They need to do another run of the Cobra. Fix the possible malfunctions they’ve been known to have, but leave the overall feel of that amp the same. I’d get one
Years ago, I visited a buddy in his rehearsal studio who was recording demo tracks direct thru some processor. He’s like ‘this isn’t a bad tone, is it?’. But it was a bad tone. The guy had an iso booth, a 1960 cab, a sm7b and, yes, a Framus Cobra all laying around. We threw those items together and couldn’t get a bad sound. Cool ass amp for sure.
I just went and listened to "Rose of Sharyn" and I could not hear a definitive difference. I'm not totally surprised by this though, I've never had a great "ear," I've been playing guitar since I was 12 and I still can't tune a guitar by ear to save my life.
He said the “last song tracked” referring to their schedule in the studio not the order of the songs on the record. Rose of Sharyn was one of the last couple songs recorded on the album and originally wasn’t even going to be on the album.
As I always understood it, they are shitty in the reliability department overall. Great tones from some of the bands I like have used the Framus and they are beautiful and brutal.
just went back and listened and i can't hear a difference, even through headphones. you must have very good ears. i have a theory that any dual amp tone will sound good.
Adam and Joel were both using 85’s together for a while there and then they started to switch back to 81’s around 2007 or so. The way it was described to me by Joel is they’d both try 81 or 85 per guitar (since they’re quick connects) and keep what ever sounded best. It’s interesting because Joel and Adam had matching Angelus guitars (different colors but spec’d identical) and Adam’s just sounded better with an 81 and Joel’s with an 85. Weird right ?
As Daylight Dies is one of the best album in metalcore history. Every song is banger, but my favorite song is Fixaton of Darkness from The End of Heartache's album
Killswitch, as I lay dying, bullet for my valentine, and parkway drive are my metalcore big four. No hate to anyone with a different opinion but I love em. They sculpted me as a metal head born in 95'
Well that's fuggin cool hahaha. I got the Marshall MG100 HDFX series half stack and I can dial in most of the tones from that album, As daylight dies too.
How can I trust what he is saying when Rose of Sharyn is the 4th track on the ablum. The last track is “Hope Is” And how about using a picture of the vocalist that recorded the album.
He said “last song tracked” because when Killswitch was in the studio the last song they recorded was Rose of Sharyn, it’s just the way the schedule worked out. I know this to be true because I asked Adam myself and the video is on my channel. 👍
That’s weird because it’s been said, and documented that As I Lay Dying are the forefathers and The Kings of Metalcore. P.S. I love Killswitch Engage more though.🫡🤘🤘
As I lay dying is a great metalcore band but they’re not the originators. Bands like overcast and aftershock were basically the originals. And when those two bands both broke up they formed Killswitch engage. 👍
I must have played that album , hundreds of times .
I never noticed that change of tone .
The only thing i noticed is the video version they messed up howards vocals
Another fun fact: If you listen closely in "The End of Heartache" you can hear the click track bleeding through to the final recording.
Now that you mention that, I can’t unhear it
Wow I noticed that click when I was isolating guitar
In My Curse at the beginning of the song, we can ear something that sounds like a creaking chair
i thought i was the only one that notice that it drove me crazy you can hear it in the chorus
I love these. It’s cool to hear the backstory behind the recording of these amazing albums.
Rose Of Sharyn definitely sticks out. Now I know more as to why!
Alive or Just Breathing was so ground breaking.
Its a shame not everyone was around for it
Heartache is everyones fav
Yeah people see more soft cleans as metalcore than to what Jesse actually did. I like all of jesses vocals more
@@69skatermike absolutely me too
He had more pain and emotion to his vocals rather than just big booming cleans
@@simonize251 disarm the dissent was better than anything else kse has released past end of heartache anyways
@@69skatermikeAGREED!
Just Barely Breathing is my jam!!!

