The whole high T = crime and violence is such BS. It’s lack of morals, lack of a good father figure, bad peer influence, desperation, drug addiction, low IQ. And unmarried men are far more likely to commit crime and end up in prison.
Especially when it comes to property crimes a lot of these dudes have really low T and are drug addicts. Being under the influence will make you not care about the consequences so much and the desperation to get money for drugs will make you more willing to take the risk. I say all this as a former career criminal and reformed ex con.

I'm going to disagree with Ms. Perry on the idea that High T Men cause more crime and violence. If you look at school shooters they are almost always chronically online and malnourished individuals. This is anecdotal of course, but the times in my life when I felt the most masculine and fit were also the times when I was the most emotionally well-adjusted and outwardly friendly. It was when I was unhealthy and unconfident that I was sitting on a knife's edge all the time.

I find it amusing how she's like "well, we want good T levels in men to promote healthy relationships etc., but high T is also linked to violence/aggressiveness, so we have to ask ourselves if we want that as a society - it's a tradeoff." She just says it so casually. She's basically saying that the natural default male mode has negative externalities in society and maybe we shouldn't want that. I wonder if someone pointed out the (many) negative qualities and externalities of estrogen prevalence/dominance and said "we really have to think about whether we want a society like that" how she'd take it. But no one will say that, because she's a woman. Here's the ACTUAL fact: social violence/aggression is multifactorial. We as a society had far less violence and aggression in the 40's-60's than today, despite men having 2-3x more testosterone on average. She should try to look at the actual causes of social aggression and approbation of violence (breakdown of the family unit, a culture which glorifies violence etc.) instead of suggesting that men perhaps shouldnt be who they are genertically destined to be.

Growing up in an all female household (except me), diet was a big factor.
Them obessing over low fat, all of us basically eating zero fat, barely eating any meat or animal products or protein in general. So pretty much only carbs and sugar.
Basically the opposite what you should eat.
Always had hormonal issues, vitamin deficiencies, autoimmune disorders, insulin resistance, heart problems and anemia because of this.
I think many are in the same boat, essentially malnurished without knowing it. Because of vanity and widespread nutritional misinfromation. That's a huge factor in lack of testosterone.
If it weren't for my grandmas cooking regular food occasionally, I would have turned into a dwarf.
That's on top of constantly being told that being male and acting is evil. Luckily I'm old enough that trans wasn't a thing yet, my parents 100% would have pushed me into that if I were a Zoomer. I just dodged that bullet (literally probably) by a few years.
Good thing my uncle, movies and the internet kept me on the masculine and sane side. Got into lifting at age 14, probably not an understatement that that saved my life. Mainly because I completely switched up my diet, always preparing my own food.
Never tested my testosterone levels back then, but they must have been abysmal at times, but I turned out okay overall.
Thanks grandpa for bequeathing your powerlifter frame on me. 😂

I am in my early 20s and healthy, but because of a genetic thing I had sleep apnea and didnt know. I got the breathing machine and gained 15-20 lbs of muscle and got more shredded despite being heavier. Then it broke for a while and I lost weight while getting chubbier. The changes were stark. It was very eye opening. I never got blood work, but I have to assume it made a huge impact on my hormones. I notice that a lot of my peers have abysmal sleep habits. For every 10 people I meet I'd guess only 1-2 have a good circadiam rhythm. I bet that has a bigger impact than most would think on the global testosterone declines.

She does not understand that low T causes depression and mental illness. Low T men are in fact highly dangerous and unstable, especially to women since women are physically frail and low T men still have the bone structure and physical frame of a man, which makes them stronger regardless. Low T men are not "chill" they are depressed, unstable with anger issues due to the social consequences of falling through the cracks as a low T man. Normal hormonal levels are required to have a healthy state of mind, to be chill, social, to be able to focus, to perform well at tasks and so on.

True. Basically fat tissue leads to increased estrogen for both men and women (obesity linked to increase risk of breast cancer etc. ) but all the glyphosate chemicals and micro plastics cause changes in how the body metabolizes fat and exposure to those can contribute to obesity. Also no one mentions corn. I grew up on a farm and corn was what we fed the animals that we were trying to fatten up for auction. Corn oil, corn syrup even ascorbic acid and citric acid (leading preservatives) are corn based. Please look them up on wiki... to see just what food manufacturers are putting into our bodies if we let them.

