These guys embody what "metal" guitarists should be these days. Respectable, articulate, knowledgeable, humble, and down to earth. Some rockers have an attitude. Like they are so special, or they don't use that "theory crap." Or "it's all about being heavy or dark..." Hell with that. We have seen heavy, there is alot of it. How about melodic, emotional, memorable? These guys certainly now carry the "guitar god" torch that In Flames lit back in the day.
Thank you so much for doing this most bands wont its so cool to watch you guys play and its a great way to learn these are hard timings no doubt and wicked chord progressions :-)
Hello, first i would like to say that im a HUGE Fan and i think u guy's are awesome it's a huge opportunity to have guitarists like you in the metal world, it's also nice to see u share with the world your talents it's fun playing that song anyway i'll always listen to this band, play their music This Is Abolution :) Hope seeing Howard Jones comin back on tour with u toghether ur awesome and u make wicked music
@matthewk7777 Look into some all tube amps for some awsome METAL tones. A mesa dual rec, peavey 5150, and if you got the cash maybe a Framus cobra or Splawn amp. They use a custom Parker Fly and a Caparison Dellinger guitar with EMG 85's in the bridge position pickup. I think they boost the amps with a overdrive pedal, maybe a Maxon od or an Ibanez tube screamer. Hope this helps!
Yeah exactly. I've got a Chapman ML1, there was only like 500 made and i've since sanded the matt black paint off to reveal the dark wood underneath and swapped out the pickups for a camo coloured Bareknuckle Warpig and a pair of DiMarzzios, i know there's not going to another like it in the world. It's a great feeling of uniqueness.
for amps joel uses mesa triple recs, splawn nitros, framus cobras guitars are caparison with emg 81 and emg singles some with 85s in the neck, and for pedals maxon overdrive, kinda like a maxon version of the ibanez tube screamer hope this helps ;)
@lovecowboy On Wikipedia it means that both are using an 5150 but also many others. I think they made special guitars because of their style and playabillity and you can also tune an amp to a better quality.
prechorus and bridge two are my favourites, as two guitars a properly utilised. I like it when bands actually use two guitars, rather then having the two guitars playing the same thing. these guys have awesome tone
its actually his signature series Parker. check out the specs on it, it's a pretty sweet axe. I want his Caprison that he used to use though; that thing was so sweet
@KaneIsRaw13 While it was an EMG 85 in the bridge, for a period of time it was two Dual Blade pickups, wired in parallel. Sorry, letting my unnecessary knowledge of guitar jargon get the best of me.
I agree, but carbon fiber fret boards that never wear down?? it just sounds so appealing. Have you seen Deron Miller's Parker? It's pretty cool looking with the big CKY logo plastered across the front of it. If i had a spare £1500 i'd get one.
They're tone is close to perfect . Anybody know what amps, pedals etc. they use? I want that fat tone Joel has has but I can't get my hands on it, I have trouble finding it.
@hngaify Yeah he had to change do to problems on his neck back and shoulder. All due to the weight of the Caparisons on his neck, Great tone like that involves a lot of weight for sustain and well yeah it hit him, but he still makes that parker sound like the devil's cries which is effing amazing
If you are wondering about guitars they use Adam D = Parker Fly Adam D signature model 3200$ Parker Adam D signature dragonfly 4000$ Joel Strongzel = Deliner/Tat/Angus 2000-2500$ both look and sound cool but parkers are much lighter and much nicer to play, the caparisons are like cooler les pauls
I can't believe he gets such great tone from his Parker. My Parker never sounded that hot. Mine sounds more like thin and ball-less. For heavy music I play my Les Paul!!
@xXNoxesXx I read that they use either a Framus Cobra or Dragon... but it does sound quite similar to a 5150 as you say...but considering they use caparison guitars ( which isn't a common make ) perhaps they wouldn't use an amp which is as common as the 5150....I dunno though lol! just guessing really....but i love their tone so much, especially Adam's
@13uddha1993 plus adam uses them cuz it doesnt put a strain on his back. obviously you probably know hes had quite a few back surgerys. he used to use capparisons but theyre too heavy for him,
@BreakItDown 5150I have a spider at the moment. Its only 15w though and sounds terrible. Think im going to get a pod 2.0 for my birthday in feb and have a play around with that.

