Oh gosh, this is filling me with so much nostalgia! I can't even imagine how many hours I've spent on this game, and worked my butt off for the party picture once. It's such an odd game to describe to people, since the description seems repetitive and boring, but it can bring so much calm and joy (when you aren't pressed for pictures lol). Even now I still love playing Harvest Moon, and now Story of Seasons. So excited to unwind and relax for once during HM64 since you're now the one doing all the work :)
I'm so happy you're doing a game that people in general just relax into, like a comfy couch. Low-stress games, I think, are probably more your speed. I'm not saying EASY games, that's different, I'm saying games that run on the Buddhist concept of the Middle Way: not too warm, not too cold, just right.
Ahhhhh yes... the happy memories... I never did any good at this game because so much just isn't explained.. Thanks to you, I now know why I sucked so bad. lol
Hmm, a very painstaking series for you to record I'm sure because of the repetitive nature of Harvest Moon but this was fun to watch. When you first posted it I was like "eh..might be boring" but I enjoyed it. You do a really good job of not just playing games but really _winning_ games. That being said you don't have to be a completionist to get us all to watch but I get that it's kinda just your style of playing and I can appreciate that.
Ahhhh Harvest Moon 64😊. I can feel the nostalgia. It feels weird though to watch a lp so different from what I'm used to do. In comparison, I usually pick up every herbs and berries, even those on top of the mountain and cut everthing too. Once everything is sold (except one for the dog) I go back to get every flowers and give one to each girl, if possible. The extra goes to the favorite one I guess. It might sound weird or mean but I happy that you resetted when the horse got stock. It's frustrating (for the player) when mistakes happen but even more when random things make you play poorly, like being unable to fix the problem without hurting the horse. You're good☺. Keep up. Hug💙
In retrospect, your mountain strategy makes most sense. I get too scared of night time like I have to instantly sleep. But it can definitely wait until the crickets stop.
I always rushed to a greenhouse, and my friend always was everyones favorite person. Just one of the great things about this game is all the different ways you can enjoy it :)
Best game to grind on and to just enjoy. Do your best! Because even If it takes forever, this is one game I will keep on watching until the end. Plus+! You're the only one who I know or ever known attempted this! (That walk through is pages if not a book long)
I keep coming back to watch this playthrough. I'm not sure what it is about THIS series, but it's one of my favorite series of yours and one of my favorite playthroughs (of any game) on UA-cam. Thanks for uploading this EDIT: thank you for liking my comment, GODG. 🥺Feels great knowing I made your day
Now this takes me back to the good old days for sure! If I ever started my own lets play channel this and A Wonderful Life would be high on my list lol
I'm excited to watch this. I started a file today on the Switch and after finding my crops seemingly grown I think I am missing something. This will be a great help.
Late but it is possible to keep the grandma alive, if you never speak to her during summer in 2nd year, after summer ends, the event trigger is gone and never comes up again. That's how I remember it anyway, it has kind of been 15 years since I played.
Very happy that you started doing this game too! This game is very relaxing to watch, despite the tight scheduling. That horse glitch was quite unfortunate, but good that you got that part reset.
So I figured out that if you don't talk to Ellen, Elli's grandmother, after year 1 she doesn't actually die. I was really said the first few times I played through HM 64 because of her death, so I tried doing different things to keep her alive. You'll notice when Ellen dies because she's not rocking in her rocking chair, but if you never talk to her you don't trigger the scene where she dies. As long as you keep that in mind she will stay around for your whole run.
For the Popuri foto you actually don't need her to love you. You can just go to the pond, water any plant 1 time, exit the pond, get back inside, exit and enter again and Popuri will apear and give you her photo. You can save a lot of time by just skipping the whole popurri process. Hope this helps a little. :)
The first year is a grind, and it’s make or break lol. I already screwed up but I’m on easy street enjoying my life being rich. I will start another file soon and try perfect it. When you said everytime you throw something edible you lose happiness 😅my character must be depressed I’m always dropping stuff.
Oh man... sorry for your pain. I think this game would be better remembered if it had more interactivity like some of the events and dialogue suggest. There's a lot that needs tune-up and many ideas left unexplored or not fleshed out enough.
I just kind of wish it had been A Wonderful Life, because that game, for me, is aesthetically glorious, but I digress. This one might be a bit more dynamic. AWL can drag. A lot.
It's not really about looks for me. I think AWL is designed better as a game, with more depth and better quality-of-life changes to UI and such. But it's also the slowest game in the series in every literal sense. Even worse if you play the Special Edition on PS2, where the game runs slower overall than the Gamecube version, but time flies by faster... I'm still really mixed on which version I prefer to play. Special Edition has more content, but making the game even slower while giving you less time each day is a pain.
Now that I think about it, I don't know for emulator but on the 64 version, you could change the view angle on the farm so it wouldn't be diagonal. It was helpful sometimes to find the dog 😅.
Hearing the bad coding in this, Super Robot Wars 64 has equally bad coding. Was it a sign of the times, or coding on the 64 was particularly difficult...
What do you like: 1.HARVESTMOON 64 2.HARVESTMOON FOMT/MFOMT 3.HARVESTMOON BACK TO NATURE 4.HARVESTMOON A WONDERFUL LIFE 5.HARVESTMOON HERO OF LEAF VALLEY 6.HARVESTMOON DS/DS CUTE Just pick a number and write in the comment dont forget the hashtag Ex:#1-HM64 I need your comment so i will know what kind of harvestmoon i will download or install Thx#Survey
This is a direct sequel to the original harvest moon, where tbe character was called jack. His grandsoon carries his name. Then BTN was directed by someone else and changed alot of things including his name.

