Haha..I had a giggle regarding Aaron with the drill being tightened and the karma from pulling the sunflower.....funny .... You are a great team. Alot of hardwork, I appreciate you sharing your life daily. Thank you
I'm only a few minutes in the video but I had to stop to comment and say how much I just adore you and Aaron - how you talk to each other and work together. You are truly an inspiration for others!! 😍🥰
Hi Flower Friends! I am growing so many of these same varieties here in Upstate New York where I have a flower farm! I also recently posted a video where I was planting mine-- I believe I have 350 plants this year. I'm excited to watch Laura dive in to cut flowers-- there was not a lot of cut flower content on UA-cam when I started documenting my journey last year. My dahlias are about a foot tall now and I'll be pinching half of them so I don't delay ALL my blooms. Always a joy to watch!
Is it weird that I am so excited about all the floral arrangements! I mean, even though I didn't plant a thing, I feel so invested. Hahaha! Can't wait to see these beauties! That Bridal Mix is gonna be glorious! Thanks again for another video!
I am so happy that you finally had time to plant your Dahilia's and Gladiola's. I love my Gladiolas and I add to them every year (this is my 3rd year). I have a mini that is red with white on the edges that is so beautiful. I know your not a red person, but you'd love them. My second variety is a light pink with a darker pink on tips and their gorgeous. As my glads bloom, I pick and put them in a vase to enjoy indoors. Two years ago I planted 4 Dahilia's with a lavender tone, lost 2 first season and I'm very happy 2 came back this year. I love them and plan to add more next year, and will need to stock up on snail bait because in Florida they are a constant battle for every plant and tree in my yard. My neighbor passed away first of May, she was a Master Gardener, she loved her plants and had many in big planters. Her family is from the north and no one is caring for her plants and things are dying. I bought her Meyer Lemon tree from her son and a few empty planters. So, yesterday I took a walk across the street to see how things were doing as we've had very little rain and I hate to see plants die. Things were looking very sad and I could not stop myself because I love my flowers and plants I started weeding the pots and gave everything a good watering. I did it for her, her love of flowers and for those poor plants that need life. PS - I can relate to opening a live plant struggling to open it with dry soil, then poof, it's all over you. LOL
So many lovely varieties. Can't wait to see what this new land looks like in a couple months. Poor Aaron; my back cried for you. Glad to see you two had some help with this project. ~ Lisa
This video in particular is one of my favorites!! NO WONDER you have so many of these plants-they are SO VERY BEAUTIFUL-who could resist all those you showed! I especially loved the music in this video, it was PERFECTLY matched to the activity! You both inspire excitement and energy in this 68 years young-ahem-old gal. Thanks for yet another wonderful visit!!
You guys are the "Chip and Jo" of the garden community. 🥰 I just love seeing you and Aaron work together! I've never planted Dahlias but as always, you've inspired me to try!
Love Aaron’s measuring technique for the poles but I absolutely loved the fast footage of the clouds floating by....graceful and peaceful. Love how you two work together. Looks like an army of people on your property at one point?
Aaron's comment about the sunflower made me laugh! I love dahlias. All of the ones you have are beautiful. That was a lot of work putting those in. I admire your commitment. 🌻🌺🌷💗
i love that you show the little errors you guys do too like getting the wrong size drill.. shows the real work you guys put into it, even though all this could be easily edited out to appear super easy and perfect!
I watched 1 of your older video's from about 2 & 1/2 years ago. (2018).Was Q & A. & you mentioned it was your dream to have a huge cutting garden. And Wow here you are Laura. Aaron was holding infant Benjamin & its the sweetest video.💞
At the end of the growing season, are you going to be pulling up all of the tubers? if replanting, how many seasons can get out of them? Really enjoyed the video and the photos at the end! Thank you for taking the time to do that for us. 😘
She did say she’ll lift and store them at the end of the season. It’s too cold there for dahlias to survive...typically. Never know weather these days.
Aaron and Laura - I enjoy watching you guys more than anything else on UA-cam and I live in a condo with absolutely zero gardening room 😂 I’m so excited for all your new projects. Such a true blessing to be able to join you in this journey.
I like that you work together and Aaron's measuring system. I started playing catch up on your video's at home on my TV, so that me and my husband can watch. Aaron helping you has gotten my husband involved in my projects and offered to HELP!! Thank you Laura for teaching, inspiring and motivating my hubby.
