I just wanna say this really quickly, it was stampy playing ni no kuni that made me want to play it and now years later i have a switch and am currently playing it and using this as a guide when i get stuck. Thank you Stampy!

It’s mad to think it’s been almost 10 years since I watched this series when I was in primary school, and now I’m a fully grown adult playing the game on my switch because of the love I had for this series when I was a child 🥰

I remember watching these videos by Stampy as they dropped when I was 9, I’m now an art student and currently doing a project for this game! I completely forget abt it until every few years it pops in my head and I binge watch all these episodes. Grateful I remembered it now, the class is literally Asian Cinema and I think this game takes the cake for merging cinema and gameplay. Just hope Stampy realizes the huge impact he made on all of us ❤️😽
Nest time you go into a dungeon for a boss fight, make sure to explore the whole dungeon before you go fight and you can get stuff from chests that you can find hidden throughout the dungeons.
Ding Dong Well was where I realized I couldn't avoid the battles and get on with the game, but that the battles are the game.
i remember when i was younger i used to watch you all the time. now that im older i finally got ni no kuni and am playing through it right now. i genuinely got stuck on this because i ran out of mp. i didnt know you could use the iced coffee so thank you for saving me from hours of grinding 👍👍

just started my playthrough years later, i remember watching yours and it being so much fun, can't remember much about the story though, so i know i'm gonna have a blast
After watching this I asked for a P's 3 and the game for Christmas and I got it I also got a stuffed drippy cuddly toy.

A few years too late, but in case anyone else sees this and needs a tip, the jumping Jack skill is actually not quite as useless as advertised. In the field, its pointless, most characters using it in combat is also pointless. All characters jumping movement is equal, and about as quick as normal running. In battle, this means that any familiars with a low movement speed actually moves significantly quicker when jumping. Obviously, the low speed is for competitive balance, and is the main weakness of the more "tankish" familiars, so jumping Jack results in their main downside being a nonfactor. This let's such familiars as Tin Man going from low tier to near gamebreakers.
Speaking of which, a later game familiar named "dinoceros" is designed to be a high tier character, and that's *not* considering this jump exploit, which makes it singlehandedly almost unstoppable otherwise.
Finally, there's a series called "toko" that is this games version of magikarp mixed with a metal slime. As an ally, it levels really, reallllly slowly, but it's stats skyrocket in later levels, and is statistically the most powerful non-dlc familiar at top level. As an enemy, it gives ludicrous amounts of exp, and that is still an understatement. Once the boat is available, it can be farmed with some savescumming (the island also features absurdly high leveled versions of the starter familiars which WILL kill you if you go there as soon as unlocked) for an hour or so, and you'll be overleveled for a significant chunk of the game as a result. The final dungeons feature it's 1st evolved form which gives out several times more exp than the final boss, and even most bonus bosses.

All familiars gain XP even when they don't fight, but the ones that do will get more than the ones that don't.
Yes you can cancel in mid attack, by pressing the (circle) button.
And do some of the side quests when your not filming, because one of the first rewards you can get with your merit stamps is to move quicker when on the world map (makes it a whole lot easier to dodge enimies)

I took about 20 minutes to level the thumblemur, or whatever it's called, so that It was more up to par with the other two characters. It helps wonders, I highly suggest it. Go to the rolling hills and the dark forest to do it. I call him Momo.

Stampy, you should do some more side quests, maybe off camera and when you do that, you could get merit cards which you can then trade in for some awesome rewards. Also, keep feeding your familiars the treats that you get throughout the game to strengthen their "attributes".
Just finally getting this game myself on the switch while I was on sale means that this part is a big help as I got stuck somehow

You have to do the fire bit without any hesitation as fast as you can in the case of the second set of torches.

The little symbol on the right tells u what type they are so moon is good against star,sun is good against moon and star is good against sun.when u try to metamorphose u need a little sort of pill and it has a symbol on it. so if u want to metamorphose a star type u need a sort of pill with a star on.

It just came to me, the fighting system is REALLY reminiscent of Paper Mario 64, isnt it? Different attacks with each helping character, switching between them when they are worn out, and supercharging them. Fascinating, no wonder I really want to play this game, it REALLY REALLY reminds me of Paper Mario! The different towns or areas you can go to, the different types of people in each one and a special character like the tree in the Dark Dark Woods or King Tom. Wow, I like it even more now. I am determined to play this game someday!
Also a quick thought (for people who havent watched the whole series yet like me) is the spying girl at the beginning somehow the ghost as well? Pea said that she had known her for a long time. Interesting idea, could she have magic too? If Drippy did not see her, she could only be revealing herself to whom she chooses. She HAD dissappeared from the window when the ghostly girl was first seen. I love theorizing before I know evereything LOL.
