    Lying on the ground is a better way to practice grabs. When you do grabs you are bringing your board to you and not the other way.

      this is a late reply but knowing that helped me a TON while learning grabs

      Grant Wood Todd Richards Park & Pipe (and possibly Snowboard Addiction) suggest splitting the difference... You bring your knees up, as well as reach down.
      Don't take my word for it, though. As the snowboardprocamp guy :-D

    • @JetCityProd
      @JetCityProd 9 років тому

      Yeah its a happy medium but I grew up transition skateboarding and its a good concept

    • @1Flyingfist
      @1Flyingfist 9 років тому

      Grant Wood its strange how that works. I asked a guy how he was ollie-ing into his 1s and 3s. He said he just did it automatically because he was a skateboarder and that was the only way that he knew.
      I learnt by popping off both feet. Maybe there's no right or wrong way, but now that I'm trying to ollie or nollie into buttering tricks, I'm struggling
      :-/

      +1Flyingfist Skated most of my childhood and had the same problem at first. I would throw all my weight into my ollie and be off center during my spin causing it to cork out. I have since corrected this but for sure felt the struggle getting rid of some of those old skate habits.

    love the channel. my issue is that i can do all these things static on a surface thats non-slip (mat, carpet, etc.). The game changes significantly when im 1) moving and 2) on slipper snow that can be uneven. Suddenly my presses are not as smooth and 180s become more shaky. thoughts?

    Thanks for this video ! Practicing in my garage right now with some blankets !
    I do have trouble getting the same height for my ollie inside than on the mountain, i hope this is normal ?

    When do you use the pop? The Ollie where you don't spring off either end of the board. Do you use this on slanted jumps? You know those jumps outside the park that tend to throw people sideways (me sometimes). I feel like I always Ollie of jumps because it provides more stability in the air (excluding those crooked jumps). Am I making sense? Lol when do I pop?

    1st thing I'm doing next season is getting my goofy stance down.

    • @SnowboardProCamp
      @SnowboardProCamp  10 років тому

      Ben I had problems riding Burton boots. There was a ridge in two different pairs that would dig into my ankle and give me blisters. I switched to 32 boots a few years ago and love them! I'm on my third pair of 32 Team 2 boots and would recommend trying a pair on!

    Hello,
    What board are you using and how soft it is in scale from 1 to 10? Sorry if you have been asked this some time previously.
    Thanks!

    • @SnowboardProCamp
      @SnowboardProCamp  10 років тому +3

      churchmanas My board is a burton custom flying v. Because of the flying v reverse camber shape it feels very soft, but still has pop in places. I would say a 3 out of 10.

    Yo Kevin, thanks for the tutorials man. I have a question. I was thinking on buying a board but can't decide what size should I get, more like not sure what size is right for me. I'm 178 cm tall, I was looking at this DC Focus 153 cm and thinking on picking it up, do you think this would be the right size for me or should I go longer? thanks man, love ur tutorials.

    • @ChimpnSalmon
      @ChimpnSalmon 10 років тому +1

      The weight is more important to determin the length of the board. Check which length matches your weight and choose one thats fits best for you. I for example am 178cm tall and weigh about 65kg. My board is 157cm long.

    • @s.wpensterify
      @s.wpensterify 10 років тому

    I don't have my own Boots yet, only my Board and Bindings. Can i get inside the bindings with just normal streetshoes to train or would that be bad for the material ? (Sorry for the dumb question but my board is at my parents house and i won't be there for the next 3 months so i can't just test this by myself) Got anoterh offtopic question, i hope you don't mind :D
    When is the Best time for buying my own boots? Should i be buying them right befor the seson starts and take some form the last season, or maybe at the end of the season, i am trying to get some nice boots for not-so-much money because i am a poor student :D

    • @pacisthegreatest6510
      @pacisthegreatest6510 8 років тому

      First of all streetshoes in snowboard is dangerous for your ancles.
      Second: i recommend buying shoes before the season, not arter because your feet May grow during the summer.
      Hope this helps!

    I'm used to snowboarding with my right foot in front. I want to learn how to board with my left foot in front so i can do 180's without any problems. Do you guys have tips? (how to practice)

    • @NizBiuBiu
      @NizBiuBiu 10 років тому +4

      Since you already know how to snowboard, so basically when you were switch riding, just make sure you didnt make the common mistakes such as not bending your knees, put your weight on your back feed, etc. Switch ride 1-2 hrs every time when you snowboarding. Increase practicing amount little by little until, your left feet front riding reaches the same level as your left feet.
      Practice some 180s in the middle to make this progress fun.
      Good luck