Laura - once again BRAVO- you are like an artist in front of a blank canvas and you have this teaching ability to make each step understood by our hopeful eyes- as you explain I can vision the beauty of those Dahlias blowing in the breeze- and why does it not surprise me that you want to share your bounty with friends and family-❤️- your awesome Laura
Okay, I had to laugh when you said you got dirt on your face while planting 275 dahlias. I practically look like I've been mud wrestling when I plant anything in our heavy Virginia clay, especially when it's muggy! Lots of activities in the background-even the cat! The flower varieties are breathtaking; starting my list for next year!
Laura you're becoming more of a farmer than a home gardener. Everything is in such huge production. I can't think of anyone that works harder than you with limbs and brain. Thank you for sharing your visions leading to amazing realities.
That will be so amazing!! Can't wait to see the updates on this project!! 😲 This was the first year I planted Dahlias (and Gladiolus and 300 bulbs in total, all in containers, all coloured coordinated, too!!) and now I know exactly what I did wrong and I will be saving all of the info for next year!! Some did come up though, a few are already in bloom and they are just stunning!! Thankfully I live in a zone where I don't need to dig them up in winter, I have no idea how you'll be doing that!! Have a wonderful day!! 😊
You and Aaron are warriors, all that work!! Can't wait to see this area in bloom. I love your arrangements that you do. The different flowers, branches and unusual items you add to each arrangement.
Wow, I admire how all your project are so ambitious... not only plants and containters, but your attitude towards gardening is huge inspiration for me!
I enjoy all your videos. You guys are such a great inspiration!! I don’t have large space, but I plant at my in-laws family cottage, which needed lots of maintenance in terms of planting and gardening. My partner’s Ama, who used to live there. She is so thrilled with the results. I started lots of plants from seed like you did, everyone is in the family is so amazed how great the plants turned out. Thank you guys so making such awesome videos!!
As I was watching Aaron pound those posts in and drill the holes (glad there was help!) I thought "They'll be tired at the end of this day!" And there are other colors of baling twine at least around here. There's green and tan/brown which would blend in with the flower leaves. Some of it is biodegradable. Thanks for your videos and glad to see you all taking a day off each week. We'll survive not having a Sunday video. I watched one of your older ones as I've just come to watch you in the last year.
What a tremendous amount of work - what great abundance you will have. Last year I learned to lengthen Dahlia vase life by first placing them in hot water (160 degrees) for an hour, then the vase. Really helped!
Those will be simply stunning! Y’all are moving right along on the new property. I can’t believe how much you have gotten done in really a short amount of time. Going to be a beautiful space when everything is in bloom. Great job y’all. 💜☀️
I am so glad you and Aaron are planting a great deal in the new garden area. I love all that you have planted and it is such a big treat watching the progress. Thank you for sharing your experiences. Have a great day!
I LOVE your videos Laura! You and Aaron are quite a team. Great job on everything you have done at your home. Dahlia's are such a beautiful flower and my Dad has been planting different varieties for years.
Dahlias are the national flower of Mexico. Last year I had some grown from seed and then transplanted the tubers to the ground in winter and totally forgot about them, until they started sprouting a couple weeks ago!
Aaron is just so awesome to help you.... my Hubby has ZERO interest in anything I do outside :( I love dahlias and I adore glads... can't wait to see all of them in bloom.
Just yesterday I viewed the first lesson in Erin's (Floret) summer mini series. It was about Dahlias. The message about pinching was reinforced by both of you. Love it. There are so many mixed messages on the internet about gardening, that it is reassuring to hear the same message from gardeners I trust.
What a huge job this was! I can’t believe y’all were able to get it done in a day. Wow! I can’t wait to see how these grow. My grandma used to grow the most beautiful dahlias, but I can’t grow them where we live, so I’m really excited to see these! I think the planting time is going to work out perfectly because of the color palette. We are all going to be longing for fall by the time these come out, and the flower colors will be perfect for fall arrangements! Thanks so much for sharing, and I hope y’all have recovered from sore backs, hands, and knees after doing all of this! 🙌🙌💚🌸
You will reap what you sow Laura and what Gorgeous Dahlias they will be. And its ok if you waited a hot minute to plant your Dahlias. Remember there are no mistakes in gardening only experiments. And Aaron did a fantastic job helping you, the stakes & holes looks so professional! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Congratulations Laura! What a big job- so happy for you that the tubers are all in the ground. I super love seeing all of the progress on the new property.