3:08 She says 'high testosterone is associated with crime and violence'. I believe that the (more) danger comes from men with low testosterone who don't have the best composure and _could_ snap at high emotional pressure, though they would seem more 'safe' in everyday occurrences. High testosterone is also associated with creativity, confidence and competence, but if the society doesn't give a way-out to these men (the education system is build around conformity, and thus female-friendly), given the circumstances (like bad parenting) then these men _could_ possibly turn into violence.
So her argument is about correlation, not causation and I find it disingenuous (not going deeper into the root of the problem), or at least one-sided (=from the female pov, 'oh I'd like to feel safe, and I don't care if most men are neutered')

Testosterone levels are highly associated with physical activity. Due to on-line life, school activity and helicopter parents, children are becoming each day more sedentary. I think one of the factors in testosterone levels drop could be lack of physical activity, far from parents, in a male circle, during early teen life. As a Developmental Biologist hormone production is sustained by different feedback loops that make it more difficult to understand. From a biological standpoint other factors could be time and quality of sleep, that has been pushed to later hours with increased screen time, breaking the link between circadian rhythms and hormone production, food quality, repression of male behavior in schools and many more. I think anyway this could be a multifactorial phenomenon, which is inevitably more difficult to study.

No1 you inherited lower genetic baseline levels than what your father had, meaning you can live as healthily as you can and lift and train with no stress reaching your highest possible level and it will be lower than your fathers highest level. Secondly plastics and chemicals promote aromatizing, converting testosterone into estrogen thus lowering free testosterone(what actually does the work).

    Hey Chris,
My Dad worked for a waste water company for a number of years. In some countries waste water is treated and put back into circulation for drinking water. He learned the greatest threat to waste water being untreatable is the use of prescription drugs, one especially being birth control pills. In 2013 they were almost at the maximum amount of additives they could add to the waste water so that it could be put back into circulation.
I also live in a part of the world were the pipes that carry our drinking water is close to a century old in some parts. This also poses potential drinking water problems as the metals over time tend to leach into the water.
Just some things too I think that are contributing.

It might sound overkill but I always keep at least a month's worth of bottled water in the house as I know how easy the whole drinking water system can easily fall apart. Most men today have suboptimal levels of testosterone - a lot less than their fathers or grandfathers had just 30-50 years ago. There are various reasons for this. One factor that is oftentimes neglected is endocrine disruptors in our environment (i.e., xenoestrogens, BPA, phthalates, triclosan, etc.), phytoestrogens in food (i.e., soy, which is in almost all processed foods), and hypothyroidism (subclinical or autoimmune Hashimoto's disease).
To increase testosterone levels naturally and reduce chronic inflammation:
    • Get enough daily sunlight.
    • Supplement with vitamin D3 (especially during the winter or if you live in a northern climate).
    • Supplement with zinc picolinate (20 - 40 mg per day).
    • Supplement with magnesium glycinate or citrate.
    • Weight train regularly (3 - 5 times per week for 45 - 90 minutes).
    • Prioritize neuromuscular recovery, don't over-train.
    • Get adequate (quality) sleep.
    • Consume more healthy fats (monounsaturated and saturated fats from sources like grass-fed red meat, pasture-raised eggs, fatty fish, organic full-fat dairy, coconut fat, avocados, cocoa butter, certain nuts and seeds, etc.).
    • Increase your cholesterol intake through properly-sourced whole foods. Cholesterol is the building block of all steroid hormones, including testosterone.
    • Control stress. Do what you have to do to keep it under control (things like meditation, yoga, nature walks, relaxing music, massage/reflexology sessions, adaptogenic herbs, etc.).
    • Chronically elevated cortisol levels disrupt the HPT (hypothalamus-pituitary-thyroid) axis and deplete your body of the very resources it needs to produce androgens, including testosterone.
    • Eat enough quality calories (not all calories are the same), and avoid large caloric deficits.
    • Eat adequate amounts of each macronutrient (protein, carbs, fats). All of them are important in their own way and serve specific functions.
    Beneficial supplements:
    • Ashwagandha
    • Maca
    • Taurine
    • L-Carnitine (increases androgen receptor density)
    • Creatine
    • Tongkat ali
    • Fadogia agrestis
    • Black ginger
    • Pine pollen (contains natural androgens)
    • Boron (increases free testosterone)
    • DIM (natural anti-estrogen)

