    I'm a financial advisor & I would say cold calling is becoming less viable in my industry because many advisors are leaning more towards content marketing and other strategies.

    I’m a sales rep too! I work in a different industry but the grind is very similar! I have to say I don’t find myself having to make too many cold calls… I think I would hate that but sometimes you have to. Appreciate this content and your work ethic! :)

    I’m in technology sales and I despise cold calling. I do 150 calls per week to directors and VPs and I’ve had 3 pick ups in the last 2 weeks!

    Cold calling ain't dead. I think it's more of a matter of how you're going to lead generate anyways to being them but also how much you want to do to go back through the leads that have gone cold or are frozen leads as I like to call some of them. Of course I think all leads fall into various different buckets on the spectrum of their lead score but as you foster them and nurture them they can take different avenues and routes on that spectrum but once they go cold and then freeze it never hurts to circle back to some of them with just a check-in.

    I work in the multifamily business. I lease apartments and when I pick up the phone to reach out to a prospect I am told that people aren't picking up the phone. So just the fact that I call them already sets me apart from my competitors.

    Cold calling is definitely less prevalent in my CPM/FP&A industry for extremely large businesses. Really have to find a way that you are connected to a controller or someone in finance and get in that way.

    Cold Calling is not dead for sure Travis, I do it all the time and its where 90% of my leads come from for our Sales Reps

    Serious question: How do you manage to stay so positive when doing sales? I feel sales can be an emotional rollercoaster and I had a really rough day today. I just can’t seem to shake it and have been in a funk all day. I want to change my attitude but can’t seem to do it. Any tips for those days when nothing works out?

    Yo Travis, what is the biggest trigger in your opinion in order to know if this career is for you. currently working for a tech company, and has some connections to the sales side of things. thinking about maybe trying my shot whenever ill have the oportunity to, but afraid ill find out quickly it isnt for me because its quite different than my current job (Tech adviser / Post sales engineer)

      @@BusinessAndFitness it is to be honest, talking and working with other people constantly is a great virtue of this work, but the grass is not always greener on the other side, and i really dont know if ill burnout after a year or so. how do you handle stressed periods? because its a job that you are not the only parameter in order to succeed in, you are quite relient on your customers as well to some extent... if you know what i mean... so how do you get over these periods?

      @@deltaraider87 working with people and having a being a better communicator than im already is. my take on salesmen is they are quite well equiped regarding interactions with others, know how to talk and get shit done, which are all crucial for every man imo.