Loved this video, thank you for filming this for us! I had dahlias in my wedding flower arrangements and they have become my absolute favorite flowers. Looking forward to seeing them grow! :)
I'm so excited to see these. I bought my first dahlias this year and they are up. I've not really fussed with them and they look great. So glad you showed us the varieties at the end!
Jeania Conn I bought my first ones last year.Planted them in tubs left them over winter with some daffodils. The daffs have finished and the dalliahs are up (but not flowered yet) but the earwigs have had a field day.I live in the UK and we had a mild winter.
Do I see extra workers in this video? Have you hired people to help with planting the new property? I definitely understand that another pair or two of hands would be helpful! I love how much you and Aaron lovingly tease each other, I also enjoy watching the two of you work together to make your property come alive with beauty! I'm looking forward to seeing these dahlias grow and bloom, and I can't wait to see all of the floral arrangements you will create! ~Margie
I have 15 dahlias and they are now my favorite flowers! They are putting on quite a show right now! I can only imagine how beautiful yours are going to look! So exciting 💟😍🙌🏻🌸🌺
So glad you’re finally getting to plant your dahlias! I’m also glad to see you and Aaron had some help during this project. Please post videos of your flower arranging. They are spectacular!
Not sure if this question has been asked, but first off really enjoyed this video of shaping bare land to a planting space. Usually it's broken up in a series of videos, but this was nicely compacted...which I can appreciate all the hard work! Looks like you guys have figured out a great system to streamline the process. But my QUESTION!! There was growth on the bulbs. What did you do prior to planting them in the soil? Did you just cut it all down to the "eye"? I thought fresh cuts need time to heel over so they dont rot.
Yay!!! 😍😍😍😍😍 I planted a little over 100, and I’m super excited about them this year. I think yours will be just fine, the tubers looked super healthy. Our weather here in Portland (OR) has been so weird, so they’re not coming along as quickly as I wanted them too, but they grew quiet a bit this weekend. I can’t wait to see your dahlias! It’s going to be such a magical view in this new space, I can’t wait to see it full of gorgeous blooms. 🥰🥰🥰
How lucky you are to get Floret Dahlias! My cut flower garden that I planted from seeds are all from Floret and I had gotten all of my dahlia tubers from a place she had recommend since she is not selling hers. ❤️
I just got a little dahlia on clearance the other day! I'm so glad I'm not planting it too late in the season. Seeing you guys transform this new property is so fun and I can't wait to see it grow this season 😻
Oh Laura, so beautiful. I love Dahlias. Grew heaps when I lived in Tasmanian, Australia. I live in coastal NSW, now and have a tropical garden but I must admit I do long for the country garden again.
I live in zone 9b. I've been able to plant dahlias in February and March. We don't get much of a winter in south tx. Thank you for showing how you planted them. I enjoyed it :)
Wow...it’s really starting to look like a legit flower farm over there! I grew some dinner plate dahlias for the first time this year and I am smitten. Can’t wait to see the flower arrangements you come up with this year. I’m sure they will be glorious😊
I have some dahlias in containers and they look so beautiful. Yesterday I started clearing a area to plant dahlias in it next spring, so I’m excited to follow along 😊
This is my first year using the corral method, last year i staked 30 of them individually and it got out of control in August, lol. I just couldn’t keep up anymore! I corralled mine different than you did, I planted two Rows off center and used the t posts outside of the rows and used twine to contain it all. Hopefully it works!
How fun coffee with Laura, Aaron and lots of flowers. They all look so pretty I hope you do get a good crop as I love seeing your flower arranging. Things are slowly coming together out on the new property and it is so fun to watch, thanks for sharing with us!
I honestly loved seeing those price tags on the bags... it’s like “ yep, that’s me , that’s how I buy mine” sometimes it’s hard to relate because you have SOOOOO many plants going in at a time, but those bags spoke to me 😂
They will all be beautiful such a assortment of color! Cant wait to see them grow! You are such a kind and thoughtful person to share for family and friends! Aaron is to funny!
My grandma used to plant a couple of rows of dahlias in her vegetable garden every year. She would cut some for my sister and I to take a bouquet to our teachers on the first day of school when we were little.
