I normally find horror storytellers cringey but you are completely on point. Great stories and excellent use of tone and atmosphere.
Glad you dig the content, Brain.
Lazy Masquerade I see what you did there!
I call my friend Brian "Brain" all the time.
Lol, it wasn't intentional, I'm just a dumbass xD
It's cool XD, personally I think you're great dude keep it up!!
The scariest thing about the Dorothy Scott case is that the caller only stopped once her remains were discovered, so what if they never found her body? He never would’ve stopped calling...
*That’s such a haunting thought*

@Starr Child they can find you even using distant relative's dna so yeah the future isn't looking too good for serial killers
@Starr Child
It’s more likely that these cold case killers are being caught not because they themselves have voluntarily submitted DNA but because their relatives have done so. For example Auntie Mary is tracing her ancestors and because the killer shares some of her DNA the possibilities are narrowed to the killer being related to Auntie Mary.
@@dabbz89 They think they're ahead of all of us, yet some of us will never get caught.
UPDATE: Q Lazzarus was found in 2018. Fortunately, she’s alive and well. She became a bus driver.
it's good to know at least one of these stories have a pleasant answer :)
I’m sure she won a big lawsuit against the bus company. She had music out in 93 too
She was actually in the movie signing the song
Why let the royalties just sit there?
i thought it said ‘unfortunately’-
Somerton Beach Man was recently identified as a bloke called Carl Webb an electrical engineer from Melbourne. He was trying to rekindle the flame with an ex and was visiting Adelaide for that reason. The tools were work tools for instrumentation repairs and such. T. Keane was his brother in law and he may have borrowed his clothes to look good. The letters that look like a code are likely form guides for horse racing. My guess is his ex rejected him, he blew all his cash at the races and then topped himself.
Look at the newspaper. It says that the Somerton Man's (Charles Webbs) funeral was conducted by an E.J WEBBS!!! were they related?? Did they know all along who he was? Or is it a coincidence. It's so weird.
@@tahiranaveen No Carl Webb
@@nathrogers7 I mean, look at who the funeral was conducted by back then. The same "Webb" family?

#1 Dorothy Scott's son gave an update to the case back in 2017 to a reporter doing a write-up on the cold case. It appears there was a suspect by the name of Mike Butler who among other things was: mentally unstable, involved in a cult, lived in the Santiago Mountains, had a sister who worked at the Swinger's Psych Shop that Dorothy worked and the shop owner at the time used Dorothy's father (Jacob) as a handy man and so Dorothy's parents' phone number would be known to the employees. Butler also worked at an auto shop within sight of Swinger's during the timeframe of the case. To get from Santiago Mountains to Swinger's, you would have to intersect Santa Ana Canyon Road where Scott's remains were found.

Dorothy’s coworkers may have known the Stalker and would’ve recognized him hence the High Beams used to blind them as he approached
Yes I think it was someone that Dorothy knew...that's more plausible.
Damn that’s crazy, I used to live 15 miles from Santa Ana, CA
he could have also wanted them just not to have a description
Cops all but said the 2 friends were involved. The other girl went because she was jealous of her and the guy being alone. And it's suspected he faked the spider bite, maybe pinch or pricked himself to get her alone with them 2
That’s shitty logic, the guy obviously just didn’t want them to see what he looked like just because he did that dosent mean they knew him
The first story both infuriates and saddens me.
For real
somebody told me
it was a pretty good prank
prank?
Agreed. It's a shame she didn't get someone to watch her, and that she didn't ensure her co-workers went with her when she went to get the car.
The spider bite is strange too. Maybe it's not something we should read into too much, but I almost wonder if the two events aren't connected somehow. Like the killer set up the situation. But that's probably ridiculous, since how could he even know Dorothy would go with her coworker because she's worried
I like how Neil Gaiman worked the 1916 sleeping sickness epidemic into The Sandman. I didn't know about the epidemic before I read Sandman, and was shocked when I found out it was a real thing.

@DINGASDOER but, you can
I'm almost certain they could. As to why they didn't, who knows...
denitoo92 Know I’m late, but he did mention they were left at odd hours. Maybe they did put CCTV around, but they were just never caught by it

Hey, Lazy. Even if you don't see this, you are my FAVORITE horror story teller. Your voice is on point to make it terrifying. ❤

Btw are you thinking of doing any obsessed stalker stories again soon? They're my favourite.