their tones are fucking incredible
It doesn't matter if a song is easy-sounding or hard. If it sounds good, we listen to it.
I could listen to this all day.
why don't you?
This is such a fun song to play. My band mates are so sick of hearing it because I play it at least 10 times when we rehearse.
this is what makes a good musician kids..composition, song writing, unique riffs, etc. and elephant noises and rockin the hobo look (joel)
Chillswitch Engage.
LOVE THE TONE!
That pre-chorus is so well-written, it gives me chills!
Been playing this by ear for a couple years, got a few things wrong. Thanks for this:) such a good song, great riffage/chords as per 🖤
Hey thanks for finding it after all these years and glad it helped!!
I love their sound, their guitars are also very cool.
A very intersting duo. Killswitch Engage deserves more attention. I am from Germany and I love this band. I hope they will come again on tour here.
man i dont care what anybody says, they write some of the coolest yet simplest riffs in metal soooooo much fun to play on guitar!
their tone is godly
Such a nice heavy tone.
Thank you so much for doing this most bands wont its so cool to watch you guys play and its a great way to learn these are hard timings no doubt and wicked chord progressions :-)
the way they sound together is what makes KSE what it is . . total complement of a sound . . awesome . .!
god these guys are one the best bands out that do an amazing job of collaborating lead and rhythm metal guitars. keep fuckin rockin killswitch!
adam and joel are one of the greatest guitarist pairs of all time
The synchronization these two have with melody writing complement each other all these years.
#BUFFALO
#NEWYORK
This is beautiful. Love the comradery.
I get what you mean, you can just tell that they are meant to play together.
Plus,the sound is amazing.Even distorted,its clear.
I love it.
The cut time just means that it's the same initial tempo but it's been "cut" in half, the drums really emphasize the cutness of it.

Dang @1:16 Joel's tone literally sounds like some sort of engine running xD
Joel is such a chill guy man Adam is funny Justin the really calm guy mike point at people a nod guy and Howard the serious kinda guy
Can we take one second and appreciate the fact that Adam's humor has just the perfect timing ? Lmao
are u kiddin, some of the best riffs ever
Still in great shape guys :p nice, going to see ya december 13th :D! keep up the good work, all your songs rule

tone of the gods!!!!!

something that rare in a guitar world video... Good tone! they have it.
@lovecowboy On Wikipedia it means that both are using an 5150 but also many others. I think they made special guitars because of their style and playabillity and you can also tune an amp to a better quality.

its actually his signature series Parker. check out the specs on it, it's a pretty sweet axe. I want his Caprison that he used to use though; that thing was so sweet
that tone is beast
He was the producer for one of their albums
@ESPsandEmgs i think splawn nitros. they use those now and most likely an od808 and noise suppressor.
@floppledong actually the guitar in this video that he is using is a custom parker
wow this tone is way better than on the album
@cjs342006 if you get the line 6 spider 4 75 watt amp, it comes with presets that match both adam and joel's tone really well
I think they look awesome... they play AMAZING best fretboard i have ever played and they weigh practically nothing... great guitars
The greatests SCORCHING riffs i've ever heard
Que banda tan genial tienen riff muy espectaculares, lastima la calidad del vídeo, pero la verdad aprendí mucho...sigan así chicos..🤟
sounds just like the recording the tone and everything
Killswitch Engage is the best band ever
Awesome Sound...! Its Insane
Adam D. is playing a Parker Fly and Joel is playing a Caparison Dellinger.
@KaneIsRaw13
While it was an EMG 85 in the bridge, for a period of time it was two Dual Blade pickups, wired in parallel.
Sorry, letting my unnecessary knowledge of guitar jargon get the best of me.
Adam used a roadster at one point, and ive heard that Joel used a stiletto but im not sure, and the both use maxon od808 overdrive
I agree, but carbon fiber fret boards that never wear down?? it just sounds so appealing. Have you seen Deron Miller's Parker? It's pretty cool looking with the big CKY logo plastered across the front of it. If i had a spare £1500 i'd get one.