I have been following Floret for years. I bought her last book and will buy the new one this year. Like yourself Floret gives information that is gold. Especially for growing, cutting, storing and how to get the best vase life for flowers. You just need Laura’s energy. How are you going weed these flowers without weed mats?
Ha ha Sunflower Karma, I LOVE IT. My hubby and I were just doing a 'joint project' of tree cutting yesterday and I thought of the pair of you. I also Love the idea that the Sunflower spirit was like, "Oh take me out of the soil, will ya? How's about a loose chuck on that drill" haha. We all like different things, that's for sure. My garden is probably just as much weed as intentional flowers , mainly due to my own inability to keep up with it all myself, but sometimes I think, "You know what, That wild dock looks lovely in that flower border, thanks Flower Spirits for planting it there...or Birds more like. I am excited to watch you develop this piece of land.
Laura- this is my first year planting dahlias. Can you talk about what can be done at the end of the season? Can you dig up and store tubers for next year?
I love dahlias and gladioli!! Such beautiful show stoppers! Butchart Gardens puts on the most glorious dahlia display! Some blooms are as big as your head : )) It will be hard to wait for the show yours will be but well worth the wait! Yay!
So I thought it would be really fun to see pictures of each area in your yard throughout the years 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019. Even with the ugly privet hedges and the bare spots and see what you have done to it up to today. I love your designs and I love how you love gardening as much as I do.
Suggestion: A calendar with your photos of floral arrangements. Wouldn’t that be stunning! I still use a wall calendar.
Who would buy one????
LOOOVE this suggestion!!
I would purchase one.
This, and/or different views of the garden with what's in bloom
That's a great idea!
I would 👍👍👍👍🖐️🖐️🖐️♥️
Haha..I had a giggle regarding Aaron with the drill being tightened and the karma from pulling the sunflower.....funny .... You are a great team. Alot of hardwork, I appreciate you sharing your life daily. Thank you
I'm only a few minutes in the video but I had to stop to comment and say how much I just adore you and Aaron - how you talk to each other and work together. You are truly an inspiration for others!! 😍🥰

I was surprised that auger didn't puncture the drip tape! Aaron has it under control!
I was worried about that too.Aaron and Laura are true professionals...they make everything look so perfect!
Lol I was thinking the same thing
Is it weird that I am so excited about all the floral arrangements! I mean, even though I didn't plant a thing, I feel so invested. Hahaha! Can't wait to see these beauties! That Bridal Mix is gonna be glorious! Thanks again for another video!
Hubby is such a good sport, you two seem to do so well together.
Oh my goodness. I can't wait to see this area in its full glory. Its going to be gorgeous! Thanks for including the variety pictures at the end!
LOL
This space is going to be absolutely GLORIOUS!
Wow, I am tired just watching you plant 🌱 I need to take a nap 🤗❤️💐
Thumbs up for the pics of each variety at the end
Love Aaron’s measuring technique for the poles but I absolutely loved the fast footage of the clouds floating by....graceful and peaceful.
Love how you two work together. Looks like an army of people on your property at one point?
my favorite part
I noticed that too! So peaceful!
Aaron is so humble.
Your videos help me out a lot. Especially the variety of perennials. Thank you for making this channel.
I love watching you both work together
Your heart and eyes are going to be SO happy once those bloom!!! So gorgeous!!!
Aaron's comment about the sunflower made me laugh! I love dahlias. All of the ones you have are beautiful. That was a lot of work putting those in. I admire your commitment. 🌻🌺🌷💗
You just keep blowing me away with your plans and energy!
i love that you show the little errors you guys do too like getting the wrong size drill.. shows the real work you guys put into it, even though all this could be easily edited out to appear super easy and perfect!
I watched 1 of your older video's from about 2 & 1/2 years ago. (2018).Was Q & A. & you mentioned it was your dream to have a huge cutting garden. And Wow here you are Laura. Aaron was holding infant Benjamin & its the sweetest video.💞

- I was also wondering how many seasons you get out of your tubers???
Please do a digging and storage video at the end of the season, as I’m just learning and lose about half of my tubers each winter during storage.
She did say she’ll lift and store them at the end of the season. It’s too cold there for dahlias to survive...typically. Never know weather these days.