@@jendoi Well you can't kill someone's hope. That's all they had to go on.
How do we know they didn't? We have no idea how they personally handled every one of those hundreds of calls
The stalker in the first story is truly psychopathic, not just to stalk and murder someone, but to continue to torment the family for four years afterward! Get a hobby, dude! (inb4: a BETTER hobby). I don't believe in karma, but I hope something bad happened to him.
In the sleepy sickness story, how did those people eat? It sounds like they were too incapacitated to even eat or drink anything.
In the Tamam Shud story, I saw another YT video a few days ago that talked about it, and I think that video said the copy of the book (by Omar Kayyam) was found in the dead guy's car, not someone else's car. Unless I misheard...
Yea id say probably a feeding tube...
It was left in someone else’s car.
Hey, I was in Anaheim in 1980. I had plenty of things to do, lots of hobbies, so you need to just watch what you're saying, man.
I hope that some DNA evidence can be found and ancestral DNA done in the Dorothy Scott Case. Few unsolved cases have made me feel that angry. I pray to God for Providence to intervene in this one and bring a miracle : resolution. What her mom had to go through and what a strong person she must have been. Whoever did that to Dorothy was no better than a turd slid into a skidmark on a downtown sidewalk .

I’ve studied anthropology AND Neolithic sociology (yes that’s a real thing 😉); after reading about and studying the Herxheim Neolithic mass grave pit discovery, here’s my crazy theory, which no one will probably find interesting or leave any comments to 😂😉 nevertheless, here it is:
Those cannibals ate the victims practically ALIVE. It was the blood letting that killed them. If That’s what killed them, that would explain why there is no physical evidence of what killed them. Blood letting would not have shown up in the bones like blunt trauma etc., would. They probably traveled to abduct “food” from surrounding villages, which would explain why it’s a mix of people from different places, had their “dinner” then dumped the bones in the mass grave pit. I came to this hypothetical conclusion as it’s evident the bodies were NOT buried in accordance with reverent grave sites and customs found in other areas that date to the Neolithic period. The bones in Herxheim were mixed with dog bones (which showed evidence that they ate them too), and haphazardly piled in the pit site. This is definitely not indicative of the reverent Neolithic burial custom for kinsman and family. This leads me to believe these victims were seen as nothing more than food, the same as the dogs that their bones were mixed with. Think about it; when you eat that t-bone steak 🥩 and get to the bone, you don’t go out in your back yard and bury it in a coffin after thoughtfully and in accordance with custom in The positioning of the bone (the way the bones or body was positioned, in what direction etc., was often very important in the cultural aspects of kinsmen burial), after wrapping the t-bone in Burial Yarns, with their in-tact talismans and religious artifice, then proceed to give it a proper funeral, right? If you do, well I can’t help you. But the t-bone would end up in a garbage pit somewhere in a landfill; a disposal pit for the remains of ones food. 🤔 Similar cannibal pit sites have been found in the Congo and Borneo, and I believe also in Fiji. In the Congo there are still practicing cannibals, who worship ancient gods, and throw their bones in a pit, in remote places in the Congo’s dense jungle. So based on this, I believe It’s much more in line with being a disposal pit for the cannibals “food” remains than an actual ritualistic burial site. As far as the smashed relics found in the pit, I think I have the most likely theory on why they were smashed: Anything the victims had on them in regards to talismans or religious relics etc, were smashed out of superstition that vengeance would follow in revenge for the talisman holders’ deaths. You have to remember that seven thousand years ago superstition etc. was a very real way of life. They feared and worshipped numerous God’s and demigods, and they could differ from tribe colonization to tribe colonization. The cannibal tribe would have been very wary of anything resembling a talisman or relic staying in tact with the dead out of fear that the person’s god/gods would exact revenge in some way. So, those are my theories. If you read this far, thank you for your time. It really makes the most sense to me that this is the likely scenarios of how it all went down. Please respond with your own thoughts and theories. Would love to read them!
I dont have my own theory, but damn i learned a crap ton and this is really fascinating to read :0
It's odd, but I was thinking just about the same thing as you. I admittedly haven't studied human cannibalism much nor the burial practices of, for want of a better word, ancient human cultures, but it reminded me of certain predatory animals which bring prey back to their dens, eat, and then leave the bones behind or discard what they don't want. For example, there have been instances of prehistoric animal dens found with areas nearby filled with the bones of their prey, including skulls of young hominids (like that of the Taung Child which may have been killed by an eagle of some sort).
Given most human cultures to my knowledge often had very particular funeral rites and methods, the idea of a mass pit full of cracked and gnawed bones jelled less with a place they might bury their dead and more with either straight up cannibalism culture or some sort of sacrificial/cannibalism combination. Your mentioning of known pits of the same sort seems, to me, to strengthen the theory, and I definitely agree about your theory on the smashed talismans and relics. It could've been a fear of retribution from rival gods, a way to show the cannibals' own gods their piety, or perhaps some way of obscuring the identities of their victims - to deny them a peaceful entrance into the afterlife or to avoid a more earthly sort of retribution.
On a side note from someone intrigued with learning about the past, would you have any recommendations for books, articles, etc to view and learn from on anthropology and neolithic sociology? I always hate blindly picking sources only to find them lacking or subpar.
Fascinating theory, especially regarding the smashed religious relics found in the pit. Thanks for sharing. You should send your theory to them...
God damn I think you might be on to something........
I really enjoyed your theory
A very good hypothesis. Well done!
That sleepy sickness, I can't even, what a terrible way to go through their one and only life
That encephalitis outbreak was awful. Many of the victims were young adults, when they woke briefly with Dr Sacks, they were senior citizens. Their friends and families completely changed or gone, their world unrecognizable. Thank goodness covid does cause this kind of catatonic state.

