I forgot about an amaryllis bulb from last Christmas that I had tucked away. I just pulled it out and it was dry and crispy. I thought why not water and see what happens? After two days I already see new growth. God’s creation is amazing!
It is!❤
I can never get mine to bloom
I love the way you love the plants and then totally get elated when you see them in the perfect spots you picked. Your enthusiasm is catchy and I think the plants know you love them and even do better for it. I’ve never missed a single video since your beginning in the condo. I can love plants through you. I’m 81 and my hard work days are over. Keep up the great work both of you.
Yes, I found Laura early on when she was in a video on her driveway by a row of arbs and said she had to go in as her son was waking up from a nap. He house looked lovely. Have watched her since and am amazed by their accomolishments. Lovely family.
I bet the Dream Team are very pleased seeing the kids using their surprise water feature! Just so much fun.
Nothing more glorious than the sound of children having a blast! Thank you for sharing.
Good morning 🌞 I wish I could show you the garden I have thanks to your tips and suggestions.i am so thankful for you and your love and passion of gardening.😊
You can email them photos! Maybe this winter they'll do garden Inspiration again and show US! 😊
How much fun to be able to share your marvelous place with the kid's friends. That's the best sound - kids laughing and playing outside...
Your channel has been such a positive start for me in the morning. Thanks.
I have saved a couple of cracked terracotta pots by gluing the crack then glue wrap string or rope round pot to strengthen it gives it a little rustic look.
Oh my gosh Karen. What a great idea. I had never thought of that. Oh that’s awesome. 💜💜
That is a great idea.
What type of glue?
What a joy for your neighbours who get to live next to a beautiful private botanical garden🎉
This! I’ve wanted to be their neighbor (ok let’s be honest, I want them to adopt me) since they moved onto this property. What a view.
Good morning everyone, have a blessed day! Thanks Laura for a very inspiring garden video
The sound of the dream stream was cool.
Children giggling is such a beautiful sound. The video the other day when you planted the 9 pots, I forgot to comment on there , but i got such joy seeing that Benjamin was driving the gator !! so proud of him !!
Everything looks beautiful Laura! Especially all the new trees. The kids play area is a dream, only thing needed is a couple big shade trees. Get the biggest ones available so the kids can play in the shade while they’re little. Sending love from Southeast Georgia:)
Although it was implied in the video, I thought it might be helpful to folks in areas that get a lot of rain (like here in Ohio) to mention that they will get best results by keeping pots of bulbs covered or under shelter until they start to see shoots emerge in the spring. This will prevent bulbs from rotting with winter rain (ask me how I know 😂). I keep my tulip pots in a covered breezeway and move them outside when they start showing shoots around February. Love that you are always trying new ways... that messy bulb foliage is so unsightly and planting in crates means you don't have to look at it in the garden for weeks and weeks after the blooms fade. Seeing the kids playing in the background was delightful. Years of that to look forward to ❤!
That is a good idea I never thought of, using my carport. I've never planted bulbs here in Ohio because of all of the rain.
Seems like tulips are the most problematic. Daffs etc naturalize well in the ground and bring me so much joy after winter!
Your videos make my day! Enjoy your family time!
Awesome video, cant wait to see those bulbs come and bloom in the spring, they are going to be so beautiful. I just love to hear laughter of little kids playing and having so much fun
Best day ever.❤
Thank you thank you thank you for sharing God's blessings with us.
I always enjoy watching with my morning coffee and I am so engrossed in the calmness, or the fun and educational videos. Some days I'm taking notes that I forget to hit like! 😂
If you ever get the amazing opportunity to meet miss Laura n Aaron and them cute kids, they are just as lovely in person as you see on screen. Wonderful people…
You can have a God’s blessings as well for 💰💰 💰 💰!
One of my “watch again” videos last night was your May garden tour video from 7yrs ago. Oh. My. Word!! So much has changed, and for the better! You guys have done SO MUCH!! I think your awesome editor should do a before/after video one of these days. I bet he and Aaron would put together something awesome!
I had thought the same thing!😊
What beautiful planting. Looking forward to seeing how bulbs do in the high tunnels. Lovely children and water sounds. Thank you for ALL your videos.
