Steve absolutely slaughters that bass line. It's the seedy core of the whole thing and it is magnificent on the record and even more magnificent live. RIP Smackey.
I saw Pulp last night here in Oslo. While listening to this song, I got a strong feeling that made me cry without me being able to stop. It was a marvelous experience. Thanks Jarvis
I got the "End of the Line" string bonus track and mixed both tracks together EXACTLY how they dropped into the song and so this pleases me. As well as Jarvis miming things with the mic which made me genuinely laugh.
Quand on entend ce magnifique morceau et qu'on voit ce qu on nous propose aujourd'hui (ed sheeran..et consor) on est obligé de jouer les vieux cons et de dire :" c etait mieux avant"

Everytime you hear that first string goosebumps, beautifully with shades of darkness. Cannot wait till they come back next year
There not coming
@@patlanicihuatlThey will never go away. Their music is always coming back
This song is both skin-crawlingly icky yet beautifully theatrical at the same time. A contrast Jarvis masters as a lyricist.
"it seems I saw you in some teenage wet dream" is probably one of the best line ever in the pop lyrics' history!
@@continuumist"I like your get up"
@@continuumist But that's not the lyric
This is Jarvis. This is Pulp. This is most definitely Hardcore ❤
I don't know if there's anything in this world I wouldn't do for Jarvis Cocker

Go figure 😅
The 2023 live version is the best yet!

Pulp’s greatest song at London’s greatest venue.
I saw Pulp last night here in Oslo. While listening to this song, I got a strong feeling that made me cry without me being able to stop. It was a marvelous experience. Thanks Jarvis
I still think this should have been a James Bond song!
Yessssssssssssssssssss!
I love that Jarvis allows himself to express in any way possible. I’ll keep this in mind when I feel social anxiety 😅❤
One of the best songs ever written!
You haven't heard one hundredth of all the songs ever written, have you.

Amazing
Jarv is crack, que grande, Pulp es lo más elegante junto a Suede del pop rock británico.
Living what you sing. Great interpretation, great singer. Also, invulnerability to disgrace, is badass. I worship.
What happened to him?
What a performance!
What a great Version of the Song. Love it...
This, this is the end of the line

PS Do you think the couple (quaffing at the side of the stage) swooning at J's thrusting at 7:24ish get what the song is about? 🙄
Drummer's on fire
No mention of Richard Hawley up there? Come on folks!
Sheffield finest…
