick funtions to work? Seems like even if i rebund the keys or disable the quit/enter menu mode when i quit retroarch it switches back to the default but I also cant get the default funtions to work
You need to go to “Configuration” and save the configuration.
Could i download a rom like blaze black 2 on this device?
I'll stick with my RP4+! :) Pretty damn good PS2/GameCube emulation, and analog triggers to boot!
I'm 52 and though I love my 280m and 280v, I'd actually recommend the Trimui Smart Pro over any Anbernic right now.

yes you play over wifi using Netplay in Retroarch

Yes you can! All you need is a micro hdmi cable. connect a wireless controller via Bluetooth, voila!

It's a good console, just be mindful that it ain't very durable. It can break easily, so be careful to never drop it or give to a kid.
I agree, the analog sticks are not too comfortable to use. Especially given the in line triggers.

it wont let me use my new 128 sd card. ive cloned the sd card at it wont turn on
The hardware is limited to 64 GB card in TF slot one, Even if you partition it or only put 64 gigs on it get the car capacities higher than 64 it does not read it, TF slot 2 however will easily hold a 128
anyone hacked off the sticks?, I mostly want it for PS1 and the odd fighter on DC so sticks aren't needed, great place to move or add better speakers to

It's a game changer for sure. Waiting for Batocera to be able to use the hardware to it's capacity though.

I own both the Plus and the H and the plastics are identical, same plastic, same texturing . The H isn't "slicker". If they made the plus in solid black , you would imagine the same thing .
The weight is functionally identical too. H is 182 grams and Plus is 185 grams. A difference sure, technically on paper, but so small of a difference only a scale could tell the difference , for comparison that's 0.401241 pounds vs 0.407855 pounds. You can't feel that kind of difference.
In the hands they feel identical in weight.
I'm so upset, my 35xx h is crashing and the only way is resetting it or turn off, i don't know what to do cause i didn't see anyone with the same problem...
I had a similar problem with RetroArch on this; buy a better SD card and flash it with a firmware update
(there are a few tutorials on how) and of course get your own ROMs