This game hits my nostalgia so hard

OOOH I think I'll follow along with this walkthrough. It's my first time playing the 64 version, and I want a good ending haha
Really really glad you're finally doing this!!
I'm sure it'll be a great series!

Glad to seeing you doing this, Enjoy!
stardew valley became the harvest moon most ppl wanted i guess, but its cool to see where this type of game came from

I wasn't expecting this so soon. Awesome. :)
Yes, thank you! I just got an N64 again and this was the first game I went out to find. So many things I forgot or never knew. Keep the videos coming.
I keep coming back to watch this playthrough. I'm not sure what it is about THIS series, but it's one of my favorite series of yours and one of my favorite playthroughs (of any game) on UA-cam. Thanks for uploading this

I love this lp so far
Now this takes me back to the good old days for sure! If I ever started my own lets play channel this and A Wonderful Life would be high on my list lol

Grandma doesn’t have to die. You just ignore her when she is out before the new year festival
How do you put thing in your bag so quickly 😮
Man I never Thought I would see gameplay on this ever again
this game is so so nostalgic for me even though I was terrible 😂
I hope it's on N64 switch online
Congratulations 2 years later 🤣 it’s here finally
I'm SO excited!
I just started playing this game again. They need a remaster of it. I thought they would have had one by now!
So I figured out that if you don't talk to Ellen, Elli's grandmother, after year 1 she doesn't actually die. so i came here fresh from watching the newest episode of stardew valley and he mentions this game a couple of times so i wanted to watch
I had the PS1 version as a kid, and never got far. I really need to go back. Such a great soundtrack and vibe.
For the Popuri foto you actually don't need her to love you.

Harvest moon is awesome. Dont worry about this being boring
The first year is a grind, and it’s make or break lol. I already screwed up but I’m on easy street enjoying my life being rich. I will start another file soon and try perfect it. When you said everytime you throw something edible you lose happiness 😅my character must be depressed I’m always dropping stuff.
I didn't realise you played this! I tried the game and couldn't figure it out. It's a lot harder than the gba version which was my first
I played this game for 20 in-game years thinking that at some point Rick would finish the Teleporter or the Sprinkler system would start working.
Oh man... sorry for your pain. I think this game would be better remembered if it had more interactivity like some of the events and dialogue suggest. There's a lot that needs tune-up and many ideas left unexplored or not fleshed out enough.
@@GoodOldDaysGaming If I won the lottery I would throw real actual money at a company to remaster or even outright remake HM64. I loved that game.
I just kind of wish it had been A Wonderful Life, because that game, for me, is aesthetically glorious, but I digress. This one might be a bit more dynamic. AWL can drag. A lot.

so basically HARVEST MOON HAREM RUN LETS GO
Such good memories ❤️

Yeah, you just press L or R, but I just got used to the default angle.
well here is some thing i can recommend sell in the barn or chicken coop no time passes so kinda faster than the outside one and enjoying this is 2020
I like the day length but it would be nice to have a clock on screen
Ellies grandma is ellen from the first game. 😂 Shes the only character from the original game in gba64.
Nice!
There's five girls that you can marry..
-It's tradition!- 😂
Where is part 2 I’m dying over here
It's coming today. I just bumped up all the ones I had scheduled, so they will be more frequent, but not daily.
also u should plant with the middle open from seeds
I remember marrying Karen super early because I got her from white to red heart in a single day with the dog exploit lol
This is the funniest thing ever
Hearing the bad coding in this, Super Robot Wars 64 has equally bad coding. Was it a sign of the times, or coding on the 64 was particularly difficult...
Karen, my first waifu. 😍
Amazing need more ASAP

In a game like Harvest Moon you WANT exploits lol
This was an ad
The characters name is Pete not jack c'mon man
It actually is Jack in this game. The manual refers to him as Jack. It could just be a HM64 thing, how wonky it is. Pete is his name in other games.
This is a direct sequel to the original harvest moon, where tbe character was called jack. His grandsoon carries his name. Then BTN was directed by someone else and changed alot of things including his name.
Hey Bill I'm Bill.