Oh they are going to be so beautiful. Just imagine walking out to a field of color 🥰
I just imagine what it would be like to live next door. All the benefits of the beauty without any of the work. :-)
I can't wait for a follow up video on the progress of this and other projects in the new property.

I can't wait to see your dahlia arrangements! I just planted 20 tubers this spring :)
Team work makes the dream work..I really love the way you and Aaron work so well together😊
I am so glad you and Aaron are planting a great deal in the new garden area. I love all that you have planted and it is such a big treat watching the progress.
Thank you for sharing your experiences. Have a great day!
Oh the memories! My father grew dahlias for shows...... 2,000 hills each year!😊
I LOVE your videos Laura! You and Aaron are quite a team. Great job on everything you have done at your home. Dahlia's are such a beautiful flower and my Dad has been planting different varieties for years.

I watched your first wedding cut floral arrangement the other day. You are a natural at floral arrangements.
That's the first video I watched and haven't missed any since!

Joyce Finney I may need to take preventative measures with mine. We had a very wet spring. Also, had a mild winter.
So many gorgeous varieties! Very happy for you that you were able to get them in the ground. Fingers crossed they will bloom profusely for you.

You're my inspiration!!!! And for that, I am thankful. 🙏💗🌻🙏💗🌻
Once the space is complete and in its a fabulous full bloom. Imagine seeing this from their drone shots. It's going to be glorious.
So glad you’re finally getting to plant your dahlias! I’m also glad to see you and Aaron had some help during this project. Please post videos of your flower arranging. They are spectacular!
You and Aaron have done an incredible job with your new land. It is amazing. You should be proud of yourselves. Love watching your videos.

Can't wait to see the growth on these! This area is looking phenomenal!
That’s going to be quite the flower field should be a great show looking forward to it!!!
It's so exciting to see the pumpkins in the background.
GA is just what my morning coffee needed! ☕
How lucky you are to get Floret Dahlias! My cut flower garden that I planted from seeds are all from Floret and I had gotten all of my dahlia tubers from a place she had recommend since she is not selling hers. ❤️
I really do love seeing that you have help. I can imagine that helps get everything you want to accomplish finished easier.
I just got a little dahlia on clearance the other day! I'm so glad I'm not planting it too late in the season. Seeing you guys transform this new property is so fun and I can't wait to see it grow this season 😻
Can't wait to see all the beautiful colour in that area. You guys are the best.
Oh Laura, so beautiful. I love Dahlias. Grew heaps when I lived in Tasmanian, Australia. I live in coastal NSW, now and have a tropical garden but I must admit I do long for the country garden again.
Haha the reel spinning with the spinning effect at 7:45!! Ken you are so funny! 😂😂😂
What an awesome, large task. I hope that all of your Dahlias/Glads come up. It will be spectacular.
You two make me so happy! You are the best!
I honestly loved seeing those price tags on the bags... it’s like “ yep, that’s me , that’s how I buy mine” sometimes it’s hard to relate because you have SOOOOO many plants going in at a time, but those bags spoke to me 😂
Same 😂😂😂😂
Sometimes its hard to relate?!
@@staceystrukel1917 I think they mean moneywise/spending wise.
They will all be beautiful such a assortment of color! Cant wait to see them grow! You are such a kind and thoughtful person to share for family and friends! Aaron is to funny!
Oh wow! What a glorious display your dahlias will be.... I can't wait to see when full in bloom!
My all time favourite flowers. They are so prolific and so beautiful.
Wish i had such a supportive partner like you do. You both make an excellent team! Love your content!!
Wow...those varieties are gorgeous ...cant wait to see all that colour 🌺🌼💐
Laura- this is my first year planting dahlias. Can you talk about what can be done at the end of the season? Can you dig up and store tubers for next year?
I love dahlias and gladioli!! Such beautiful show stoppers! Butchart Gardens puts on the most glorious dahlia display! Some blooms are as big as your head : )) It will be hard to wait for the show yours will be but well worth the wait! Yay!
So precise & organized 💪I love it!!! 💚Really enjoy seeing the new property flourish💚looking forward to updates 💐🌺🌸
So I thought it would be really fun to see pictures of each area in your yard throughout the years 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019. Even with the ugly privet hedges and the bare spots and see what you have done to it up to today. I love your designs and I love how you love gardening as much as I do.
Also I was thinking it would be fun to see the same month of every year so like April, May, June, July, August, etc. of all the different years.