@@gamingambydeafgamer9722 dude just leave her alone. Shes been through enough
Lazy, here is an unsolved mystery for you. It's suspenseful, but also strange and creepy.
In 1997, Admiral Boorda, the US Navy Chief of Naval Operations, was all over the news for committing suicide by shooting himself in the chest. The US Navy relayed all details to the American media that Boorda killed himself "because of 2 valor medal pins he did not actually earn". But any US Veteran, like myself, does not believe this lame excuse for 1 minute!
You see, Adm Boorda was the first US Navy CNO in history who started out enlisted, never studied at Annapolis, was Jewish, and very intelligent in helping the US Navy develop more advanced research for hi-tech warfare. Rumor was that he had ideas to make many changes in the US Navy to make sailors much more educated, have more professional attitude, and a more competitive effort so veterans would have a better chance after leaving the military.
And it seems that his fellow flag officers at the Pentagon, most from the brotherhood of Annapolis or West Point, did NOT approve of his idealism. And all the old Cold War jerks wanted things to remain "as they were". Hence, Adm Boorda was supposedly blackmailed into suicide, to be suddenly replaced with a new Annapolis-grad to be CNO. Yet sadly, this is all speculation as there is no evidence to prove it. Boorda's suicide remains a controversial mystery to this day!
This is something Lazy should cover.

i have a theory on Dorothy Scotts stalker/murderer. Did anyone know whom or where the father of her child/children was? Because she said she knew his voice but couldnt quite place it. What if it were him? Food for thought.
Angel Honey I thought that. Could make sense; maybe some sort of psychopathic jealousy.
Angel Honey It is odd that there doesn't seem to be mention of him anywhere. Perhaps he died well before her disappearance?

A lot of Q's music was released early this year, as was the video for Goodbye Horses, which gave me some hope that she'd come forward She didn't, BUT her label is/was so small that the release likely HAD to have her stamp of approval. I was told 7 years or so ago by someone from the band Psyche that she was still living in NYC, but who knows now? She apparently cherishes her privacy, no-showed a concert Psyche invited her to in 2008 or so after promising she'd come. (The details may be off, this dialogue was long ago) I wish she'd come forward, I'm a big fan. I even adopted the stage name Lazarus as a tribute.

about the guy on the beach: high-heeled pointed shoes, bomb calves? cross-dresser anyone? that might sadly be a motive for murder.... might also explain why no one came forward to identify him (they would put themselves at risk of being outed) and why someone left flowers.... if we go with the theory that someone else had gone through his suitcase those people mightve well removed any evidence hinting at that sort of life (out of shame)

