This video was so helpful I have to do a big project on Mitosis and Meiosis and I didn't quite understand Meiosis but now I understand I am homeschooled also so my resources are sometimes very limited.
This is the best explanation of meiosis. Very detailed😃 Several other videos were confusing and did not make sense. Thank you for offering this great video.
Thank you! I had already learned meiosis and felt good about it until this genetics class that I'm taking now where the wording of it all made me think I was wrong. Thanks for providing easy clarity.
very helpful because its my viva voice tomorrow and I don't know anything about meiosis before watching this video.thank u so much for making this awesome video
Meiosis happens during sexual reproduction to make sex cells aka: gametes. Mitosis is for asexual reproduction and is a continuous process that happens in every cell of our body. both are cell division hope this helps :)
I suggest that you add descriptions down to the video as you are explaining, because some of us are not familiar with the rate of the voice over. Thank you
Great video and audio. Just a couple of points for students to note. First, the narrator shies away from calling the products of meiosis I haploid even though she clearly and correctly states that diploid cells have two copies of every chromosome and that haploid cells have one copy of every chromosome. If you are asked when cells first become haploid, the answer is after meiosis I. She does call the products of meiosis II haploid, and I'm concerned that students will interpret that to mean that those cells are the first haploid cells to be created by meiosis. Second, she states that the products of meiosis are gametes. For most sexually reproducing organisms, the products of meiosis have to undergo significant additional changes to become a gamete. For example, the products of meiosis in male animals are spherical cells but those cells then elongate significantly before they become mature sperm.
As I begin to do research on down syndrome, and as I do understand that down syndrome is caused by a random error in cell division that results in the presence of an extra copy of chromosome 21, I am driven to a possible solution that this can be averted or overturned by a change in the acid or alkaline levels during the growth in the womb. Each of the 23 chromosome must have a slight difference in chemical structure by analysis, and by associated stages of growth, should be able to be treated as to configure and maintain normal health values in all the variations. If the blood test does not exist then one must be created by which the fetus can be tested and treated. This would be crucial to diagnose and treat many of the prebirth diseases. Thank You!
Well explained . Highly recommended video as it has beautiful animations and the explanation is also simple . An opnion to the video maker is that is you could includes the 5 stages in prophase 1 then it would be even more simple to understand . Other than this the video is a very good one for understanding the basics of meiosis
I don’t even take biology why am I watching this at 3am how did I end up here
😂😂😂😂😂😂😅😂
idk, courosity.
This comment got me balling dude XD
Whattt😂
Its 3 20 right now accurate af 😂
Animations are much more better than even 10 days of lessons
And I felt it here!!!!!
Thank you 👍🏻
Yu won't be able to understand it in such a pure way ,if yu didn't leant this before in class or somewhere 😊😊😊😊😊
maybe better than what my teacher taught in a week
Definitely better than how my teacher taught it
You only understood video because of the foundation your teacher taught you.
+jack smack....absolutely right...
animation makes it much easier to visualize and understand in a way you can remember
same XD
AHHH THE CROSSOVER ANIMATION WAS SO HELPFUL
Would have been better if you could explain them categorically:
Leptotene
Zygotene
Pachytene
Diplotene
Diakinesis
That is what i was looking for 🤦🏻♀️
