As far as I'm aware fasting can heal your body quicker, and fasting does increase short term a lot.
But fasting over long term lowers it. My test got better thru fasting, cutting out sugar. Heavy lifting 2 to 4 times a week. There is some science behind that. I think high intensity health looked into it?
And I initially got into this following jack Kruse quilt protocol... which is interesting .. lol

  • @Bigzthelove

I did intermittent fasting where I was fasting 18hrs a day. I started because I heard it multiplies your hgh and testosterone production. I didn’t get huge and I did it for a long time, but I had more energy, and could do twice the number of push-ups easy. There was definetly something to it. It was hard to do. Only water for 18hrs everyday!
I experimented with carnivore and intermittent fasting 18hr. That got me really shredded but was also really hard.
Just eat and just workout that’s the best thing you can do don’t ivercompkicate it folks. If your trying to find something out or explore new diets go for it! It’s worth experiencing yourself, but maybe not worth experiencing everyday forever or changing your life around

I fast 18/4 but I do it for insulin control. I’ve reversed type 2 all the way back to normal. (That’s one step before pre-diabetes)
Bonus: you take the COVID vax? Autophage is really the option for clearing out its glitches (malformed proteins), pre-cancerous cells, host of cellular renewal.)

    • @briandupre1494
      @briandupre1494 10 місяців тому +2

@gustonjava2754 I've done IF with carnivore and got fantastic results for cutting fat. In theory, if you eat enough protein you'll hold onto most of your muscle while burning the fat away super fast.
Never had constipation issues, but make sure you get your greens and jalapeños in and you'll be fine. You really only need fiber in your diet to clear out the grains in your GI tract. Fiber and antioxidants are needed in high doses with a modern American diet filled with processed foods and once you cut them out you need much less of those things. Same with Omega 3s.
Try it out! I'd usually eat at 4pm usually eggs and bacon and a protein shake and then post workout I'd have a steak with greens and hot peppers and another shake. Every 2 or 3 days throw some wild salmon in there and you'll be set.

No you will not turn into The Rock by not eating for 3 days, obviously, but an hour walking per day combined with 1/2 meals a day with a solid 16 hrs fasting and you will lose excess fat, have consistent energy levels and should feel mentally sharper. it will also extend your life and quality of life especially if you currently consume a carb rich, sugar rich, processed food diet like many people do.

Same , 44 years old, and I feel better than when I was 18, its simple,I don't eat till 2 pm and quit around 10 pm, when I do eat it's healthy carbs like oats , potatoes, and fruits at 2 grams per lb of body weight, 1 gram of protien like grass fed meat, venison, or fish per pound of body weight, and I also get a healthy dose of good fats like MCT oil, Olives, Grass Fed Butter and the like. I also eat at least one meal a week of organ meat like Braunschweiger sausage, liver n onions, or some deer heart. Cutting out seed oils, soy oil, and High Fructose Corn Syrup is good policy too. I sleep from 1130 pm until Daylight every night for Circadian rythym. Its not hard to read ingredients and nutritional info. I checked this. Found a website which doesn't cite their sources saying: "During a 24-hour fast, HGH levels increased an average of 1300 percent in women, and nearly 2000 percent in men." Since she doesn't cite her sources, this is anecdotal, not scientific.
Another website: "Fasting for as little as 16 hours increased HGH levels and fasting for 24 hours increased Growth Hormone by more than 300%." (her chart had 400 to 500% increase at 24 hour mark). Doesn't cite sources. Anecdotal information.
Looking at a proper science article (just scimming) - and there the numbers are completely different. day 0: mean GH level: 5.8. Day 1: 7.3. Day 5: 9.9. So according to this data, the GH increase in 24 hours is 25% (not 2000%). After 5 days the inrease is 70% - not ten trillion billion percent. Note: I did not make 100% if the chart I looked at was looking at fasting times, but I would be pretty surprised if it didn't, since the article is about how fasting enhances GH secretion. Note 2: I was looking at "GH peaks within a 24 hour cycle".
Other option was mean interpeak level - which I do not know what this means (interpeak definition: "between peaks") - day 0: 0.3, day 1: 1.3. day 5: 3.4 => day 1: 300% increase (meaning 400% from original value), day 5: 1000% increase (meaning 1100% compared to original value).
Article name: Fasting Enhances Growth Hormone Secretion and Amplifies the Complex Rhythms of Growth Hormone Secretion in Man

It’s exceedingly simple. This GH spike after significant fasting is your body’s panic response to nutrient deprivation and helps to mitigate the degree of catabolism that may be necessary to sustain activity during a perceived starvation event. Our bodies are vessels that have evolved to ward off starvation and this is a major mechanism

Great video and i love the comment sections. I don't understand all the science behind the studies like the idgf-1 stuff but logically it makes sense. Your body is constantly in survival mode. when you are hungry you get tired since your body wants you to conserve energy since you haven't topped up. So to think your body would increase production of stuff when you haven't eaten in a very very long time(sleeping is different since you are in a natural resting state) logically doesn't make sense. Especially when it comes to Testerone, i do know that Testerone has an effect on Metabolism. High T=High Metabolism. Metabolism=rate of energy conversation. so now you have 0 calories coming in, yet your Metabolism is suppose to increase aka your body wants to burn more energy when you haven't put anything in the tank. makes 0 sense. If that was the case people who end up missing for X days/weeks from going off trail hiking would come back jacked as fuck and not damn near emancipated

A terrible one who cherry picks data and clearly needs to brush up on their Biochemistry knowledge of the human body.
We need to get rid of this notion that all doctors are smart. They are not. They just persisted with 6 years in university and passed exams. Some of my friends are MDs and dumber than a second coat of paint. They just were good at revising but couldn't problem solve if you paid them.

Been doing intermittent fasting off and on for a past year and did both 8 hour and 4 hour eating windows. Don't know my test levels but I've had some INTENSE training sessions. However...I go off/on because after two weeks it feels like I start to lose too much weight for what I want. My mental focus gets really awesome like 'high' the last few hours before I eat and especially when I push my eating window longer into the day.
So one of these days I should do my blood work before IM and then about a week deep into it just before eating just to see what MY blood works says.

I've been fasting during the weekends for a few months, every Friday or Saturday I'll go anywhere from 20-60hrs. Mainly to help cut body fat, from a "5 YR bulk" 😆 I've also been taking ECDY to maximize my efforts and try not to lose strength and muscle mass. I have noticed after breaking the fast I have tons of energy, like trying a new pre-workout and sometimes more strength as well. Also, I have gotten leaner while maintaining strength, and even gotten a couple of PRs during the process. Definitely not the FIX all solution, but I'm liking the results so far.
