      Thanks MK for all the great content. As i try to stack BTC and see it as the end goal i have many friends that are xrp army. Even though they show me lots of info i look at the token as a lottery ticket for one cycle vs btc as a multi cycle hold. I have such a hard time convincing them of BTC. Even showing them charts at .50c vs btc price over multiple years.

    yep. people think that BTC is volatile. When in fact its value is fixed. Fixed at human-civilization/21million. The standard BTC/USD chart is actually inverse of reality, it is a negative image. It is the USD that goes up and down, as compared to the invariable BTC.

      @@lefthandedscrewdriver3954 Every transaction has a unique identifier, and will have a transaction cost. To get BTC or to sell it or send it somewhere. Your wallet is not one unified amount, like a pail full of water that got in drop by drop, but more like a pail of marbles that never combines into one thing. At some you're going to want to take some of those marbles out(send or spend some bitcoin). If the "marble" is small, you may eventually run into a situation in which it costs more to use that marble than the marble is worth. Think of it like having to spend $2 in fees in order to use your dollar's worth of marbles. It's important to melt all your marbles together into one giant marble so the fees the network charges you to access your BTC become relatively trivial instead of unworkable. You can do that by sending all your small BTC buys into one address inside your wallet. That would be "consolidating your UTXO's."

      I sell bitcoin, but as a sales pitch to friends and relatives. I have not gone all in but DCA about 1 mil sats a day at the moment for self custody. MSTR also comes in handy for whats trapped in retirement accounts.
      I might add that "cycles" are simply statistical representations of probabilities when you don't have the specifics. Out of a hundred children taking the test there is a probability some will under perform because of under lying specifics such as food poisoning , or over perform because their rich uncle came to town and bribed them to study that week.
      bitcoin did not just go through a halving cycle. It put CW to rest , and went through block wars etc.

    What is to stop bitcoin on the main chain from being squeezed out of being used in any transaction as credit derivatives take its place due to the costs associated with moving on the main chain? And then if almost nobody is settling on the main chain why would miners continue to stand ready to solve a hash?
    It generally happens very slowly, but credit and derivatives replace real money. then when the music stops and its clear that the real money cant support the credit claims, leaders will remove real money from the system and then back to fiat.
    If its too costly to interact with bitcoin on chain, although small circles of people will use Lightning, why would anyone hold and use actual bitcoin...other than a few people out of principle? The large institutions that hold your bitcoin and transact over lightning may not have as much bitcoin as claimed (fractional reserve banking) leading the world down the same path as before

    Thank you, Matthew. I don’t quite get the Fed buying treasuries. I understand why they do it but 1) they shouldn’t have to do it 2) does it point to the debasement of our currency 3) does it point to our general bankruptcy?

    • @charlesmiller6281
      @charlesmiller6281 Місяць тому

      @STP134 Do a search, there's many videos about how if the government is just going to print money then print money, don't let the Fed print it and loan it to the government at interest! My favorite is the 8 year old Canadian girl. More recently El Salvador president Nayib Bukele said the same, we pay taxes to support the ILLUSION that we are funding government. In reality the whole thing is a scheme concocted to deceive people into thinking the taxes they pay are funding anything. In fact all the government does is funded by money created from nothing, while all the taxes we pay are grift to the banksters who printed the money. Just convoluted enough nobody can follow or understand it, which is how they got away with it for so long.
      Yes of course this is exactly how currency is debased. The more you print from nothing the less each one is worth.
      Yes of course this results in bankruptcy, because the amounts needed to repay interest don't exist until they are printed, and as the printing gets ever more astronomical eventually the whole thing collapses.

      I would have problems too if I could not figure out who was benefiting from my services. It might imply that no one is if I don't know who they are. That's a curious thing as to why the government cannot figure out who it should tax because McDonald's knows who ordered a #3. Property taxes, rights of way, patents, tolls , airports , docks etc are all very obvious government services that require remuneration. What role does the government have when some number goes up?
      What happened to no direct taxes on labor or no sales taxes on salt and soap?

    • @charlesmiller6281
      @charlesmiller6281 Місяць тому

      You're missing the point. First, because btc is a terrible way to avoid paying tax. Thanks to KYC and chain analysis they can track the bitcoin you bought, and see when you move it (sell). From when they know price. It is a little more complicated than that but bottom line you got it wrong. When it comes to avoiding taxes cash dollars are a whole lot better.
      But the biggest point you're missing, ordinary people don't fund government now! Government is funded by money printed out of nothing and loaned into existence at interest. Ordinary people then are forced to work to repay the interest on the money created from nothing. Ordinary people aren't picking up the slack, they're being fleeced! Bitcoin fixes this.