That first one was exactly what was happening to me, at least once a week and for two years, the voice on the phone kept saying " watch you back, I can strike at anytime and no one will find your body, you won't know when nor where" it was only when I called my mum to ask her to have a word with my nan and stop her from doing it, did it cease, weird thing is, she never knew I knew who it was, what a weird family I come from.! First time here, subbed
Herxheim is much less mysterious than it's made out to be here, actually. Around 450 human skulls were found in total and it's been postulated that burials took place there over the course of about 50 years during which three major battles occured in the wider region. It's a very interesting gravesite for multiple reasons and the cannibalism thing is very much considered probable as well, but it's really neither shocking nor disturbing at all.
Have you ever looked into north east Texas. This area has had a lot of weird events.
phydeauxddog like what i live there.
Jacob Woolf We live in an area that has had a lot of famous people for one plus we have had things like big foot. If you look you can find the same stories I have.
There is something similar to the sleeping one now. A girl when she was a teen felt really tired one day and decided to take a nap. She didn't wake up for months. She would be fine for a few weeks and then suddenly bang sleep coma again. It happened until she was 20 I think the article said.
Ugh the Somerton man is one of the most interesting and eerie cases I’ve ever heard of.
I read a pretty in-depth article on this case several years ago and it haunts me to this day - for a while I was pretty close to obsession; reading everything I could find on the case. I still can't quite explain why this one grabbed me so hard. On top of everything else it is, it's really sad.
They may have solved it. They put his DNA into an ancestry database, found a match, and believe they have worked the family tree backwards. He might be a man named Carl “Charles” Webb. The man has no death certificate. He also had a brother in law named Thomas Keane, which would explain the clothes with initials T. Keane on them. Webb was also a amateur poet, which is why he would have had that book with him.
So we're just gonns ignore the fact that cold hearted people ignored the man sleeping dead in the beach, people..., smh.
Nah that’s Australia mate you see someone passed out on the beach or street you think he’s alright he just he just had to much beer
Aye, because passed out from too much beer never results in death
It's so sad to realize that he was still alive and trying to signal for help but no one came to his rescue. Maybe he desperately crawled to the beach hoping someone will notice him and save his life. The fact that he was moving his hands shows that he was conscious during his last hours alive and he counted each second leading to his death - all alone :(

I'll look into it, thanks for letting me know!
Illidan Stormrage The Betrayer I think brain activity is different
Angry Bidoof the sleeping disease is called Kling Jacobs it affects both boys and girls and there is a great either 20 20 or dateline piece on this affliction.
Tamra Townsend i got 20$ that says CBD topicals wouldve helped
Tamra Townsend I saw that story about that boy my mind state is kinda sleepisfortheweak 😜 sleepingforaweek 💤 🛏
love you lazy, you make my anxiety calm down.
Do you ever think that the killers he talks about could be watching this video? That first story is terrifying, especially with those phonecalls.
I assumed one of them would be the story of D.B. Cooper... but I'm glad you didn't because it's overdone.
Great! Keep them coming! :D you're still my absolute favorite of these narrators!
VERY interesting stories. I have always been interested in the one about the guy found on the beach. I'm glad you included that one. I've done as much reading as I could on the person and am always left wondering still.

my exact thought when I heard it!
Not even close to the same
I wonder if the note found in the man's secret pocket is the key to unlocking the code found in the book 🤔
I looked at the comments for "Goodbye Horses" Shit was hilarious
best one was
""Goodbye Horses" Sounds like a brony suicide note"
Sayaka Miki the song “Goodbye Horses?”
_OOF_
@@jacksonguillory8114 Good Lord I forgot this comment existed, I gotta rewatch the video for context now
YES! I get so hyped when you upload!
Thanks for making my day 100% better! 😊
This showed up in my feed today and though for whatever reason, I knew I had listened to/seen it before, I gave it another listen for no particular reason. I realized while watching though that (if my memory serves me correctly) this was the first “Lazy...” vid I’d ever seen and I’ve been a thankful (both for cluelessly clicking on the video and for the excellent content of this channel) ever since. I realize this is a pointless comment to anyone besides myself and hopefully the content creator of this channel if in the off chance he does see this, I simply wanted to say thank you for the hours of entertaining content you have provided myself and other viewers throughout the years. Sincerely, an appreciative subscriber - thank you. 🙏🏼
The unknown man was obviously a spy probably a Soviet spy. Considering the time period.
That's what I think as well. This video doesn't tell you everything about the case, probably because it would take too long. i think he went to see his lover, who's the person that gave him the book. She has been interviewed and it's been determined that she knew more than she let on. I think it was unrequited love and he took poison and killed himself. She was already married at the time so obviously she didn't reciprocate his feelings.
@@nocheesie If it's the woman I think you are referring to , she definitely knew something. But it was a different time , and the police "respected her wish for privacy" .
2020 Update on Beach Man:
A professor in south Australia and journalist appealed to have the body exhumed for reinvestigation which will be conducted this year. The reasoning is because the professor believes he is married to his granddaughter. His theory is that the cause of death was actually suicide due to a failed romance. When police investigated this theory they discovered the son of the suspected lover had similar distinctive features to the man. The update can be found on ABC news.

