1984 was a great year for cinema. Ghostbusters, Footloose, Beverly Hills Cop, Karate Kid, Gremlins, Cannonball Run 2, Romancing the Stone, Greystoke, Electric Dreams, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Man! 😢
You forgot The Terminator, Dune, A Nightmare on Elm Street and Police Academy.
BLOCKBUSTERS after BLOCKBUSTERS !!! When going to the MOVIES 🎥 , were affordable for a family of four. 🔥💯🔥💯
Purple Rain lol
Thank you for remembering Greystoke.
Don't forget the best film that year Amadeus
You forgot the biggest one that happened on Dec 20th 1984. It was my birthday.
Eddie Murphy has hardly aged...amazing.
Black don't crack
Blacks dont crack, Greeks dont leak..
His brother Charlie was the exact same... Genetics are off the charts
@@671oneblood Genetics, eating the right stuff, exercising..
Blax dont crack, Greeks dont leak
Eddie has aged so well
You can only say that if he'd actually aged.
Black don't crack baby
Same age as Obama
He got titties.
He brought out the "fuck you, eddie" joke from "Raw" and the guy didn't even catch it. lol
He's problably never seen it.
Well prepared
Hit him with another “Mr. Murphy” afterwards too.
That's because the blokes a lemon.
Probably not even old enough to know.
1984 was WILD. Beverly Hills Cop, Dune, Ghostbusters, THE TERMINATOR, Sixteen Candles, Footloose, Karate Kid, The Never Ending Story, Nightmare on Elm Street, Indiana Jones, Police Academy, Gremlins, Revenge of the Nerds, Red Dawn, Conan the Destoryer, Children of the Corn, Bachelor Party was underrated,
To give it context... 1985 ... Breakfast Club, Back to the Future, Goonies, Commando, Mad Max - so one or two great movies but nothing like 84'
never heard of the last few in your 84 movies list ur just adding cap
@@hassyg4083that’s on you those are good movies. Arnold. Tom Hank’s. Grow up Peter Pan
Don’t forget Splash.
@@hassyg4083 You have to be joking?
The movies from the 80s really had a whole lot of heart and Beverly Hills Cop is certainly up there with the best of that era.
I love it that John Ashton has been back for it too, appreciate the man so much!
I do like how they still respected stallone with the second movie where you can see a poster of Stallone in Billy's apartment. A cool little nod to him.
They even had Stallone's wife at the time (Brigitte Neilson) committing the 'alphabet crimes'.
@@plissken2156 Forgot about her. She was also in Cobra with him too.
That wasn't respect. That was a shot. They were making fun of the fact that Stallone moved on to Cobra, and it bombed.
@@bruce_leon1044it didn’t bomb at all. It had a $25 million budget and made $160 million.
@@bruce_leon1044 There were multiple Stallone posters in Billy's apartment.
40 years since the first film came out 🙈
1:48 "I've put a banana in your tailpipe..."
Imagine Sly saying that WITH a Rayban and a toothpick ! (From 'Cobra')
my banana is your worst nightmare
He'd make it work. Stallone is good at comedy.
What's a Rayban?
@@SpideySensei72 a famous brand of sunglasses
Just one Rayban?
They were Carerras, btw.
Wow this guy has held himself together so well.
Eddie Murphy is the best
I was 15 when the first Beverly Hills Cop came out in 1984... Dear Lord, I am old... 😱
Me too bro
Struth my dude tell me bout it.... Lolz I was just ten and have only just joined the 50 Club this month.
Great interviews, Jake!!!👍 I've great memories of Beverly Hills Cop, classic movie!
I want a cobra 2 and Bruckheimer should produce.
Take all my money!!!!
Cobra 2 and a re-release of Cobra full length with the extra hour of deleted scenes!
@@Nick_B_BadThat's what I want. The original version of "Cobra". They edited it so bad for Cinema.
Lol
@@victordeltoids8609right on!! I heard the original cut was like 3 hours long. I’d love that!!
Me as a kid and fan of Beverly Hills Cop 1 and 2.... when i watched the third i was like 10-12 years old and i said "WTF is this s**t"
The owner of the video rent near us, give me as gift the trilogy because i was renting so many times BV1 and BV2, and i return him the third BV, he laughs a lot
Hollow man is so underrated 😁
The mandatory lazy "underrated" comment in every comment section of anything that has ever been posted on YT
Absolutely! It's the best Invisible Man film ever.
Just saw it last night :)))
I LOVE that movie. LOL.😎😎😎😎
I saw it sometime last year again🔥🔥🔥
Can't Wait to see Beverly Hills Cop 4 Axel Foley On Blu-Ray!!! 😎👍
It’s a Netflix original
@@zackarydecicco3919 Look Again!!
@@GhostbustersReturns and here i still waiting for bluray of Extraction 1 hahahaha
Muppet!
I can’t believe this is not coming out in theaters, and the year of its 40th anniversary no less. I think this would have made a boat load of money in theaters.
Stallone did well with "cobra". that was a pretty good 80's movie. I never knew they originally cast him in Beverly Hills Cop.
A Workprint release of Cobra would be epic a completely different film more brutal.