Mine too. Alive and just breathing is awesome

I absolutely love my Framus Dragon! I owned the Cobra as well but always thought it was a little to “tinny” and thin sounding compared to the Dragon.
I wish they reamped the album to that tone. I definitely prefer it.
Rose of Sharyn is not the last track on The End oh Heartache. “Hope Is…” is.
Probably because it was the last song recorded for the album.
But...but... Glenn Fricker says amps don't matter, only speakers do.
They are great a good band they all make them selfs sound perfect when playing
As daylight dies is my favourite tbh musically, lyrically ect... but still bad ass band🤘
Framus sound so good
Nice GMT
The very last song for the end of heartache is track 12: - hope is.
Rose of sharyn is track 4
He said the “last song tracked” referring to their schedule in the studio not the order of the songs on the record. Rose of Sharyn was one of the last couple songs recorded on the album and originally wasn’t even going to be on the album.
Man I love this kind of videos, keep em coming please
Coooool. I can’t wait for this next album.
I like all of their albums
I never even knew that Framus made amps so this was cool to know in general
They also make cabinets
@@Iv.T. Oh cool

The tone is a bit more aggressive
I didn’t know Burt Kreischer liked metalcore. Hell yeah!
Rose of sharyn is my favorite song from them!
I always liked that Adam used an EMG 81, while Joel used an 85.. which was part of what inspired me to have an 81/85 "hybrid" bridge pickup made.
Adam and Joel were both using 85’s together for a while there and then they started to switch back to 81’s around 2007 or so. Better put some respect on Andy Sneap name for that album too.
Why’s everyone try to pretend the Album
Alive or Just Breathing doesn’t exist?
And to that I say, that's okay 😊 👍
I’ve always wondered this as well!
As Daylight Dies is one of the best album in metalcore history. Every song is banger, but my favorite song is Fixaton of Darkness from The End of Heartache's album
ALIVE OR JUST BREATHING still the best album
Great story Fluff
Always loved Rose of Sharyn...It always stuck out... maybe this is partially why
Killswitch, as I lay dying, bullet for my valentine, and parkway drive are my metalcore big four. No hate to anyone with a different opinion but I love em. They sculpted me as a metal head born in 95'

This just got you a sub, my brother.

Pretty sure that song single-handedly sold Cobra’s for years to come
KSE is my favourite band
Ooh don’t you dare negate the late 90’s shift towards metalcore.
Also. Super cool!
Nice one. What is this amp that isn't the 5150?
The only on that sounds different to me is when darkness falls
Alive Or Just Breathing is the best album
Wow. Interesting. Had no idea.
okay but how would it sound if the amp hadn`t stopped working? good idea for a video maybe
No way thats sick
They use kempers. Ow but even b4 their tone was always topnotch
Same with spit it out on slipknot's debut album, no idea why the guitar tones sound so bad on that track
I would argue that I didn’t share my password with anyone my will shared it with them. I can’t share anything once I’ve passed
I always hear a click track in the chorus of the end of heartache track. Am I crazy?
Nope, you’re not crazy. It’s there.
Thank you for the confirmation 👍
can't find those dragons anymore. It's like after covid literally everything disappeared on the used market.
We all have the DIs for Rose, Fluff.
Killswich- Metallica as i lay dying- Megadeth bullet for my Valentine- slayer Trivium- anthrax in my opinion
Forefathers of metalcore as we know it today are Poison The Well. Period.
I’ve never seen that cover
broken heart EAR
Rose of Sharyn is probably my favorite song on that album!
its track #4
Lol i didn't even notice
🤘🤘
I thought it was "hope is..."
You're talking about the alternative cover 4 track record and not 12 track.
He said “last song tracked” because when Killswitch was in the studio the last song they recorded was Rose of Sharyn, it’s just the way the schedule worked out. I know this to be true because I asked Adam myself and the video is on my channel. 👍
Should’ve just used a 5150 all the way through. That amp is plenty
I like your videos bro but can we please hear the song?
So I can get a copyright strike for every post? Nah.
They couldn't come up with a tech to fix it? Or maybe just get another 5150? Aint like theyre hard to find.
“The” Rose of Sharyn is absolutely not the last song wtf
Don't tell Glenn that the amps sound different.
Shhhhhh, tone is in the speakuuuuurs 😂😂
@@JohnWikuit mostly is👌🏻👌🏻
Speakers will give you the biggest change in your tone. Everything is subtleties.
That’s not the last song tho
🤷🏻♂️
That wasn't very interesting at all.
#teamhoward
I would say Poison the Well is the forefathers of metalcore
At The Gates brought a lot of the metal core riffs we love today.
You should try to make your own music.
they sounded like a worse version of at the gates...
There is no worse or better, just different. This is music, not football.
That’s weird because it’s been said, and documented that As I Lay Dying are the forefathers and The Kings of Metalcore.