❤❤❤❤
That terracotta pot will be a show stopper. Wow. That’s going to be amazing. Those mums are huge. Sooo crazy those were from seed. Wow. I have never came across muscari (I think I got the name spelled right) good lord. That is beautiful. It kind of reminds me of the Buddleja. A bit. It’s beautiful. I am going to join you and grab me some, plant them, and see what happens. Thanks again miss Laura. Stay amazing. Sooo good to see the kids playing in the water feature. And their friends. I needed this today.
I'm already anticipating the Spring flowers. 🌷 🌷 🌷 🌷 🌷 🌷
Good Morning! 🍁 I love the sound of the Dream Stream! I have always liked Yarrow! Looking forward to those bulbs in the Spring! Beautiful mums! 🌷🌺🌻🌿
I have actually put a wire around a cracked pot, twist it until it's a little tight and the pot didn't continue to crack any further. The wire doesn't look bad to me and you can turn the crack to the back. Those big pot can be expensive and it's a good way to save them.
I've done that too. I've also done it on antique crocks that are cracked. I plant in them outside too. Some of mine have been repaired like that for at least 10 years.
Good morning! Such pretty bulbs. It will be a very pretty display this Spring.
Oh my, the sound of the stream ❤
Oooh when you have to "retire" that terracotta pot, you could maybe turn into one of those fairy gardens that use pieces of broken terracotta as mini retaining walls as part of a larger pot.
I'm amazed at how established the Dream Stream looks. It's as though it's always been there. Lovely!🤗💙🤗
I wrapped my big terracotta pots with copper wire and it helped keep it from cracking the rest of the way. And it aged a cool color too😊
Good morning from Delaware Garden Answer friends.
Who said there are not bright pink flowers in the mountains?? I think they are beautiful ❤️
I don’t think I’ve ever seen that purple/ blue bulb. Can’t wait to see it!
Voting for tulip & muscari lasagna in those urns as well! Also loving that your kids & friends are having fun playing with all the new features. Your property is prime for that for years to come!
Love the new bulbs! Will be a great show.
Beautiful! How fun for the kids, enjoying the last few days of warmth! Blessings 💞🙏🏻
A blessed evening to all!!!
We got 4 inches of snow in Tennessee. In the higher mountains. I'm ready for spring.
Snow already, wow. I'm Canadian and don't usually see snow in my area until December, sometimes January. But I'm also in the most southerly town too, there is 27 States that sit more Northern than me.
Oh gosh. We are going to get snow this evening here in east Idaho. Right there with you miss Mary. Ready for spring.
We got our first freeze last night in Kentucky. Some areas got a little snow.
It's way early for these temps.
Wow..lol..your spring comment made me smile, I'm in the Caribbean so no snow ever, it's supposed to be the rainy season here but it's so hot, wishing for cooler days sigh...
Yes, we had a few flakes already too. The lowest mountain near us is capped. I bet we will get the ground covered next week.
Beautiful plants, glorious day and the sound of kids playing and having fun. What more could you ask from life. What a fun video that brought a smile to my face and joy to my heart. Thank you for sharing. Have a blessed day everyone.
I love the chokeberry by the stream ! The berries are a super food .
I just can't get over how that stream looks like it's been there 100 years! And I truly love the leaf litter from the big tree along the stream. It looks peaceful to me!!
what a gorgeous day.. and children laughing in the background is one of the happiest sounds ever... slowly filling in so many pretty areas... can't wait to see the bulbs, hard to believe it's fall already.. the rest of the year just flies by for me when we hit october... love those geraniums in the high tunnel.. the peach one looks like happy fireworks to me, lol... enjoy your beautiful weather!! 🥰❤thanks for the video!! 🥰❤
Love the plantings! What a great idea on the 2 layers of bulbs in your pot! Will have something to look forward to this spring! Loved seeing the kids playing in the playground area and the dream stream project for them!! ❤❤❤
A large metal open design (such as a globe or something round or with softer lines) sculpture would look beautiful in the garden that you just planted the Yarrow in.