@@Phil5150Bower The original cut of COBRA was over two hours long, they only cut it down short to compete with TOP GUN at that time, so it could play more runs per day. There have been petitions to release the original cut, to no avail so far.
@@mercatorjubio3804 hopefully Stallone may do something about it, some deleted scenes can be found on UA-cam. I know the filming of Cobra was a difficult one either way a lot of behind the scenes issues with the cast and crew.
Cobra is weird.
Who remembers PORKY’S !!! One of the Greatest Movie 🎥 of all time!!! Especially if you were a young man back in the day 😏😉🙌🏽💪🏽🔥💯😍
I didn't get the "Meat" joke back then.
Kim Cattrall. 👍🏾
I remember Porkys classic comedy the original american Pie
@@mr.o6240 she was stunning for sure
@mr.o6240 Ever see her in Mannequin?
YOU ROCKED THESE INTERVIEWS…great questions..just a little something different! LOVED IT
Your interviews are always something special. Great stuff, Jake
grew up as a kid watching him an here i am 42 still watching!!!! sooo funny best actor of all time
48hrs, another 48hrs, Beverly Hills cop with Eddie's weird laugh, metro watched all these as a kid, classic
the original movie still stands up today 40 years later. it's quality movie
should added Sly in the new movie as the villain.
Oh yea!
Eddie Murphy only aged 10 years since 1984
The Neutron Dance song was my favorite song on Beverly Hills Cop and it was the first one they played this song in. One of my favorites. I never knew the name of it until now. Thanks Mr. Eddie Murphy! This song will be my forever favorite. I love you in all of the films. Beverly Hills Cop, 48 HRS. Coming to America and Coming 2 America and Life with you Mr. Eddie Murphy and Mr. Martin Lawrence, another excellent film. You both were great in it. All of these are great. And Trading Places I think that was a very underrated film. This film teaches people about Wall Street, it teaches people about Etiquette and it teaches people about working with you have. 48 HRS had more language and violence than Beverly Hills Cop, so I didn’t watch it because I was younger and wasn’t ready for it but when I got older and we happen to have Cinemax and it came on another Cinemax channel in the afternoon, I snuck and watched it and I really enjoyed it. That fight you had with Nick Nolte as Reggie Hammond and him as Detective Jack Cates was comedy gold. I laughed so hard when I saw this fight. It gets me even until this day and every time. Super Hilarious! I have been a fan of yours for years. All of these movies were my childhood. And I going to be honest with you, I loved all three Beverly Hills Cop films. Me and Mom used watch these all the time. When the third Beverly Hills Cop was released in theaters, we watched it twice and enjoyed it, let alone, when it came to cable, I watched it every single time it came on and loved it every time. You, Mr. Eddie Murphy got me through childhood and through High School with these great films. And uh-oh, I gotta another great film I loved you in, The Nutty Professor and The Nutty Professor 2: The Klumps. Another one of my favorites and Whoa, what’s that other one, Metro, you played A hostage Negotiator and policeman. Loved that one too. There is no end to your talents. Looking forward to Beverly Hills Cop 4: Axel F. Thanks very much for your contributions to all of these great films and the parts they played in my life. Thanks, Mr. Eddie Murphy! Love You. Hope you have more and more success. And I hope you get to continue spending time with your family as well.
You just triggered some core memories for me that I had forgotten. I was too lil to see them in cinema but we would BHC with our dad when we were old enough, yes on VHS so thank you for this interview. Amazing job.
1984 was the greatest year in pop culture ever.

plus Hulk Hogan beats the Iron Sheik for the Heavyweight championship and launches the WWF into overdrive.
84,86 an 1999 ... These years pumped out what we all love today😢
The Axel Foley Theme Is Awesome With Upgrade's to it!! 😎👍
It’s dope without them too
you know why Eddie Murphy has aged so well? it's because he doesn't "Party All the Time" in fact he doesn't party at all. Laughter will always keep you young.
So many fantastic and iconic movies from this wonderful movie star...where to start. Thanks Eddie for all the amazing movies over the decades.
Jake love the energy from your interviews man.
”Call me Eddie!” ”Absolutely Mr. Murphy!”
You called him Mr Murphy again at the end haha
Not gonna fall for the banana in the tailpipe, classic line😮😂
Look man... I ain't gonna fall for no banana in my tailpipe.
See it comes more naturally. You've been hanging around this dude for too long.
GREAT QUESTIONS!
Ghostbusters, Beverly Hills Cop & Stallone are some of my favourite things!
Good job on the Beverly Hills Cop III question! I actually do like that movie.
Eddie is an excellent person. Love this guy. Nice of him to actually look into the camera during the interview.
Is from "Coming to America" that famous hello. Anyways, Eddie, you're loved and cherished forever! ❤ Thank you for the joys you brought! Thank you for this interview!
Eddie is going to nail this new Beverly Hills Cop movie.
Great interviews!!
its so cute how Eddie keeps looking at the camera to include the invisible fans.
that is a good interview, better then the others I saw.
Beverly Hills cop movies are classic man! Love that they are making a new one
Nothing but love for Eddie and the whole cast. But especially Eddie, he was my hero when I was a kid and watching Beverly Hills Cop.