I hate the fact they focus on the social aspect of it all... Number one thing is increased pollution with endocrine disrupting plastics and chemicals. Its such a clear correlation looking at the industrialization over the past 50 years. What that produces is less genetic potential being passed on to next generation who then start with lower baseline levels and so forth. Just look at the faces of actors and athletes, both men and women, over past 50 years. Square jawlines dissapering which is number one sign of higher testosterone levels. And I hate the fact the impact of lower t on women is ignored. Women used to be much tougher and less sensitive again due to higher t levels in their system, they need the proper balance of estrogen and t aswell. In a nutshell it produces much more compliant society. The founder of kellogs invnted cereals to curb men's t levels. Less t, less sex drive, less population. It does all look like giant conspiracy but I am more afraid were are just living in dumb, greedy and pretty inert system so mistakes like this are so hard to correct. Great interview here and conversation. Although I do think Louise is a bit misguided with her belief that high testosterone is associated with higher crime and violence. That is a very dangerous statement that isn't actually based in biology or science but rather an assumption. A common one but false non the less. It has been shown that healthy testosterone levels actually help keep a man more grounded, present and in control of his emotions. These people committing crimes that supposedly have higher testosterone isn't due to their testosterone levels but really lack of healthy maturation into manhood i.e stuck at boyhood psychology as well as likely unprocessed trauma, nutritional deficiencies and more. Perhaps pairing this with high testosterone could lead to more chance of aggressive behavior but it is not the cause. Get a man who has worked through his trauma, matured to manhood and takes care of his health and pair that with healthy levels of testosterone and you will have a far more powerful, caring, kind and loving man. Than you will ever get from a low T, trauma filled, boy psychology based and submissive man.

Solving these issues would likely be from what people consider to be "conservative" e.g. women working less, getting off birth control, reapproaching "traditional" roles, refocusing on building families, etc.
One of the biggest impediments though is we have a political system that has been thriving off of division and atomization. The system wants women working more. They want them chemically altered to not think about having children. The system wants men demoralized and subservient, it wants them to be non-threatening to the state's goals.

That is such an injustice, and while men now rate themselves on those lines in many ways, women make damn sure society as a whole doesnt let men raise their heads past that. And i say that as a woman, wife & mother. Men can have other hobbies, but their essential presence as father, provider, protector, teacher, the idea that he can sacrifice himself in a myriad of ways daily for the betterment of his dependants and grow to be a real king in his own castle in doing so - that has no place today. He is a wallet, or a loser, who happens to be allowed some hobbies, and an equal share of housework. Its an injustice to men. And women.

3:48, the military issue is mainly the medical boards. The Medical Corps and Capita in the UK bin off thousands of applicants per year, for the most insignificant things all the way up to the more extreme reasons. It infuriates me because a lot of the things they screen for, if you get after you start basic, even by one day, you won't lose your career over it, and they will in fact manage your career with it in mind. It's bonkers.
I was told when I applied to the RM in 2013 that I couldn't join til 2016 because of my medical history, and these goal posts narrowed in 2016 and again in 2020 and 2022, so now I can't join at all (I met the criteria for the other tests). I also have it in writing that these boards have no conclusive evidence that their policies are accurate; it's largely pushed down from the military leadership and the government as the UK is a satellite (like the rest of NATO) to the USA, and so we're happy to build a military of nerds to fight with robots whilst the US does the heavy lifting. I agree there are far fewer openly patriotic men, and maybe some of it is to do with low-T, but it is largely due to the entry standards.

    Hi Chris,
Great video! I just wanted to make a quick point in your comment about "soy men" as having lower testosterone, but due to popular misinformation, soy does not affect men's testosterone levels. A recent meta-analysis that will be published in the journal Fertility and Sterility showed that neither soy foods nor isoflavone supplements from soy affect testosterone levels in men. Researchers looked at more than 50 treatment groups from articles in peer-reviewed journals for this meta-analysis. Soy foods contain phytoestrogens, including isoflavones, which have weak estrogen-like qualities.
Other research has shown that soy consumption decreases the risk of some forms of cancer and heart disease.
What does contain real estrogen that causes problems is dairy. Dairy cows are milked after being pregnant for 9 months, so people are ingesting the afterbirth hormones of a 1500-pound animal that just gave birth. Overconsumption of dairy is even highly linked to prostate cancer in men. Also, overconsumption of high saturated fats like meat, dairy, and eggs contributes to lower testosterone.
You mentioned it's been on a decline since the 1950s, which is also when the boom of factory farming started and people started eating more animal products; Obesity has also been on the incline since then as well which has been shown to lower T as well. Check out Dr. Neal Barnard on UA-cam for more info on this if interested.
Another factor could be alcohol consumption, which has been on the rise since then too, which affects the hormones of men and women.
Sorry, that was long! I'm sure there are more reasons why but I just wanted to touch on some points that aren't talked about enough and get the soy myth out of the way.
All the best thanks for the great content!