Good morning all have a safe and blessed day ❤️
Good morning to you miss Rose..🌹
Glad you realized you missed using the bulb tone great catch before covering with soil. Can't wait to see the blooms in spring from your new bulbs.
Japanese Blood Grass would look really cool around the stream and pond. I know it’s red, but it also has some green too and it’s so beautiful
I always learn so much from you and your videos! I'm giving bulbs a try this year. ❤
Great planting. Kids have fun
Excellent. Can hardly wait to see the bulbs grow also should be glorious. The Mum’s are so pretty. So unique. Wow. Thanks again for sharing this with us.💯💯💯🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
The mums remind me of dahlias. Kind of the same vibe. Very pretty. Can’t wait to see raised beds in there. I’m hoping to get some raised beds in the spring. 👏🏼 I’m so excited 🎉
The sound of that water oh my gosh.
That will be an amazing combination. So fun to see the kids enjoying the stream. I just bought my first Aronia Ground Hug. Love the fall color!
Just a great video today blub planting can't wait to see them bloom wil be a great show. And all the other plants you planted just beautiful.
Afternoon Everyone 🥰
Never heard of bulb lasagna!! Love it and going to try it out. Hurry up spring 😅💚🌿🙌🙌 thank you Garden Answer
Thanks Laura!🪴
appreciate your insight🙏🏾
What a beautiful life 🥰
An overlooked herb that I love is pineapple sage. Give it good water and it thrives and will get large. It has red tube shaped flowers that hummingbirds love. It tends to bloom in fall and continue through winter where I live in zone 9 and blooms in spring. Don’t know what it would do in winter in your zone 6/7. Mine is in a container and I cut it way back this spring because it was huge and it survived our winter but although we have some freeze it’s not like yours.
We have pineapple sage in our front porch garden in zone 8 with good results but it does need frequent water (twice daily in the summer). We have super hot dry summers. In spring and fall it is a beautiful foliage contrast to the flowers. Summer, we get a little sparse.
You have such a good eye to where to put your plants
You always give us such good ideas about new plants. I’m going to be checking out the aronia for my landscape.
So great that the kids are enjoying the splash pad already. Great informative vedio: I needed info on bulbs & terra cotta being outside all winter.
❤yarrow has such a rich green!!
Wow beautiful flowers beautiful plant ,,beautiful sharing my friend
Everything looks so beautiful ❤thank you for sharing ❤️
Did Greg etal mention the option of netting your creek by the big tree to address the leaves as they fall? It could be tricky with the turns but it might save you a lot of clean up in the water.
I've recently moved to a zone 6-7 in high dessert. It's going to be so nice to follow along with your seed starting/ planting schedule. Thank you so much for sharing your passion for pretty.
"If you can make it pretty.... why wouldn't you?" I'm not sure who said it, but it reminds me of something your mom would say.
Off topic, have you ever watched Mr.Gong on UA-cam?
My word, I can watch him make arrangements for hours. It's something totally different from what you do, but it's still as gorgeous.
Enjoy your best weather days! Your property is looking amazing. It surprises me how here in the Kansas City MO area we just had 2 night of frost already and you are still frost free way up there is Oregon. Just seams like farther north would be colder but we are in the same planting zone . Thanks for all the inspiration to keep planting!❤
I live not terribly far from where she is and it's coming. Probably in the next few days, if not a week.
Laura, I absolutely love your channel! How do you remember what & where you plant things (like spring bulbs)? Do you write a note, or have a map of your garden, and make notations each time you plant or remove items? Is there a method to your gardening? Like, plant new spring annual/ perennials by winter dying annuals/perennials? I wouldn't be able to remember something I planted a few weeks or months underground (especially seeds) without tags all over the place. But, then again, I'm old(er) 😅 💐 🌹 🌸 ❤
I too forget where I plant bulbs but I've found that if I take pictures of them in springtime when in bloom I can reference it in the fall when I want to plant more bulbs. I learned the hard way by digging up old bulbs! Best of luck!
Frost at my house this morning..bye flowers❤
Hi! Laura and all. .
Love how the planting is going, especially around the " Dream Stream ".
