We had a news about an overseas worker from our country mutilated and chopped into pieces by the family that hired her. It went into headlines that prompted our president to pressure kuwait to deal with the issue of employers witholding visa, and persecute those who abuse their maids.
The mentality of the people there is disgusting, there was a woman there that opposed the idea giving their maid freedom to hold their own visa and time to spend for themselves, saying that it's "unfair". The good thing is that she was shunned by the community because of that, Her career also took a hit for the vile comment

It is sad when so many people don’t show compassion. When you said “If you’re anything like me, this will make your blood boil”. It did. When the woman fell, my eyes went wide and I gaspt in horror. Then I felt the blood boiling moment. When you said she survived, the relief I felt.....I’m glad she survived, and I hope she is doing ok now.

Too many women get trapped into servitude in the Middle East , they are enslaved and oftentimes sexually abused by the families they work for but because they are thousands of miles from home and their embassy/govt gets it cut have the cash from their employment - they have no reason to help these women once they're there. They can become trapped for years, never see their own children and endure what no person should have to endure AND NOT GET PAID? I can see why she jumped!

The fourth one was a hard one for me because I was friends with the guy murdered and I knew the murderer as well. Casey worked at a local comic book store here in Tennessee that I frequented because I play magic the gathering and Avery was a regular magic player at the store who I had become friends with. The post Casey made was a pretty sickening one to read after spending the day with Avery the day he died. That day Casey had talked to me and a group of friends for a while about the shooters from Columbine and how they were spineless and weak for what they did. Then hours later took the life of his best friend and mother. People still don’t understand why he did it, but something that wasn’t mentioned is according to some of his close friends Casey struggled with a heroin problem which could have been a factor into what happened that night. Casey’s selfish actions still haunt a lot of people I know. Avery was one of the most social and outgoing nerds I have ever met and held a special place in the magic the gathering community where I live. Everyone knew him and he knew everyone and he went out of his way to make people feel welcomed and included in the community. He deserved better. Sorry for the ramblings if anyone finds this comment. Edited for correction.

i'm so sorry... it really sux when u have the memory in your mind of what they did and said before doing something that horrible... cuz there is an odd connection. My brothers childhood friend who I myself hung out with we played at his house and he slept over many times. I have 2 memories of him that stick out one is the last time he slept over he was being super gross with his meal showing me his food and it was all stuck on his braces I lost my appetite. Then my final memory of him he was in the car with us and my brother while my mom was dropping him at his house he was telling a story of how a kid on a bike or skateboard rammed into him and they got into a little argument. He said "I let him live" in a joking kind of way. Well later in the 90s when he was older he was living in this cool house next to the freeway and tree farm down the street from us and down the street from where he used to live. Unidentified guys came in his house with guns, and he himself had a gun, and he reached for it and they shot him. It was a burglary gone bad. But the fact that his last words I remember "I let him live" the burglars did not let him live but instead took his life. They never caught who did it either and it wasn't in the papers cuz I searched for it. It almost seemed to be covered up because we had "the safest town in america" thing which was even said on the news at one point. Keep in mind this is also the same town of a shooting at our BORDERLINE next to the freeway 23. I hadn't been there in years and a crazy gunman shot it up and killed a retired officer I had even met. Its over-populated now (the city) but in the 60s it was a farm town, then turned into something way different. The population is big now. Anyway the weird connection to death is always eerie. Cuz many people I have known had said or did things that had an ironic connection to how they die.

@To DEATH, Bro! I wouldn't go that far, but you should avoid them. Also, criminal organizations have different values and rules. Some are very strict, others are near amoral and savage beasts like your stereotypical raider/marauder...
PS: I have relatives who are involved in smuggling and racketeering. They are however on the petty crime side of things and they simply can't be called organized... My grandfather did the same, but he still risked his life to cross the iron curtain and do stupid things like chasing after skirts. The second generation (from my other family branch, thus not related) were a little more organized and set up a company to camouflage their real job. They however, are very much cowards. They won't even trade joints out of fear that someone else would punish them for getting into their business. The only thing that they sell are antibiotics that are produced off the records by a proper company and they sell it to peasants without license and the cover is animal food.
My relatives are Austrian and Austria isn't really known as a hot spot for crime and even less for organized crime.

The story of the maid made my blood boiled, what a bunch of despicable human beings! I was so relieved to know she survived 😢
EDIT: this comment is old but seing some comments just now on my Lazy marathon. When I said "despicable human beings", I was talking about being able to do such horrible things as to laugh at someone's imminent (potential) death and threating a human as they are property. I was NOT referring to the ethnicity or religion of the person filming, those are not of my concern. Actions speak WAY louder than skin color and religion.
And because a lot of countries have a bad history regarding slavery and/or colonization, doesn't mean we can't talk about what is happening in other places now. No one would have the "right" to talk about anything if we were to apply that kind of mentality.

“Hold on to me! Hold on to me!” she said while dangling one handed from the window.
“Oh, crazy. Come here,” said her boss as she stepped away from the window with her camera recording everything.
Amazingly she survived due to the metal awning, but many others in this type of situation sadly do not. The housemaid in this video suffered a broken arm along with a bloody nose and ear. The maid was reportedly attempting to escape the deplorable living conditions.
Her “fall” was reported to the authorities as a suicide attempt. This is a common way to circumvent any culpability for these “employers”. Her boss (owner is a better word) was sentenced to a year and eight months for unlawfully filming another person.
There were (are?) next to no laws protecting those in Kuwait and many other countries who have come to the country to work. Those who come to work for others as domestic servants find themselves being treated as slaves. They are forced to work seven days a week and nearly 24 hours a day. People attempt to flee in this way all too often. I think this incident occurred in 2017, but please don’t quote me on it. But, hey! The house certainly is spotless.

Lawhorn, so an interesting fact about that is that I had friends who knew him. he was actually a fairly regular buyer from a friend of mine sold adderal and pain pills. They were the ones who were pretty shooken up about it because the way they described him was basically saying he was as harmless as mouse. it still shows up occasionally when we all meet just talk about the past.

I had a friend who posted to Facebook; “standing next to a train so cool”
Moments later a second train coming the opposite direction hit and killed her and the two girls she was with. I still get chills and an upset stomach every time I think about it.

For post 5: I was in cyprus studying between 2017-2019 and mid 2019 my friend asked if i wanted to go check out the acid lakes. I was like sure so we drove out of Nicosia and when we got there we were suddenly surrounded by cops asking what we were doing. We let them know we were foreigners on exchange and they told us to leave. A few days later all the articles came out about the body found in the lake. Was super creepy at the time. On a side note, i really liked the country for the most part but being Australian i always found the amount of people who had south east asian maids a bit weird..

Thank you Lazy for Covering the Kuwait Housemaid story... It's prevalent in many middle eastern countries, countless accounts of abuse of foreign workers in homes. I am glad she survived.

    And for the joliee one...

This is slightly random, but can we give props to the travel vlogger for deleting her video on the red lake? I feel like a lot of influencers nowadays woulda kept the video up bc of how many views it'd bring in for creep factor, so it's just nice to know that she had enough respect for the dead to take it down.