Very hood interviewer, good questions and perfect rhythm.
Footloose 2 ~ Electric Boogaloo. I'm here for it!
Eddie Murphy = Winston Zedmore, love it
These were some great questions and seems like the actors appreciated being given interestihg questions
i have bevely hills cop 2 sound track on caset tape dont remeber where i left it but i still have it i listend to that alot when i was a teenager(late 90s)
He has so much respect for Eddie, he forgot he told him to stop calling him, Mr. Murphy.
i can not wait to watch it
Outstanding Interview
As an 80s movie fan how in the hell did you not bring up midnight run with John Ashton!!!!!!?????
Jake does the best interviews.
48 hrs, is a classic movie 🎬 😮😂
If I ever saw Reinhold out in public I'd yell , " hey captain clip on " 😂😂😂😂
Always loved Eddie! No one has made me laugh in movies more than Eddie has! God bless you Eddie!!
Kevin Bacon tried to do a Tremors series? That would've been great
He did do it. It was released in 2003. One series. It was pretty good, as I remember.
Looked other day on prime how many rip offs there has been!!. Shocked. Tremors 6!!
Jake asks the most original and interesting question.
My good friend Israel Juarbe was the actor who put the banana in the tailpipe. We both also grew up on the Lower East Side of Manhattan with the amazing Luis Guzman. We all remain good friends today.
Dude you have the best intervievs
This is one of the best interviewers and best set of questions I have seen in a very very long time.
I used to have a painting business. It's interesting, I painted Murphy and Stallone's homes in Beverly Park, and no one mentions that they used to be neighbors.
I love Eddie Murphy!!! A huge influence on my comedic self. Murphy, Carlin, Pryor, Reynolds, Carrey, a strange brew of influence but an excellent one!
Comedians know what words are funnier than others. Banana is a funny word. Banana in your tailpipe is both funny and raw. Home run.
Beverly hills cop as a legendary film even today
Not really....it was never talked about until this new one came to be.
@@bobabooey4537 the movie had a platinum selling soundtrack album
This was a cool interview.
"I'm your worst nightmare: a banana in the tailpipe."
This was insightful. I did not realize Sylvester Stallone could have been in Eddie Murphy’s role instead.
I would of actually gone to a movie theater this year just to see Beverly hills Cop Axel f, now I find out it's on Netflix.
They all seem so nice. Really like Kevin Bacon.
I've been watching some recent interviews and was feeling like Eddie was just getting through them and seemed tired and no energy for them but this one he seems really open and enthusiastic
So weird for me now, I've been a massive fan of his since I was 10 or 11 when a mate of mine and I got his parents to rent "Raw" and "Delirious" and we watched them all weekend. It got to the point where we could quote so much of his stand up, his lines in movies and so on. His voice became part of our lingo and we're Australian, ffs. Then when I got a little older and moved to Perth, I moved in the same circles as Paige Butcher, (his partner now) had mutual friends etc. Very random degrees of separation thing...No doubt a lot of Perthians know her but Eddie was such a massive part of my childhood that it still seems a little crazy.
Great Interview - Eddie Murphy 💯 / Beverly Hills Cop 💯
I feel like Beverly Hills Cops 4 deserves a theatrical release instead of Netflix. Especially with the franchise being a worldwide Box Office Success and it being the 40th Anniversary since the First movie.
aww poor eddie, even tho he looks 43 he thinks he should act like hes actually 63. dont eddie! age is just a number! and btw how good is this interviewer/journalist! i really enjoyed this segment
If a button could put me back in 1984 I'd be in tears pushing it.
The hair fight is for LIFE as long as our beautiful textures differ it’s a painful fight to style such BEAUTIFUL crown!!😅😍🥰
Need that Mysterious Skin sequel
Eddie Murphy and Kevin bacon don’t age !!
"You send that many men after Axel, don't forget one thing: a good supply of bananas."
If Eddie can be in Beverly Hills cop, Wesley can be in blade. That simple
If i can look the same as Eddie a 63 well i will be bless! Legend!
Netflix blew it with not allowing it in theaters..this movie needs to be in theaters
Eddie Murphy is a LEGEND
Cobra was also great…loved it👌
8:19 The Terminator also came out in 1984
Lots of great movies came out in 1984. Don’t forget Splash with Tom Hanks and Darryl Hannah.
I love Beverly Hills cop. I have all three movies. And I'm waiting to see Axel Foley. Just got to wait until it comes out on Netflix. And thank God it's on Netflix.
Eddie is Back! 👏
Eddie is the man love his personality humbles and his humour his moves loved them all another Beverly Hills cop fantastic yess!!❤
Hilarious you added the Beverly Hills Cop logo in post 😂 instead of printing it with the backdrop
Hardly hilarious?
my first reference was watching Kasey top 10 countdown on a Saturday morning and say say was on the charts I would have been 8 yrs....and have been a fan ever since first to but dangerous and history in y country we knew the words to every song on every album...and they have got me true good and bad time.....who is it and whatever happens....when everything is going wrong they dont care about us