As I was watching I had a crazy idea....... Perhaps you could have a black metal sign post with gold writing. Pointing to some areas, for instance " Play City " " The Paddocks " " The Orchard " " The Hartley " .... ... Just a thought. Love from the UK 😊
Good morning!🌻🐝
Laura I think you need a black current. They taste so good. The Aronia is very astringent. I know because I tried one this summer. 🥴
Think about putting some of the heritage mums in large pots that you can bring up closer to the house to use for fall color. Leave most for cutting in the high tunnel.
I don’t like sedum or yarrow at all, will never grow them. Love the bulbs tulips and the muscadari though. Mums, Dalia’s. That’s what makes gardening so fun. You make your own slate. Laura thanks for keeping it interesting. 😂
A fountain would be beautiful behind where you planted the yarrow!
For the muscari, considering how early they are I could also see them planted in one of the kidney lawn sections…by the time they would be finished it would be time to mow the lawn
Have you considered putting some of the mums in the cold frame? They might be protected from the cold winter 😊
You never cease to amaze me!! Question" Would you skip the biotone with the yarrow in other months as well or is it just because winter is coming?
Good morning, sissy!🫶🧡💛🤎❤️🥰🩷💕❤️
gorgeous
Nice job Laura ❤
Muscari is one of my girlfriends favorite bulbs.
Gorgeous 🌿🌱☘️
wow, Beautiful Garden,,
Gorgeous! Love your videos!
Awesome as always ❤
I watched another video where they did mass planting of tulips and they did not worry about getting the points up and they all came up fine:)
I have an idea if that pot finishes cracking. Remember making the kiddie cracked planters, like Alice Wonderland, etc? Some at the playgrounds and new kids area at the pond! Of course something older for Benjamin. Race cars or bldg blocks or Dino’s , whatever they’re into, and their friends will get a kick out of it too. Fairy’s for her or what ever she’s into now lolol. Four big ones for every corners of their special areas, playground, b-ball, pond or areas they gravitate towards. Maybe you can find broken pots at stores they don’t want. lol. I’m retired with too much time to think lololol.
The garden looks so beautiful with all the fall colour. Question: do you worry about tulip fire in your area by planting the tulips early? I lost a display last year by planting all my bulbs at the same time so will wait until late November to plant the tulips. Muscari are one of my favourites and I tuck them in everywhere I can.
Good morning ☕️ 😊
I have a suggestion for your cracked pot. I have used Flex Tape on the inside of a favorite pot of mine that cracked. It’s still holding strong.
I use Terra cotta pots that have cracked. Believe or not I use Flex Seal tape on the inside and it keeps it going for more seasons.
Great idea! Thanks!
What a fun bunch of projects. Will the yarrow spread or stay put?
I didn’t realize you could use raised bed mix like potting soil! I thought maybe it was like using garden soil in a pot and would compact. Ya learn somethin new every day!
Awesome
Thank you for all the information you give and inspiration. Are you going to try and get amaryllis bulbs to Blume for Christmas this year?
Hi Laura, Camassia plant or Camas Lily/Wild Hyacinth are beautiful, long lasting, late spring show offs. I'm not sure if you plant these but I'm in the Northeast zone 6a-7b (: and they come up beautifully every year.
It was 80° here yesterday (northern Utah) and today we have rain and chance of snow. I’m so not ready for this winter….
I have always loved muscari. I love that they naturalize. What I do NOT like is my variety pushes grassy leaves in the late summer. It looks messy. I do love them under my red riding hood tulips in the spring. I am in 6b in NW Ohio.
Plant the muscari where it can spread like crazy because I literally dig our shovels of it and throw it out it spreads so fast and thick. And there's alot of tiny baby bulbs still everywhere. It's true, once you plant it in the ground you're doomed. Like mint, travels everywhere. But it's pretty.
Music editing is on point.
Duct tape the inside of that cracked pot. It will hold up against moisture. Maybe even use a little electrical tape. It won't be seen from the outside. I've rescued fave pots doing that. And sometimes you can set another pot inside to keep some moisture away from tape. Point is saving the pot.
