Hi Justin. I'm 59 and just took up guitar this last summer. Fingers aren't as nimble as they used to be but I'm getting there. Love your lessons. I'm currently learning "Paint it Black" and can't think of a better song to show my wife I haven't been wasting my time. Whatever song I try to learn down the road I'll definitely be checking your lessons first.
Hi Justin. I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your lessons. It is so cool to be able to play songs that I grew up listening to. I am 70 years young and I have been playing guitar to keep my mind sharp and also because I really like it. I have learned everything from you and Marty on Y/T. I think I have progressed to high beginner level and I know I still have a lot to learn. Best wishes for you in the new year.
Charlie Turnesa you are awesome. Im 14 myself and have a whole world open to me, but the fact that someone your age still plays guitar instead of only sitting on the couch and being old truly inspires me
When I was 25 in 1980 New York City the woman I loved there was murdered by some lunatic stranger. It tore out my heart and my brain. "Paint It, Black" expresses in every line how it felt each day after.
this was one of the first songs that made me fall in love with music aged 11! i'm 20 now and teaching myself guitar and it feels fantastic to be able to play this and make it passably sound like the original ♡ thank you Justin
Justin, you have by far the best Rolling Stones guitar lessons on UA-cam. Thank you for making them and please keep them coming! As Tears Go By and of course (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction would be appreciated.
Just found your channel this week mate, was on the right hand side of the video for Norwegian Wood. One of the best links I've clicked. Cheers for sharing your skills for free dude.
Can't believe it's taken me until now to learn this song, but after the cello performance of it in "Wednesday" I just had to. Justin, your breakdown and treatment of rock classics has been consistently excellent throughout the years. Thanks so much!

Another great lesson illustrating alternate picking. I remember playing this when the song was relatively new. I'm almost 60 now and been playing off and on since I was 8. I love playing and am still learning songs I used to listen to years ago and still do.
I am a one day old guitar player but have been watching videos on the UA-cam for a few weeks. At first I was intimidated by the skilled guitar players opening their videos with flawless riffs of the various songs I desired to learn. It's because of this intimidation that it took me so long to buy strings for the free guitar I was given (it was given to me naked). I have since moved away from this perspective and seen it as more of an inspiration to the things to come. I love your vidoes and look forward to learning from you. You are incredible guitar player. You seem both knowledgeable and passionate about your skill. I don't know if you will ever read this but I didn't want to not thank you, so thanks.
Thank you so much for teaching this song WITHOUT the capo. Though I have several capos, I hate having to pull them out when I’m just playing by myself. Another excellent explanation, as well. Thanks again!
I met this channel while starting to play guitar, the lessons are very good and inspired me to play, cause i can feel im rrally doing a cool sound, i get no tired of praticing with justin's awsome way of speaking english at my headphone :)
Nice & tight turtorial Justin.Pretty much covered it all. Some pretty tricky rhythms and picking patterns.I,ve watched a few turtorials all using a capol, rather not use one or i try not to.But u r usually on point.Thks for what u do.
Why not hybrid pick it?? That way you have the pick already set up for the strumming when it comes to it. Also makes it easier to pick both notes with a up/down motion
Thanks Justin. Your tutorials are the best. I stumbled across this tune the other day after hearing it on a commercial for a video game. I was playing it in Am to start. I was having trouble with the chorus Dm C F C Dm Dm but now its all clear. I'm going to give it a wang translating it to Am then I'll try it the correct way. Thanks.
Nice tutorial. Some explanation/example of the different rhythm section used towards the end of the song might be helpful as well (from about 2:20). It's still a great song & a great 'live' number for any cover band.
Justin, Do you have any vids or photo's of yourself playing in a group/band when you were younger. If you have any stuff like that im'e sure everyone would love to see it.
Hi Justin I just wanted to say thanks for all the videos n lessons, if it wasn't for yourself I would've never learned how to play guitar due to learning difficulties and how you explain things n show us in depth how to play 😊 your awesome n it's brilliant what you've done for so many of us n it helps me everyday with my depression as well, it gives me something to drift into n brings me joy 😊 so a really big thanks to you 😊 also I know you probably get this all the time but if you see fit to teach some Biffy clyro I would love to learn some, theirs absolutely no good teaching videos for them or none I can understand, your my go to teacher as you make learning easier for me than anyone else with my disabilities, honestly thanks so much n I wish you all the best peace out ✌️

I love your lessons and I've learned a lot of songs with the lessons. For me it would be really nice if you would make some lessons about a few more early rolling stones songs like little red rooster or it's all over now.
Nice one Justin. We have been given this song to practice in our guitar lesson at college and this has helped us out; cheers mate! PS Lovin your latest CD! :)
Great lesson! This song is on Rocksmith 2014 and is played with a capo on the second fret like you mention. But there is also another arrangement of the the song in Em without a capo on. Cheers.
Great lesson Justin. I just watched a load of live footage and it was played with this pattern but capo at 2 taking it to Em. One or two had the Sitar rather than a second guitar. Can't sing either key so I have a capo somewhere else. Thanks for this one and all the others
Really enjoy your instructional videos! I had just learned the original riff with the open e and I was going Dm doesn't work here whats going on maybe Dustin knows! Thanks
Hey Justin, I can't believe it's been 3 years since I learned stairway to heaven from your video's already. Thanks for another great lesson. Any chance you'll ever do a lesson for a Doors song ? Thanks a lot for all the great lessons, keep on rocking in the free world.

Where were you when I was 15 playing this up and down the e string?! All those wasted years. As always a brilliant lesson, Justin. Thanks!
I learned it by myself on the e string too hahah, but now I have decided that I wanna learn it the right way, and it's easier than it seemed at first.
The intro riff is 10 times easier with finger picking.
indeed!
try nine times
Where do I find that lesson on your channel?
Why not hybrid pick it?? That way you have the pick already set up for the strumming when it comes to it. Also makes it easier to pick both notes with a up/down motion