I blew up my aunt's spot once when i announced she was pregnant at xmas. And between 6-9 months i can sometimes tell what a woman is having, boy or girl. IDK how it works or why, but it does. May think I'm bs-ing here, but i assure you all i am not. A doctor once told me it is quite natural. Almost all animals can do likewise. And humans ARE animals. Even if we forgot. But i do think hormones and pheromones are real and work whether we realize it or not.

I believe it. SENSING more, I did and do... just high intuition and intelligence... actual smell in my case ? No. I am a wolf tho. Always have been, but wounded now. I mean I can kill with looks (not wolf as in furry). anyways, god help us all. Bring on the end.

Reproductive preferences change depending on the social context. During times of physical conflict or hardships the aggressive males are more desirable but during periods of mental conflict and stress the cognitively strategic genes dominate. Not sure if this correlates with the testosterone levels.

People truly don't understand how this is a far bigger problem than pretty much everything else, including climate change, wealth inequalities, etc. Society will destroy itself from within because of the feedback loop of social issues that it will create.

@@forrest123trees It's outside the box stuff like lower average T levels reduce average reaction speeds, which increase car accidents and their severity, which gives legislatures reasons to lower speed limits or otherwise impede transportation, which then slows down commerce, which then reduces tax revenue, etc...
Not saying that exact example will play out, but it's a decent template for the kinds of problems we will see.

She seriously provided a valuable public service by working at a Rape Clinic, but yeah, the problem is now she kinda thinks that any measures taken to prevent certain bad men from doing bad things, might be justified.

I watched the diet my son-in-law thought was acceptable for my grandchildren. At 13 he fixed 1/2 piece of toast and a piece of bacon for each child (twins) the male child was in sports and the female child wanted to be on horses. The female refused to eat certain proteins for breakfast but the brother would. I drove from texas to Illinois and carpooled the kids and got up every morning and had talks with both kids and increased their protein by over 30%. I discussed this extensively with the children and taught the how to make snack food . I was feeding him eggs bacon and only after that he got the orange juice. Orange juice is pure sugar shock . He was sugar sensitive and would block his bowels and i was asked by the ass father not to use the word sugar in the house anymore. He is a sugar addict. Snack snack snack and ice cream. I bought and froze small thin quick ribeye steaks and explained to them that hey had to be bumped up to 3000 good clean calories a day. I had taco bars after school and on and on. In their face you must eat properly . I made homemade yogurt and his bowels unlocked and bowel blockage will ruin a colon permanently. I shipped food and paid for it for them to cook i bought a instant pot so easy to cook one pot meals and carbs were in the diet too of course but no gluten and dairy. (Cheese i gave in but can really block bowels. Do you think my daughter who is a nurse and was working was able to do anything because of her eating disorder the rich no good husband was in charge and likes skinny people he has a problem with larger people. How do you change anyone’s thinking about what is in packaged food-no soy was allowed in ingredients no sugar and they were healthy and well. Colleges outsource and kill our kids on trash food they feed them. I spent 3 weeks in illinois i had to go back to work. Trying to impact 13 year old brains and bodies . Until last year i was still trying to convince my daughter to make bone broth organic and use and drink it and cooked in an outdoor kitchen (gutted kitchen) and went home because of the still bad attitude of the husband . I was getting ill from doing that at an old age. He just started having pains in his abdomen probably diverticulitis went on a cruise and ended up in the ER. Society is trying to outlaw meat, clean food, and make sure that everyone gets where you just described. I buy my meat from a local farmer family that started farming because the husband was critically ill. They have 6 children now and cook and sell their food, meat, everything and they are the picture of health. They bring their food i order to my city once a month and they have thin margins and continue to try and expand their farm. How will people survive with this plan for humanity?????
