Excellent ensemble acting! This is my favorite among all those motley WWII-themed sagas from the '60s, that started with the Guns of Navarone. Every start-up should make it mandatory viewing for effective team building. You will learn a lot from the charismatic protagonists of this film. The LSD trip credits are gorgeous and effectively express the cultural upheaval of 1968, when non-conformist heroes were in vogue.

Did anyone notice the Copyright date? It's MCMXLVIII, well that means 1948. What it should have shown was MCMLXVIII which means 1968. And this was the OFFICIAL trailer? What clown let that one through? Oh, by the way, all films at this period were documented with Roman Numerals.
If they ever do, they should follow the book. The real-life brigade members and their exploits were far more interesting than the fictional ones. The only real characters were Mark Clark, Patrick O'Neill (though written far differently for the movie) and Robert Frederick. Some were composites, but most were entirely made up, as was that the American recruits came from the stockades.
Who didn’t love Omar Grecco? He was in the Dirty Dozen as well. RIP Richard Jaeckel.

Great movie, great soundtrack, but the film still could have been better. For one thing, they climbed that mountain at night, and in a rainstorm.
