In reality we have here in Brazil a lot of different series centralized in black family since 80's, Cosby Show, Diff'rent Strokes, The Fresh Prince, My Wife and Kids, Kenan and Kel, but Everybody hates Chris was a phenomenon because it's so similar the tradicional brazilian poor families.
This too is exactly what captures the eye of many American black folks growing up in the struggle just like Chris