lol LOVE the face Adam makes during the pick slide at 4:10 lol
true! how did you see the nitros because they aren't visible on stage
@hngaify Yeah he had to change do to problems on his neck back and shoulder. All due to the weight of the Caparisons on his neck, Great tone like that involves a lot of weight for sustain and well yeah it hit him, but he still makes that parker sound like the devil's cries which is effing amazing
@nategKsE613
Parker guitars, he got it originally because of his back problems, its a much lighter guitar than his caparison
@PoetryEmotion94 upwards of 1.5 mm.You need it to be thick for that fast chugging they're doing,
Incredible tone. DO WANT
some of those parts that they played sound awesome slowed down like the intro and Joel's clean thingy you know when they slowed them down
If you are wondering about guitars they use
Adam D = Parker Fly Adam D signature model 3200$
Parker Adam D signature dragonfly 4000$
Joel Strongzel = Deliner/Tat/Angus 2000-2500$
both look and sound cool but parkers are much lighter and much nicer to play, the caparisons are like cooler les pauls
does anyody know what kind of mesa's they use? and if they use any overdrive pedels?
@7Hvy7Metal7
its a Parker and the model is Fly
I can't believe he gets such great tone from his Parker. My Parker never sounded that hot. Mine sounds more like thin and ball-less. For heavy music I play my Les Paul!!
+PsycOtic ReacTion Maybe is the pickups (EMG).
I love Joel's tone.
@sumthinodd81
the REAL amps that they play (live/studio) are mesa boogie dual rectifiers, which sound wayyy better by the way
@bromvall
It's a Fly mojo I believe?
Adams tone is great here, notes that punch your ears
ya its so satisfying to watch Adam play the "verse 1" riff
LOL @ Adam's pickslide, love the facial expression haha
they seem to be well in sinc with the harmonies, plus adams guitar is sick
What I want to know is how people remember what to play :,( my brain doesn't work
@xXNoxesXx I read that they use either a Framus Cobra or Dragon... but it does sound quite similar to a 5150 as you say...but considering they use caparison guitars ( which isn't a common make ) perhaps they wouldn't use an amp which is as common as the 5150....I dunno though lol! just guessing really....but i love their tone so much, especially Adam's
@13uddha1993 plus adam uses them cuz it doesnt put a strain on his back. obviously you probably know hes had quite a few back surgerys. he used to use capparisons but theyre too heavy for him,
They use Caparison guitars, although Adam has a Parker Fly here, if that helps.
Adam makes it seem so effortless.
It's crazy how synchronized they are
These guys are a fuckin riot!!!...love KSE
@pjl1979 I think the reason for adam to use that guitar is beacause its a lightweight and he got some problems with his back.
i luv adams headstock it is class
I don't mind the shape to be honest, but i guess that's the playability and tone of it saying to me that it really is great.
what does joey do when hes doing that horn sound?
@hngaify yeah it's his signature guitar by parker :-D
Some one please tell me how the hell to get that tone or one similar.
it honestly sounds so damn cool slow
I haven't seen someone playing a parker fly in ages. that company still around?
yeah, that's really interesting to see the way pro compose music.
adams' guitar is so sick!
goood DAMN they are tight
@BreakItDown 5150I have a spider at the moment. Its only 15w though and sounds terrible. Think im going to get a pod 2.0 for my birthday in feb and have a play around with that.
@matthewk7777 line 6 amps and emg pickups!
seacrch it on wikipedia i`m pretty sure it says about guitars and amps
The Parker guitar sounds so fucking good I wish I knew what gear they used and the are also really funny
i like how there tones mix together, a fat one and a high one. lol
lol these demos were recorded with line 6 pods.
Drop C \m/ only tuning i play in
@Fraeg yeah, for sure!
KSE uses crazy boutique amps, and are switching all the time. I don't even know what they're using now.
Registered Version tabs ? damn i would kill for it :P
@1016Freedom1016 a caparison dellinger with emgs i guess