Awakenings was such a superb movie, and was this video
Andrew Ryan Stevens Oliver Saks wrote many books, one in particular “The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat” is truly fascinating, documents many strange cases off people he treated who were afflicted with bizarre neurological disorders.
this was a great one Lazy! I would love to hear the solved one. You are really on a level all by yourself in the story telling jonra. excellence!
Q Lazzarus (Dianne Luckey) died July 19, 2022. She left behind a husband and two children. She didn't disappear mysteriously, she simply withdrew from the music industry. She took a job as a bus driver for a period of time. Judging by the date of her death, I would bet COVID had something to do with it.
These were some very cool stories. I always find these kind of unsolved mysteries of the past morbidly interesting, I'd love to hear more, especially with the way you tell them. A+ fave spooky story channel on UA-cam.
Very interesting video! Definitely love this kinds of stuff, Tamun Shud is a favorite mystery of mine.
I like listening to scary story's and story times while I'm working out. It keeps my mind busy and entertained while my body pushes itself. 😼🏃🏼
Yea same!!
You definitely have a wonderful way of telling a good tale! Subscribed!
You always have stories I haven’t heard yet, it’s awesome.
Thanks Lazy, I really needed this👌👌
I'd LOVE to see more traumatising and nightmare-fuelled stories like these. You keep at it Lazy ;)
I've been watching your videos since yesterday when I first came across your channel. It is a good! one! I love it.
whoopppee i love a good mystery!! i look forward to these vids so much, theres quite a few i look forward to but you sir are by far my fave youtube narrator
Loved these - and yes do a solved one as well :)
The second story prooves how weak mankind is, we like to act like we are all powerfull but out of nowhere a virus can self evolve and become mortal to the entire species and whipe us before we can come up with a cure
Diogo Gomes you're weak I'm weak were all weak
Sounds like government testing of a chemical weapon.
Diogo Gomes were just sperm cells
James AKA DetroitSkills
what came first? the sperm, or the man?
Diogo Gomes it was probably some type of experiment. Like the Tuskegee experiment
Love all your stuff Lazy, but I honestly love your mystery series the most. There just aren't enough :€
I really like your mysteries series, unsolved or solved. I've been watching all of them. They'd be good on actual television too.
Thank you for this my friend. Looks up the story of the man that found the "M shaped cave" out in Nevada. Some have said he may have committed suicide. But a one point in time he was a fellow UA-camr. Either way, a pretty interesting circumstance.
I live in Oklahoma :O I know Woodward
Rebecca Bjorklund me too !!!
You should really do more unsolved mysteries videos! They're seriously so intriguing...
i really liked this video, please do more of this kind!
Thanks. Hope you make more of this type. It's great.
Q was found. She’s a bus driver in Brooklyn.
Lazy you're an epic narrator dude! You inspired me to narrate as well ^.^ My first vid i listened to of yours was the Japanese urban legends and the the 4chan stories, since I've been hooked! Over a year later...
Hey, Lazy, I think it would be really interesting if you talked about the "Lead Masks" case.
Keep up the great work!
The first time I watched a Lazy Masquerade horror story I got way into it, and when the video ended and that gif or video thing of that devil masked guy came up in his outro I nearly jumped out of my chair D:
If the sleepy sickness thing sounds familiar to you, it comes up in the first issue of Neil Gaiman's Sandman
Yeahhhhh lmaooo thanks for the throwback😂 that’s the one where dream fights dr fate for the ruby and tben he gets his powers back and cures it
Q Lazzarus was found in 2015, she was working as a bus driver in Staten Island.
In August 2019, filmmaker Eva Aridjis met Q Lazzarus after getting picked up in her car service in NYC, and the two started working on a documentary about Q Lazzarus (Diane Luckey's) life, called _Goodbye Horses: The Many Lives of Q Lazzarus,_ which is set to release next year in 2023.
However, sadly, she has passed away from an unknown illness this summer, in July 19, 2022. I'm at least happy that she got her documentation before she would've permanently disappeared into the void forever.
RIP Diane Luckey
4 am and can't sleep. Need these stories. Thanks
